  1. I think something that we've failed to consider is the effects of proto-Radiants. Taking Erunion's example: pre-TFE Scadrial and just-before-WoK Roshar, both fighting over some third planet, here's my analysis: If the Nahel bond still works on other planets, (if it doesn't, perhaps we should consider whether the power of Allomancy would work on Planet-3) there would likely be many proto-Radiants in the Army that the Rosharans bring to Planet-3. Most wouldn't even be likely to have spoken any oaths, it would likely be a bunch of soldiers with weird spren following them around for some reason. Now consider how we've gotten our stories proto-Radiants turned into full Radiants. Kaladin had to survive on the worst military job ever, then had to save a Highprince, then had to stop two shardbearers from killing the king. Dalinar, a general of the army, willingly entered the Nahel bond just to keep his people alive. A similar case can be made for Shallan. In most cases, these people become Radiants from necessity. To protect and to serve. Can you imagine how many proto-Radiant soldiers would quickly find themselves glowing in a situation as desperate as two planets clashing against each other? With armies facing up against blue-skinned monstrosities? Spiked-through powerhouses and people that can manipulate armor? The threat of spies impersonating commanders, generals being killed in the night? If the Rosharans ever found themselves being routed and slaughtered at the hands of TLR's Mistborn, you can bet that they would be quickly retaliating with some 80-800 Radiants glowing like crazy. And no amount of Allomantic Soothing can convince a skaa that their not about to die at the hands of the GUY THAT'S FREAKING GLOWING WITH WHITE FIRE. Even if the Rosharans would have a hard time supplying large quantities of stormlight-filled gems, Radiants don't really need too much stormlight. Even small amounts inside a proto-to-full-fledged Radiant would turn them into an ultra-effective-practically-unkillable fighting machine. It's the difference between a Tank, and Iron Man. And even if you had conserve battery power, some 800 Iron Men would be an incredible advantage. TL;DR Proto-Radiants finding themselves in an inter-planetary war would quickly turn into a massive magical advantage for Team Roshar.
  2. I think it's safe to say that any Mistborn/Full Feruchemist that found their way to Roshar would find that they're extremely powerful. But imagine a Fullborn... someone with that much power could wipe out the Parshendi in a day, destroy Alethkar's Shardbearers in a week, lay waste to the Eastern Kingdoms in a Year... The next question should be, what's worse? A Fullborn bent on destroying the world, or the Final Desolation? Also on the argument of Kelsier vs. Dalinar, I think you would have to consider motives. Kelsier would go all out trying to kill somebody just because they got in his way. Dalinar needs a bit more of a push to fight at full potential. If you had Kelsier just randomly attack Dalinar while he was alone on the Shattered Plains, Kelsier would win hands down. He has 16 different abilities that can all be used to either enhance or kill. Dalinar has Shards. If you threw Kelsier and Dalinar in a cage and told them to fight to the death, they would either, depending on Kelsier's mood at the time, fight to the death which would be a somewhat-fair to advantage-Kelsier battle, or they would turn on the idiot that thought putting them in a storming cage was a good idea. If Kelsier decided that the King/Navani/Adolin/literally anybody Dalinar cares about needs to die, and attempted to kill them, Dalinar would go super saiyan activate the Blackthorn and do a flying-knee-crash into Kelsier's face before he even knew what happened.
  3. Aiight so I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this, or even the first to share this here, but on the off chance I am, here we go. A paragraph in Eshonai's first chapter in Words of Radiance says: "What she wouldn't have given to be able to go among them unnoticed... Insead, she and the others had ordered the murder of the Alethi king in a desperate gambit to stop the listen gods from returning." We already know that the "listener gods" are actually Odium (and perhaps the Unmade?), and their power caused the Parshendi to turn into civilization-destroyers every Desolation. So this makes it seem like Galivar was trying to return the Desolation's, or at least was messing with things that would ultimately result in that. Then, much later in the book, Shallan infiltrates Amaram's house manor keep residence, and comes to the conclusion that he's trying to bring about the Desolations. It seems like the most rediculous thing ever, until Shallan later gets in the same room with "the madman". Amaram ends up entering that same room, where, upon expecting the madman, says: "Ah... Almighty above, ten names, all true. You are beautiful. Gavilar, we have done it. We have finally done it." *mic drop* Any doubt that Gavilar and Amaram weren't trying to bring back the Desolations has just gone out the window. Not only that, but we find out that they're working together. But why? Why would they want those horrifying events to come about again? Here's where it turns to speculation. Note here that towards the end of his life, before Galivar mistakenly made his intentions clear to the Parshendi, he focus on the codes of Honor. He read the Way of Kings. He 'blathered' on about how things used to be. I propose that Galivar was trying to bring a return to the days before the last Desolation. I believe that what ever educated him on the matters of Shards caused him to realize that, given enough time, humanity would weaken itself enough for Odium to be able to take over with ease. So what was he to do? He couldn't attempt to establish a new religion to educate people, even for the Alethi King it simply wouldn't be possible. I believe that, much like Tarangivan (I probably butchered the spelling on that one), he was trying to cause an event before the actual event. By bringing about the Desolations, the Heralds, and the Knights Radiant, humanity would gain it's former glory, and it's former defense against the onslaught of Odium. Yes it would be devastating. Yes it would kill billions. But it would be better than the permanent end of Humanity on Roshar. This is what got Amaram so excited when he saw the Herald. The arrival of the last Herald is the biggest sign of their success. It meant Radiants. It meant a devastating war that would snap humanity back into it's glorious, heroic state. And with that, I end. I completely expect to wake up in the morning with several holes punched through my perfectly wonderful theory, but that's okay. So I will get some sleep and bid you "Have at it lads!"
  4. *The Vending Machine spits out a rather frazzled looking Elvis Presley, he seems to be about 90 years old* *inserts glowing man dressed in white*
  5. My thoughts about Mistborn are basically this. Mistborn, of all his series, would fit best into a movie (at least in my opinion). Now, The Stormlight Archive on the other hand, I feel would fit best as some kind of animated show, since it would be able to best fit the amount of content in the books, and it would be able to portray the action scenes the best. (once again, in my opinion) I was actually shocked to hear that the first movie would be Way of Kings... sure hope they can come through with a good, and most importantly faithful, one. (They might pull a Marvel Studios and have the movies be a similar-yet-completely-different story, like some kind of... Cosmere Cinematic Universe) Aaannndd now I'm rambling, better just stop here before this turns into a wall of text
  6. This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Thank you *sniffles* Thank You
  7. I think in the end this is something that Sanderson's going to have to define more clearly in-story, likely via Khriss. Does Steelrunning actually make you go faster? Or does it change the way you travel through time?If a steelrunner jumped off a building while storing, would they fall more slowly, or would gravity affect them all the same? If gravity does affect them all the same, how are they able to justify slamming their legs into the ground 2000 times a minute without experiencing problems in the joints? Itty-Bitty BoM spoilers:
  8. (lol that was fast) Since you inserted all your peace, all you get is a sense of dread and emptyness! The machine gives you $1000 in an attempt to console you. *inserts all emotional problems in the form of a 3-hour rant*
  9. The vending machine looks upon your soul, and smiles! You obtained blissful peace! *inserts Christianity*
  10. This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen (with TLR's version of "You're welcome" taking close second). If Cosmere! The Musical ever happened, this would be a required musical number.
  11. You got a DeLorean! Unfortunately it doesn't time travel. *inserts Google's slogan*
  12. The vending machine compresses the clouds into a small hurricane, which it promptly spits back out at you. You are soaked by the hurricane raging in your immediate vicinity. People from the other end of the street point and take pictures of the sad man stuck under a singular raincloud. *inserts dramatic opening sequence*

Hey girl, I must be a Seer, because I'm seeing you in my future. *Disclaimer: make sure before using lines that target is not actually metalborn. I am not responsible if any coins find their way into your head*
  17. Aren't they? huh. Welp. The Shallan x Adolin ship sails on! I guess the only other reason it wouldn't work out is because like you said @maxal, he's not one of Sanderson's main characters... and as much as I like him he seems like the type that dies in a really cool way. (or a really tragic and sad way.)
  18. You got a piece of paper! It says "The Redcoats are coming!"... you don't understand why that's relevant... *inserts picture of freaking adorable pug*
  19. So... I could read everybody's opinion... or I could just post my own. First off, I want Shallan x Adolin. Adolin is a good guy, Shallan keeps him on his toes. They have good chemistry (at least I think so) and they make each other happy, which is the most important thing in a relationship. (I think) Thing is, I don't think it's going to happen. The-One-And-Only-Reason-My-Ship-Wouldn't-Work-Out (TOAORMSWWO): Adolin is not a Radiant. That's almost enough said. As Radiants, Shallan and Kaladin are practically immortal, and it doesn't take much thinking to now that a relationship where one person grows old and the other doesn't won't work out. Of course, Adolin could suddenly become a Radiant, but honestly, I don't think Brandon's going to do it. You can't have ALL the main characters becoming magic. (well... you can... but Sanderson's too good of a writer to do that. ) I predict that Shallan and Kaladin are going to be partners, but more in the way cops have partners, rather than romantic partners. Maybe they'll go through the ages working together as super-cops. Maybe there will be sparks flying. But that's how I see it going down. (But I still wish Shallan x Adolin would happen )
  20. You got a quirky Mexican sidekick that only speaks in a monotone! ...what was he doing in there? *inserts "chicken"*
  21. You get the man's magic powers!... and possibly his insanity? *inserts monetary system of Roshar*

  23. You get arrested! *inserts important documents*
  24. You get 13 firemarks! *inserts the entire of the raw investiture found inside a cow*
  25. I'ma upvote the OP, just because seeing negative vote counts makes me sad. On a more relevant note, I also don't like the term "awesomeness", as it the word kinda sticks out like a sore thumb in a Sanderson Novel, but I've learned to accept it
