  1. I concur that PM groups are a solidly awful idea.
  2. Steel stepped out of the Oathgate, wall of shining light dimming around him. Suddenly, he tensed up, and instinctively burned speed-steel. The world slowed down around him, and he saw his instincts of danger were correct- although what it was he had no idea. It seemed that a man in lightning was running around knocking out radiants, far faster than Steel knew was possible. How could he turn and weave so effectively? Steel could only run that fast when running in a straight line with Abrasion, and abrasion did not allow for such tight turns. What was he doing, sitting here thinking? Steel charged, summoning his shardblade. He raised it at the man, but the man was gone before he could bring the blade down. Then, he was hit in the side, throwing him to the ground. Steel groaned, and Phyl turned into a shield to protect him. "There you are! I've been looking for you," said the man. He was tall, brownish hair, and wore a shirt with a red lightning bolt on it. Odd. "I had been looking among the other edgedancers to find you, but they refused to tell me where you were. I need you to do me a favor, especially in light of the recent timeline shift." "What? Timeline shift?" Steel asked in utter confusion. Who was this man? How did he have such strange abilities? Steel had never seen modes of investiture like that before. His abilities were supposed to make him the fastest in the Cosmere. "Fear not, I will explain all. Please follow me." The man turned, but then looked back. Steel wasn't about to follow. He had Radiants to heal. "Look," sighed the man. "You aren't as fast as me. Either you follow me, or I kill all the radiants I deliberately only disabled. They'll be on their feet in a few minutes without your help. They have stormlight after all." Steel still didn't follow. "You made me do this." In a bolt of lightning, faster than even Steel could process, the man had picked up a radiant, and shoved a vibrating hand near her chest. "Last chance. Follow me, or she dies." Finally, Steel relented. "Fine, I'll go. Don't kill her, please." The man smirked, and bolted into Urithiru, evidently heading down the mountain the backdoor way. Steel took a glance at the people around him, who were getting up and breathing in stormlight to heal themselves. He looked at the girl the man had threatened, evidently a Windrunner from the color of her shardblade. "Will you be all right?" She asked. "Of course I will. But send someone after me if you don't receive a message in the next 3 days. Ok, I should go." And off Steel went, in the direction of the passageway into the heart of Urithiru.
  3. I'm having a weird day, and it doesn't fit in Good Day or Bad Day, so I'll put it here. First, I'm feeling super excited about Avengers Infinity War. The trailer was, to put it simply, awesome. So I'm feeling good about that. On the other hand, I'm feeling really crappy and worn out, because now I'm failing Calculus! It just gets harder and harder to put in the effort when I worked my butt off for this assignment, spent pretty much all day on it, using all my resources and got a 30%. I don't see why I should bother getting help, because I'm already in college, but at the same time I have expectations for my grades! So yeah. Dichotomy and stuff.
  4. In other news, I'm still not Odium. Apparently it was always Survival that would be released
  5. Well ok. So elbereth messed up the timeline. I thought that was Flash's job, but whatever
  6. This shardcast was fun for me. I had all sorts of comments- which thankfully Chaos would bring up a minute or two after they were thought of. And it's so nice to be right about Autonomy doing it to expand her power base. It makes so much sense theoretically and story wise.
  7. I will neither confirm nor deny any plans to SK everybody
  8. Fear not, Orlok, if I come up with any suspicions or ideas, i will share them. But I'm not going to be beating my head against a wall figuring out a strategy. I joined this game to do my RP, because strategically I've felt burned out.
  9. As I said before, I will be focusing on RP more this game (as clearly, I didn't get my wish to become Odium ). --- Steel jumped through Cultivation's perpendicularity into the physical realm, after having waved to the Cultivationspren who had sailed him there. Appearing in a pool in the Horneater peaks, he jumped out and slicked his way down the mountain. There wasn't much like slicking your way down a mountain, dodging boulders, a spren by your side. He whooped as he jumped off a rock, and landed back on the steep slope. It was cold up in these mountains, but with his typical steel armor, he was still pretty warm. Once he reached the bottom of the mountain, he took out a map of Roshar. He needed to make his way to Urithiru, so he could meet up with some other Edgedancers. It seemed like the closest one would be in Jah Keved, so he pulled out a full metalmind, swallowed it, and slicked himself with stormlight from his medallion. And then he ran. When you moved this fast, you had to do quick Vs, and lean forward heavily if you had any hope of staying on your feet. He blurred across the landscape. Steel set him free. There was nothing like the rush of the wind, the feeling of unstoppable motion. Within an hour, he had burned through two metalminds, but arrived to Jah Keved. He nodded to the Radiant on guard there, summoned his shardblade, and transported to Urithiru.
  10. Time to get myself a Twitter account
  11. Elbereth? Is that where elbereth name comes from?
  12. Or Ruin. Ruin would be... no fun at all either. Reallly don't want to be ruin either.
  13. Ooooh. Sk. Definitely don't want odium now. Definitely.
  14. Welcome to our bloody and murderously friendly community!
  15. I think it might be a combination of both. For example, I think the healing thing might very well be because... Voidlight is a poor approximation of stormlight? It's trying to copy something, but its not quite the same. But, I think the fused having only one surge ability is not because of the voidlight, but a result of whatever process actually gave them their ability to use surges (because as far as I am aware, we have only ever seen fused use one surge, rather than two). I also think the Voidlight is able to be held indefinitely because of their gemhearts, although we will see what Venli is able to do now that she is a Radiant. She'll be the perfect test subject to compare all our theories to. But yeah, it makes sense that the nature of Voidlight would have at least something to do with some of the differences.
  16. Steel compounding edgedancer, the Cosmere flash. Nuff said.
  17. I did a whole thought thing on how similar they are. If only people had read them so I could use them in church
  18. And I would probably be annoyed if he wasn't like this. It wouldn't make sense characterwise for him to just tell everything. So I can understand it being annoying, but people are annoying. Makes him feel more real, instead of convenient.
  19. I still think Dawnshards are plagues from Ashyn *shrug*
  20. The thing is- keeping things bottled up is totally realistic. I know sometimes I can keep things bottled up, especially because after my trust has been broken a couple times, its hard for me to invest my trust and talk again. The only person Kaladin can really talk to is Syl, because he doesn't trust. I think it makes sense characterwise, given his experiences of being broken over and over. I never have felt like it was a ploy for the plot, but that it felt totally self consistent, especially as I can personally relate to that kind of shying back from interactions and trust.
  21. I think spiritually they are. They're a mess from all the investiture use. Not savants perse, but absolutely warped by the investiture.
  22. Unless said Steel Compounder became an edgedancer
  23. Oh yeah, those sexy eyebrows. Gettin all the ladies.
