It occurred to me (though my record this game has admittedly not been great) that the elims could have an idea who to target based on a seeker...but it could also be (and this seems more likely, as a seeker is only 1 attempt per night, and that only until he runs out of metals) that the metallurgist (or a metallurgist) is feeding them info in exchange for protection.

Ok...so that raises the question: Why did the elims skip the N0 kill? Were they just gambling on a detainment? And are no metals available tonight?

Yes, he definitely claimed because he was convinced it was necessary (or at least thought it might be necessary) to keep us on the right path. To quote (page 10 in the thread): "I'm feeling somewhat impulsive, and worry that this discussion is potentially heading down the wrong path. I detained Paranoid King during the night, thinking that there was some credence in Meta's thought that PK was using the anti-spike group as a distraction, and thinking that he was a strong enough character that he may well have determined the kill were he evil." (As another point: Does the rest of it mean "I detained Paranoid King during the night, thinking that there was some credence in Meta's thought that PK was using the anti-spike group as a distraction, and thinking that he was a strong enough character that he may well have determined the kill were he evil and therefore I might be able to stop an elim kill", or "I detained Paranoid King during the night, thinking that there was some credence in Meta's thought that PK was using the anti-spike group as a distraction, and thinking that he was a strong enough character that he may well have determined the kill were he evil, and therefore was a good candidate to throw suspicion on by skipping the N0 kill"? We're obviously meant to understand the first, but some players (admittedly, myself included) are fond of that sort of misdirection-without-actually-lying.) Regarding Flash: He's a bit of a newbie, a bit more focused on trying out hemalurgy/allomancy synergy than actually winning, but I don't think he's an elim.

Personally, I still somewhat suspect that the reason for the N0 kill was that what happened was meant to happen, except for Orlok's impetuous roleclaim. Orlok's description of why he detained PK makes some sense as "this is why a villager was suspicious of PK", but also can be viably read as "this is why an elim decided that PK would be a good target to throw suspicion on via detainment". I'm not certain by any means, but he is definitely my top candidate for elim-hood.

Normally, there is no way. If the elims are planning to use his ability in a way with obvious effects, that's different. So unless you're suggesting that he claimed before the elims decided that targeting Mistings would be a good idea. And I do not have any particular belief that the elims have a Coinshot; I said we can't assume that we have one (and then asked why he wouldn't have used that ability if they did, but that was answered).

While I agree regarding Cluny, if Elenion were an elim I don't think he would use weak evidence let us know that they have a seeker, when cloudjumper's argument in favor of them having a seeker is much stronger. He'd either keep quiet so we don't know, or use stronger evidence to build trust more effectively. It's possible (though unlikely) he is an elim and is counting on that or just didn't think of the stronger logic (though if they're targeting Mistings it's hard to see why he wouldn't), but at the very least I don't think his comment is anything more than a villager making a mistake.

Rather than cut anything, I would make each book into a movie trilogy (at which point the producers would probably realize that a TV series simply makes more sense). There's a reason they haven't been cut down further into books.

Then I'd take "taken by the Shaod well before the Reod". Bronze. There isn't really much that I can do while storing Zinc, and I don't have much need to think fast (faster than I already do) in a short time. On the other hand, never having to spend time trying to fall asleep would be useful. Would you rather be a Gold or Electrum misting?

Ah, right. (I realized that just before I saw your post, and it didn't say anyone else had posted yet, so I edited that question out of my post.)

It could also be that BR made the suggestion because the elims were planning to not attack Flash out of fear he'd be protected, and therefore had someone make sure he'd be protected. We don't know that there are both a hemalurgic and allomantic coinshot; there may only be the one. Also, keep in mind that the supply of steel is somewhat limited, so that also limits things somewhat. And Orlok, I would very much like to know what made you target me.

I think we can safely assume that it is going to continue until he changes, and sincerely regrets, those actions. (Said regret would also provide the broken-ness necessary to become a Radiant.)

If so, we would expect Dalinar at the very least (as he's bonded to what is tied for the strongest spren we know of) to be as smart as Mr. T at his best (since the variation is clearly not coming from the bond), which is not the case. Also, Mr. T doesn't seem to actually be bonded to a spren (yet).

Sorry, I meant "someone should protect The Flash"; I got mixed up. (That said, if they don't attack you, it's probably because they were afraid that you'd be protected and they'd waste a kill.)

Seeker is Bronze. Brass would be soother. And someone should definitely protect Cluny.

Put me down for math and physics (though not high-level physics).

Calamity is a being sent into the universe (the physical realm in Realmatic terms, to the extent that applies to a non-Cosmere setting) in order to test people by giving them powers. Where it was sent from, who sent it, and what its natural state is...we can't really know, though the Apocalypse Guard series might give more information.

If you were a twinborn, what would you like to be?
Yitzi2 replied to Lord Bookwyrm's topic in Mistborn
Bendalloy isn't really so good for getting more time, since (a) it's used up quickly and isn't all that cheap, (b) your metabolism gets speeded up with everything else, so you don't get that much extra time, (c) you'd have to stop and start it whenever you want to move, and (d) anything involving interaction with the outside world (including the internet) might not work so well. A better approach for getting extra time (and the one I'd take) is bronze/bronze. Not having to spend several hours a day on sleep would be quite the time-saver.- 155 replies

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

But did you do it before you started lurking here? If so, where did you get the idea that the stick is such a big deal (in the actual book, it's a fairly minor scene)? -

I think that's more a sign of being a 17th Sharder. -
@Cluny the Scourge why do you seem so sure that The Flash is not Mistborn?

Please, the village is not in a good position, and deciding targets based on personal annoyance is not conducive to changing that situation.

He said he didn't want to claim (who does?), but did because he was feeling impulsive and was afraid we were potentially going down the wrong path D1, presumably in thinking the captain was an elim and detained PK for that reason (he explained his villager reason for detaining PK). Now, was that an attempt to help the village, or an attempt to make sure the "detain and don't kill" gambit was successful?

That said, if there's a lurcher who can protect him, it might not be a bad idea, since if he is village he's probably a significant target.

They sort of had to, since it would have been more suspicious if he didn't (a second time) after I asked him to.
