True. Or more likely he just wouldn't have been able to do it at all.

A Review of the Listener's Songs
Spoolofwhool replied to VirtuousTraveller's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yes, Everstorm. And as I said, I don't think they are still around. Nightform was abandoned along with the other forms of powers. -
Not that I can find. Only that he rebuilt himself using the well. I imagine that he could've rebuilt himself into a mistborn stronger than a regular person turned mistborn by lerasium since lerasium mistborns are not the peak of allomancy.

The hot metal wouldn't be a problem, they would just be storing off the heat as quickly as the metal would be conducting it in, just like they do for the heat in the air.

A Review of the Listener's Songs
Spoolofwhool replied to VirtuousTraveller's topic in Stormlight Archive
Really? It sounds more like the Nightform saw the eventual coming of the Everstorm right before the forms were abandoned, not that it came about after the gods left. "As the gods did leave, the nightform whispered" seems to be saying that they said something as they left, not that they existed afterwards. The last line does seem to imply they were, but the out-of-place verb tense really throws things off. -
I didn't ask whether it was honorable or not to send people into a meat grinder. I still agree with the point though, which is why I responded to your post. I'm don't understand what you're trying to say with your response though.

I get that logic, I just think it's weird in general, which is why I prefer to think that it can all be stored in one. I offered an explanation why 32 separate medallions wouldn't work earlier. Interference between each medallions ability to grant the holder a limited nicrosil feruchemy ability which allows them to tap the required powers from the nicrosilmind of the medallion. I imagine that point, the ability to unseal a metalmind so that people without the powers can tap from it, are the cause of the limitation. They're somehow unable to unseal it for more than 3 varieties of nicrosil feruchemy, more than three powers as attributes.
-
They have 3-power medallions. The 4-power hasn't been obtained. I was under the impression that it was just a single band of nicrosil which contained all 32 powers. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to store different varieties of the same attribute in a single metalmind considering multiple feruchemists can store in the same metalmind. Each medallion is subjected to a process which gives someone without nicrosil feruchemy to tap the nicrosilmind to grant the powers over the other section. My guess is that limited power which each medallion grants is keyed to each medallion, and wearing multiple medallions interfere with each other, because the conflicted limited powers they're each trying to give. That's a possibility, but I feel it's a bit more than that because it's actually giving a limited power to someone.

Also density doesn't change.

I'm fairly certain it was said by Shallan that the scribe adds footnotes afterwards.

Yes, I'm just manually creating the quote space. Makes everything look neater.

Windrunner resonance is the sheer amount of squires they can have, and the strength of the squires, which is apparently more than what other orders can have.

Except they wouldn't be, because to do so, the man would have to reveal that he could read, therefore destroying his standing. No one said it was common, nor did anyone say that Amaram could read. Chances are that he can't, which is why Amaram used the stormwarden glyphs, but it's also possible he deliberately used glyphs to create a safety net in case someone found his room. There's a WoB on the matter and this is basically it. The women retaliated by making reading a woman-only activity.

Stormlight in some form existed before Cultivation and Honor came to Roshar. The conclusion we're pulling is that it was originally directly Adonalsium's investiture, but Cultivation and Honor might've added to it.

Ah, agh. Found where I had read it. It was in MAG so I guess it's not as good as I thought. There is a WoB saying that storing heat would help with high temperatures. I can see it working in a general sense, though the question is how quickly and finely can they change temperatures. I think though, is that once your body starts to heat up from the fire, you can store that heat as well.

If I recall correctly, it was an Era 2 book, I think Alloy of Law. Can't remember though.

Coppermind? I just copy-paste it.
-
Exactly. Brandon has tried to keep the magic intertwined with science as much as possible, while maintaining consistency, but at a certain you just have to go "screw it, the magic does stuff"

This one? Fun fact. All the epigraphs are on the coppermind, so they're always available to look up. That's a thought about it. We don't actually know the race of most of the shardholders, other than Ati and Leras. Honor appeared as a human in Dalinar's vision, but that could be a shape he chose. Cultivation is presumably the same race as Honor since they were romantically involved.

True, but it's still dangerous. Highprinces and the other high lighteyes can be pretty cutthroat, and even one sign that you know something that you could've only learned from reading could spell disaster for you. They have spies in each others scribe group so they could be pretty certain of what you know and don't know.

You mean iron right? Steel feruchemy is physical speed. And yes, I am aware that we can't explain everything with science, especially the actual mechanics of how things are happening. However, we can more explain the results of the changes with science, to a fair degree.

It's really a matter of how you mentally visualize it when you perform the awakening. If you could somehow clearly visualize it, it might work, though I think it would require more breaths.
-
Ah, okay. In that case the phrasing could be better since it doesn't read like that.

I think Jondesu's point is that Hoid's grudge was originally against Bavadin and Rayse as the people they were before becoming vessel, not the people they are now, changed by the power of the shards they hold. So the two names are not quite interchangeable in this case.

Doesn't stormlight efficiency have to do with using stormlight, such as during surgebinding and healing, versus how much can be held?
