I'm proud that a WoB that I got about getting investiture from Taldain's star on another planet made it to this shardcast Apart from that it's a fantastic discussion - I think there may be someting in Grace's theory - that the Hoid's letter was addressed to Bavadin, but she's not existing as a single entity anymore

Well, that would make another great question - is Sazed "filtering" Taldain's star light from investiture? Or just blocking its light? I like Your theory, but I think it would take ages for the investiture from Taldain that reaches Scadrial to form a god-metal - it's probably a very, very small amount per second. On the other hand it seems quite possible that Autonomy's agents use some kind of clever hack to transport investiture to Scadrial, and form a god metal there.

I haven't had time to read all pages of this thread, but from what i've seen most people think Mr. T is Bad News™ - IMO he's not as bad as most think. True, in the future he'll try to take the "highking" seat, but at the moment he's not in position to do it. At the moment he's in position to truly help Dalinar unite Roshar - having Diagram and lots of other resources. #VoteForMrT!

Well, there's another explanation that came to my mind, feel free to prove me wrong Maybe when KR dies, the trauma which the spren undergoes, allows Odium to take control over it? On one hand, inbetween the desolations it is not a big problem, as the bond can be transferred. On the other hand, when the desolation is triggered, each killed KR would mean one spren more for the Enemy to use, and fate worse than locked-in-shardblade-death for the spren. To be honest, i don't feel like it would cause such an immediate action as the Recreance was on its own, but maybe the reason was a combination of multiple theories listed in this thread.

Welcome to the forum @Xero stormz! Have an upvote and a cookie! In my opinion Parshmen/Parshendi (before Stormform) would fear the dead, rather than show respect to their bodies if death would cause voidspren to appear. I had an idea that maybe death somehow allows dying Parshendi to pull voidspren out of his friends, but that wouldn't explain Parshmen reaction. Do we actually know what Parshendi do with the bodies of the dead? Their burying rituals?

The only thing I could possibly agree with is the paragraph about death of characters, but I wouldn't want Brandon to change his style only to accomodate to that, reading through his Sanderson Avalanche™ is VERY satysfying. Apart from that, this could destroy the beautiful thing about Brandon's books - hope that they bear. Reading his books gives me lots of positive energy. Let's leave GRRM things to GRRM and Sanderson things to Sanderson, I guess. Apart from that, I actually disagree with everything else, I don't think that Brandon's books need more sex, or that religion/atheism is not displayed well/tends to favour religious characters (although I'm a religious person myself, so my viewpoint can be influenced by this)

I found it, the question starts around 1:57:45 on the recording, It's a little hard to make out, but it ends with Brandon saying "not all human, but all from Yolen". I'll update this post when i'll listen to it few more times and get more out of it. Edit: It goes roughly like this: Q: I wonder, if original shardholder was (another?...) not from... A: Not human or...? Q: Human, but not from Yolen A: So... no, everybody was from Yolen. Q: Sapience was(...)? A: Not all human, but all from Yolen. A little bit further, there is another interesting question (or actually answer): 2:06 Q: Could You tell me something about Cosmere, that we don't know? A: Oooh boy, that is so hard, people ask this all the time and I get running out of things, hmm... There are shards whose shardpools are not on a planet they currently inhabit. At least one. What do You think, is it a mention about shardpool in Sixth of the Dusk? -

For the first time I had an opportunity to meet Brandon, all I can say is that he is a really awesome person (but we all know that right? ) I have the recording here if someone would like to listen to it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8nN2VZ672Bnb3R4Tm5aQWVvVEk At the moment @Extesian is working on the transcription, so ask him if you'd like to help My questions were: And second one: Q:Would someone with enough knowledge be able to use Autonomy's investiture if Taldain's star was seen from his/her shardworld? (some after-question clarification) A:I would say yes, if the light particles are reaching you.- 196 replies

I'd be happy to get to know some sharders IRL, but I'll only attend Kraków meeting, is anyone from the forum going there? It seems that there will be much less people in Kraków - fb says 28 will attend and 16 are interested I'll probably take my friend with me, if he'll need help with this, I'll let You know -
Welcone to the forum, avatar sister Fire avatar-holders unite! Together we can do unimaginable feats! Like actually set the Stick on fire! Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell is a part of the cosmere (You can find it in Arcanum Unbounded, which i also reccomend ).

When at IT classes you haven't ever paid any special attention to declarations of 'void' functions. And now... Every time you declare one, red eyes haunt you... -

I'll attend the Kraków signing, but i'm not sure if i have any decent recorder, i'll have to check. How does it look like during such events? Are the listeners allowed to leave recording devices on some kind of table near mr. Sanderson? -
I wonder if charging metalmind so its "fully-charged" becomes slower and slower (as in charging the capacitor) or there is just a limit where you can't store anymore?

You're right, there was no direct mention of taking breath by force, it's just... there was no mention at all how exactly was the Nightblood made. The only info we have is about these 1000 Breaths and the 9'th Heightening. There's a theory that Nightblood is a hemalurgic spike, which steals Breath. It would support the suspicions about taking breath by force, and could add to Vasher fear of creating another blade like this. Well, we probably won't know until Nightblood (the book) comes out

Well, in our conversation "Journey before Destination" was fitting perfectly, so i just couldn't omit it. What would be Yours? (You know that you are a Sanderfan when you want to memorise some of his quotes to use them in everyday life ) -

My friend is reading Way of Kings, he didn't know what cosmere was when i asked, so i advised him NOT to google it, until he finishes WoR. He have read Warbreaker already. Dis gonna be gud! Unfortunately I can't get anyone apart from this friend to read Sanderson Back to the topic, you know that you are a Sanderfan, when you quote Way of Kings to someone who feels uncertain and fearful about his/her exams. -
I like parts of the Way of Kings quoted in the Way of Kings: "I understood in a moment of stillness. Those candle flames were like the lives of men. So fragile. So deadly. Left alone, they lit and warmed. Let run rampant, they would destroy the very things they were meant to illuminate. Embryonic bonfires, each bearing a seed of destruction so potent it could tumble cities and dash kings to their knees." - Nohadon
