Jes is using the Taylor Defense and last I checked, it wasn't damaged, so I suggest directing attacks to them instead.

I meant that either a lot of people used Lines of Forbiddance or a lot of people used Lines of Vigor. I wonder which way it skewed.

Oh wow. Either lots of players were playing it safe last cycle or we have a lot of roleblocks this round.

Long Game 69: The Politics of the Passions
Mint11 replied to Zillah's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Your green text says "Mist" instead of "Mint." I don't think we can rely much on the past playstyles of new players to clear them. If they've never been an elim, we don't know what they would do. If they have, then they're likely to evolve their deception tactics. Actually, looking back it this post, I'm surprised that so many people suspect me. Why would I out the rest of my team? Vapor, you could argue, they were a top lynch candidate, but why Experience? Especially when no one else had an elim read. Even if you suppose there's a four person elim team, which I find unlikely, it doesn't make sense. I can understand why people find me suspicious from D1, but I feel if there is any evidence after D1, it outweighs D1 evidence. D1 should mainly be used as primary evidence if there's nothing else since D1 is usually kind of a mess. @Ashbringer Could you elaborate more on why you find me suspicious? I feel like you've pointed out a couple of things through out the game but you're also not responding to my replies to your reasonings. If it comes down to it, I don't think I'll switch my vote for self preservation. I'm feeling that Ash and Kynedath are village right now, and I don't want to kill a villager and then drag on discussion of my lynch into the next cycle which would keep the spotlight off an elim. -

I can't speak for anyone else but I feel like he's flying under the radar and I don't have better leads. Their vote on Ash also seems somewhat defensive but that could be me tunneling. I also do not like this tie at all. And not just because I'm one of the top lynch candidates. -

I'm feeling kind of lost but I'll give some analysis a go. Kynedath: Mostly rules analysis on D1. On D2, asked for a summary of why people are suspicions of Vapor and against a Lotus lynch. Briefly mentions that they aren't on board with an Experience lynch on D3. I'm not sure what to make of their recent lack of activity. I'm tempted to be suspicious that we've seen little contribution from them re:lynch discussion, but would an elim hang back while they were a top suspicion? I was going to give them an elim read for flying under the radar, but flying under the radar is different from no activity at all, so I'll hold back on my suspicion for now. @Kynedath Thoughts on the game? Ashbringer: Votes for me very late D1, staying out of the Vapor/Mist lynch, which I initially found suspicious. But he did vote on Experience not late into D3, and Experience voted on Ashbringer after their 3rd (4th?) vote switch so I'll... say village read for now. Pyro: Before this cycle, I would have said Pyro seems to be flying under the radar somewhat. They've been posting but the posts have been short, and they seem less active than usual. Experience's initial vote on D3 was Pyro but Experience switched to me very quickly, so I don't know if Experience's vote makes me think Pyro is more likely to be village. Not really sure what to think but I'm keeping an eye on them. Silb: Up for the lynch and hasn't posted minimally. Sharing Sart's scan results is a village move but I don't like how they've been staying under the radar. @Lord_Silberfarben what are your current reads? I got a passion of protection, and then a passion of passions which I used to choose protection. It did occur to me that Sart's the most likely to have protection but then I figured that if everyone who got protection figured that and decided not to protect Sart, or no one got protection... It didn't seem like a good reason not to protect him. A lot of people have been saying that they've found me suspicious, but it's mostly been based around gut reads so I'm not sure if there's much I can do about that. Also I'm a she -

I protected Sart again during the night. If any villager attempted vigilante justice, I suggest that they share it with the thread. If one of the killers wasn't village, it means we have two elims left. I would've guessed that there's one remaining. -

Who do you guys want to lynch D4? Does anyone have any other suspicions? I do think Experience is an elim but it's also kind of a shame their lynch gained so much traction so quickly. It seems to have killed discussion. -
Is this a rerun by any chance? It looks familiar but I guess that could also be because of the Rithmatist theme.

Long Game 69: The Politics of the Passions
Mint11 replied to Zillah's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm going to give Illwei a village read for their vote on Vapor D1: Given that it was a D1 vote, it could be distancing, but I don't think Illwei would've backed it up with solid reasoning if it was a distancing tactic. At least not without providing reasoning for multiple players to prevent drawing attention to Vapor. The only issue I have is how soon did Vapor announce in the elim doc that she was okay with dying? Did the other elims treat Vapor as a villager in the thread from the start, since Vapor was okay with sacrificing herself? If Experience turns out to be a villager, I'm going to presume that none of the elims made any moves to ensure Vapor's survival when doing any analysis going forward. Come to think of it, the elims didn't break the tie between Mist and Vapor on D1 which is... interesting. I truly don't see anything suspicious about Lotus' D1 vote. Yes, it saved Vapor, so it's possible that an elim!Lotus would have that motive. But I'm not really willing to give them an elim read on that alone. Right now I'd say my top suspicions are Experience and Kynedath but holding off somewhat on Kynedath until they post their suspicions. I suspect I'm going to have to re-evaluate some of my village reads as well... @Ashbringer Who are your suspicions? It struck me that you're giving reasoning behind your lynch votes but haven't really posted much on reads beyond that. @Experience I mentioned my suspicion of you on D2: -

Gah. I got the passion of protection and used it to protect Sart. I considered switching it to TJ after Sart's reveal but decided against it. :/ Experience for now. I'll probably make another post by the end of the cycle. -
Long Game 69: The Politics of the Passions
Mint11 replied to Zillah's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Any of us might die. We don't know who the elims will choose to kill. I don't think I'm a particularly likely target but I'm still a potential target. I was wrong. Alright TJ, you're in my village reads now. -
Long Game 69: The Politics of the Passions
Mint11 replied to Zillah's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Very quickly, some things to note in case I die: Suspicious of TJ for change in tone and being slightly less active in the thread than they usually are. He's just seemed different than previous games. I'm wondering if this is his first game as an elim. Suspicious of Kynedath. A lot of their activity has been role analysis and I've seen little in the way of suspicions. He voted on Vapor after Vapor claimed. I still haven't gone back and reviewed cycle 1 but I'm inclined to give Lotus a village read, given that they requested to be scanned. Could be a bluff, knowing that the village is unlikely to get a scan, but it honestly wasn't a given that they'd be lynched next cycle so seems like a more risky move for an elim. Unfortunately, I'm very busy today so can't do a more in-depth post. I'll likely be swamped til Tuesday (well I'll try to take a break tomorrow but we'll see how it goes) but I'll try to keep popping in. -

Mint11 replied to Zillah's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Gah I'm sorry Vapor. I've been bad with pronouns and SE lately with all the players I'm not familiar with. I don't think you being suspicious Vapor makes a likely elim kill target. And if Lotus is an elim, I doubt they'd kill you because killing you could incriminate Lotus. -
Long Game 69: The Politics of the Passions
Mint11 replied to Zillah's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Is this your way of saying you think I'm an elim? I don't like this lynch train and the lack of resistance. Even if it does appear Vapor is an elim with her latest post. I wish I was able to get on sooner but oh well. Nothing to be done about that. Current reads: Experience: strange that they didn't initially vote on Vapor when posting their reads since the reads seem to suggest that Vapor is the best lynch candidate, it's natural to be unsure this early in the game, but votes can be changed later in the cycle. Only voted after Vapor claimed- elim Illwei: posts giving off classic SE paranoia - null Matrims Dice: mostly a gut read at this point - village Lotus - Nothing stuck out to me but I've seen a lot of conversation about Lotus' potential link with Vapor in the D1 lynch, so I'll need to go back and take a further look, but for now - null TJ Shade: tone is definitely more relaxed than in previous games - null Kynedath: my gut's going back and forth, will need to do a closer look at their posts - null Vapor: I didn't think much of his earlier elim "claims" to be honest, I could've credited it to a chaotic playstyle. But that last post seems genuine so... - strong elim Lord Silberfarben: I like the point TJ made about Silb putting a scan target on himself by sharing that Sart is village, making Silb's claim a risky move for an elim - slight village Elkanah - excited, generally seems to be helpful but I do wonder if they're just experienced enough to do a good impression. I like how they tried to get more information by pressuring Elandera on D1 by voting on Kynedath. Genuine villager or expert manipulator? You decide - slight village The Young Pyromancer - also more relaxed tone than in previous games, not too many posts - null Ashbringer: pretty confidently said they were suspicious of a villager (well, I know I'm village anyways ) without listing many other suspicions, so didn't have a reads list to hide behind if I actually ended up lynched, which makes me think village (not sure if I'm repeating myself, I don't remember if I mentioned this reasoning before) - village Sart the Bard: based off of Silb's claim - village Given all the nulls and lack of elim reads, I'm going to try and suss out some elim reads from my nulls on N2. I already have a couple of hunches. I'm wondering if it would be best to refrain from sharing villagers confirmed by scans. Elims tend to kill trusted villagers, so it puts a target on the confirmed villager. I think it would be best to keep the knowledge to yourself unless said confirmed villager is a contender for the lynch. I would say the ideal thing to do would be to tell some people you trust in PMs if you can, so the knowledge doesn't necessarily die off if you do. The people you PM might betray you but it's a better bet than sharing with the entire thread. Vapor not trying to save herself is... very bad, if he is elim. At this point, I'm hoping she's a villager because than we might get more information from the lynch. Because if elim!Vapor just gave herself up than the other elims aren't trying to save her either which... means this lynch gives us zero information. In fact, it might be a negative number because lynches of elims that elims don't try to influence lead to some really misleading analysis. -
Long Game 69: The Politics of the Passions
Mint11 replied to Zillah's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is a great idea and I'll be stealing it too. I received the Passion of Connection and used it to create a PM. I'd rather not reveal who's in the PM though, since if we end up with some sort of PM network this game, I don't want the elims to be too sure about it. So I did an analysis of all the passions: Passion of survival All actions targeting you that night will be switched to a player of your choice This isn't a helpful action for the village, unless you think you're a likely target for the elim kill and have a strong suspicion to redirect to. Possible actions to target another player are roleblock, protect, scan, kill, and coerce. This passion is likely to redirect actions to a villager and/or redirect actions of a villager, so we end up working against each other instead of with each other. Potentially useful later in the game. Basically not a great action for the village unless someone has a specific reason to use it. @Zillah Are players notified if their actions are redirected? Passion of connection Create one PM between any two players Originally I was going to say that I'm not really sure how PMs are useful to the village in this game since there are no roles or any reason for villagers to keep information a secret from the thread, so this action is more useful to elims. However, I've since realized that PM's can be a useful way to coordinate actions with people you trust. For example, you might not want to announce who you're roleblocking to the thread because the elims will switch who submits the kill but you could share it in PMs if both you and the other person are roleblocking and don't want to hit the same person. Risky of course, but we'll see how this plays out. If anyone wants a PM with someone, consider announcing it in the thread. Someone who's not really interested in their passion of connection might help you out. I think it was Mist (?) who did that last cycle. Passion of empathy During one of the two following day cycles you may use this and one vote will be removed from your lynch total Hm. Vote manipulation. I feel like if a villager uses this to save themselves, it'll probably drag on their lynch discussion longer. Because then there'll be discussion on whether we should try lynching them again. It gives the elims more time. If a villager uses this passion to save themselves, I won't hold it against them. But it's not great for the village overall unless an elim dies after they use it. If by saving themselves, an elim is lynched instead, great! If instead an elim is killed that night... well, we might have clues for better leads then. So long story short, this action has the potential to be useful I suppose but for the most part, I'd say it's more helpful for the elims. Passion of protection Choose one player to protect from all attacks this night cycle, not including yourself Great for pretty much whoever who gets it. Passion of teamwork Choose a player. You learn who targeted that player during this night cycle Excellent action for the village, a chance to find a killer. Elims can't get much use from this since the information they get tells them pretty much nothing about who will use what action next. Passion of sabotage Can roleblock one player Hm. Also potentially useful to find a killer. Also might deprive the village of helpful information, depending on what gets blocked. Standard roleblock stuff basically. Not a bad action. Passion of logic Your vote counts as two votes the next day cycle If it affects who gets lynched, it could kill the lynch discussion in the next cycle (we all just vote on the person who was "saved" but should've died). Unless the person who dies is an elim. Similar pros and cons to the other vote manipulation, passion of empathy. Passion of planning Can send an anonymous message to any single player, and gets two passions next cycle, however only one may be used @Zillah Are you allowed to state who you are or otherwise claim an identity in this message? If so this could be a... slightly useful action. Like a PM but powered way down. Passion of research Learn the alignment of a player of your choice Best action for the village. Useless to elims. Passion of narcotics You will receive and use a random passion (if the passion requires one or more targets, the targets will be chosen randomly as well) C H A O S Passion of coercion Force any one player to receive their next action from the table of your choosing Pretty much an elim only move. Passion of violence Can attack one player and remove them from the game Mostly useful to the elims but tbh I don't find it impossible that a villager would use this. -
Long Game 69: The Politics of the Passions
Mint11 replied to Zillah's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I would say that Sart is somewhat cleared now but not Silb. An elim has nothing to lose by confirming a villager. I suppose they might want to keep their options open for future mislynches, but this could also be an easy way to try and gain some village cred.
