Lightweaver the first time, and Skybreaker the second time. I've taken other quizzes and have gotten a different order each time, so I guess I'm hard to pin down. Great quiz!

I'm new, and I have a question! :)
I Am Witless replied to jjwilbourne's topic in Introduce Yourself!
*cough* Terry Pratchett *cough* You'll laugh your butt off, though I wouldn't call it epic fantasy. Brandon LOVES Pratchett. But you read Terry, don't start at the beginning. Start with Going Postal, Night Watch, Monstrous Regiment, or The Truth. -
I just finished re-reading The Way of Kings, and I'm about (in a few minutes) to start re-reading Words of Radiance. After I got on the 17th Shard, I decided to re-read all of the Comere stories and take notes about worldhoppers, behind-the-scenes stuff, and things like that. I've been taking notes in my book (ex. pg 3 in tWoK, writing that Shalash was the reason why her statue was missing, or in the Ishikk chapter, with Demoux, Galladon, and the other dude looking for Hoid), as well as making little speculations on the chapter headings. And with much ado about nothing, here is my intent for this post. I would really, really, REALLY appreciate it if people could comment with behind-the-scenes/little theories/worldhoppers/other stuff from tWoK or WoR. Things that don't stick out or make sense if you don't have a general understanding of the Cosmere. Thanks, y'all!

The Mega-Heist Vin Almost Completed (HoA Spoilers)
I Am Witless replied to TheBlueShifting's topic in Mistborn
I love this line to death. -
Sorry to interrupt your psychoanalysis of Adolin Kholin, but I'mma answer the original question, as I'm not good with the psychoanalysis stuff. Feel free to ignore my comment and comment around it. Which cosmere character do I relate to most? Wellllllll.............. Wayne, to be honest, which sounds REALLY weird. -He thinks differently than most people (him in a kleptomaniac sort of way, me in an aspie sort of way) -ACTING. Seriously, I can't not love him for this. I have years upon years of acting experience, most of which was spent dressing as the opposite gender. His use of accents, of hats, all of the tiny, sublet little details that he uses to make people trust him appeal to me. I sometimes subtly alter who I portray myself (not my characters) as to gain attention or favor from others, and Wayne does the same thing. And I absolutely love that he uses his time bubbles to help him pull off his stunts. -On my own. Wayne often does his own thing, whether oblivious to the plans of others or not. He might do a random thing for entertainment or out of curiosity, or maybe because no one pays attention to him. It sounds a bit familiar to me........ -Sense of humor that isn't exactly clean or appropriate. I really shouldn't have to explain this one. -Random philosophies. These are sometimes mixed with the aforementioned sense of humor, but are usually profound, unexpected, and confusing. Ways I am NOT like Wayne. -Guns. Lets just say that I'm the exact opposite of Wayne when it involves guns, and leave it at that. -Female. I really shouldn't have to explain this. -Not a Allomancer or Feruchemist, unfortunately. -Probably some other stuff....... So yes. I really like/relate to Wayne.

Perhaps we are wrong about everything.
I Am Witless replied to Complexityspren's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It would be interesting if Brandon is misleading us, as the 17th Shard. I mean, we do spend a lot of time looking for Hoid, and even though we go in-depth into a lot of things, it would be interesting if we are following a 'false trail' somewhere. -
What are your Cosmere names?
I Am Witless replied to Borio Singaldi's topic in General Brandon Discussion
No, I don't. It's one of my ancestors last names. Welp, now that I've looked it up, I understand why you asked. -

Is there a post anywhere about hereditary Surgebinding? I've found a few posts mentioning things similar to it, but I can't find a single post about it. I mean, the Kholins do have a lot of Surgebinding, so it might be hereditary, right? However, I understand that spren choose 'their human' (or Listener, or whatever), so I'm not quite sure about how relevant the Kholins are. Any thoughts, or, even better, an actual post about this, hidden somewhere in the depths of the 17th Shard?

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
I Am Witless replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
You know that you're a Sanderfan when you start annotating your copy of WoK with all of the info that you've found on the 17th Shard. -
@Complexityspren, welcome to the 17th Shard! Have an upvote and a tip; I suggest reading around the forums, and if you have a theory, checking to see if someone else has expounded/shared it. There isn't a set format for writing a post, just general politeness and marking things with spoiler tags, though there is also a pinned thread somewhere with the rules on it. Again, welcome to the 17th Shard!

Ooooooooooooh, another person who learned to love fantasy/scifi through Redwall! Welcome, @Cluny the Scourge, to the 17th Shard!

I would absolutely love to see the Wax and Wayne series portrayed in three or four live-action movies. The shoot-em-up visuals are amazing, and we wouldn't really have to worry about the less noticeable Allomantic and Feruchemical effects, Soothing, Rioting, etc. I know that we already have a lot of cowboy movies, but this one would definitely stand out, especially with a cool opening scene and good advertising. The only problem would be finding an actor who could pull off Wayne......

Your Least Favorite Cosmere Story And Why
I Am Witless replied to Stonesinew134's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Warbreaker, but only because I read it when I was too young (I didn't feel comfortable with some of the humor and situations). I still haven't re-read it since then, though I will when the semester is over. -
Does Brandon ever specific what type of rock it is that makes up the bedrock layer for Roshar? It doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere, and the type of stone dictates how a formation erodes. And where does the crem come from? It seems to be a clay-like sediment that is eroded off of the bedrock layer, but I can't think of any common earth stones that easily erode into particles of that size. Volcanic rock, both extrusive and intrusive, would erode into larger chunks, so maybe the bedrock layer of Roshar is sedimentary of some sort?

You know, I normally would challenge you to a Battle of Wits........................ but I see you are unarmed.

We read in Mistborn: Secret History that the Ire are worried about someone or something crossing over the border from Threnody. Alonoe, the Ire who wants to take up Preservations power, says that, " "Perhaps there was someone, but the guard was wrong about it being a Cognitive Shadow. Have the guards be on alert, and leave the device on just in case. This timing strikes me as too opportune to be coincidental" " (pg. 301). I have some vague ideas/questions about this. Why are they worried about a Cognitive Shadow crossing from Threnody to Scadrial? Obviously, Shades aren't fun to deal with, but are they worried about more than just Shades crossing over? One of the guards, a bit before, asks, "How would a Threnodite have made it all the way here?", which probably means that traveling on and off of Threnody is very difficult. I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this, but it sticks out. The phrase, "This timing strikes me as too opportune to be coincidental", signals that something has occurred on Threnody, though it might be just the goings-on of Scadrial. Basically, why are the Ire so worried about Threnody? Are they fearful of Shades? If they are most likely Elantrians, then they have no need to fear Shades, as they can probably destroy them. Are they worried that the Evil has managed to travel between worlds? Any thoughts?

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
I Am Witless replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted. Everything that is considered ugly in this world congregates around you because it needs self-worth. Mud congregates around your shoes, vultures circle overhead, and Sadeas tries to become your best friend. I wish to have a tutoring session with Jasnah so that I can get a better grade in English 101. -
Sanderson "Would you Rather"
I Am Witless replied to KnightRadiant's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
The Assassin in White, because then I will a.) die quickly and relatively painlessly (assuming he is using his shardblade), b.) not possibly be forced into becoming a Steel Inquisitor, and c.) my killer will feel sorry for killing me. Would you rather be a bridgeman (Beginning of WoK) or a skaa (Beginning of TFE)?- 954 replies

@Yas What they aren't telling you is that some people, *glares at @Darkness Ascendant*, give cookies with metal spikes in them to newcomers. It is a Mistborn reference. The cookies may or may not give you powers. I'm still not quite sure.
-
Soooo.......... I shouldn't eat the cookie because it might contain a Hemalurgic spike, which will either kill me or give me cool powers? Or it might have something entirely different in it, a poison that has not yet been discovered in the Cosmere? I'm a bit tempted. I like cookies.......
