    I don't mind posting a part, however, what should we do about the scene between Lord Kelvin and Arachnerd that @VanillaDCocoKing and @Hemalurgic Headshot wrote, since I think that might need to be posted first, since Lord Kelvin and Arachnerd appear at the stadium as well afterwards?

    Oh wow, I had almost forgotten about this thread. Sure, whatever sounds good. If we can kick the Meeting into gear, we may declare it the conclusion (for now) of WHiE.

    Stalkers, in case I die, post your results in-thread tomorrow, for reasons.

    As for targets, Winsting, we've talked.

    Village bartender, target someone who hasn't really been helping the thread, like HH.

    Extortionist(s), Extort onto a different suspect from the list, naming Bleeder's kill.

    And I'm a stalker, as well as basically confirmed, so PLEASE DON'T screw with my action. We can't afford that at this point in the game.

    Excuse me, I've been trying to be helpful, but I don't find it helpful to simply rehash what's already been thoroughly discussed. That simply clogs up the thread in an already very active game. I've been checking in on voting discussion, I've been trying to do analysis.

    I wouldn't take offense if you simply didn't think I was helpful, you can think what you like, but I don't like being called out for a kill.

  3. Vote Tally

    Coda (1): DeTess, Megasif
    Pyro (2): Silberfarben, TJ Shade
    HH (1): Megasif
    Wilson (1): Matrim, Wilson
    Bugsy (0): Sart
    Devotary (0): Matrim

    Sart (3): Bugsy, Pyro, Matrim
    Matrim (1): Sart

    I find it interesting that Matrim has changed his vote twice. I'm definitely suspicious (of him), but currently the focus is finding Bleeder. The main Bleeder arguments I've seen are Bugsy (Sart), Sart (Bugsy), and Matrim (Sart). Note: two of these are from Sart, who is a target himself.

    Bugsy

    There are four possibilities I can see:

    1. Bleeder scanned someone, rather than killing. I find this possibility unlikely. Killing is inherently more beneficial to Bleeder, because it still reduces the suspect pool for Flogs, while weakening the other factions. It's not impossible, but I'm not going to dwell on this possibility.
    2. Bleeder attacked Araris. Again, this feels unlikely. It would mean Araris has gotten a serious reputation, because both the serial killer and the elims tried to kill him, and a villager removed his vote. If that's the case, poor Araris. I can't rule it out entirely, but I'll move on.
    3. Bleeder's kill was blocked by an Escort. At this point, I would recommend any Escort's who used that action Cycle 1 to reveal themselves. That could be the key to revealing Bleeder's true identity. Based on the number of asleep people, two Escorts used their action on Cycle 1. If you are one of those two, now is the time to reveal your role.
    4. Bleeder was inactive Cycle 1. This requires a player who forgot to send an action during the first cycle, but has been active ever since. The only player I can see doing that is @Bugsy. His only post Cycle 1 was apologizing because he had an essay due. I can see a scenario where Bugsy as Bleeder posts that quick snippet, but fails to send in an action.

    I find Case 3 particularly appealing, but since I did not have the ability to roleblock anyone, I can't contribute much. I see Case 4 as another possibility, so my vote goes on Bugsy for now.

    It is convenient to focus on possibility #4 because it narrows down our suspects. I agree with Sart's approach to #3. However, #1 breaks our chances of a clean process of elimination. While killing is more effective for Bleeder, C1 is the most likely time for Bleeder to use her scan. Throwing around too many kills could making it easier for others to track her down faster.

    I didn't have the time I needed to useful to the lynch on Cycle 1, but I found enough time to post and let you all know where I'd be. It'd have been kinda dumb for me to do that and not use my action that turn, especially if I had a role as big as Bleeder :P

    I can confirm I did take an action on Cycle 1, and an extortionist redirected it so I targeted myself. I don't know who that extortionist was, but they can verify that claim if they're willing to make themselves known.

    My best guess is that your cases 2 or 3 happened. Pyro seems to believe that Araris was double tapped, and the escorts seem to be the most rational alternative if that isn't true.

    Bugsy's alibi holds up, but there is still the possibility that Bleeder!Bugsy used the scan. This extortionist is likely the same one that trolled Pyro.

    Sart

    15 hours ago, Bugsy said:

    Hmm. Actually, Sart, I'm rather suspicious of you at this point.

    You know perfectly well that if a Bartender targets Pyro, the elims will likely have their bodyguard protect him the same night. Yet you say that if he survives the kill, you'd consider lynching him as a Bleeder candidate. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense from the perspective of anyone but someone trying to accomplish a mislynch, and the only person who wants a mislynch right now is Bleeder.

    Also, you don't want the elims knowing who Winsting is, which puts him entirely in the line of fire for the night kill these next few cycles. Again, that's not a fantastic outcome for anyone but Bleeder, since it risks an instant loss for both factions on a single unlucky kill order.

    You also know Wilson's Impersonator role, and Bleeder has a role scan as one of her abilities. Wilson's got a reputation like the one you talked about Araris not having, and it'd make sense for Bleeder!You to scan her C1 if you didn't want to risk killing the Dowser or the 8th Octant Constable.

    So, yeah. Sart, at least for now.

    This all lines up. Sart's knowledge of Wilson's roles is the biggest thing for me in this accusation. Sart does have an alibi, which is included in the quote below:

    12 hours ago, Sart said:

    Also an interesting claim. Unfortunately, it creates an IKYK. That stands for "I Know You Know". Suppose you are Bleeder, and your action was blocked Day 1. You know the thread would be suspicious if you said nothing, so you tell the truth that you were targeted. But I know that you know that, so I still suspect you. But you know that I know that, so you still claim anyway. But I know you know... This repeats ad infinitum, and gets into mind games. I'm curious as to who else was blocked, but for now Matrim's Dice

    Well, I have something of an alibi. I'm a Smuggler, and I removed Rae's vote cycle one. In retrospect, I should have removed other votes on Cycles 2 & 3, but I didn't due to the whole bandwagon situation. It's not a perfect alibi, but taking a page from Elkanah's book, do you really think Bleeder would use vote manipulation rather than a kill or scan. Admittedly, I was in some hot water, so vote manipulation wouldn't have been the worst idea, but I had already voted in self-preservation. I'll be removing a vote this cycle as well to prove my claim. Bleeder obviously isn't going to take time off from killing, since they are so close to winning.

    Sart says it himself, this alibi has some flaws. But with anything, it could or could not happen. Generally, this alibi doesn't change anything, and requires we wait out the cycle to confirm. Unfortunately, we can't really do that.

    Matrim

    Sart's accusation of Matrim is based on IKYK, which is by nature confusing and doesn't present much evidence. I am already suspicious of Matrim, but I think it is much more likely that he is an Elim. Sart's shift of attention to Matrim also makes me more suspicious of Sart.

    I'm most suspicious of Sart.

  4. I went back to do some analysis, and there are a lot of posts to sift through!

    Elkanah

    Did not vote C1 and voted on Fura C2. They approached the outing of Straw very cautiously, yet decided not to vote on them, instead focusing on Fura.

    Quote

    I need to sleep, for now I'll vote on Furamirionind. Straw is very lynched so it doesn't especially matter for whom I vote.

    I read this as distancing. Elk expressed mild suspicion of Fura throughout C2, but there they didn't bring much evidence forward. Since we know that Fura was a Constable, this puts Elk in a better light, but its seems their vote on Fura was more of a distraction from the main Straw lynch. Add in this role conundrum and I'm pretty suspicious of them.

    I know, but lynching pyro this cycle makes the lynch pretty much a foregone conclusion, which reduces the amount of info from discussion we get. Unless you have reason to believe pyro has role we need to take off the field right now, I think lynching Pyro this cycle rather than leaving him to the bartenders will do more harm than good because it means we lose quite a bit of momentum wrt discussion.

    Understandable. I agree. I'm putting my vote on Elkanah for now, but like Kynedath, I'll see how the cycle progresses.

  5. 4 hours ago, DeTess said:

    Given the amount of extra kills, there were at least two village bartenders, though one of those might have been Striker. Still, that means we've got one left. For this reason, I'd like to say I'm against lynching Pyro this cycle, despite them being a revealed elim. We know there are village bartenders that could take care of that, and going for a lynch on another revealed elim again could end up with us short on info afterwards. So, having said that I'm going to put a vote on the archivist for now. Among those living and not pyro, I'm most suspicious of Archivist and Sart right now.

    Why would you be opposed to lynching Pyro this cycle? Bartenders can't kill until next cycle.

  6. I'm going to pretend that Karnage didn't just do that. Yeah.

    The village's main objective is to kill all the Constables. All Bleeder needs to do is kill Winsting, who doesn't exist until Flogs dies. The ones really in a mess here are the Elims, because their objective is the slowest burning. They have to disperse the party, which can be achieved through a perfect storm of inactivity, Escorts, and death. Flogs doesn't really need to tie into that.

    The real question is if the Gambling Tycoon ability was burned off by the lynch last cycle or if Flogs' ability superseded it. If it wasn't, then Karnage is still immune to kills this cycle. If not, then he's toast. @A Joe in the Bush in a purely hypothetical situation, if the player with the Flogs role happened to also have the Gambling Tycoon role, and was lynched, would the lynch count for that "first time you would die"?

  7. I haven't said much because I remember now that I'm frankly poor at analysis. Often, I can make up for that with RP, but in this game, and especially C1, my flowery prose cannot help me.

    About my "waffling": in all my time as an SE player, I still haven't surmounted the D1 lynch question. Even now. I see both sides of the issue, but I can't come to a firm personal conclusion that I'll take to every game. Of course, now that there are a handful of lynch candidates being pushed, a discussion on why not to have a lynch is futile (though we could still pull it off).

    Let's have a look at the lynch then:

    Four players have met the three vote minimum: Sart (4), Straw (3), Karnage (4), and TGK (3). The almighty Joe has said that ties result in both parties killed. With this in mind, it would be possible to have a 4-way tie. That gives us a potential for 6 deaths C1 (that might be a record...). I don't like that number; I think it is too high. So, I think we need to consolidate our votes, or else we'll end up with a mountain of corpses.

    Of the 4 candidates here, I don't feel strongly about any of them. Sart doesn't really give me any bad vibes. Straw has been an amazing contributor, and so I would hate to lose them so early. Karnage's posts have been hit-and-miss, but that is mostly a gut read. Finally, TGK is a new player, and I don't have a good feel for them yet. Thus, I have no conclusions.

    I'll put my vote where it won't do much damage. Matrim's Dice, though your posts have been largely NAI, I have an off gut read about you.

  8. Lord Verduex sighed when the first shots rang out. Why is so hard to have a party in Elendel these days?

    \ With both Elims and a SK around, there will be plenty of kills each cycle. The lynch will certainly hasten that. Normally, I shy away from a cycle 1 lynch, because the chance of hitting an elim or getting useful, usable information out of it is low. With at least two deaths coming each cycle, adding another C1 is a bit much.

    However, as has been mentioned before, these kills are likely to be village, as the Constables are aware of who the non-Constables are. If Bleeder attacks this cycle, she'll be shooting blind, so there's a higher chance of Elims dying to Bleeder early on. The lynch is the village's opportunity to direct a kill, but as I mentioned above, our chances of hitting elims are low, and for Bleeder even lower. Though, it would be amusing if we lynched Bleeder C1...

  9. The University was put in lockdown after the massacre, as it was called by most. Students were sent home, authorities prowled the campus, and the Crockery was emptied. Under normal circumstances, the widespread release of largely unstable people would be met with alarm and protest, but the Crockery discharge paled in comparison to the Massacre on the Horns. This discharge was in part due to the surprising amount of nobles that had been admitted to the Crockery; their houses came calling once news spread and demanded they be released.

    This was how Onur walked out of the Crockery, after spending most of a year inside the padded cell. He left walls covered in scrawled notes, arranged in a fashion that only he would understand. His whole life, it seemed, was left on those walls. The Onur before this incident would have scrambled to save those notes, to hoard their knowledge; the Onur now walked slowly behind his parents' steward to the carriage, determined and different. He could remember, now.

    And he had some questions that needed answering.

    Thank you, @little wilson and @Elbereth! This was a crazy game, and you guys put so much work into it. I'm just a little sad that I got put out of commission so early on :P.

    For the thread: I continued to do RP through the GM PM after my insanity. It provides some basis for the change that has come over Onur.

  10. The University stands as a monument to learning, as any educational institution should. It represents generations of academic tradition and excellence, infused with the ancient stone like a marinade in chicken. As silent as gravestones among the snowdrifts, the buildings of the University were truly an impressive sight.

    A sight that Onur only briefly gazed upon. He was cold; a breeze had picked up on his way over and his coat didn't have a collar ridiculously high enough to protect his ears. As he speed-walked through the campus, anxious to find some warmth, he realized that he did not have a destination in mind. He had made it to the University (check), but now what? He glanced about and saw a few students briskly walking across the way to a building. Perhaps their next class? Onur wondered. It seemed as good an idea as any to tag along, so he raced off in their direction.

    Onur reached the door just as it was swinging shut behind the students. He squeezed through with a swirl of snowflakes and relaxed in the fresh warmth of the interior. After a pleasant second, he looked around and spotted the students disappearing around a corner. They hadn't noticed his intrusion.

    Now alone, Onur was beset with indecision. Should he follow them? He could possibly make some new friends. He did like the sound of that, but he also couldn't remember enough of about himself to make small talk. He dug through his pockets and pulled out a random paper. 3 bass, 2 perch. Fish... Onur was pretty sure those were fish--or instruments. Maybe he was a musician? Or a recreational fisherman. Both? He stuffed the slip of paper back into his pocket and followed the students.

  11. A man stood in the street. Rather ordinary by general standards, though a more thorough appraisal would note the fine weave of his clothes, his refined posture, and the soft skin of hands unaccustomed to manual labor. This man was well off, indeed, though it wasn't glaring. And he was standing in the street.

    Standing in the street is not a great thing to do because of traffic, so the man wandered off to the curb and leaned against a wall. Though he was doing his best to appear in control of his situation, as he knew he should, he had absolutely no idea what exactly he was doing here. Judging by the plentiful notes crammed into his pockets, he was prone to amnesia. He pulled out one of these notes now and examined it. It was crumpled and folded from his pocket, but it read go to university. The man looked down the street, where the University rose in the distance, old buildings distinct from the city, bastions of knowledge, and his destination.

    The man looked down at his feet, and a thought wormed its way through his head: How will I get in? Do I tell them my name? This thought sparked the startling revelation that he did not in fact know his own name. He frantically dug through his pockets in a blizzard of paper scraps, searching for a hint of his name. Finally, he found something that solved both of his immediate problems: an acceptance letter. Brilliant! He thought as he scanned the document.

    Onur Setyn

    That was his name. Onur Setyn. Yes, him. A smile split Onur's face. A clue! A relic of his identity, now revealed. He clutched the letter in his hand and strode off towards the University to continue his future.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I will withhold any true analysis until I can confidently say I understand what is going on. Until then, I will make use of Straw's marvelous graphs.
    Karnage, this complaint is not out of any ill will or retaliation. It is simply because all of the bold text in your post hurts my eyes.
  12. This was quite the game to play! I had a lot of fun playing this. I decided to start off as a run-of-the-mill agent of chaos, and I was surprised how much my random actions incited discussion and suspicion. However, my definite highlight of the game was teaming up with @Elbereth (who sends so many PMs!). Aman, I've got to say, you can put a spin on anything. Your gilded words never cease to amaze me.
    And thank you GMs for putting this together. Very fun.
  13. 16 minutes ago, Coda said:
    You named me your heir, or at least claimed to. If you are lying, you are an elim. If you are telling the truth, I get lots of items and next cycle I will lynch Aman. Win-win for me. I had a PM with Aman, but he didn't reason your death very well. I simply analyzed your benefit to me was more if you were dead.
    Unfortunately, I was roleblocked last night, and my Heiring action was blocked. So you aren’t my heir.
  14. Well, unless I want to die, Aman. Now, the Pain Knife hasn't gone anywhere, so with the votes tied like this it is likely I'm going to die. And if that happens, I would like everyone to kindly lynch Aman, who will have avoided the lynch twice that way.
    @Coda I'd like to know your reasoning behind your vote on me. You agree with Aman, but I personally doubt the soundness of Aman's conclusions. Right now, you stand between life and death (my life and death, that is). I'd very much prefer to live.
  15. Well, this is a conundrum. Aman has made me really think about his alignment. Storms, he's even made me really think about my alignment. Am I really a Rat? What am I doing on Roshar? These are the things that happen when stuff gets big-brained around here. Nevertheless, something must be done. Coda, this is not the time for tied votes. El is makes a good point about the Pain Knife. If you are going to tie the vote, you have to do it at the last second, like I did;).
    I am going to stand with El here. Not only is she sticking up for me :P, she has made some good points. I'm less inclined to believe Aman's position, because most of it hinges on me being evil, and I know I'm not evil. So Aman.
  16. N1, I created a PM with Striker. I picked him solely because he was one of the few that seemed suspicious of me, and I wanted to follow up. He told me he wanted to form a plan, and wanted to get some more players in on it. The best way of that would have been for me to pass him the spanreed, but we ran out of time in the cycle (That’s why our PM is called Last Second, @Amanuensis). I wanted to hear what Striker has planned, but he kind of put it off and then became less active. I waited to hear what the plan was before I actually passed him the spanreed, but that didn’t happen.
    Though I had an individual PM with Striker, we never exchanged any role or item information other than that I have a spanreed. We didn’t even use it after the group PM was made.
  17. I have literally no solid suspicions. As things stand, Drake is lynched, that happens. However, if I were to place my vote on Sart, there is a chance that we figure out Sart's alignment and a chance we figure out Drake's alignment. I honestly don't have strict opinions on who it is, because honestly anyone could be an Elim. I have no idea.
