Nightblood first appeared in Warbreaker, so the real question is how nightblood passed on from Vasher to Nale. I understand why you might have thought they were the same blade(they are both long, narrow and straight) However Nightblood is black, which is pretty distinctive.

The theory is great however I believe that he was pulled deep into the cognitive realm instead of the spiritual, it makes more sense to me.

What are you looking forward to in Oathbringer?
StormblessDave replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
I am looking forward to Kaladin's povs at Hearthstone. I hope Jasnah and Kaladin meet and form the smartpeople duo. I hope Adolin awakens his shardblade. I hope Renarin learns to control his powers better. I want more Lopen povs with a lot more herdazian cousins in there. -
[OB] Oathbringer Prologue now on Tor.com
StormblessDave replied to KiManiak's topic in Stormlight Archive
Gavilar seemed so different from the Dalinar flashback, a lot more lifeless and dead. Another new thing was Venli with Klade and the guiding voices, hmm ring any bells? *cough* Ruin *cough* -
Hoid is a mean guy, but he has a good heart. SA was my first Sanderson book, and I really enjoyed the Wit moments. He is quite overhyped, however it's very understandable, considering he's made an appearance in most of the cosmere books( and has beaten up Kelsier)

when you get beaten to replying the same thing lol

Am I the only one who found her calling Wyndle a voidbringer really irritating? The number of times she said it made it worse Lmao

I believe he's going to stay a squire, and if he does become a radiant it doesn't bother me. He's the most lighthearted, jovial character in the series so far, if he does so(become a radiant), it's a few more Lopen povs! I don't think he's going to become a main character, so it'll be cool to see radiants povs of those who aren't in the spotlight.

What's your favourite fantasy series?
StormblessDave replied to ICanDream's topic in Stormlight Archive
Its a tie between Stormlight Archives and LOTR . The Malazan series was allright(characterization wasn't great though) Inheritance cycle was a disappointment, the first book was delightful but the others were a let down. Harry Potter is obviously amazing, the Kingkiller chronicles is equally amazing in a different way. I voted Stormlight -
I did say overhyped character in the stormlight archives, but nvm lol. I was ok with Hrathen, I saw glimpses of his 'good' side throughout the book and his horror at the previous genocide he had caused and his utmost efforts to prevent such a disaster from occurring again made the ending believable for me(a little predictable though)
-
Lol, I was going to put Stick in, but I refrained from doing so because I knew how sensitive the sharders are about Stick
-
Who's your most overhyped character in the stormlight archives series so far? Mine is definitely Lift - Unfortunately, I don't get her sense of humour and I find her irritating. This made Edgedancer a tough read for me(very well written otherwise), however seeing her character development at the end of edgedancer did make begin to like her.

Some Laral povs before she's going to marry Roshone would be very interesting. A few more Lopen povs wouldn't hurt

This thread isn't asking about which magic systems are more powerful, it's asking what would you like to be. As to their abilities, I totally agree with you.

He rushed home because he realized the everstorm was heading towards them and would be deadly, he rushed home to warn and save them. He ignored them because of shame, nothing else, he still loved his parents(atleast there's nothing indicating otherwise) when he realized they were in danger he rushed home to save them.

Sadeas' pov when Adolin began to kill him. A Tien pov at any point in his life, i'd love to see the world from his perspective.

Thanks, there is a big difference. Honestly, I can't see some of the present protagonists turning 'evil', but becoming a hindrance to the other protagonists is very possible, I'd like to see an internal radiant war tbh lol

Yeah and we already have seen the parshendi bond with voidspren at the end of Wor and edgedancer(after everstorms)
-
Yeah the worst characters I've seen so far are probably Sadeas and Amaram.

I disagree with that statement, he believed he was the dirt of the earth and didn't have an ounce of respect for himself which is made evident throughout the two books, He was banished from his people and given this one horrid punishment, he had nothing left except his honor, if he let that go he would have nothing left, it makes perfect sense why he clung to it. Its one of the most admirable things I have seen in a fictional character.
-
In my opinion, Taravangian is quite similar to Szeth, both hate what they are doing, but it is necessary for them(for Szeth his honor, for Taravangian what he believes is necessary to save the world) I understand why Mr T is so likeable but I personally didn't like him when he started using Szeth like a tool, okay so he's killing people on unimaginable scales and now using someone like Szeth and more or less torturing him by sending him on assasinations poor Szeth had nightmares about. I know, Taravangian believes that to be necessary too, but it was still NOT COOL.

That's a very dangerous way of thinking, very few villains(good ones) consider what they are to doing to be wrong most of the time they do it for survival alone or for what they believe is a better goal, even the common criminal does it often to feed their family, meet their basic requirements etc (not taking about big criminals who do it out of greed alone) Interestingly when a villain's character is well developed you end up feeling sympathy for him. Let me draw a comparison, we have seen Mr T's pov, his anguish and despair for his actions etc and feel sympathy for him despite his horrific actions(mass genocide) Now lets look at Amaram, we don't have his pov so we don't know how he feels exactly(we do have the clue that he feels guilty from kaladin's pov, so he isn't a feelingless killer) all we know is that he killed people for what he believed was a greater purpose - saving thousands more lives. The reason none of us have pity for him, is that we haven't had his pov yet, instead we have a pov of Kal one of his victims which incites our hatred for him( we haven't had this in Mr T's case), otherwise he is a very similar character to Mr T! So if you say Taravangian is a good character, your essentially saying that Amaram is a good character! In my eyes they are both bad people, its simple.(They just have sympathy-arising excuses, they are maybe even lying to themselves) And yes, Sadeas is worse than both of them, I agree

Rosharan system seems to be left out, very interesting(even though it's Brandon's biggest series)
-
Yeah its funny that despite being the most powerful of the 3, He's the only one dead LMAO
