Okay hi friends big night last night. Full disclosure, Fura PMed me last night and told me their plan to vote Divergent and how they got Kas and Booknewt to agree. At the time, I didn't feel really strongly about either Argenti or Divergent, so when they were still tied I told Fura I was going to stay out of it because I was fine with either of their deaths. I have a lot of thoughts so I'm going to try and outline it. Yesterday's vote: Interesting thing about last cycle was the Argenti vote, when you actually look at it, was a self-preservation vote from both Twinstorm and Divergent. Dead drops I received 2 messages, one with the freedom flavor text and one that Kas claimed last cycle, which was the very utility-centric message with a key word that i was to say in thread and also dead drop. If we are to take into account the distinct 'styles', we have: the star wars flavor text elim who messages everyone, 2 durasteel elims focusing on smaller groups, and the utility-centric elim going one by one. But also the elims could have literally seen us trying to separate people by text styles and just switched it up to mess with us. I do still think it's good to compare what we got and try to guess at strategies they're using, but I think the messages themselves don't lend themselves to concrete analysis The people I actually wanted to chase last cycle were a combination of Kas, IHAT, and Hoid Slayer. I admit I was wrong about Kas because I got the same message. It seems this elim is going person by person while the other ones are just throwing a wide net. Which didn't explain why Hoid Slayer was the only one that got a different list, but I didn't take into account that any combination of Ace/CD/TOW could have gotten them and simply kept quiet. CD I'm surprised by the CD kill. Given the elims killed STINK and Exp last 2 cycles, the pattern seemed to be on returning players who were more active in thread, so I thought it would be me, Fura, Kas, or Booknewt. Wasn't expecting the kill to hit an almost inactive, nor for CD to turn out to be the Supervisor. Running theory is either CD told someone, or like Fura pointed out at least TOW did catch something, or disconnected elims submitting different people. Who I want to question this cycle @Hoid Slayer, since you're actually sticking around, would you care to give some opinions? @IHadAThought who are you voting this cycle? Booknewt is giving you slack because you claimed to be taking advice from STINK, sure, and I know you distrust Kas and me, but who would you vote for this cycle? @Argenti same question to you, we're in day 4, who do you trust? For today I am willing to vote (in order of people I do not trust) IHAT, Worldhopper, Hoid Slayer and/or Argenti. From the sounds of it, Ace is either going to be replaced or we'll be compensated so I'm not looking in that direction.

Okay I tried doing my notepad dump but I don't have time. Today's discussion has really been taken over by messages. And I'm part of that. I spent most of the morning in PMs with almost everyone. Kas and Fura and I were discussing the messages a LOT. Booknewt, Argenti, Twinstorm, IHAT I had pretty brief exchanges. IHAT lied to my face and got exposed, Twinstorm, Argenti and Booknewt said they got nothing. Worldhopper just said no. CD says he got a PM from IHAT and that's it. Ace has not responded at all. And now apparently Hoid Slayer's back even though he told me this morning he wasn't going to be so he's obviously a liar and we should kill him. I think something's going on. I am actually more inclined to trust the two people that could corroborate each other's messages. I actually want to call out either Kas or Hoid Slayer for claiming to have messages that are different and can't be proven. Kas and I were talking about the different styles of messages and theorizing that we had perhaps 3 based on the fact that there have been 3 distinct styles of message, with 2 different elims using the 'durasteel' code word and 1 who was just going 'greetings, i am the isb traitor'. I suppose there's a world where the 2 durasteel elims found each other and are now both sending the same message but with variation. Current vote count seems to be Twinstorm (2) Argenti, Booknewt Ace (1) Kas Honestly, I want to put a vote on either Hoid Slayer, Kasimir, and/or Lotus because at least one of the first two may be lying and Lotus has definitively lied to me. Anyone willing to join me on those?

Still at work so I'm keeping this brief - I've been pming people on my breaks foe the better part of the morning, seeing if anyone received any dead drops because I didn't get any last night. So far Kas and Fura are the only people who've confirmed getting a message to me. The discrepancy we found was that Lotus told Me that they didn't receive a message but told Kas they did. They further claimed to me and apparently Kas that Argenti and TwinStorm received messages, which Argenti is denying and TwinStorm hasn't responded. And yeah Kas says they got a message about a double confirm thing, while Fura says they got one with a list of names which might be who Kas is referring to (I understand politeness but I think it's better for info to have all my cards out right now. I am confused about the third message -I got the durasteel one day 2, but apparently there's a duralumin one too? Are they the same or different ? @IHadAThought ? Care to solidify your story ?

I gave STINK an eh vibe, and voted for him because we needed to vote someone, which hey, turned out well in the end? The peace thing was, at the time, STINK making a joke and me and someone else joining in because we like messing wiht GMs? And yeah, I PM everyone, I enjoy PMs. I have been so sad in the past 3 games where PMs have been very limited, which is why I was so gleeful as I message people. I also don't like and have never liked the distinctions about 'vets'. I don't think it's helpful to say 'you really only want to talk to vets and not the new players because they don't know anything'. I am so extremely amused by this because I do not remember this game at all, and I was saying last game that I was amused by people saying I made a massive information network. I just really like PMing people! And I would have fished more and do plan on fishing more when I have time, so if that makes me suspicious you can vote me I am not entirely opposed to the Unknown vote I am just kind of surprised how quickly it mounted when there was really no real information other than 'oh he's been kind of suspicious'.

I developed a new method of keeping up with thread by having a notepad up and typing into it as I read, which I think is really helpful for me, so have another dump! thoughts: Argenti is a little weird for voting Twinstorm with no explanation. Fura poke votes Argenti for their vote, which sure, they gave the explanation that it's their day 1. I don't like either of those actions. Booknewt - I am a star wars nerd, yeah. But clearly a lot of people in this game enjoy Star Wars I like people who are giving reads. Kas, Booknewt, and Exp make me happy. I set up a whole bunch of PMs yesterday, but then I went to bed and I was busy most of today so I haven't been keeping up. My main conversations are in a group chat that had STINK, Kas, and some others. I chatted with Divergent about our usernames and media. Argenti and I had a brief banter. My PMs are basically me asking everyone if they're evil and obviously everyone said no Yeah that's fine. Divergent. I'd be more inclined to be suspicious in a game where elims know each other, but this just seems like a villager who wanted to tie a vote, which I personally also enjoy doing. I might be stupid Kas but what's the significance of the italics? I thought you're italicizing people who voted for KSOS but why is TUH and Lotus italicized? Votes are very spread out right now. The main discussion of today seems to be whether people who voted for STINK were likely to be the ones that made the shot, and how many elims there are/how likely it is that two or more elims decided to kill the same person. I've listed them below: IHAT(1): Kas (not sure why? Just voting on one of the people who didn't vote for STINK?) Doc(1): IHAT (Because I was one of the people who voted for STINK?) Experience(1): Booknewt (For not voting on STINK and because they know Star wars references) TwinStorm(1): Argenti (No reason given) Argenti(1): Fura (Why did you vote Twinstorm with no reason given) Frankly none of these reasons are very convincing. I am one of the ones who voted on STINK - the first, and I'll readily admit I was just randomly picking someone because it was day 1. I was surprised when KSOS jumped on it, but I was perfectly fine leaving a 3 way tie between STINK, Twinstorm, and KSOS. Then Worldhopper and Divergent showed up to change things. I like ties. I like setting up ties and seeing who does what. Admittedly, this game gives much less information because elims don't even know who each other are, but I do still want to know reasons people feel strongly enough about someone to try and save them from a tie. Divergent gave their explanation. I actually want to throw a vote on Worldhopper so they explain why they felt strongly enough about STINK to try and confirm the kill, but as I said - I don't think Worldhopper is elim (or at least, not the one that killed STINK) because he broke the STINK/Twinstorm/KSOS tie. And secondly I probably won't be around end of cycle again so I don't want a poke vote that I might not be able to respond to even if the other person responds. I do still want my vote to count, though. So I think I'll throw a vote on Argenti - they're clearly around since I had a Pm with them yesterday, and they popped up to correct CD when they thought CD thought KSOS was alive. And then they voted Twinstorm with no explanation. I'll try to be back one more time before rollover.

here are my beat by beat mostly complete notes from yesterday. Agree that its kind of interesting that one or more elims shot STINK when Stink was already up for death. I wasn't active end of cycle but when I went to bed the vote was already tied between KSOS, STINK, and Twinstorm, and I was fine with whatever the result was going to be. In terms of reads nothing really jumped out at me yesterday other than KSOS 'poke voting' STINK when I had already done that, but KSOS is proven village. Another thought I had is that a lot of people - Kas, Exp, Divergent - ascribed feeling positive about STINK. It looks like it was a tie until Worldhopper pushed STINK to the front, and then Divergent stepped in and voted KSOS to make it a tie. (So congratulations Divergent it is very much your fault that our supervisor died ) Worldhopper might be off the hook for trying to confirm the vote on STINK. People who didn't show up last cycle: Fura, CD (though CD did return my message) People who were barely there last cycle: Hoid Slayer, Argenti? Agreed that the dead drops are probably the best source of info we have right now - I got two, one which told me to say a certain word in thread, and one mentioning two planets, both of which have already been shared, I suppose. One of them had a kind of jokey tone which made me think STINK or Unknown, but I hesitate to go that far right now. I kind of trust Kas and Twinstorm and even Unknown a little more for sharing their messages, but it could also be a self-claim. Right now Divergent for the unfortunate vote. Could you tell us what STINK said that made you want to protect him?

I'd like to point out that I was the first to vote for Stink? If anyone I'd vote for KSOS for jumping on my vote I do agree with Kas that the best way to find elims is looking at how relationships change over the game. I am very sleepy so this is all you're getting right now. To that end: 1. TwinStorm Seems chill. PMed me first which I appreciate. 3. The Unknown Hammerer To be fair they do stuff like this all the time. I like them. 4. Divergent We're having a lovely conversation in PMs. 5. Booknewt They were evil in the last game I played with them! I like their vibe though. A little quick to be suspicious of Unknown, but Unknown is a troll. Vote count is a little off. 6. KSauce Eh. They hopped on my STINK vote as a poke, which isn't indicative of really anything, but seems a little opportunistic. 7. CoderDrag0n8 Replied in PMs and confirmed they were busy *shrug 8. Argenti Glory to the Empire! 9. ThatOneWorldhopper Keeping my eye on you 10. Hoid Slayer Have they popped up yet? 11. Furamirionind Have they popped up yet? 12. Experience Seems fun! No idea how they play but we're having fun chatting. Seems to be keeping a closer eye on the vote count. 13. -ACE- Welcome! Have they popped up yet? 14. IHadAThought You're doing great so far bud! 15. STINK We're chatting. Seems fine. 16. Kasimir I like Kas but also I do not remember how they play at all. Still respect them enough to not trust them at all. EDIT so, three way tie? Neat. Honestly really don't feel strongly enough about anyone to change things. So... goodnight! don't do any crazy pre-rollover shenanigans while I'm gone!

@KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren does it really matter how the distro is picked? I feel like I've noticed in more recent games (Joe's MR, Aman's LG, this game) people asking how the GM picks the distro, which is kind of a weird question, really. Seems like the main way its used is to kind of ask 'did you put two vet players together' kind of thing? Agree with Kas its a weird question to ask, but it does seem to be a question that's being asked more recently.

I actually just realized rollover is like 1 AM for me, which is pretty rude of Drake. I might be able to stay up that late on weekends, but I have a day job that has me wake at 6, so I won't be present for those. Current vote count Ksauce (1) Twinstorm Unknown (1) Drake Twinstorm (1) Ihadathought I feel like this cycle is even weirder than most day 1 votes just because as Kas said there's not many connectives and elims wouldnt' even know if one of their own is on the block. But if we have to kill someone, then STINK for naming their character too similar to mine.

Lieutenant Cal Kyte stands out of place. Dressed in a white ISB uniform, yes, but there are traces of soot and ash, dried fluids on his boots. His face, at least, is clean, and there seems efforts to shave. He openly carries a rather large blaster, which led to an argument outside the meeting room before he grudgingly surrendered it to the guards. Greetings everyone. I am Lieutenant Kyte, assigned to a sector in the Outer Rim. Apologies for missing the introductions and my state of dress, negotiations with the Hutts over hyperspace lanes and tolls... dragged slightly. Now. I missed our good director's initial pitch, but I understand we're cracking down further on so called 'rebel activity'. Nebulous, abstract... I would like to know if anyone has anything more concrete. What sectors? What planets? The Outer Rim is of course a breeding ground of plague, crime, and dissent, but I am led to believe that the focus is on one of your good little 'Core Worlds', where we can't just send platoons of stormtroopers without 'good cause' without alarming the Senate. Oh... Lotus, is it? Of course, of course, the Empire is better than that. You'd probably prefer to call it a... pruning, perhaps. Cutting out the rot. Surgery. Amputation, to use our good director's words. I can't say my methods - namely five dropships full of stormtroopers and K2 droids - are suited to such nice, clean, perfect little worlds. He sits, placing his boots on the table. Well. Let's see how this goes! You people tell me your neat little methods, where none of you get your nice clean uniforms dirty, and hope that the good director doesn't think my Outer Rim methods are...necessary! Edit: Actual analysis - so this game seems pretty simple, simply kill the rebel spymaster before they get the chance to recruit anyone and we win cycle 1!

LG108, Aftermath — The Battle of Diggen's Point
Doc12 replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh, yeah. Armiel. Got thoroughly taken in by Shifter, but you tried your best, and that's all anyone can ask for! Also where did the idea that I was some kind of mastermind during LG107 with my 'information network' even come from? I just talked at everyone and died night 2 Re: Hammers - I've said it somewhere else - Hammers are a byproduct of elims being able to coordinate. Is it valid? Yes. Is it particularly fun when you're a villager with no real way to counter it? No? I liked the recent MR with the 15 minute extensions - a hammer formed during cycle 4, but because of the extension Aman and I were able to respond in time, which felt really good as a villager. It seems silly to say to the elims "Hey you can hammer but could you be nice enough to at least do it half an hour to an hour before rollover so villagers have a chance?" I guess in the end its up to the elims sense of Honor (Who is dead, so...) -

I died so early so I don't feel bad at all Hoid Slayer and Joe fighting was very funny to watch when I learned the truth. -
Going through the list: Aww I know all these people!! Mage and I were buddies! There's Bugsy, stick and Dani, ecth and elenion, lopen, drought bringer, Aman's there spectating... Wait that's me?? I was in this game?? I miss my friends *returns to being dead*

I mean, it was just an idle question? This was before Aman posted the actual amounts of spores and we realized they were limited. I was just puzzling out game mechanics in lieu of actual suspicion, which, I agree with Araris, it's not going to be a lot because there's no exe today. /shrug. Again, without any actual suspicions yet, let's go through the list for Braid's impressions, shall we? @Araris Valerian — Armiel — Novice Braid wants oranges. You can live on Verdant for long voyages, but they don't have enough...whatever it is that keeps your teeth from falling out. Thank you for offering to be the chef by the way, Braid respects the cook. Braid will not harm the cook. Braid can accept their hand in friendship. @Belandrius Ohhmar — thOmmAs — Apprentice Rival. Likes vowels. Toss em overboard so Braid can take their spot. @The Unknown Hammerer — Illi — Master Braid likes you because they want to be apprenticed under a master. They also appreciate that you seem open to trades! Braid will surpass you someday. But for now they are humble and willing to learn. @TwinStorm — Rane — Master Seems unnecessarily cryptic Braid will surpass you someday. But for now they are humble and willing to learn. @CoderDrag0n8 — Sozar — Apprentice Rival. Really likes drinking water and really wants Roseite. Which, fair. But also roseite is going to be extremely prized so I don't think you can convince people not to try for it. Toss em overboard so Braid can take their spot. @ThatOneWorldhopper — Fuejrheisjjeirjeujdjeuuduwii — Novice Rude. Toss em overboard just because. @RoyalBeeMage — William Thorne — Apprentice Rival. Not really any impressions yet. Toss em overboard so Braid can take their spot. @Hoid Slayer — Shifter — Novice I like Shifter. They're a little crazy. But their heart seems to be in the right place. A little eager to get the blood shed, but can't hold that against a sailor. Braid can accept their hand in friendship. @IcedOutPenguin — Itenii — Novice Acting pretty much how I expect them to act XD. Terse, but fun. Braid can accept their hand in friendship. @A Jo in the Bush — Emmett — Novice Braid wants some Celeste spores ASAP what would Emmett be open to trading for? Braid might have another variety of spores they can trade! Braid can accept their hand in friendship. @STINK - Roberto - Apprentice Rival. Here for a cruise. Toss em overboard so Braid can take their spot.
-
Rude. Gonna sic my midnight essence on you ASAP Do we have anything to discuss so far? Right now it seems like everyone's scrambling for Roseite, which makes sense as it's a protect (not necessarily a protect against kill though if you're a novice and there are multiple actions against you in a night). I asked Aman how who gets what is determined, but didn't get an answer yet. No exe today means no real pressure, which is nice for getting to know each other? No one's acting particularly suspicious other than Worldhopper . Maybe Hoid Slayer for poke voting Araris but it's a poke vote Can't wait to actually get some PMs up... I'll probably be able to set one up tonight but I'll only be able to reach one person, so feel free to Zephyr me, I love chatting
-
Braid immediately turns around to give Illi the exact same pitch
-
"Master Rane!" Braid elbowed past the other men (Sorry Bee and Coder I'm starting a rivalry ), presenting themselves with a slight bow. She tried for a smile, which probably looked more pained than she realized, "I'm called Braid, and I know, i know that your Apprentice spots are filled, but perhaps you might consider taking me on too? I'm not afraid of hard work, or of spores," she holds up her hand with the missing fingers, "and I have just so many sketches!" Saying so, she thrusts several pieces of parchment from her knapsack in Rane's face (You get a glimpse of surprisingly neat handwriting, some well-drawn diagrams, and flashes of titles such as "Sun death ray" or "Rain of blood-spikes") She puts the pieces back in her knapsack, words still spilling out, "I've loved spores all my life, and I just want someone wiser and more experienced to really help me bring my designs to their full potential! You might say I'm a spore myself, just waiting for some water to really blow up some expectations! I promise, promise that I'll make you prouder than whoever you already have signed up!" Finally she stops, panting slightly. Straightens. "Oh, I almost forgot to ask! Master Rane, what spores are you planning to specialize in?"
-
Braid is a tall, muscled person with long, slicing scars on their arms. They're missing a couple fingers on their right hand. Their most prominent feature is, of course, the long braid of dark hair that hangs almost to their calves. Or perhaps it's the scowl they're almost constantly sporting at the world. She prowls. Snaps. Fidgets. Watches the demonstration and her fellow recruits with sharp, calculating eyes. Braid was annoyed. Somehow, even though they had specifically tried to arrive early to the docks, somehow she'd failed to secure a Master and was stuck in the rank of Novice. To work their way up the ranks... It was going to take a blasted long time. She glared, slightly resentfully, at the the four lucky apprentices. Perhaps there was a way she could prove herself enough...catch the eye of a Master, even? And another thing - the verdant sea? She hated it. The color was all wrong. And it was boring. Everyone knew the weather patterns, and it was far less likely to actually kill you. Also vines freaked her out. The way they twisted and grabbed and strangled? At least the Crimson killed you fast and straightforward. And lastly, as begrudgingly impressed as she had been by the crew's little demonstration, she had come up with the design first. But oh try patenting a design when you lived in the Crimson and there wasn't any settlements nearby to tell about your inventions. She thought of the plans she had painstakingly drew in her knapsack ready to proudly present to the Captain of the Rat's Tale. No use to those now. Now to work her way up, to impress someone important, she was going to have to come up with something far more interesting, and probably far more risky. Perhaps she ought to procure some sunlight? Maybe that cook Armiel would have some... ------------------ Hello hello! I've read and reread the rules and the mechanics are really interesting! No execution today, which makes it a nice breather. It also means there's not much to discuss other than game mechanics. Interesting that everyone knows each other's rank. Seems like it just puts a target on the two Masters since they're the most powerful roles. I also think that there's not going to be much ranking up as it takes so much XP to move ranks. As a novice, if I theoretically gain max XP each cycle, it'll still take around 3 cycles to even reach Apprentice, and advancing higher seems unlikely with such a small player pool. *shrug* I don't suppose people want to share what spores they're going for tonight? I'll freely share that I'm grabbing some roseite
