  1. Lisa brushed aside Arun's skirt, making sure she had a clean view of the wound. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself and stop her hands from shaking. Then she put one hand below the wound, and grabbed the shard with her other hand. "Sorry," she said in an apologetic tone. She then pulled the shard out in as straight a line as she could manage. @Blessing of Potency
  2. Lisa nodded. "Alright, make sure to wash your hands as well, and make sure that you don't touch the ground after washing them. We don't want the wound to get dirty."
  3. Lisa gingerly touched the wine. Not getting burned she nodded. "Everything's ready," she said. "Let's get started before we lose any more light. She brought the pan over to the Arun, and grabbed a small, sturdy piece of wood, and handed it to Arun. "Bite down on this when we start," she said. "Pour some wine over my hands please," she asked Renata. "I need to make sure they're clean. Also, who's going to do the sewing, if we need it?" @Blessing of Potency
  4. Ooh, right, forgot that existed.
  5. Perhaps New Years day, or Thanksgiving? All the noise from the fireworks would make screams, gunshots and explosions hard to hear.
  6. I can't really see the issue for either of the two. First of all, Epic abilities that cancel other abilities are already a thing, and it's also canon that Prime Invincibilities are a lot harder to affect. Also, while Leachers could probably shut down active abilities (or possibly PIs as well if they flared their metal), it would be temporary, and the abilities would come back again when the Leacher stops, since they don't have the Investure inside their own body, the Investure is continuously pumped in from an external source. I don't really see why Epic abilities require such a massive amount of Investure. While they'd probably use more than your average Cosmere Invested it probably would only be more by a factor of 3-5. And even if they needed much more Investure, we've got no real idea of how much Investure a shard has, but I think that it's massive enough that even a single shard should not have an issue dealing with it. (Also, what's the issue with a Calamity being a Harmony level Shard?)
  7. Lisa nodded, and sighed in relief. "Keep the net handy," she said. "If it does show up it'll probably be useful. And even if it doesn't we can probably use it for other things as well."
  8. "... I see," Lisa said, feeling scared. "Still, just because it's here doesn't mean that it'll show itself. Also, just because all we've seen is an eye doesn't mean that's the full creature. The rest might just be invisible, or on a different plane of existence."
  9. Lisa took the pills. After looking them over a bit she put them in her pocket. "Best not to use them in that case," she said. "Just as likely to be a pain killer or antitbiotic as it is to be some kind of blood thinner." She took a look at what Lizanne was doing. "Are you sure that is a good idea?" she asked nervously. "I've got a feeling that we really don't want that thing to come here. Besides, it probably won't show itself until most of us are asleep." She cringed as soon as she said that.
  10. I guess the easiest would be to treat Calamity as a Shard, with every Epic having Connection to him to supply the Investure, as well as shaping it for every specific Epic. Either that or being given powers by calamity modifies your Spiritweb, with Calamity just supplying Investure, not shaping it. Gifting could work by the Gifter creating a temporary Connection between them and the person that they're gifting powers to, allowing part of the Investure to flow to them. Assumers could work the other way, creating a Connection that allows them to steal the Investure instead. Of course, I'm probably missing a lot here, and I'm not an expert on Epic powers. It's probably best to just ask @Voidus.
  11. Check the Longpoint Station thread. Edit:
  12. Lisa looked up. "Do they have a label?" She asked. "Otherwise, does he have any rashes, or small, infected injuries?" She gave Lizanne an apologetic look. "You might have to look under his cloths, chances are that any rashes are likely at his feet or in more ... sensitive areas."
  13. Lisa nodded back to Renata, and focused on the cooking wine, sometimes looking around her nervously, still scared of the talk about the eye. After a few minutes she lifted the pot from the fire, setting it down beside her so it could cool down. She turned away from the fire, staring at the woods, contemplating where everything had gone wrong. She had a hard time deciding between coming to the alleyverse and accepting the doctor's invitation.
  14. Lisa gave Renata a sheepish look. "Um, sorry, I'm currently sterilizing them," she said in a apologetic tone, "so you'll have to wait until the wine has cooled down again. Still, we won't know if we need to sew up the wound until the glass is out, so it's better to have it sterilized anyway, since we can't do it when we've already started, and I don't want to sew up her wounds with equipment that isn't sterilized, since it'll probably create a bad infection." @Voidus
  15. Lisa nodded. She thought for a bit, and took another look at the wound. "Well," she said softly, "with a bit of luck we might not even need to stitch the wound. If it doesn't bleed that badly we could probably just use bandages. It isn't as if the cut is that wide." She really hoped it was the case, since nobody here was likely able to properly stitch a wound. "Anyway, I'm going to sterilize these," she said, holding up the bandages and tools. "I want to get this whole thing done while it isn't completely dark yet." She walked back to the cooking wine, taking the bandages, needle and thread from the pouches, and dropped them into the wine.
  16. Lisa took the pouches, looking around nervously, scared at the talk about the eye. Trying to distract herself she looked at the picture Renata was showing her. "Probably the anomaly in the cognitive realm he was talking about," she said. "I can't really give more info though, not without more information on the cognitive realm in general, or without having a look at the math involved. First instincts give me the idea that it is a form of Einstein-Rosen Bridge though. I guess the weird mists and shaking was us going through it. I can take a look at it later, but I have to sterilize these first," she said, holding up the pouches. "By the way," she asked, curiously, "Who is going to take care of stitching the wound?"
  17. Lisa watched as the cup slowly filled with alcohol. Not a lot, but it would have to do. When the wine started cooking she withdrew the cup, making sure that no water ended up in it. She walked up to the others. "I've got the alcohol, and the wine is cooking." She said. "Do you have the bandages, needle and thread for me?" She took a second look at the group. "What are you doing?" She asked, curious.
  18. "Sort of," Lisa replied. "I want to get the alcohol out of the wine." She thought for a bit. "Actually, I wonder if it's even necessary. I mean, given the amount of alcohol in this wine it probably won't have any germs in it anyway." She massaged her temples. "Ugh, if only I knew which was better."
  19. Lisa took the bowl. "Thanks," she said. She started looking around for some tarp or metal that could catch the evaporating alcohol.
  20. Lise looked through the wreckage, finding a smaller, damaged pan. She examined it, and after seeing that it didn't have any holes in it, took it back to the rest of the group. "Hey," she said. "I found the pan. Does anyone have something to catch the evaporating alcohol?"
  21. @Voidus@Fatebreaker
  22. Lisa nodded. "I'll start looking for a pan to boil the wine in, as well as something we can use to catch the alcohol."
