  1. @Mark IV and @AliasSheep are using a classic strawman argument: they're saying that I said something that I did not. I said: My reasoning was based off of this: there are at minimum three starting eliminators, and I doubt any of them are sub-reds or super-violets. Mage was their roleblock. I put myself in the GMs' shoes: If I was giving out abilities, what would I give them? One of them would definitely be vote manip. Vote manips win games: just see how the Derethi team took over LG24 and killed all of the Jeskeri in just a few rounds. Or in MR16, where the Nalthians almost got a majority, and would have had one had I not killed Conquestor. I'm voting Daniyah Assassin, since if we want to win this one we'll need all of the active voters we can get. Plus the fact that I want to live. But Sheep is still my number-one suspicion.
  2. And there was much rejoicing in the land. I'm voting Jasnah: I think Lopen is a bit overrated for what he actually says/does, while I don't believe Jasnah gets enough credit.
  3. A PM of mine told me that he/she trusts Sheep, and I'm trusting enough of them right now that I'll let the vote go. Sheep. Right now we're having major problems with lurkers, so if we can't find an active target soon let's just kill an inactive. @Assassin in Burgundy@Daniyah I'm looking at you two. I'll be on again before turnover, but just in case of a power outage (too common where I live) I'll put in my vote on Daniyah. Just in: Assassin in Burgundy is lurking. I see him.
  4. The cookies (and cake, and chouta, and whatever else the Dark Alley offers you) have unusually high iron contents. I suggest you leave them uneaten.
  5. I moved Bard's vote, not yours. It may have been an error in the write-up. I'm the Orange Drafter who ensured that Bard died. I put in the action the same time as I put my vote on Bard to ensure that he died. That said, Sheep. Last turn he seemed too eager to kill a claimed roleblocker, as if he knew in advance that he wouldn't take any flak for it because he knew in advance that Bard was evil. There's only one way he could have known that. In addition, he put a vote on Bard at the last second after the lynch was cemented, to make it look like he was helping us in the lynch of his teammate to draw suspicion away from himself.
  6. Wagoning sometimes helps the elims, but sometimes it's also helpful for lynching elims. I'm an unashamed bandwagoner, particularly in the early rounds. I'm switching my vote from Conquestor to Bard: If Bard is an Elim then he'll most likely have vote-manip supporting him, and so we'll need a good majority in order to lynch him. I'd rather we kill inactives, but I guess that if Conq hasn't been on he hasn't been able to send in any orders, and same with some of the others. That said, if anyone sees someone lurking around on "recently browsing", but they haven't posted recently, don't hesitate to call them out on it.
  7. Don't eat the cookies. They have an unusually-high iron content.
  8. They Ruined the cookies: anything Dark Alley won't pass through a metal detector silently... Have an upvote with the warning.
  9. Nothing to be sorry about. Chaos. Conquestor. For lack of a better target.
  10. Faren stood over the goblins that he had killed, raiding them for gear while Amarthion checked to see if they had any meat that could be salvaged. It all looked rotten. Amarthion wiped the blood from his hatchet and walked over to an oak tree on the side of the nearest hill. He swung once, twice, and... Giant Adder spotted! "Are you kidding me?" Leaving his hatchet buried in the tree trunk, Amarthion drew his trusty pickaxe and swung, piercing the snake's body where it was visible in the foliage under the tree. Amarthion deals 11 damage to Giant Adder with Bronze Pickaxe! He dived backward before the snake could strike at him, knowing that of all of the party members, he least of all could afford taking a hit. Meanwhile, Zandarr, who was closest to the snake, charged in for a quick strike. The snake bit back at almost the same time. Clonk! Zandarr.Rules deals 13 damage to Giant Adder with Bronze Sword! Giant Adder deals 0 damage to Zandarr.Rules! Faren grinned and jumped for the snake's other side, diverting its attention from its attack on Zandarr. Faren deals 16 damage to Giant Adder iwth Bronze Sword! The snake swung it's diamond-shaped head towards Faren, but that left it open from behind. Amarthion deals 12 damage to Giant Adder! Giant Adder destroyed! Amarthion wiped the sweat from his brow and took the final chop at the three. 3 Oak Logs gained! There was another one near the first, and it got the same treatment, minus the sneak snake attack. 3 Oak Logs gained! "I'm spent," Amarthion said, sitting down and watching the setting sun, "Let's stop here for the night: skin this second snake for food and eat what we've got from it and the other. We'll start again in the morning. I'll take first watch." @Voidus please determine loot and the amount of our snake meat we'll need to eat.
  11. I'd vote Darkness, but I'd rather have his role on our side than Ecth's lack of one. Right now my gut is telling me that there are too many inactives here due to true inactivity: I'm smelling lurkers. I'll vote Chaos because she's inactive.
  12. Taravangian. It's hard to beat a guy who has your every move predicted before the battle even starts.
  13. I also took no actions: I thought turnover was later. @Assassin in Burgundy This seems like standard STINK to me. I'd suggest that all Yellows and Blues get moving ASAP to scan and fortify the populace, yellows starting with themselves in case they get targeted. As for @Darkness Ascendant and @Ecthelion III's claims, I don't find them suspicious. DA's seems like a new-player mistake (Mage did the same type of thing in QF17), and from knowing Ecth irl he prefers to tell as few lies as possible. Assassin and STINK are both reading village to me: both placed logical lynch votes and didn't appear to be associating with any other players very much. Now, about the kills on Meta: one of them is most likely Alv's, done in a bit of revenge. A second is most likely the Spies', seeing as there wasn't another death out there. But where did the third come from? Sub-red is possible, but so is another Assassin. We can rule out a Red's involvement because the other two kills went in fine, which means that any Sub-Reds couldn't have gotten a guaranteed kill. So either there's another Assassin out there, a Sub-Red got lucky on the coin toss, or there's another secret role out there. @Straw Is there supposed to be only one vote on Conq? Or is it just a typo?
  14. My concern isn't with the flashback sequences: I think they'll be enlightening as to Kholin family dynamics and Highprince politics. My concern is with the motivations behind giving Renarin a spren: I just get the feeling that he doesn't have the self-discipline or the personal drive that the other proto-Radiants have. There is definitely room for a classy backstory that explains it all. But, just from a Book 2 perspective, I think Adolin would be the better Radiant.
  15. I've got two main concerns about the upcoming PoVs: Renarin and Adolin. Adolin was the character that I connected with second-most, and I think that he deserves a better arc than he is projected to have. Reviving his Shardblade seems to have been hashed out already in this thread, so I won't beat the dead horse. Moving on to my bigger concern: Renarin. When I found out that he got a spren, my reaction was "seriously?" Up to that point, all of the proto-Radiants had 'earned' their spren in some way: Kaladin discovered that he could care for others even if he believed that he couldn't survive, Shallan finally faced the shadows of her past, Dalinar changed himself into the thing that Elhokar needed the most. But Renarin somehow managed to gain one while still remaining a static character. Had he worked extra hours on the practice grounds to hone his dueling skills or determined that his time was better spent in a study of tactics, and made a real effort to become an asset to the king, I could see how he would have earned his spren. But this way, he was just given the equalizing power without working for it: he was given the reward without expending the effort. He still lacks the personal discipline of a Radiant, even if he has the Surgebinding.
  16. Hmmm. Interesting. The death rattle makes it sound like the "picking up" refers to someone adopting a role, or one role for each of the items. The chapter headings may be hinting that Dalinar is going to be the one doing the changing (I pick Dalinar over Kaladin because he's got 2 of the items): he exemplifies the crown be becoming de facto leader of the highprinces, he exemplifies the tower when he defends them (or it could be an homage to Urithiru), and he exemplifies the spear by leading his people into battle once more.
  17. First things first: crunch the numbers. There are 15 players in the game: that should leave us with about 4 elims. We have 10 turns to wipe them all out. Bar sub-red kills, that means we have to get a successful lynch 40% of the time. @Straw Were roles and alignments set by RNG and then modified, or were all chosen by the GM?
  18. Okay, it's time to end this once and for all. Hurt 1 on Joel, heal 1 on Melody. 3. Cody--52 9. Joel--0 10. Melody--48
  19. I wasn't a real big fan of Axies: he always seemed too much like a gimmick character and not enough like a real one. Sazed, even without attributes pre-stored, would come out on top in both fighting prowess and character awesomeness.
  20. Amarthion finished skinning the snake and pulled out his pickaxe. "There are good iron deposits in this area. Watch for monsters while I get some." He walked over to the hillside and began with his pickaxe. 4 Iron Ore gained! Amarthion moved to a different spot. 4 Iron Ore gained! But suddenly... 2 Mountain Hobgoblins spotted! The first hit Faren before he could react, but Faren's tough minotaur hide absorbed most of the blow. Mountain Hobgoblin deals 3 damage to Faren! Faren growled, swinging his sword in a vengeful arc. Faren deals 19 damage to Hobgoblin 1! Zandarr was not far behind in attacking the ambusher. Zandarr.Rules deals 14 damage to Hobgoblin 1! And then the second hobgoblin arrived and a melee ensued: Hobgoblin 2 deals 0 damage to Zandarr.Rules! Amarthion deals 12 damage to Hobgoblin 2 (using Bronze Hatchet)! Hobgoblin 1 deals 3 damage to Faren! Faren deals 19 damage to Hobgoblin 1! Hobgoblin 1 destroyed! Zandarr.Rules deals 15 damage to Hobgoblin 2! Hobgoblin 2 deals 5 damage to Amarthion! Amarthion deals 8 damage to Hobgoblin 2! Faren deals 16 damage to Hobgoblin 2! Hobgoblin 2 destroyed! Total HP lost: Faren 6, Amarthion 5 Total items mined: Amarthion 8 iron Total enemies destroyed: Faren 2 Stamina: All full Mana: Amarthion at 50, Zandarr and Faren none. @Voidus please determine loot.
  21. They said the same about Amaram.
  22. Right now I'm looking pretty busy in the RP department, but down the road I'm interested in playing something from Avatar: TLA.
  23. Zandarr.Rules, Faren, and Amarthion rested from their exertions, then headed out into the hills to seek levels and a base. They did not get far, however, before they heard a faint hissing coming from the bushes ahead. Zandarr thrust out his arms, stopping the small company in it's tracks. "Snake." And sure enough, one slithered into view, its long, sinuous body sliding effortlessly across the ground. Giant Adder spotted! The Masters of Moria exchanged glances. Then, all as one, they charged at the serpent. Zandarr was fastest and hit first, swinging his massive sword into the snakes's side. Zandarr.Rules deals 14 damage to Giant Adder! The next to reach the snake was Faren, who used his own sword to slash the snake in its soft underbelly. Faren deals 19 damage to Giant Adder! The snake hissed, it's HP bar hovering at about a third. It struck back, fangs striking the enchanted armor and scoring two parallel grooves, but not penetrating. The bite left purple globs of venom behind, but since it was not in the bloodstream it was of no effect. Giant Adder deals 0 damage to Zandarr.Rules! Amarthion had fallen a little behind the others, but suddenly he was there. Raising his hands in front of him, he drew a pattern in the air, then shoved his hands forward. Out of them sprang a roiling inferno of fire. The Giant Adder hissed once more, then was silent. Amarthion deals 25 damage to Giant Adder! Giant Adder was destroyed! Amarthion has 50 mana remaining! Amarthion paused for a second to catch his breath: he suddenly felt very tired after incinerating the serpent. After ten seconds he straightened up and pulled out his skinning knife. "This guy might not have much in the way of gold or armor, but he's got to be decent for food."
  24. So Kaladin on the flute was sad and pathetic. You know what, let's throw away all attempts at realism and just crank the awesome up to 11 because why not. Why bother to make sense if you could be awesome instead? That's Kaladin. Help! Surgeon! I'm dying of laughter!
