  1. Is there anyone here who has read enough of the source material to be able to make a guess at the possible alignments that can result from the Zeta activation?
  2. ...Okay, it's not that I don't mind not having a 20% chance of dying, but I'd really have liked to see the nightmare zone. Also, a lot more forest has gone to the Zeta zone than court so, depending on how the RNG ends up, I'd say this might be in the favor of the court. Edit: Apologies to Ecth. I might have retreated my vote in the end because I got somewhat suspicious of DA's vote, but I started the vote on you, so it's not like I'm not partly responsible.
  3. Sorry, going to have to make this a double post. Ecthelion (edited the tally above). I really don't like the fact that one of the votes involved with his lynch is coming from the forest.
  4. Someone asked for a vote tally. Lynch Vote tally Drake(3): Orlok, Crimsn, Lopen Ecth(2): Randuir, Brightness, DA Lopen(1): Clanky Burnt(1): Drake Araris(1): Stick Dalinar(1): Majestic, Arinian Arinian(0): Dalinar Majestic(0): Dalinar Eternum(0): Jondesu Jondesu(0): eternum This is probably going to be my last post this cycle. For those wondering, ties are resolved randomly (so one of the people in the tie is lynched at random).
  5. Fair enough. Based on your statement when making the vote, it seemed to me like his comment about flash was a rather central point to your accusation. Thanks for the clarification.
  6. Just for the record, I don't mind that you are trying to stay in character, and I don't think you should stop doing that or anything. It just makes it a bit harder for me to get a read on you, that's all.
  7. Thing is, as I believe Drake has pointed out, it isn't. An elim bailing out just saves us the trouble of lynching him, and he might just end up reinforcing the court elim team in the wood thread, therefore helping us out more than he hurt us by doing the last-minute vote shenanigans.
  8. Ugh. So you want a chest-high wall of text, DA? Is that it? Then, a chest-high wall of text you shall have! So, thoughts on people. Orlok-tsubodai: I'm leaning ever so slightly village on him, but I will be keeping an eye on him. What makes me mainly lean village on him is that he seems somewhat committed to promoting discussion during D2, as he's been commenting on the posts of quite a few players, and has been asking questions of various people. Orlok is good at the whole seeming village thing though, so I'll be keeping en eye on him. Elbereth: I'm leaning slightly village on Elbereth as well, for similar reasons as for Orlok. I don't consider either of them hard-cleared, or even soft-cleared, at this point, but I'd just as soon not lynch the players trying to get at least a bit of discussion going. One interesting thing of note I want to ask others about is this: What does it mean when someone asks about your reads in a PM, and one of the people this person asks for reads on isn't actually in the game? I'm assuming this was an honest mistake by Elbereth, but I want to check in case there are tons of stories out there of elims betraying themselves by a mistake like this. A Budgie: Budgie's has (almost) only posted RP uptill this point, so I've got a Neutral read on him. @A Budgie, could you maybe share your reads on a couple of people with us? Let's say Drake, Ecth and Brightness? Crimsn-wolf: Mostly Neutral read on crimsn for now. She's done mostly Rp, though she has put some analysis in those RP pieces as well, though nothing particularly earth-shattering. There's one thing I'm curious about though, @Crimsn-Wolf. Why did you contact Asterion, but not Meta? Burnt-Spaghetti: Chaotic Neutral. Most things She's said have been RP, and though she has slipped one or two game comments in there (such as disagreeing with Drake and STINK's mass-test suggestion), none of that has been particularly alignment indicative. Clanky: Neutral. Most of his posts have either been explaining why he wasn't posting as much at the start of the game, or what his current play-style is. I am wondering why he's kept his vote on Lopen after the explanation of the statement about flash. @Clanky, do you believe there is enough merit to that vote, even with that point explained and debunked? Drake Marshall: I'm leaning slightly elim on Drake. Most of his posts seem to be quite Non-alignment indicative, but his throwing himself up as an alternate medium candidate could have been an elim ploy. In fact, I've got a hard time seeing that no elims tried to make at least a small attempt at getting one of their number to be the medium because of the potential power of having the dragon-slayer role on their side. Meta: True Neutral. Reason: Inactive. Winter devotion: Village. Also, dead. Small Large: Medium, and based on Doc's statement about exchanging win-conditions, he's very likely to have been village. Droughtbringer: Neutral. He promised on Sunday that he'd post more in a couple of hours. @DroughtBringer, could you post a bit more? Maybe give your thoughts on Drake, Ecth and Elbereth? Shqueeves: Neutral. he's only posted twice uptill now, but his last post (from 3 hours ago) promised more thoughts to come in a couple of hours. Hopefully that'll give us a bit more insight in his alignment. Asterion: True Neutral. Asterion hasn't posted yet, though he has been active in other parts of the forum. @asterion137, would you be willing to post a bit? If you've got nothing to say, maybe give your thoughts on Orlok, Elbereth and Ecth? Lopen: Neutral, very slight elim lean, as explained earlier in the thread. Brightness: Neutral. Overall, Brightness has mostly posted RP, with only a single post dedicated to some light analysis. I'd really like to see some more analysis posts from her. Ecthelion: I'm still suspicious of him, and will not be moving my vote for now (though I might play tiebreaker if that becomes necessary). His explanation of wanting to prevent last-minute vote swings isn't adequate in my opinion, as any elims trying a stunt like that would be immediately outed. testing for a vote minimum can also be done by just asking a GM. So, I'd like to ask everyone that hasn't done too much in the analysis department yet to try and contribute a bit more. I don't expect a 10-page post by post breakdown of what every player has said and done, but even just giving your thoughts on a couple of players might be of help later. Even a list of "My gut says these players are good and evil" is better than nothing.
  9. As I see it, from what you said there, it seemed like you where actively supporting the shqueeves lynch. It could quite well be that you only wanted to draw attention to him, but that's not my takeaway from "I don't mind the vote on Shqueeves though". I'm not super suspicious of you, but I don't have too much to go on right now, so small things like that do stand out.
  10. It might be slightly easier for the GM's if you could do that again in a new post, though they might have counted it the first time already.
  11. Okay, I promised I would talk about my own suspicions, and though I'd prefer to get some sleep first, I should get these out as there's been very little in the way of discussion in the court side (with the exception of Orlok, that is). So, my 2 main suspicions right now are @Ecthelion III and @TheMightyLopen. What struck me as potentially suspicious about Ecthelion where his insistence on a non-Stink medium choice and his push for a lynch based on little discussion. For the fiirst point, it isn't his quick vote for Brightness, but rather his insistence that it shouldn't be STINK. Most notably, this post: At this point, Brightness was the only person that hadn't pushed herself forward, and she had only made one post up till now, and didn't in any way indicate (afaik) that she wanted to be the medium. Essentially, he's throwing suspicions on all others but his own suggestion, while his own suggestion does not seem particularity interesting either, as the person in question hadn't shown any indication to wan ting to be the medium, or for that matter, had shown any sign that she was less likely to be an elim than the other candidates. The second point was Ecth's attempts to get a lynch on Shqueeves going. Wanting to get a lynch going isn't a bad idea in and of itself, but targeting someone in the name of the crusade was fairly unlikely to get us any information, nor was it very likely to result in the death of an elim. It seems slightly more likely to me that Ecth might have been an elim trying to ensure a villager got lynched D1. Regarding Lopen, it's one post in particular that stood out to me: I'm sure I say this at least once per game, but someone stating support for a lynch while not actively voting themselves always makes me wonder wether they are an elim trying to get a villager lynched while staying outside of the spotlight themselves when people later look at that lynch. I'm going to vote Ecth for now. I'll try to do a full pass on everyone from the court thread before this cycle is doone, but I can't promise anything. Lynch Vote tally Drake(1): Orlok Dalinar(1): Majestic(technically not yet retracted) Majestic(0): Dalinar Eternum(0): Jondesu Jondesu(1): eternum Ecth(1): Randuir
  12. Yep, those are probably the Cryptids I've been talking about. Also, regarding lynch, I think a gentleman's agreement that we won't try to lynch someone from the other thread might be put in effect (so wood doesn't vote on people from court, and vice-versa). Orlok seems to be suggesting something like that, and until I know more about what the mediums exactly want/need to achieve, I'd prefer not to burn too many inter-thread bridges. This does mean that only one thread will get a lynch in the end, but it also encourages people to do some good reasoning for their suspicions, so that they get enough support to overrule the other thread's lynch-attempt. Edit: Though the lynch might be something the mediums have an opinion on? @STINK, @Doc12
  13. Honestly, I'm of two minds about the Zeta, I disagree that it is a greater threat to the village than to the elims though, at least as I understand it. Villagers and elims have equal chances of dying to his powers, and the conversion that it does is explicitly stated to be of the blue and orange variety. On the other hand, it can cause significant (potentially bad, potentially good) shake-ups, especially if it ends up triggering often. As for their alignment, you do make a good point regarding that, as the Zeta could be cryptid, or something else unrelated. Overall, I would not be in favor of lynching a confirmed Zeta if he's not of a problematic alignment. Yeah, that's something I've been considering as well. Putting what seems like a confirmed forest down (and we do have one of those by role-claim, though he has 2 lives) might seem like a good idea, but it's definitely not going to help with information sharing in future meetings, and will invite similar retribution. It's a question of whether it's worth it. I'll talk a bit about my suspicions later, once I'm home again.
  14. Also, I've been thinking about it a bit more about this mysterious faction (let's call them Cryptids, as they are mysterious, and must have come from the forest, as such a thing would never come from the Court), and I believe there must be at least 2 of them, one for each thread. If there was only 1, then only the members of one thread would really be participating in trying to find this person out, and that's not as fun for the other group. Anyway, would anyone hazard a guess to what the Cryptids need to do to win? Since the goal of the mediums seem to be to make peace, maybe their goal is to ensure no peace is made?
  15. Witch, I'd suggest to keep your head down. Shadowperson, I'd just like to point out that you are also a threat to the one court win condition that has been revealed, and that there's more court people than forest people around. Just saying .
  16. Yeah, based on the rules of a meeting, I determined that there must be some secret faction/role that both factions would want to put down. My reasoning is that during meetings there's only 1 group lynch for the two factions combined. This wouldn't make sense if there isn't some kind of target that both factions can agree on lynching. No all we have to do is to find this faction and lynch them. That shouldn't be all that hard...
  17. Yep, I'm sure peace will return once that dastardly Coyote has been dealt with. Joe. Also, though we can't actually call meetings, as that is for the mediums to decide, I was just wondering what the thoughts of everyone here are on them. It might be better to decide that now, rather than when a meeting is actually called.
  18. Sure, what's the point of torches and pitchforks if the torches don't get to give an ominous glow as the mob moves towards the victim's house?
  19. (Yeah, I know, double post. It's been 5 hours though, so I believe it's justified. Correct me if I'm mistaken). Might I suggest everyone who hasn't yet done so takes a look at Doc's post in the wood thread? The latter part is only of particular interest to the forest, but the first part, in which he talks about his new role, should be of interest to the court as well. If what he said is true, we can also be fairly certain that STINK is not an elim. edit: ...or you can read his post below mine, which contains the same info.
  20. @Ecthelion III, during the day you said this (emphasis mine) Maybe I'm missing something, but why do you think either of us would be leaving the court? The only situation I can think of is a meeting. Do you know about some other mechanic that can make someone switch threads, outside of taking the test (which I'm not planning on doing atm)?
  21. That was a rather uneventful first day, which is a bit of a shame, really. Still, it's not like I was front and center trying to promote activity, so it's not like I can blame anyone. Still, I'll try to do better next cycle, and would prefer if everyone else did so as well. Has anyone PM'd Meta and Asterion already to ask them to come Join us in the thread? If not, I'll do so in a bit.
  22. What do you mean by 'allignments can change all the time?' Taking the test removes someone from this thread, while I don't really expect the zeta effect to occur more than once (and who knows what that does exactly). I don't know about any other alignment changing effects (technically, the Medium is one, but it's predictable). The reason no-lynch cycles are dangerous is because it tends to halt discusdion. Lynching a possible inactive isn't going to do much for discussion either in my opinion, though I guess it might be better than nothing?
  23. Yeah, as a tabletop rpg'er/wargamer, I can tell you that the dice gods are real and very bloodthirsty. I'd say the mere existence of the zeta role is temptation enough for them, no reason to add to that by trying to win by mass test.
  24. I guess I'm fine with a no-lynch round. The most important thing to gain from the day 1 lynch is the discussion (usually at least), and I honestly don't see a repeat coming up of LG35 where 10 pages where generated in 6 hours (though if you guys want to do that, don't let my nay-saying stop you). Also, not that it particularly matters at this point, but #VoteSTINK
  25. As opposed to voting for someone who was nominated before that person had made any sort of communication in the thread. It almost makes one wonder if some kind of out-of-thread communication took place, like in a google doc or something (just for the record, I don't think your vote for brightness was alignment indicative, nor do I think STINK's campaign is alignment indicative). Anyway, do you want to get STINK lynched? The rules don't mention a vote treshhold, and your vote is currently the only one. Can someone give me a second opinion on Winter devotion? I don't think I've ever played with him (her?) before, so I'm not sure about what to think about his support for the plan of a mass-test,. Obviously, such a plan would either make things easier for the elims, or outright give them the win, but I don't know how serious he is (as I know from seeing STINK play that he was mostly joking about that plan, so I don't really suspect him over it).
