    Hey, I didn't say GRRM fans only read him for sex and violence. I said that's his thing. And that's ok. I did enjoy at least half of ASoIaF, actually. What makes me angry is that OP goes to another author to give him this "great advice" to be more like someone he's not. And I was pretty rude about it, I did apologize like two minutes later, I'm quite quick-tempered like that. Rethinking it, you're right @king of nowhere that OP might not have known about Adonalsium, so my bad. But the whole overtone of their letter remains ignorant and arrogant and even though wording is polite, a whole world more polite than my own, I cannot give it to "just expressing their opinion". For me, personally, it's like telling someone "you shouldn't be eating that". Really incongruous.

    You're like one of those guys telling Brandon to be more like GRRM before he got published. If I wanted to read something like GRRM I would read storming GRRM. I, we here, like BS because he is different. He's his own person, not another pervy old man buying his audience with sex and violence. I am personally storming fed up with sex in every modern fantasy book. Erotic scenes add as much substance to the story as describing someone's defecation. It's natural, yes, but I don't give a rust. The religion thing - you didn't pay much attention to what you were reading, eh? Probably you were too focused on finding fantasies material or something. I'm not going to bother explaining you how the whole cosmere is build upon Adonalsium. Or that Dalinar wasn't always this way. You should have noticed by now. To summarize. People who try to impose their believes on others - that is like you, not like Brandon - make me angry. Edit: I am sorry for the choice of words and being emotional. I stand by the context.

    Oh, I never thought of pitcher plant. I'm glad orchid was on someone else's mind as well it makes sense climate-wise too. I'm thinking more orchid crossed with lotos though. This is Bauhinia variegata I was thinking of when saying "an orchid". The intresting fact about it is that it is considered a holy tree in hinduism and is connected to the Godess Shiva, "the auspicious one". this is Nymphaea stellata, the "blue lotos" and is also a god-related flower in hinduism (offered to several gods) considered to be pure.

    Guys, I want a tattoo with a Tear of Edgli. But there’s not much Nalthis fanart and I CANNOT draw at all. Maybe one of you, incredibly talented people, wants to try? Or maybe you could just give me ideas and my tattoo artist will do the rest I guess Tears of Edgli come in lots of colours as they’re used for dyes, but in my mind the flowers were always cobalt blue or black (the latter makes no sense though). The “tears” are probably the shape of petals? Or maybe they guttate? My money’s on the first option, because it’s “Tears of Edgli” not “Teary Edgli” So when trying to imagine the flower I think of a kind of an orchid of a vibrant colour? But with more petals? And not on a tree. What do you think? If you have any quotes handy I'd be thankful too.

General Cosmere Can you bind a cognitive shadow with someone else’s body? probably RAFO Is Nightblood an example of another end-negative investiture? Is the Evil on Threnody the same kind of wild Investiture that is present in Cognitive Realm on Sel? Has Cultivation Invested in Ashyn? Are people of Roshar actually from Ashyn? (Is Ashyn Tranquiline Halls?) I know, probably RAFO. Technical Roshar Can the surge of Progression be used as precisely as to grow new synapses and therefore learn faster? Does the Surge of Division allow to split an atom? What are practical differences between Cohesion and Tension? Because from the physics point of view you can achieve the same results with both – increasing cohesion in a piece of say, leather, that is making intermolecular force pull the particles in stronger, would effect in that leather being stiffer or even unbreakable, just as simply increasing the tension of the material. Is there a local forum/facebook group/fansite in Germany? If there is, I really advise to get organized with non-sharders too, It was very helpful in Poland to gather WoBs this way Anyways, have fun!

    I think that if she traveled to Scadrial - or any other planet really - her priorities wouldn't be getting a bandolier and a backpack but clothing that isn't ragged and a proper glove. But when we see her, her dress is tattered and she has an improvised glove on her safehand. That makes me think new possessions is something she either found or was given and that very well might have happened in the shadesmar.

    I personally don't care that much for the graphic novel and it can totally be non-canon if you ask me. I'm praying for the novel version of the story anyways. But, you know, that's just me.
