  1. That would be cool, though I would also like to see Szeth.
  2. Exactly. This is my thought as well. Justice is about eye for an eye, punishing equivalently to what is deserved. Hatred isn't a factor. Fanaticism and Revenge seem a lot better.
  3. Shades, originally, were the result of ambient investiture, not from a shard. It's conceivable that some other influence has occurred though.
  4. Personally, I'm skeptical of most of Jak's story. I wouldn't consider anything in it to be an accurate telling of Scadrial.
  5. Denth was suppressing his Divine Breath, so no surprise he never healed. Vasher I proposed a theory why. In general though, it's likely a focus thing as you say. They aren't aware they can heal so they are accepting their injuries to a degree and not tapping the power. If they heal naturally and are scarred, I wouldn't be surprised if the scars faded away over time.
  6. If she ascended at that point she became a sliver afterwards. unless you're proposing that it's possible to ascend without afterwards being a sliver when you lose the power.
  7. I'm still disagreeing, because it appears to me that no matter how it was described in-book, WoG appears to be implying that Vin only became a sliver after she was the vessel of Preservation. Nonetheless, I don't see how this really matters to the overall topic, so let's just leave it until someone gets a definitive answer. Please don't bring me back towards this line of discussion.
  8. Interesting thought. There is a WoB though that says that all the spren we're running into, which seems to be referring to the Nahel Bond spren of the KRs, are all of Honor, Cultivation, or some mixture. My interpretation is that that doesn't leave any room for Odium's investiture, but I'm interested in seeing what other people think. Note that this came out before the WoB you presented, which is possibly where Argent got the seed of his question. Anyhow. Personally, I don't think there's a piece of Odium in the spren, regardless of the WoB below. Also, I disagree with your assessment that the justice of the Skybreakers stems from hatred. It seems a lot more like a zero tolerance policy, combined with, in Nale's case, with a heavy sense of logic. Edgedancer spoilers
  9. I still disagree. There's nothing to indicate that he's referring to the Well of Ascension in the case of Vin, and the difference in wording seems to be indicating that there was a difference between TLR's and Vin's ascension. TLR became a shard, Vin was a shard. In addition, yes, Vin has her description of how it help, but I consider out-of-world commentary more informative on binding on those matters. In any case, I admit that the information I've found is up to interpretation, though the Coppermind has it listed that Vin only became a sliver after she took up Preservation, not after the Well, so it may be that there is some other information out there that person who wrote the page used.
  10. I see. I'm still of the opinion that it doesn't count as an ascension because while she did touch it, she didn't use it. Touching the power gave her an understanding of what could be done, but without using it such that the power would actually flow using her as a conduit, it wouldn't be an ascension, nor would she count as a sliver, as a result. As seen the WoB below, Brandon is implying that Vin did not count as a sliver until after she became the vessel of Preservation and killed Ati, unlike TLR who was a sliver after touching the well, because he ascended.
  11. What are the chances though? The stick in Elantris making its way to Roshar? Though, maybe if it had similar powers to Hoid.
  12. Um. No. She didn't know how to heal Elend. She most definitely did not take the power. She gave up the power fully expecting him to die. She only saved him because the Mist Spirit showed her the bead of lerasium. I would suggest you reread that part. Brandon has specifically described it as ascension. Yes, it isn't the same kind of ascension as when someone takes the entire power of a shard, but it is still ascension, which is when someone takes up a significant portion of a shard's power. It doesn't necessitate that they become a shardholder. Also, I don't understand your last line. No one said that using the WoA was required for ascension, considering people have done it with other shards as well.
  13. It's basically a trident at that point, and those aren't that bad.
  14. Very true. However, one is more prone to get you killed.

  16. I mean, there is even a scene where Lift directly uses the surge of regrowth to grow some plants so we have seen it happen. Chances are that if you're low on nutrition, stormlight will augment it by regenerating the parts of the body so that they avoid using the nutrition, which is why she didn't feel hungry until after her stormlight ran out, because her body wasn't using any. Nonetheless, it probably is a fairly inefficient usage of stormlight.
  17. This is really A+.
  18. Nightblood can consume the investiture the holder holds to power itself, but that's not the same as actually being able to hold the investiture for use for certain abilities, which was the point I was trying to make. Stormlight Archive Spoilers
  19. A question though would be whether Nightblood would be able to absorb stormlight. Nightblood is already insanely invested, and I think has been described as one of the most, if not the most, invested object we've seen in Cosmere so far. Add to that the interference between types of investiture and it might be fairly unlikely that stormlight could be held.
  20. Most healing that we've seen through manifestations of investiture (examples below), use how the person views themselves cognitively in order to undo the damage to the physical and spiritual, and physical transformation is in fact an extension of that. As such, I see regeneration and healing as well within their capabilities, since they basically have a more advanced version of what healing can do. A point against it though is that Vasher didn't heal when he resumed his Returned form at the end of Warbreaker, but he is enough of a grouch that he could've just cognitively seen the wounds as part of him and somewhat intentionally kept them. Nice job.
  22. He changed the geography and ground composition, similar to what TLR did. I don't think he reconstructed the entire planet. WoB has confirmed that the metals in Scadrial are slowly running out.
  23. Possibly, except the question and answer were both directed towards the day of the Diagram with generalization to his other days, so I'm going to just assume it's word choice. In any case, you cannot deny that a lot of support has shifted to the theory that he did logically calculate the Diagram. Yes, that's my thought as well. The fact that both Dalinar's visions and the death rattles indicated that the Everstorm was coming, and that the latter hasn't been wrong so far, indicates that the chances are pretty strong that the occurrence of the Everstorm was inevitable. So trying to stop it would've been futile, and preparing for its coming would've been a better plan.
  24. Infuse, as in draw in stormlight from spheres? I believe there's a WoB that says she doesn't because she has her own method of obtaining stormlight, and therefore doesn't practice nor try to. Your wording is interesting because infuse is generally used to mean that the surgebinder places stormlight into an object, such as when Kaladin performs a basic lashing on something. If that's what you meant, then yes, she can do that. I don't see how it's splitting hairs since investiture isn't energy. In any case, now that we've established that investiture isn't energy, I don't see how your model for how Lift would metabolize into investiture could still stand since you cannot turn energy into investiture.
  25. Three hundred. So there's a fairly good chance we might see some atium. Although, Harmony might have repossessed the power constituting atium in favour of dispersing it in the form of Ruin-imbalanced Harmonium.
