Long Game 43: Under the Banner of Adonalsium
Stick. replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I was on Silverlight N1 (don't know if I can prove it but I tried to steal Auto's investiture) and worldhopped to Taldain on D3 -last cycle. Devotary, Sart, Pyro, Arinian and myself were the only ones there last turn, but now a bunch of players have appeared here after Ruin blew Silverlight up: Steel, Jondesu and Joe. And yeah, the write up strongly suggests that Ruin is corrupted now. Rip. -

Oooh! Sure. Vote manips are the most annoying. -
Surely you would have known that you voting on Drought wouldn't have stopped the Drake lynch. Why didn't you cast a vote on chaos instead? It wouldn't have done anything then either but Chaos had two votes on her already so if your intent was to save Drake that would've been a better place to vote.
-
I think that Steel is a villager based on his part in lynching Drake like I said in y post earlier, however I do think that he probably could've waited a while to reveal his role bc now the elim vote manip player, if there is one (I suspect there probably is), is unlikely to claim to anybody now that they know they'll be suspected for it. I do believe his claim -he said to me in our PM last cycle that he suspects there to be vote manips in the game and I guess this explains it so...yeah.

Why do you think so? -
Sorry for being useless yesterday. >> I will admit that I haven't been giving this game as much time and thought as I should -I've been far too invested in the other game, hence the lesser number of actual opinions and more of just sheeping around, and I apologise. I'll to balance the two from now All caught up on yesterday's thread. Yay for catching an elim on C1. Ha. I don't think that we should ever be 'clearing' people, though I do have strong village reads on them. Though this post here: Am I the only one who missed the 'pushed for it so hard' part? Here's the other things that caught my attention while reading the thread in light of the lynch results, some of which people here have already outlined: I can see this as ether Drake pocketing Mad or Drake being partners with Mad. I`m honestly having trouble trying to figure out which is more likely, though I`m ever so slightly leaning on the latter. Fifth had somewhat defended Mad as well, though I don't know if that tells us much. Confirmed good aint confirmed right, kids. For all it matters, Hero was the third player to defend Mad, though that seems pretty much NAI, if his reasons to do so presented this cycle are to be trusted. Of course, Drake`s reason for defending Mad was also exactly the same, so I don't know. >> A Chaos lynched had momentarily formed, which I believe is pretty NAI on Hero's part. Though Mad joined in with thier vote soon to try and save themselves from the lynch. Could be either a village or an elim move TBH Drake tried to get Drought lynched near the end of the cycle, which makes me lean village on Drought. And he expressed suspicion on Kyne (for saying elims (?)) and Aman (for diverting attention from "important things". I would've been interested to ask him what he meant by that if he were alive), and then proceeded to say that it doesn't matter to him cos he's neutral. K. Next on my list in LivingLegend This can definitely be telling. They say that they think the Mad lynch would make sense but notably do not vote on anybody, saying that they're going to leave it as it is. Though they did come back and vote for Drought after the cycle ended, even though they said earlier that they would want a chaos lynch. I don`t know what they had hoped to achieve by voting on Drought but it certainly is strange behaviour. I`m curious as to why they didn`t change their vote to Chaos, if they truly did want to save an elim teammate or something. @livinglegend you claimed to be neutral. Does that have anything to do with your strange vote and all? Honestly tho what`s with these neutral-claimed people voting on Drought. So, based on all of that, here's my reads (100% is most elim-y): DoS: 35% Eternum: 45% Kynedath: 45% LivingLegend: 65% Drought: 30% Orlok: 30% STINK: 30% Madagascar: 65% Aman: 50% Hero: 50% (I got a *slight* elim vibe but more of a neutral one from Hero when reading the last thread due to there being so many NAI things) Steel: 30% There goes my conversion theory. Not to mention the kill, which I suspected won't happen so early if conversions were a thing. Seems like there's one formed elim team? I`m interested to hear your opinion on whatever I`ve quoted you on/mentioned you in this post, and what Hero has said. I think that I need to analyse Jond`s posts, as I`ve yet to develop an actual opinion on him, so I`ll be doing that soon.

It's admittedly not much, @randuir. This post of theirs, for example: It's also the one I singled out earlier in the turn. The expression of suspicion here feels forced. It's also just how they've generally been following whatever the popular opinion is at the time in-thread, I guess. Now that I've gotten a quick look through their posts, their posts actually seem quite village at the start of the game. But eh. I'm very unsure, I'm case that wasn't clear. -

So, I have a bad gut feeling about lynching Straw. I don't know. That ^ is worrying. There's little more than seven hours left in the turn and I'm concerned at how easy this lynch seems. There's just too many Straw votes. I'm aware that I was the one who brought up the idea of lynching Straw in the first place but I'm suddenly consumed by doubt. And sure, how fast the last lynch moved from Straw to Pyro should make us suspect that it was the eliminators' work, trying to save a teammate or something. But I can't shake this feeling. Something's wrong. That said, I see that the HH lynch doesn't hold much water now, so... *takes deep breath *eats hat *eats bow tie Hemalurgic Headshot Yeah. I think...MonsterMetroid This probably won't go anywhere -the Straw lynch is pretty solid now, but I feel better with my vote here. MM is next in my list of suspicions, as anybody would notice if they read my previous posts. And I don't think they ever replied to something I pointed out and asked about early in the turn. edit: Ninjad by Sart. Hm. Lemme fetch the vote tally and update it Straw (7): Eternum, Fifth Scholar, Hemalurgic Headshot, Magestar, Megasif, Randuir, TheYoungPyromancerHemalurgic Headshot (4): Elbereth, Jondesu, Straw, Sartlivinglegend (1): Young Bard Monster(1): Stick Even so, there's a fat chance that HH would get lynched. Though if my vote will make a difference, I will change it (to HH, i guess) in the morning. -

I think I'm having doubts about this Straw lynch. I'll say more later. Right now, I'm engrossed in watching this cricket game. -
Fair, I suppose. Though I would point out that at the time of my post (and your post as well, I believe you were ninjad by Mad) there were only two votes on you and I wouldn't quite call that a 'bandwagon' but eh.
-
Mage? Mage isn't even playing You mean Madagascar. This is true. Your point about a random lynch is something I disagree with; we may base our votes on slight suspicions or bad reasons but it certainly won't be random. Also, I think it's should be noted that you've mentioned that a random lynch is all we can hope for two times in the same post. It doesn't seem...natural? Yeah. Like your worried people would be suspicious of you if you're part of a lynch that turns out to be on a villager. Kynedath's post seems village to me. I would argue that finding elims via narrowing down the list of possible elims by developing village reads on players is a common method (also called PoE - Process of Elimination, iirc).

Nah, as I said, claiming Preservation doesn't really make Straw a confirmed villager. I just got more suspicious of HH and decided to switch my vote. And to anybody thinking that HH flipping scum would clear Straw because he admitted to this: , we should keep in mind that there are two elim teams, so clearing people in this game based off the lynch results is not a viable idea. So while two suspects may not act as though they are teammates, we shouldn't assume that both aren't evil. I believe that Megasif brought this up at one point, but I wanted to remind everybody. Nope, my vote on HH stays. -

While I don't 100% believe that makes you village, Straw. Hemalurgic Headshot. (I will eat my hat (and bowtie) if I find reasons to change my vote again.) HH, you suggesting me to lynch Straw first and then determining your alignment based on that did seem kinda off. As if you already know he's going to flip village and decided to take advantage of that. -
Um. I agree that Drought's aquatic appearances make him quite distrustful. And I'm getting elimy vibes from @Ecthelion III's quietness. (Not really, this is merely a poke.) On a more serious note, I haven't really developed any suspicions yet (hence no vote), though I'm going to see if I can get anything useful from PMs. However, I wouldn't expect solid suspicious from anybody on the first cycle of the game.

I...okay. I'm less sure about everything now. Hemalurgic Headshot. Straw. -
I would like to point out that you didn't, in fact, place a poke vote on Hero. Role-claiming: I'd say just approach it with caution, because we know that there's at least one evil peep running around right now (and if this is the case, then I'd expect there to be conversions, as we have to kill all evil players to win, and one is obvs not enough. The possibility of conversions should only make us more wary about claiming). That is to say, don't role-claim to anybody right away, only do it if you're very heavily leaning village on them. That's what I plan on doing anyway :P.

I find this part of your post very odd. Why do you think Devotary wouldn't just lie about what charge(s) they have used? And your reason for suspicion isn't really much. This is weird. You were one of the people who voted on Pyro last cycle, specifically because you thought they were Hoid/Khriss. Pyro could've survived the lynch using preservation's investiture as well. I think it should be noted that you also said this last cycle: And yet, no pressing for suspicion. I'm definitely not saying that I want more Pyro discussion; I think we should probably move on now, But your posts do strike me as a little odd. And this is what you said when asked for what info you'd get after attempting a Pyro lynch: There was very obviously a Straw lynch also going on, and I would expect you to be suspicious of those who voted for Straw, thereby making you think that Pyro is an eliminator, based on what you have stated in the post above. But instead you say that you are now covinced that Pyro is indeed Survival. If I had to guess, I'd say you and Straw are possibly in cahoots. I am okay with a Straw lynch today, but since there's so many of you against it because of how Straw supposedly gets lynched early in games, here's another option: Hemalurgic Headshot. -

Wait, why was Steel likely to be Odium? I can confirm this. I think your theory does have plausibility, but why do the elims think that they can get something out of those PMs when they've placed seemlingly random players in it. What do they expect to learn? Granted, some people do tend to be more open in PMs, but I think that majority applies to one-on-one PMs. Those would've been better for info-gathering purposes, I think. However, I can't think of any other reason that would explain the existence of these PMs than what you've outlined, so...yeah. Is it safe to tell us in-thread how you've confirmed that?
