  1. It took Mandos about an hour of searching to find the stone he'd thrown away so angrily. When he finally did, he picked it up, noticing that it felt heavier than its size would suggest. Flipping it the customary five times, he summoned the newcomer. In a puff of mist, the figure in the robes appeared. "I do not enjoy being summoned. You would do well to remember that." "I do not enjoy being interrupted." Mandos was not in a good temper, and this Duke Ashkelon character looked like he was planning something. "Your man Nonel told me a few things," Ashkelon said with no hint of emotion. "Like what?" "Like if I kill you I'll return to life." Mandos forced a laugh. Although the spirit was not far from the truth, Mandos didn't want him to know that. "You think killing me will solve your problems? Kill me and my death will ensure your eternal torment!"
  2. Right now I'm wagoning on Magestar. Even if he were on my faction (which I doubt he actually is), he currently is of no help to anyone.
  3. Mandos barely saw Elentari's approach before he was interrupted by the rather unfortunate (and uncalled-for) arrival of a spirit. With the customary cloud of mist, a ghost wearing rich robes covered with arcane symbols appeared standing on the rocks beside Mandos. He spoke with a strange accent: "Lord Mandos, I am the newly-deceased Duke Ashkelon." Mandos spun to face the newcomer, surprised that a spirit had the audacity to show up at this time. "Get out." "You must have misheard me. I am Duke Ashkelon." "I don't care if you're a king! You're in my domain and so must obey!" "I obey when it suits me. At this point it does not." Mandos was infuriated. Seizing the offending spirit by the robes with one hand, he grabbed a loose stone with the other. Muttering words too softly for anyone else to hear, he bound the newcomer's ghostly figure to the rock and hurled it as far as he could. "Insubordinate!" Mandos turned around and saw more than a few stares looking at him. He then realized that throwing rocks and talking to invisible spirits did not look very normal to anyone else, and so quickly turned and walked in the other direction. That stinking ghost ruined my moment!
  4. Okay, I'm done now.
  5. You just tried to pull a fast one: you're the original Delightful. Nice try, though.
  6. Secret PM? *coughs* There's always another secret...
  7. None. That's how I knew.
  8. It could be that he's a second account of yours, but I think it's more likely you're coordinating it to cause confusion and general disorder. Edit: Rep level up!
  9. You are; the under-2000-post one of you is Wayne. I can also tell because @waynespren is no longer a valid tag.
  10. Oh, yeah. I just saw color and assumed Nalthis...
  11. You're the imposter. I have ways of telling. 1. Honor is dead... 2. Never read Warbreaker 3. Dunno
  12. @DelightfuI @Delightful Whichever of you is the real one: release him from your spell!
  13. Join the Facepalming Avatar Club down in the social groups forum!
  14. I'll vote for Straw as well; for the reason Conq explained and because I don't want vote manips to wreck things at the last second. If we want a good lynch, we need a definitive frontrunner.
  15. Sorry, I just couldn't resist.
  16. Since nobody else seems appreciative, I'll chip in an upvote.
  17. @Elbereth gave me some inspiration for some RP. Mandos had seen enough. Enough eccentrics walking around, enough politicos forging alliances, enough boorish scumbags too stupid to catch a hint. Picking up a rock, he turned it over five times in his hand and skipped it across the ground. From the fifth strike on the rock, a specter burst, floating up to Mandos in a cloud of mist that only he could see. Mandos addressed the shade directly, reading its thoughts in return: "That man. Saol. I want him gone. Whomever that woman is, she deserves better than him." "You mean that you think that she deserves you..." "Shut up, Nonel. Do you want me to send you back?" "Fine. But It'll be rather hard to do if I don't have a body." "Come on, Nonel, you owe my one for taking good care of your spirit after the Pokemon incident." "That's exactly why I need my body back: to pay back the one I owe you. You've done it before." "Beren was a special case. You know that I can't do that again." "You'll need to in order to get my help. You know, whatever you can do can't be more painful than having your neck snapped." "Very well, Nonel. But the enchantment will end on my command. You know that." "Of course, Mandos." Mandos reached out his hand and the rock flew back to it, Nonel's specter bursting into mist. He hated dealing with the shades, that one in particular, but Nonel was as clever as he was irritating. If anyone could help Mandos with that slob, it was he.
  18. I personally am swapping both, and Bugsy told me both of his.
  19. So a D20 is rolled to determine whether the attack hits, based on narrative difficulty. If it does, then damage is rolled (or RNG'd) based on the possible damage outcomes listed, plus modifiers. Thanks!
  20. I wasn't doing anything else at the time, so I had hours to burn. I read almost exclusively High Fantasy, minus what I have to read for classes.
