  1. So.... what color is lerasium? On that note: is Nightblood's sheathe part of him? Or separate? If it's separate, then maybe it's some form of concentrated Investiture created after Vasher realized he needs a way to contain Nightblood while he's not being wielded?
  2. Could very well be that Nightblood just absorbs any Investiture it consumes and doesn't release it. He might be the Invested equivalent of a black hole. Also isn't the second law of thermodynamics that entropy always increases in a closed system?
  3. Might not be a matter of a special spike. Kandra might not just know their bind points and they probably don't want to screw around with them
  4. Bleeder used Feruchemy. It's not's that kandra can't, it's that they need to jump through more hoops than most people to do so
  5. A good question to ask relating to Marsh's activities: has he been off Scadrial yet? Also, do we have any kind of confirmation that he is working directly for Harmony, like the kandra are?
  6. The problem isn't that a Thug is stronger than you. I mean yes, that's an issue. the issue is he's a tank. He can shrug off wounds that would knock down normal men, AND he's stronger than you. Vin actually shows us a lot that the problem with fighting against someone using pewter isn't the damage they can do, it's that it takes a hell of a lot of damage to actually put them out of the fight.
  7. Wooden dueling canes with aluminum cores, possibly able to keep up with Pewterarm strength. Boomerangs for Lurchers (how is that not a thing already...) High-friction shoes for Steelrunners Handheld crossbows with the draw of full crossbows, for pewterarms.
  8. Unless you can only store Allomancy while you are burning your metal. Which actually makes more sense considering how the grenade works.
  9. I missed that WoB. That's interesting, that probably puts him down there around the same time the expedition left to retrieve the Bands of Mourning. Man someone really needed to mention Ironeyes during the interactions with Alik's people...
  10. Except we're talking about Wax. Who is suspicious of everything, all the time. It does seem odd that he wouldn't pick up on Hoid. Honestly... new coachman, and remarked on as new right before he talked to Harmony... maybe he just didn't register the name?
  11. Throwing open the doors to rampant speculation on where Marsh is. We know he is at least somewhat interested in the Set, but it's been at least a year since Marasi talked to him. So where is he? It seems like Wax's recent troubles would've been a lot easier with Marsh by his side than MeLaan or TenSoon
  12. I'm putting in the Adonalsium column. It makes me wonder if the 17th Shard isn't more of a Adonalisum cult than a Hoid damage control team
  13. The interesting question is why though, isn't it? What was Adonolasium doing that was so bad that the likes of Leras, Tanavast, and Ati were compelled to ally with Rayse to destroy him? Also... anyone else thinking that maybe the God Beyond is Adonlasium? I mean... if they killed him, his spiritual aspect had to go somewhere, right?
  14. Which is probably why he told Kelsier to survive in the Pits. He -needed- Kelsier to survive or else the whole plan would've gone pear shaped.
  15. Unless she made a new mask when she got to Roshar. Wood isn't as common there, but you can't swing a rock without hitting a bug/crab/lobster thing
  16. ... You think no historical record would have noted that the Lord Mistborn had a spike in his face instead of an eye? Unless you think he regrew it? I'm not sure you can do that with feruchemical healing, that might be more a Stormlight thing.
  17. Weeeelll.... they believe he showed up with them, was my reading, and assumed because he showed up with them he made them. I'm not sure if that logic holds up now that we have a pretty good idea that Rashek and the southern Lord Ruler were more than likely different people.
  18. Brought over from the other thread where you mentioned this: Interesting thought, but does the timing work out? We know that Spook ruled in Elendel for a pretty long time, either A) until he was 100 or after 100 years of rule. I got the impression that the Sovereign went to Southern Scadrial give or take 30 years after HoA. Spook's movements during that time seem pretty firmly in Northern Scadrial. Edited because apparently B ) makes a smiley. Darn

  20. Disagree. It was likely the Lord Ruler who made them. It was likely not the Lord Ruler who built the temple and helped the Southern continent.
  21. Anyone else wondering how Hoid is here and on Roshar at the same time? From what I understand Stormlight and this series are taking place roughly in paralell... and we have Hoid's movements in Stormlight right now pretty well mapped out. Unless he's Elsecalling or something, he just isn't fast enough to cover all the ground he covers -and- take a jaunt to Scadrial
  22. Or the Lord Ruler spent a few centuries with a zinc mind that couldn't be emptied and all of a sudden lost the ability to think at superhuman speeds. It's odd that the Bands were his only metalmind though. He was wearing others, why were none of those metalminds? Why didn't he have a backup atium mind? For how careful and precise the Lord Ruler was, it seems like he got caught up way too much in his own hype... which doesn't really jive with his messages in the storage caverns. I wonder if Ruin influenced him somewhere along the line to get rid of backups...
  23. More to the point, she's probably a Hunter. She -might- even be one of the survivors of the original expedition to the temple. If the Ghost Bloods helped her out of the execution that was planned for the survivors, it'd make sense that she comes back after establishing a new power base. the Bands are probably one of the most powerful items we've seen in the Cosmere... particularly on Roshar, where Investiture is all over the place.
  24. This follows with my we don't know a whole lot about Dalinar pre-Gavilar's death point. This Blackthorn is VERY different from the Dalinar we know, is definitely a brutal warlord, and I can totally see being best friends with Sadeas. Considering Sadeas being better in the past: I wonder if he actually was, but Dalinar's effectiveness skewed his wordlview?
  25. We don't know enough about Dalinar as he was BEFORE Gavilar's death to make a lot of judgements on his value system. How long before Gavilar's death did he stop cutting off the heads of people who disagreed with him? Or was it after? He railed against the Codes, so those weren't a part of his moral structure. Basically, how close was Dalinar to being Sadeas, or Aledar? We simply don't know. We know the man Dalinar is NOW is ashamed of the man he was then. So... that might give us some good hints as to what kind of man that was
