  1. Really? Crickey @Yata I was actually confident there ** shakes head ** shattered.. Did I miss this in the books or is this a WoB? @Thanatos I humbly apologize @YataThanks Sooo, just to confirm Yata. The Allomantic attributes in the BoM act like a Metalmind and the attributes need to be stored to use and we would need a Mistborn or a bunch of Mistings to store? I wonder how that works? Does that mean as you are storing an Allomantic attribute you can't use said power, or it's not as powerful depending on how much your storing..? And you could multiply how much of said attribute you tap - e.g. x2 or x10 making the power that much stronger? !~ HIF ~!
  2. Thanks, I thought about this after I posted but as stated we still don't know much about Medallions and the such, soooo.... I still think this is a valid consideration though I agree we'll put it in the "out there" basket. I was highly certain about the "element" as well but couldn't remember where I read this, so I presented it as a theory Now, isn't that something? Do you think maybe he has an unkeyed Lerasium metelmind? On a side note, someone told me on another post that the Allomancy attributes from the BoM act like Feruchemy / metalminds and need to be stored to use like the ferring powers.. Don't suppose you guys could confirm this for me? If this is true it would not help this theory 'O mine. We would need a Mistborn or Lerasium Misting to store said attribute so it can be tapped. Thanks for the replies guys, my imagination tends to get away from me sometimes !~ HIF ~!
  3. @Thanatos Jasnah with a gun does sound fun. I can see her meeting up in Shadesmere with one of the Cosmere's old friends - Kriss, who comes from a world with guns. And Jasnah being the inquisitive type would attempt to find out what's going on with said gun to replicate it.. Hmmmmmm, Navani would be quite interested with this... @Weltall Yeah, if Jasnah and Navani got there hands on a gun, with their growing knowledge of Surges / Fabrials I could imagine they could make a gun-fabrial. Could her Spren become a Shard Gun? Though I doubt she could soul cast bullets directly into the gun I'd imagine she could Soulcast bullets, at the very least the ole school ball bearings. Maybe she could use Spheres!! Or, although it's not one of the essences could we somehow solidify Stormlight? Maybe with a fabrial of some sort.? In regards to the powder / chemicals used to the trigger do you think Stormlight could replace this in some form? (Not sure how, but you guys have a better mind for Investiture than me..) Though that "little knife" Jasnah has on the cover of Book 3 doesn't look like a gun unless its one of those Final Fantasy guns-swords! !~ HIF ~!
  4. I see your point. Those damnation holes.. we should visit the aeflin or eaflin (WoT) amd damand these holes be filled! Ok, ill bite. The epilogue of the Cosmere will involve: Hoid on a planet outside of the Cosmer Walking into a book signing A very interesting couple of hours later Hoid meets The Author and dramatically places a book down entitled "Cosmer's End" Hoid: Well, thats not quite how it happened. The Author: No. I dont think they would have listened.. Hoid: hmmph. So, its done then is it? Hoid pulls a card out of his coat and slowely slides it towards The Author. The Author picks up the card and reads. A smile cracks his face and he chuckles, than laughs.. Spoiler on the card! (Be warned, some things you cant unread) P.s.Like all of my theories Ive invested in, it doesnt seem likely. Though this one gives me giggles !~ HIF ~!
  5. Wow, all this talk of Nightblood is making me giddy. Anyone else excited about the next book? Its got my imagination running in circles like a dog chasing it's tail. I keep picturing a scene with Szeth and Kaladin standing on a hill watching a massive army of nightmares. Szeth says: the sword, it likes you. Kal: your.. sword? Szeth: yes, you are very good at finding evil. Kal: ** snorts and points at the army ** Thats kinda hard to miss. Szeth: ** smiles ** you did me a favour back there in the storms.. I've got this.. Szeth walks calmly towards the nightmare and dissapears over the crest. Than a black sheath flys in the air.. And sound dies... Ok ok. I know thats probably not going to happen. Knowing Mr S its going to be even cooler.! ** sulks ** just excited is all.. !~ HIF ~!
  6. 2 lerasium beads! That changes everything!! Anyone want to bet theres a mistborn kandra trolling the cosmer? (Ok, im pretty sure kandra cant become allomancers but we're allowed to dream ) @Weltall I thought the medalions where created using a simmilar process as the BoM? Which included unkeyed allomancy.. Thats the part I was talking about. An "unkeyed lerasium allomantic metalmind" was just some words i threw together to get the idea out. But if im wrong and they arent the same than I shall rephrase: If we had a pure lerasium version of the BoM with allomantic attributes would wielding it make you a mistborn? !~ HIF ~!
  7. If there was a lerasium medalion - or an unkeyed lerasium allomantic metalmind, would this make the wielder a Mistborn? If the answer is yes.. Then we must ask.. Is this what Hoid did? The most liked theory regarding "the element" in "hoids" letter is the bead of lerasium he pilfered.. And this is the only lerasium bead left. Do we know if they will.. Grow back like atium? Or is that up to harmony maybe? !~ HIF ~!
  8. @Thanatos Negative. The BoM grant both Allomancy and ferring powers, i believe the 16 base metals of each total 32 powers of god. I dont think it contains the god metals or god alloys though, could be wrong there. This is shown when: !~ HIF ~!
  9. Guys, gotta love how you find all this.. Turns my world upside down! But in a good way So if its not theoretical than has it already happenend? !~ HIF ~!
  10. @Yata @Thanatos hmmm, was thinking a bit exponentially there. And I agree the "boost" i suggested doesnt increase the value of Marasi's reserve. I still think we can do this.! Ok.. Do we know how long in real time Marasi can hold a Cadmium bubble on a full reserve? I can remember a comparison to bend allow being kinda opposites; Waynes bubble is small and burns quick whilst Marasis bubble is large and burns slow. Pretty sure i didnt imagine that.? We saw its use though in AoL where people came running from say a km away (or even miles away ) in a few seconds.. So for the sake of this idea lets say Marasis bubble slows down time x100 (hyperthetically) and on a full reserve she can Potentially jump at max up to 1 year, though i feel thats a stretch its still not getting us to era 3. What if she conveniently and without the help of any deity found a cadmium earring, stud.. or spike. This would theoretically boost her to savant levels. Yes? That hyperthetical max 1 year would turn into say.. A decade. Still havent made era 3.. Hmmmm. Ok, im afraid im going to have to get a bit wacky with ideas.. 1) Has anyone got a RAFO yet asking if wielding the BoM has a special side effect? Such as widening the "cracks" or S'DNA.? Im thinking it could possibly increase the potential of your existing allomancy / ferring powers. Either increased reserve, output or both. ** outside the box question: when wax healed himself with the BoM did that heal all his old wounds so now hes wax in his prime or that doesnt count as they were already "healed" ** 2) Harmonium or a harmonium alloy gives a multiplyer to the burn? P.s. Harmonium is kinda "unkeyed" so anyone can burn it.. (unrelated possibility) 3) Harmony leads our tired heroes to a catch of convenient metals. Steris, we find out is a nicrosil or duraluminum gnat. Using these convenient metals Marasi and Steris jump to the future 1 leap at a time.. Yay!! Era 3! We made it.! And if none of that sits well. 4) Harmony feeling guilty over letting Wayne die (ruin) decides to balance the scales by preserving Wax and co, waves his hand and says: "sleep my son and wake to a brave new world. I trust i will need you. We will all need you I think.." Ok, so some of its a bit out of the bubble and I didnt even mention the lost metal! !~ HIF ~!
  11. Well, while I'm priming a mock outraged rant I just want to say those 4 words gave me giggles. You know, don't be shy about it mate just come right out and say it! We should be friends..! Or at the very least, associates of a secret organisation. ** nods ** I see you have an open mind. *** Warning!! Rant primed ** What!! Did you not notice I have a statutory limitation for this post of "about 7 years" for any negative feedback!! This, your eyes did not see?! For you I challenge Vorinism at the expense of my soul and give you prophesy.. And a new shard! Oh, the life of fain will (Incoherent Gibberish) with the Gods! And I (some uncouth and unbecoming words best not repeated) with the light falling to the earth as the fires rise there will be.. ** Coughing fit followed by 3 deep breaths than raises 1 fist to the heaven's ** Justice!!! **panting ** Anyone else parched? I could go a Harmonious Larger.. Its dark, bitter and frothy and always hits the spot. Preserves well but may give you bowel problems the next day. "Feels like someone is in your head? Have a pint of harmony and talk back" !~ HIF ~!
  12. You hooked me with the title: Perhaps we are wrong about everything. Made me think; "Perhaps.. Perhaps, he could be onto something.?" Guys, I dont think it would be a good idea to break any walls.. Especially the 4th wall! All sorts of crazy could happen. Next thing you know you've got a bottle of perfume in your coat and your stalking homeless people asking if they know anything about Uncle Andy.. !~ HIF ~!
  13. For some reason I've got it in my head Odium will be defeated by the end of book 5 in a very specific way and like most new sharders I feel it to be prophetic. (Ok, its going to get a bit out there here, but I hear thats where the truth might be so bear with me) A 3rd previously unknown shard gets involved and will be instrumental in Odiums downfall. Im guessing the shard of divine wrath.. Now wrath has been waiting for its moment when Odium is using up his powers and is overly distracted or invested and brings divine wrath to hate, and in an unprecedented way tears the vessal from the shard.. But before it can show its wrath to the now physical Rayse, cultivation makes her play and takes up Odium and becomes.. (cultivated hate..) Vengance.! Than she tells wrath to mind its own business and go home. Wrath keenly outmatched prudently dissapears after saying a few choice words that will be talked about for decades by us ignorant sharders. Vengance than starts putting Honor back together which isnt a quick process but does involve a bit of honor-un-investing and is quite dramatic for poor planet Roshar. Now we have a tripple shard entitled.. (honorable vengance..) Justice.! Unfortunately this tripple shard combo doesnt mix well like harmony and starts tearing itself apart in a very dramatic way.. Remember Dalinars last vision at the end of WoK? Yeah well that happens.. and theres a mass exodus from Roshar to.. Ashyn. Not everyone survives :*( So, what Im saying is. In this hypothetical scenario Cultivation ends up worse than Odium. And in about 7 years you may tell me how wrong I am though i dont think ill mind cause its going to be awesome.! !~ HIF ~!
  14. Well my theory about the end of mistborn era 2 is: Wax, Marissa and Steris use an alomantic grenade charged with duraluminum, used in conjunction with Marissa's time bubble... shoots them into the future. And on Harmony's suggestion, they go to the movie theatre to see "The Great Adventures of Waxillium Wayne", which is amusingly and obtusely not quite factual. !~ HIF ~!
  15. @Jondesu @Pagerunner So it was a Fabrial! I was going off the wording in the book. And that's where the cookie crumbles on that idea I don't know why but I though he had Nales Honorblade.. Though thinking back, he does use Adhesion doesn't he - that's where he makes people stick to the floor and objects isn't it? Like Kal sticking Lopen to the wall.. True, it was when Kal lastclap'd to save Reni (now wasn't that cool). Well, I was way off there. @Pagerunner Cheers, was the RAFO on the question relating to weather the Heralds are from Roshar..? Thats probably where I got the idea of them having other forms of magic.. So, I guess that's just speculation. And I did read a WoB regarding the Heralds all being afflicted by madness (cracks?) Also WoB stating it is "possible" to bond multiple spren of the same type though it doesn't really multiply your Surgebinding. Ahhh, can't find it but If I memba right he likened it to an Honorblade and how it sucks more Stormlight or something along those lines.. Ok, ok.. I admit, I jumped the gun. You've convinced me that it's most likely Nale who has his Blade back (he would wouldn't he), it would be odd to teach his Skybreakers without it I guess.. Yeah, I knew about the Spren copying the Heralds - I wasn't going in that direction Although If the Heralds do have other "abilities" I wonder if it is akin to the Radiants buffs (like Windrunners and Squires) considering the Spren are copying them.. Thanks! You guys are awesome! *~ HIF ~*
  16. I was assuming but has been confirmed? Ok, ok.. EDGEDANCER SPOILER Also, nothing on the possibility of Nale resurrecting Szeth being this so called end-negative magic system we've seen hinted? *~ HIF ~*
  17. @Spoolofwhool Ahhh, thanks mate. I think Ati's influence done a number on me (Melatium being the 11th metal), though my laziness could be partly to blame and I could have done some research on the Allomantic charts So, at this stage we know of a possible 4 x 16 Allomantic combinations: Original, Atium, Lerasium, Harmonium. Ok, bear with me as I'm kinda musing aloud: So the God Alloys are based off the original 16 metals: e.g. Orginal Metal + God Metal = God Alloy. And I think there was a WoB of the God Metals making an Alloy out of each other: e.g. Atium + Lerasium = Atium Misting + ?? So that means that the God Alloys have a 17th alloy. Wait.. or 18 if you include Harmonium. Could other God Metals like Trellium come into play on this? Could Trellium product another 16 possibilities? (not including God on God alloys) It has been confirmed that Trellium is a God Metal, or am I imagining this? If that's the case than... So we add the possible combination of God Shard merges, on top of the 16 God Metal Alloys they could make.. ** owwww ** I tried to calculate the possibilities, but it hurt my head.. Anyone out there enjoy Math enough to figure that out..? Tangential Theory: Assuming I'm correct in the above possible God Metal combo's. What if everyone born on Scadrial has the potential to become an Allomancer (Misting) but they either: Didn't Snap and / or Never had the chance as their Metal didn't exist at the time.. *~ HIF ~*
  18. Ok, I had a quick look and haven't notice anyone point this out yet.. We know that Topaz is one of Hoids names. And so I Wiki'd Topaz and the great god of Wiki states: "Topaz is a silicate mineral of Aluminum" And what do we know so far about Aluminum: ** Can't remember the exact phrase, but WoB stated Aluminum is like... Anti-Investiture..? ** Scadrial Allomancy: Burning aluminum causes the body to instantly metabolize its metal reserves without any other effect ** Now that sounds awfully Annoying, not unlike Hoid.. ** Feruchemy: An aluminum Ferring is known as a Trueself. Aluminum is used to store "spiritual sense of identity." ** Hoid doesn't have a thing about Identity now does he? ** Hemalurgy: When used as a Hemalurgic spike, aluminum steals enhancement Allomantic powers. ** Sounds like Duraluminum Allomancy.. Hmmm, I'm trying to link this to Hoid but I can only come up with something about Hoid and how he pushes our Heroes ** It kinda negates Allomancy; Can't be pushed / pulled, wearing an Aluminum Hat stops the voices, can't heal around aluminum. I'm sure there's more here, but.. Moving on.. ** From here I'm going to stop calling the "Aluminum Effect" annoying and we can take it for granted, ay? ** Sel Known as Ralkalest in the Rose Empire, aluminum cannot be altered at all via Forgery Dang, nothing noted on the Coppermind about Jindo and the Dor priest magic vs Aluminum ** Anyone know anything here, as this is annoying (see what I did there?) ** Nalthis Aluminum cannot be Awakened. It is possible for Aluminum to prevent someone from Returning, but it cannot be achieved with simple methods such as stabbing them ** Sooo, can we store breaths in an Aluminum object? ** Roshar Items can be Soulcast into Aluminum. It is unknown if the Aluminum can then be Soulcast into other Essences. ** Hmm, just like Mistborn - Can Stormlight heal around Aluminum? ** Other Worlds Not really sure, but I'm betting on Aluminum has some quite interesting effects throughout the other cosmere worlds.. Does anyone have any thing else to add regarding the "Aluminum Effect"? So looking at this and knowing Mr S is very deliberate in his wordings. This makes me think that Hoids being called Topaz is very profound. Questions: Was Hoid given the name Topaz or did he take it? Is the name Topaz in relation to something he can do or his personality? If Hoid eats a some Topaz what happens? Can Topaz be infused? (e.g. with Stormlight, though not exclusive) I'm sure there's more question we could ask here, but I'll leave it to you guys to help me find them. Soooo.. Thoughts people..? *~ HIF ~*
  19. We should also consider that Senna may be a sibling. *~ HIF ~*
  20. Yes, Hoid is still upset that Kaladin lost his flute.. Regarding the cologne scenario, it was obviously a misdirection. Beggars don't smell nice. And thinking about it, Hoid and Kel's animosity could be related to how similar their personalities are: They're both rebellious, go against the grain. Kinda do what they want and enjoy the "con", on top of they can be quite annoying and tend to be very proud of this. @Yata is correct, if Hoid wanted to, he could have seriously hurt Kel. Hoid did try to get through this without confrontation, but Kel knows a con when he sees one.. Also, after thrashing Kel he was a bit sincere when he said something along the lines of: "You've done what I wanted / You're not suppose to be here / You're a wild card I'd rather not deal with right now". Than he taught Kel a lesson about how he's not really hurt and it's all in his head. Hoid does like his profound lessons. If you think about it, Hoid was very nice here. Kel started it. Hoid finished it. And than had the decency to help Kel out. *~ HIF ~*
  21. Also, I just had a thought that we should also consider there is a third lot of 16 God Metal Alloys based on Harmonium. yeah? *~ HIF ~*
  22. Wait! Wait, wait, wait.! So there are 16 "original" metals, and 16 x2 God Metal alloys. Sooooo... If Gold + Atium = Melatium. (God Metal Alloy) Does that mean it's not of the "original" 16 metals and we're missing one? *~ HIF ~*
  23. Well far be it from me to talk about Hoids Origin and motivation (wasn't around back than sorry). But let's not forget that Hoid rarely lies and he does quite enjoy his abstract metaphors.. Hoid talking about himself starting out as an idea, words on a page that he ended up stealing etc, could be in relation to how he became who he is and not how he was.. Born? But, while we're at it let's run with the idea that it is relating to Hoids birth. I see where you're coming from Yata, I think I may have a memory of a WoB stating Hoid as a human on Yolen (remember Mr S is quite sneaking in his revelations) . I'm thinking, is it possible for someone as powerful as Uncle Andy to create a human based on a character of one of his favorite stories / fairy tales created by the Yolenese? *~ HIF ~*
  24. Ahhhh.. The Truth in the Lies and the Lies in the Truth. On occasion I have pondered this philosophy, though not in relation to the Cosmere.. It appears to be the alternating sides of the same coin. Now you've gone and made me wonder the nature (intent) of the coin.. There's always another Secret
  25. Well, just as long as I can share my puns and eat the pie too I think we'll get along just fine I should warn you though, I am fond of lame jokes.. p.s. Is cookie dough out also?
