  1. That's awesome, and, best of all, it means I get to participate this cycle! Yay! Now, excuse me while I read over the thread and get my bearings.
  2. This is probably going to be my last post until cycle 5. I'll be out of town, so I won't be able to post for the next whole cycle. Sorry.
  3. Technically, my character was waiting for Tiberius for hours, and I never said he was late. I was on time! Bwahahah! I did it really early, and then later I felt like RPing it out. I wanted to see how Lucius would cheer someone, seeing as I couldn't really picture him sitting on the sidelines cheering him. No, I voted, first page. I also want to be the third person in a row this cycle to use the word trigger happy, so I think Rae's being a bit trigger happy. I mean, transparancy is great, but theres a point at which I start to wonder if it's all a show. It also makes a bit of a target out of you, which is an odd thing to do. Actually, this is the first game where I've really seen a lot of Rae, but that might just be me. So, there's that. I think the fact that the vote is being directed en masse is good, but two prospective kills? Meh. I'll think about it, and maybe vote or propose someone later. Lucius stalked along the halls. Nyanah was proposing an organized assasination. He snorted. More death? Organized by a group of people whose nerves were pulled so taut that they were ready to snap? This would never end well. Sanis was standing there, facing his accusations, his face a stone. Lucius prided himself on his control of his emotions, but this was insane. The man must be mad. Was he... Was he smiling? And, though he had promised to speak to Lumina, he would not even speak to her. Spartacus was aloof as ever, holding his peace and talking in a way that seemed almost... forced? It would be good to get to know him better. Lucius stopped walking. He took a moment to get his bearings, having lost himself in his thoughts. Ah. That was the way. Lucius took a left, intending to find Spartacus. Doc, when you get on, you can decide whether or not Lucius finds you.
  4. Lucius had waited for hours for Tiberius to show up. He didn't. Later, when he had gone down to see how Kavax was doing, he had found instead a nurse telling him to go to a graveyard. Needless to say, Lucius was not in a good mood. Sevro had been found to be a Foresworn, of all things, and now Sanis was being challenged to a duel for the same reasons. Lucius shook his head, disgusted. The very thought was repulsive. He couldn't beleive that of Sanis. Sanis was cold, cruel, and calculating, but a Foresworn? It just seemed so... wrong. He wasn't a Rath, after all, and Golds should have more honor than that. However. The Gold calling Sanis' honor into question was presenting facts. Facts that were hard to ignore, especially with Sanis looking as pale as he did. Lucius growled. How could this have happened? How could our magnificent Society be falling apart? He let his eyes scan the room, hopping from person to person. Lumina, Jackal, Quintus, Rylos. On and on through the crowd. Moments like this, they were almost enough to make one lose his faith in humanity. Lucius barked a laugh. What little he had, anyway. Power, greed, envy. Were these all that motivated men? Was there nothing more? Lucius was motivated by duty. He had hoped, in younger days, that there was more, but he had been in too many wars to hope anymore. "Lumina." Lucius said, hesitant. He steeled himself. He shook his head. "Do what needs to be done." With that, he turned, and faded into the crowd. Well, that came out rather nicely. I felt like RPing my cheer for Elbereth out, and that happened. Nice. Also, I would like to note that I now have 17 Merit. I started with 5, and no items. (Beyond the PM thing and the whisperGem.) An interesting note; Someone bought a holoBox last night. Not sure who. This is actually a pretty good idea. It's another bonus to the Julii plan, which is working out pretty well. I would agree with it more if someone would come up with a good other person to lynch. I don't have strong enough reads on anyone to suggest someone off my original list, which isn't really strong enough for me to use my Duel yet, anyway. Another thing that has drawn my attention is that Assassin still has not responded to Sheeps summons even though he has been on since it happened. I know this is a bit tired by now, but Assassin has a history of avoiding attention by staying quiet. It could just be his playstyle, but I would like it if he contributed a bit more. Same for all the innactives.
  5. The only thing I would say about this is that now no one else will really do anything this cycle. While the memorable, cool RP reveal is good, what are other people going to do this cycle? I mean, there will always be some discussion, which is what this post is mainly going to be for/about, but I kind of wish you had waited, although it doesn't make a lot of sense strategy-wise. On another note, I was actually pretty suspicious of you earlier, and this just made up for it. Nice work, btw. Ok, I'm going to list most of my suspicions here, as well as put up some plans. Elbereth should probably get some protection tonight, as well. I'm a little suspicious of Rae, even though she did help kill an Elim, it seemed a little like putting a vote on a fellow Elim to put distance between you and them, plus, later, she basically just announced suspicions and RP'ed, right until the end where she noted that she would like to call off the duel, because no one had really defended Bugsy. Plus, it would have been difficult to jump off him without looking suspicious after so many people agreed with her, and a few even jumped on. Jondesu, I would say, I have a bit of a bad read on, mostly because he's only posted RP, and then made a slightly odd vote, but I'm willing to say that's just because he's new here, and say the same for the gut read. Bard and Lopen have both been pretty quiet, but I'm not sure what to make of that, but Rae is one of the people who thought Lopen was acting suspicious. Again, not sure. I have a really good read on Doc. Obviously, he basically built the plan that caught us Wonko, and it was revealed by Bugsy, another known elim. Elbereth, obviously good, as long as Wonko proves to really be an Elim, which looks likely. Everyone else is mostly on the grey scale. I'm not sure what to make of the shear magnitude of the RP in this game, so that's confusing me a bit. Right. That's about all I have to say on my suspicions for now. Discuss away. Hopefully I'll be able to get some RP up later. I wasn't on most of this morning 'cause I was taking the PSAT, which, if you're wondering, went well.
  6. Wow. All the reveals. This looks pretty conclusive, so Elbereth. I do think I'd like to hear Wonko's end, however. I also hope this doesn't kill discussion.
  7. Lucius stared as a glowing creature descended from the clouds, deafening everyone with it's voice. It looked down, and thus it spoke; 'Hey guys, this looks cool and all, but sorry, but I don't have the time. Have fun!' And it ascended back into the clouds. Lucius fainted. Well, that was amusing. I spent a few minutes laughing just now. Just to make sure someone gets this right. @The_Lady_of_Chaos.
  8. I believe Rae is the one who challenged Bugsy. She 'duels' him. Now for some RP. Lucius glared at Tiberius as he stalked out. Kavax had been a good man, one of the few who excepted Lucius, and who Lucius liked in return. Tiberius had liked Kavax. Lucius shook his head, trying to puzzle out what was going on as he stalked towards the war room. Tiberius had exploded over that bird. Wasted emotion, to invest in a bird. Wasted emotion in general. The girl had had no business doing such a thing, in a place or time like this, but it was nothing to rage over. Throw the girl out, buy a new bird; Situation fixed! And now they were all headed to the war room. This did not bode well. To make matters worse, the conversation with Sanis had been completely unproductive. He had been cold; That was expected, but he had also been distant, his mind on other things. He had exchanged a few pleasantries, as pleasant as Sanis could be, anyway, before walking off. Just before Tiberius had knocked Kavax cold. Lucius sighed. He hoped Kavax was well. Perhaps he would have time to talk after the War Council.
  9. I... Didn't think of that. It doesn't seem unlikely, but someone smarter than me would have to do the numbers. It'd probably be good for balance reasons, as far as that goes, but I'm not sure beyond that. Technically Aman could have given them an ionBlade for balance reasons, but I'm not sure. The evidence for them not having it would seem pretty good to me. Like Bard said, unless it was an inactive who got the blade, then there should have been a kill last cycle. There wasn't one, which would seem to point towards it not having been received, at least in my opinion. I keep getting ninja'd as I try to post this.
  10. That's odd. I don't see why they would do that. Why waste a kill? Plus, the ionBlade goes to the most active player, technically, so they should probably have placed a kill. The only likelihood that I can see is that the ionBlade went to someone who could not have been on at rollover. As far as that goes, it's not really what makes me think he might be an Elim. I more want to see his alignment as an indicator for further suspicions. That's not really a great reason to lynch him, so I'm not going to cheer for either side as of now, but I kind of want to see where this goes. If he is or is not an Elim, it will still give us usable data, which is what I'm looking for. I only have some half suspicions, which is why I want a lynch to happen, regardless. edit; Accidently clicked the post key. It's good that Doctor called out the innactives. We've seen a few of them respond now, which I'm happy about, especially considereing how quiet this thread has been. I'll have some RP up later today, hopefully. @Wonko the Sane, since you appear to have gone quiet, I'm just going to have Lucius have had walked away from Sanis after Tiberius hit Kavax, unless you really want to post some RP with him.
  11. The principle of the idea is solid, it just involves killing a villager. The unfortunate thing about this game is that there are no definite alignment scans. This means that either of the Lunes could be evil, and we would not know it until we killed one. It's not the best idea for this game, so I'd say that the current best thing to do is Elbereth/Your plan. Having Lunes could be helpful, but I don't think they scan alignment, which makes things difficult. About your list; I'm pretty sure both Wonko and Burnt have actually posted some game related stuff. I know I responded to something Burnt said about lynch mechanics. Lynching someone after they give you info is the surest way to clear there info, unless they are an Elim. This is why my Lune idea holds as much water as it does. The thing is, this process is better for a LG, because we have more time. In a MR? I'm not sure we'll have long enough to make it work. And it involves killing. I might be somewhat innactive after cycle 3/4, depending. I'll still have access to a comp, so I might post a bit, but I'll be very busy.
  12. Red Rising, as a whole, was very nice. I have trouble finding books that suit my fancy, and this was excellent. The Golden Son was... interesting. You sort of have to read it for yourself. There were a lot of things I did not expect, and while I was genuinely confused for the first half of the book, the end rounded out rather nicely, though it was unexpected. I'm looking forwards to reading the third one.
  13. Wait, aren't the Foresworn trying to overthrow Tiberius? And so, if Tiberius killed Kavax, why would the Foresworn be dishonored? Besides being evil, they haven't done anything yet. Ope. Ninja'd by Aman. Now I want to kill the Forsworn. Also, it says that darkness entered the room. Darkness. Guys, Darkness is an Elim confirmed. Alright. Seriousness now. I honestly don't know what to think of lynching Bugsy. I can't think of anyone better; it's D1. And there are already reasons to lynch him. I don't see a good reason not to, but I think I'll reserve my vote for now. This. This, and the fact that the current lynch suspect has Elbereth on his most trusted list. I tend to start the game not trusting anyone, so things like this make me wary. Also, the correlation between the way Bugsy has brought up fun to defend his actions, and Elbereth has done to defend hers. It just seems like too much of a coincidence to me. This is one of the reasons I could see it being a good idea to lynch Bugsy, but I don't think I'll cheer for anyone this cycle. On another note, it's nice to see how many items there are. I don't know that anyone will have enough to buy them D1, but it's nice to see that there's plenty.
  14. Well, the cycle's going to end in like 4 minutes. I wonder what's going to happen.
  15. That's one of the reasons I said that I thought it was a bad idea. I don't think lowering our number to make sure we have accurate info is a good idea. Lucius sighed. Sanis moved to quickly, as usual. His reputation proceeded him, and flaunt it as he did, he would garner no friends tonight. Lucius chuckled. Well, he made no friends either. His reputation came at a cost as well. But it was worth it. He was trusted, and he was known to be able to get jobs done. That was one of the reasons that Tiberius valued him as much a he did. That, and his house. He brought skills to the table that others could not, but it was alliances that kept Tiberius' throne together. Lucius looked over at Sanis. He seemed frustrated. Lucius sighed. Best to keep an eye on Sanis, make sure no trouble got started in that quarter. Lucius made his way towards Sanis, hoping that the the conversation could be kept to a minimum. "Sanis." Lucius adressed his fellow, warming his face slightly. "I see you've lost your... entertainment. I hope you don't mind my joining you?" Not sure if I'll be back on before Rollover to respond to whatever you decide, Wonko. I'll try, but I have somewhere to be.
  16. The thing is, I could see that I don't need merit right now, so I could use it on PM's. But I know that later, I'll want to have some form of protection. And I know that that will be rather difficult to come by, even if I do get up to 20 merit. Right now, I think I'll get maybe five, and if I get that little, I'll be wanting to save up for some protection. Ideally, we could get a Lune to claim, have them find another Lune, and then lynch the first to hard-clear the second. It's a rather tedious method, and involves lynching a potential villager, but it's the best way to hard-clear people. I would not suggest this, however, partially because it involves killing a scanner, and partially because it makes the game less fun. I think that for this game, we'll mostly have to be happy with getting role claims and a few Lune role finds, and have to deal with that how we may. I like the direction that the Julii/ionBlade soft scanner is going. I think it's probably the best idea for finding Elims, even if it does have some flaws. Depending on how things go, I might send out one or two PM's next cycle. If I feel like I have enough saved.
  17. It's somewhat amusing how many people are waiting for El to give the go ahead on some RP. I think two are following her, and two more are following them. Then there's two watching it happen... This is going to be a rather large event. I intend to RP out my characters reaction, so I guess I'm waiting on Elbereth as well.
  18. That's what I was thinking. If gravity has less time to act on you in comparison to how fast you are moving, that would mean that gravity would have a lesser effect, IMO. I think it would depend on how you think of gravity. However, if you were falling, and increased the time you had to fall, I feel like you would not speed up in real time. That's why I don't think it would work the whole time, only while you were exerting the force against gravity.
  19. Ah. You are operating under the assumption that speed is a straight multiplier, and that it increases velocity, for lack of a better term. I wonder about that. I always assume it increases the time in which you can do things, instead of acting as a velocity multiplier. I could understand the way you are saying it could work, but I've always been prejudiced towards the other way.
  20. I'm not quite getting what the Steel (speed) is being used for. Would you mind explaining that to me? I have an idea that might work the way you are thinking, but I'd like to see where you were going with it.
  21. I'm fairly certain that you can't be from two houses. It doesn't make a lot of sense, from a OOG perspective, or from a balance perspective. If I ever get enough Merit to get an ionBlade, which seems somewhat unlikely, I'm not sure that I'll want to notify the thread. I'd be worried that the Elims will start targeting people who have ionBlades, to insure that they are getting the only kill. It will probably be helpful to clear someone especially for that purpose. It would work sort of like QF15, except we would actually have cleared the person getting the info. I like Doc's plan, but I feel we're going to run into some difficulties now that Bugsy has spread it all over the thread. Not sure that that was such a good idea. Also, the idea that you could force different people to get the highest merit each cycle would sort of kill discussion depending on who you had do it, and how it was done. I won't really be able to keep up with some of the other posters here, simply because of scheduling conflicts. I'm sure that I'm not the only one, either.
  22. I could see that becoming a problem, but now that you've brought it up, it should be less of a problem, I doubt the Elims will risk it, and if they do, it will be somewhat obvious, IMO. As far as what I'll be saving for, merit wise, I'll probably be saving for protective items. I have a rather large fear of night kills. The ghostCloak or fleshMask seem nearly as helpful as the pulseShield, so I guess it depends how I feel when I reach that much merit. It seems like it could take while, so I'll probably be posting pretty regularly. RP time. Lucius watched in silence as Sanis frightened the skins off of three Golds. He very nearly smiled at that. Jefry. Tenebrum. Faces from the past, and though Lucius had distanced himself from most of his fellows, he still had some fond memories of the Institute. Hmm. He smiled to himself. Yes, the Institute had some very fond memories. It had hardened him, made him what he was now, and he had enjoyed every minute of it. Sanis did look rather... amusing in that knotted cloak of his. Lucius chuckled at the thought of a Gold doing such a thing. He wondered who had been up to it.
  23. Oblong? For being an Eldritch Abomination.
  24. Lucius sat quietly in a chair, watching. He sighed as he watched as people talked among themselves, making small talk. He did not care for such things. The palace was abuzz with chatter and commotion. It made it so... difficult to get things done. The crowd of people were beginning to obstruct his view, and that would do no good. He stood, and began to make his way towards the edges of the room. People parted around him; His physique had always been impressive, but most Gold's were, no, it was not his height or bulk that made people stand aside. It was his face, his eyes. He had been told by those with a kinder bent that he had a hawkish face, stern. Those with more honesty about them had informed him that he had eyes that could pierce a pulseShield, that the gold that infused them could have been steel, for all the warmth they contained. And his face... No one could have called it pretty, and he himself would call it harsh. And though most would not find his appearance pleasing, Lucius had always appreciated the sight of crowds splitting. It certainly helped now, as he found his way to a new spot. He settled himself in a place not too far from a man named... Spartacus, who seemed to be waiting for something. He too was watching the crowds- he would bear watching. Danii and Burganna seemed out of place, but that could be simple anxiety. Lucius would have been nervous at a party such as this, not to long ago. No longer. Now, he watched, and waited, for whatever may come next... Finally had time to get around to this. Note that any suspicions I state in the RP don't necessarily translate into the game, they simply are making response to other peoples RP's. I'm probably going to post something on my thoughts later, when I have more to say. This game is going to change how I make posts, because of the whole 100 word merit thing.
