Long Game 54: Cognitive Diversions
Steeldancer replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Night 4- Sudden Death "You know, that Hjalar fellow. We've almost lynched them every single day so far. How about we actually just, you know, lynch them today?" "Yes, sure! Let's lynch them!" Hjalar did not like this turn of events. She did not like the idea of being stuck in a dank dungeon with a bunch of moaning or insane spren. "I object. I very much dislike this idea, and would rather that that funny looking spren over there get lynched." All eyes turned to Lymelis who was sporting quite the impressive mustache. Thing was, spren couldn't grow mustaches. Lymelis was, unfortunately, completely unable to explain why he was wearing a mustache. He tried to explain it away as fashion, but honestly, come on. There was nothing more stereotypical than the villain having a long mustache that they could curl and twist as they plotted to destroy Shadesmar. They all jumped on him, and ripped off his mustache. To their shock he was... exactly the same, but without a mustache. "Look, my brand new Radiant insisted that I try the mustache on," he finally admitted. But the mustache was offensive to the spren of celebrant, and they locked him up without listening to another of his silly excuses. However, they quickly realized that they had made a mistake, and looked around for someone to blame it on. One particularly crazy spren screamed "IT'S ALL SARTRAS'S FAULT! DIE YOU HUMANISTIC SCUM!" And proceeded to burn Sartras beyond recognition. And so the day ended, with Snip holding a mustache, wondering what the heck had just happened during that day. ______ TheMightyLopen (Lymelis) has been lynched! He was a Stoneward Stonespren! Sart (Sartras) has been killed! He was an Inkspren! Lumgol has recovered from burns. Ark has also recovered from burns. TheMightyLopen (Lymelis) (7): Devotary (Meladian the Lightspren), Furamirionind (Fyrul), Levitaph (Lyvit), Lumgol (Hjalar, a lightspren), Rathmaskal (DrizzleFather), Sart (Sartras), Lumgol (Hjalar, a lightspren) (2): Ark1002 (Nightshade), TheMightyLopen (Lymelis) Xinoehp512 (Finanik) (1): Dr. Dapper (Ji the crazyspren) PMs are still open! Make sure to include Mailliw and I in ALL PMS. This turn will end on 4/30/19, at 8:00 EDT. Here are the rules.- 528 replies

Would saving Taln from torture break the stormlight archive? Probably. Do I care? Not particularly.
-
I prefer not to be in any “anti” gangs. I prefer my membership in the “Pro-Taln Love” Gang. And Taln is the character I would save, because he deserves nothing but love and appreciation for his greatness.

Eh, Amaram isn’t that great. I think he deserved the death he got, even if he isn’t as bad as Moash. I guess this gets into why Moash is worse than Amaram. Moash had the chance to be better, to choose to take responsibility for his actions and be like kaladin. Instead he chose to give up. Amaram isn’t as bad because... well he was genuinely misguided and took his actions in a perveted view of what is right and wrong. But he wasn’t trying to be evil, you know? Moash is choosing to be evil, to just give in and shove the responsibility on someone else, making him all the more evil in our eyes.

Long Game 54: Cognitive Diversions

I am going to change rollover for this cycle to 8PM EDT, so an hour later than it is. Because apparently a ton of things in my life happen at 7PM EDT. I might keep it at 8, depending on what my schedule ends up being in the future. Thanks for being understanding.- 528 replies

Eh... I agree with the theory that Ash will be a dustbringer, it just makes too much sense. But the thing is, I don’t think that’s going to happen until the back 5. I’ve felt like the dustbringer Brandon talked about was going to be a radiant more like Malata or Stump, radiant, but not KEY radiants, you know? Ash will need to go through some serious character development in order to bond a spren, and as of this point, she hasn’t had the screentime, and she likely just won’t have the screentime until the back half. That all being said, if Ash does end up being the new Dustbringer, I would be thrilled. Anything that allows me to learn more about the oaths of the Dustbringers is a good thing.

Presumably Jasnah and Nale have shardplate. Shallan may or may not have shardplate. Dalinar has expressed proto shardplate. And we’re not going to learn about it until we get a climactic Kaladin moment, most likely. Until then we just argue whether shardplate is made of stormlight or spren.

I concur with this point. More Taln is good. Even more Taln is better. All the Taln is all the best. Balat being a Dustbringer would be REALLY cool, and would make a lot of sense honestly. The general, knowing nothing about him, might make more sense as a Stoneward. After all, cohesion could melt bonds as well.

Excluding yourself, how many toasters do you own?

Chana drives me nuts as well. Seriously, is Liss Chana or is she not? And what happened to Liss in regards to Aesudan if she was Chana? So many QUESTIONS. other obsessions include Talns past, which I’m obsessed with. And how the Spiritual Realm works. And trying to figure out how Taldains FTL tech is going to work, as it’s the planet I’m most stumped on.

Day 4- Shady Confusion Cadaci flew through the air with his full Radiant. His radiant had bonded him long before any attack on Celebrant. And with gravitation, they ruled the skies. That didn't last very long, as a dark streak came at them. Another radiant? He never really was exactly saw what it was, as it attacked both him and his Radiant with a deadly shardblade. His vision went black. Death wasn't fun. Elsewhere in the city, Nightshade attempted to dodge fire that was flying all over the place. Had a dustbringer actually gone insane and started throwing fire everywhere? He eventually got pinned down by a fire blast and was burnt. Finally, a cryptic decided to be a messenger of messages. And all breather a sigh of relief, as all prepared to reveal all their dark secrets to everyone who asked them for them. ______ CadCom was killed! They were a Skybreaker Highspren! Ark was Burnt! Lumgol is still Burnt! PM'S ARE NOW OPEN. MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE ME AND MAILLIW IN ALL PMS. The turn will end at 7PM EDT, 4/29/19. Here are the rules.- 528 replies

The night will end on time, at 7. The new day might take a little longer than normal to put up. I don’t have Mailliw around to help me with the spreadsheet and I don’t know how long I’ll be staying at my grandparents house tonight. I’ll do my best to get it up as soon as possible, and have everything be accurate. If I miss something tonight, please let me know.- 528 replies

Hey everyone who commented on this thread, I asked brandon about it at FanX a week ago, and he basically confirmed it! I'll post the WoB on here once it gets uploaded to Arcanum, but I'm really fascinated to see what else there is to the alcubierre drive besides just the bubbles. -

If anyone didn't receive their PM containing their 5 stormlight, congrats, you have 5 stormlight. You're a winner! Also, the stormfather CAN be converted. However, he can only be converted when he only has a single life left, as is stated in the rules.- 528 replies

Long Game 54: Cognitive Diversions
Steeldancer replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Night 3- A Night Light Ji and Snip lay on their beds, in pain. The Stormfather saw the pain, the pain of all his children in the city. He saw that many of them were low on Stormlight, even those who had become bonded. He saw, and so he opened up the storm. All throughout the city of Celebrant, spheres came to life. It was a blessing from the Stormfather himself, and they celebrated briefly, exulting over their newly filled spheres. Finally, Meladian could create a soul, perhaps, for his homunculus. Finally, Ji and Snip could be healed. Finally, the spren had enough light to attempt to attack the spren who called himself Drizzlefather. A brave name, imitating the Stormfather. In the name of the Stormfather who had given them light, they attacked the Drizzlefather. However, the Drizzlefather managed to slip away from the well-lit side of Celebrant, into the shadows. In the meantime, a hunter pursued another spren, and flames consumed them. And now night had come. Well, no reason to pursue the Drizzlefather when they had stormlight to spend in bucketloads. Who knew what they could do with this wealth? A few, realistic spren hoped the light would finally allow them to begin eliminating the Enlightened spren they knew were among them. Shadows crept through the night. The light would hold them at bay for a moment, but the Stormfather could not simply drive away an Unmade. And the city of Celebrant was running out of time... ____ Rathmaskal (Drizzlefather) was lynched, but survived! Rathmaskal (DrizzleFather) (5): Devotary (Meladian the Lightspren), Furamirionind (Fyrul), Sart (Sartras), TheMightyLopen (Lymelis), Lumgol (Hjalar, a lightspren) (3): Cadmium Compounder (Cadaci), Dr. Dapper (Ji the crazyspren), Rathmaskal (DrizzleFather) TheMightyLopen (Lymelis) (2): Ark1002 (Nightshade), Lumgol (Hjalar, a lightspren) All spheres have been refilled by the Stormfather! Lumgol has been burned! Dr. Dapper and Snipexe were healed! PM's are still closed. Do not use them unless they reopen. The turn will end at 7:00 PM EDT, 4/27/19.- 528 replies
