  2. Judging by the wording, I very much believe so. Alv will need to make a final call, though.
  3. Unless I am very much in error, it's Daniyah who's back on the field. Let's take Sel while they're down.
  4. Are you sure you guys aren't Retired Pirates, because that pact sounds more like guidelines than actual rules...
  5. And to think that Shallan's books cost her two of those...
  6. The second you was referring to the Sel faction as a whole. I told Joe that he "had" the reviver because it was at his disposal. I want to kill you because you're the one holding it for him.
  7. Confession 1: I didn't do that because I was bored; I read SA after joining the Shard and did it because I thought it would come in handy. Street cred level: airsick lowlander. Confession 2 (AKA The Great Heresy): For a little I thought Reckoners was cosmere... *cringes*
  8. Success! You know you're a Sanderfan when you can spell-check Rock's name on sight.
  9. This table is for my own reference, but I'm posting it just in case someone else might find it useful. Name ... Diamond Chip Equivalent (DCE) Diamond Chip ... 1 Diamond Mark ... 10 Diamond Broam ... 100 Ruby Chip ... 1,000 (1 thousand) Ruby Mark ... 10,000 Ruby Broam ... 100,000 Sapphire Chip ... 1,000,000 (1 million) Sapphire Mark ... 10,000,000 Sapphire Broam ... 100,000,000 Emerald Chip ... 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) Emerald Mark ... 10,000,000,000 Emerald Broam ... 100,000,000,000 (and to think that the two-handed sword costs an entire emerald broam! #kingsransom)
  10. What do we have to gain? The assured destruction of the Sel faction. You have the reviver, so Dani's probably not staying dead for long. Better to cut off the head while the neck is exposed. For all that you play up the danger of Wilson and STINK, Wilson at least doesn't break pacts first, and it's useless to predict STINK. I don't trust you to hold to Wilson's standard, and your coordination is more menacing that STINK's randomness. Your role is irrelevant; your leadership ability is not. With you gone Sel loses much of its think tank. Any player can kill with new items, including you. Who's to say that you aren't going to Siphon Wilson and regain the edge? Finally, you express concern that we'll be betrayed by Wilson. That is a possibility. However, her faction is down to three people, and they only have a kill every other night. Roshar is just as likely to win by using Cuddles in conjunction with vote manip as Scadrial is by Wilson turning against us.
  11. They're Ruined...
  12. Hey! Although I'm not a writer myself (I confine myself to little more than role-playing) I'll can refer you to the Creator's Corner forum (here), which is filled with numerous users that you'd fit right in with. And welcome to the Shard!
  13. @Assassin in Burgundy What's the conversion between ruby (item prices) and the four other marks you enumerated?
  14. Nah, the Roshar Jack was just a dummy that we put up. The kind of dummy that catches swords. We all know that you work for the side that appears to be winning. Although you would join us in name, you would be scheming against us every step of the way. But my quarrel is not with you. Burnt is the one with the reviver, per my calculations. It would be such a shame if Sel couldn't return to full strength.
  15. Mandos peered down at the Sel encampment, flanked by a spirit on either side of him. Nonel and Ashkelon each held swords and Mandos himself held Ashkelon's spare crossbow, which glinted eerily in the low light. "Are you ready to die, my friends?" "Rather hard to die if you're already dead." "Good. No worries then." They walked slowly down the hill, and as they did, they broke into a slow and eerie chant. Slay the darkness, bring forth the light. They'll fall against our strength and might. Our foes await, our blades are bright. Prepare thee now; we bring the fight.
  16. Conq. Daniyah. Because any Sel win is not a Nalthis win, and that would be undesirable.
  17. I could go with that.
  18. Edit: Nyali Conq. In PM you gave me the last bit of evidence I needed. You have confirmed yourself a traitor to our cause, and must be executed accordingly.
  19. How about Tom Bombadil?
  20. The Valar are the shard-holders...

  22. Nyali. An Arms Dealer working with Sel is not a good thing to have right now.
  23. We need to get some actual discussion going in this game, instead of... this. To generate that, Mage Burnt[/color].
  24. Most long high fantasy works feel overwhelming at times, especially to readers new to the genre. Taking notes is one option, but another is just to reread right after you finish. By then you'll have an intuitive grasp of character names, motivations, magic, etc. that will allow you to focus on the smaller details. You're totally fine with reading WoK without reading other Cosmere works. Cosmere knowledge isn't essential to the story, but is helpful in finding little easter eggs, as well as understanding the significance of some of the interludes. The epigraphs are not essential to the story. You will understand them more once you identify the significance of the source material (each SA book is like this). What they are good for is for Cosmere theorists to pick out tiny world-details with, as well as showing sample passages from the quoted work to the reader.
  25. Does anyone have projections on who is going to die from the filter next cycle?
