  1. This thread is for discussing general things about characters, both for proposed characters as well as asking about things on the Index, possible powers, general feedback on ideas, or just to give mods (and other people) a first look at the character. The other character thread is for actually submitting characters, and collecting them into a single list (though you can submit characters here as well).
  2. Aylitha watched the grunt drop of the roof, taking the man with them. Shrugging she stood up, looking around at the others still there. In the end she decided to walk over to the two guild leaders, figuring that it might be good to know what they were planning to do. @Sorana @I think I am here.
  3. I don't know, we might be able to use it to some degree if we tweak it a bit, not as a main plot but as the side-effects of the Stranger working on the Worldspike. It would give a good way for giving people hints something is going on, and would allow people to interact with what's going on to some degree.
  4. Aylitha watched the grunt drag off the person they had been fighting. She took a deep breath, just so that she could let out a sigh. Internally she debated if she should save him or not. It wasn't as if they'd be much help based on their current performance. She shook her head, and with a wave of her hand sent a number of tentacles from her body to attack the grunt. If it worked she'd get rid of those grunts once and for all, and if she didn't... Well, no skin of her back. Aylitha tilted her head, looking lost in thought. "Maybe, I guess?" She shook her head, small tentacles growing from the bridge, whipping around her. "I have the location of their leader, at least from before he launched this attack. Maybe we could pay him a visit, persuade him to stop this? Dealing with those things is getting boring." " she had a sweet smile on her face as she said it, but her voice sounded annoyed, or maybe angry. She paused, tilting her head as if listening to something. She was, in some way, though she was listening to her bugs and her other body. "Apparently the other guild leaders are busy," she said, sounding a little exasperated. "The Canton and Ghostblood leaders are dealing with some of the enemy forces, together with one of my other bodies. TUBA seems to be busy in their tunnels." She smiled at the irony, the Underground Bakery being stuck underground, right where they belonged. "The forces of the other guilds seem to be busy dealing with these creatures, I don't expect them to be able to offer any real help." She smiled. "So," she asked, "what are you two up to this fine morning?"
  5. Shade nodded, forcing a smile. "Alright," she said, "thank you." She stood up and walked to the door. Outside she sighed, leaning against the wall. In the end she ended up taking a walk outside, partially masking her presence to avoid attention.
  6. The blast pierced through Aylitha, not even giving her a chance to evade. It burned through her, spread through her body, igniting it, only ashes remaining, slowly falling down on the Leader's corpse. The heat hit the sabretooth as well, even if it didn't directly touch it. The skin closest to the beam burst into flame, the beast unable to get away because of its broken legs. It too burned away, though slower. Only the knight had time to react, throwing itself away from the Leader, from the heat. Part of its skin caught fire as well, but it managed to purge it in time to avoid burning up entirely. It just laid there on the roof, slowly healing, body changing into a copy of Aylitha.
  7. The knight got kicked back a few meters, deceptively light for its size, just managing to stop itself from falling over backwards by leaning on its halberd. Meanwhile the kicks hit home on the sabretooth, breaking it's hind legs and breaking open its stomach. It tried to bite down on the leader, impale her on its teeth, but the lack of its hind legs limited its movement, making it hard for it to get into a position to bite down on the Leader's neck, it's long teeth instead hitting her breastplate, lacking force behind them. Aylitha saw her chance though. Rushing forwards she raised her spear, stabbing it down at the Leader's head. Meanwhile the knight started to recover, getting ready to charge back in. *** Aylitha walked along the side of the crater, spotting Voidus and the Stranger standing there inside it. Walking up to them as close as she could her moss started growing over the edge, forming into a thin bridge reaching to their platforms. She started walking towards them, smiling at the devastation they were causing, though she shook her head when she looked at the greatshell. Investure, she thought, slightly annoyed. Well, it isn't like he'll change after a few centuries, I guess. Too bad. The challenge in doing it with just biology was much more entertaining. "Greetings," she said to them, a bright smile on her face.
  8. Here it is: I don't think it's canon though, since this came at the end of what was essentially a godmod battle, which eventually just became ridiculous enough Voidus needed to step in.
  9. Ah, right. I think there was some other weird stuff going on as well, though I'm not sure anymore what.
  10. It involved ascending to the Devotion shard IIRC.
  11. ... Lopen's character being Death was actually less OP than before they became Death.
  12. I think that one might have been about the RWBY stuff? I don't think we really use Discworld anymore, I think that was only Lopen doing that, and given that he isn't active anymore it hasn't come up again. Other than that, Warhammer has been present for too long to just ditch (though I agree it can be weird/out of place at times). Ax's stuff is mostly really small stuff as far as I'm aware, just a new species, so that doesn't seem that bad to me since we've got a bunch of other homebrew species running around as well (Other side of the world).
  13. Yeah. I actually think it's standard policy for all abilities that can interfere with other characters without any response, or those that would be impossible to use because of the nature of the RP, like how Foretelling is 500 points.
  14. I know, which was why I added the caveat. The reason I talked about it was to explain what I think is the original reason behind the 800 points.
  15. So personal guess for the 800 points, it's because they can essentially possess anyone, including PCs. Possessing NPCs probably wouldn't be that much of an issue, but being able to control and take over PCs would make them extremely unbalanced. I think a caveat of not being able to possess PCs (without permission) could drive the point cost down a lot, though that's just my personal opinion.
  16. The knight moved in, swinging down its halberd. At the same time the sabretooth sprinted forwards, jumping at the leader. Aylitha herself hung back, ready to move in if she saw an opening. *** Aylitha walked along the streets, nearing the edge of the city, monsters walking around her. She looked at the crater, the monster inside of it. Nearing the edge of the crater herself she started looking around for Voidus and the Stranger.
  17. The grunt flew backwards, crashing into the roof. Aylitha watched the leader burn away the flesh. Pity, she thought. Guess they're learning. She focused. She need more, more matter, more power. For an instant she connected to her other self, sending a wordless request. She smiled at the answer. Dark moss and sludge grew around her feet, and from it creatures rose. A knight, 7 foot tall, inky black flesh covered in bone-white armor, holding a halberd. A large black-furred sabre-tooth, muscle visible beneath it's skin. A short spear grew from Aylitha's hands, and she and the creatures readied themselves, spreading out, circling around the leader.
  18. The blades easily hit the grunt, piercing through him and pushing him backwards. Shining black flesh grew around the wounds, growing along the knifes, keeping his body standing, and he stumbled forwards, trying to keep a grip on the Leader. Meanwhile Aylitha knelt down into a sprinter's position, a knife forming in her hand. She looked at the Leader, waiting for her chance.
  19. The grunt stood there, looking like it was watching her. Meanwhile Aylitha finished regenerating in the back, slowly standing up, swaying on her feet. Down below a loud crash echoed upwards as the grunt who fell off hit the ground.
  20. Just when Aylitha jumped someone grabbed her. Her mind sped up, time seeming to slow down. Who was it? Only one other soldier left, others should be dead. Are they? Is it a soldier? My flesh, close. Infected them. Must be the leader. She felt heat arising behind her. Fire, beam. She thought. On instinct she started reabsorbing her body, but she wasn't fast enough. The beam pierced through her chest, heating quickly eating away at the rest of her body. She dissolved from both her center as well as the ends of her body, flame at one side and absorption at the other. In less than a second all that laid in front of the leader was a large pile of ashes. Back where the corpse of one of the grunts laid the flower on their neck started blooming, growing into a new body. The grunt slowly stood up as well, moving clumsily, uncoordinated. While the Aylitha's body laid on the ground reforming the grunt rushed at the leader, barely managing to keep their balance. At the same time a different grunt slowly started standing up as well, spike still piercing their face.
  21. Aylitha felt the spike pierce through the soldier's face and let go, leaving it there. Even if the soldier wasn't dead yet they would be in seconds with the poison flowing out of the spike. They turned towards the remaining soldier, running at them. Just before the reached them she jumped up into the air, twisting into a horizontal spin. At the same time a long white glaive grew out of her hands, and she slammed it down towards the soldier's head, using her spin for extra momentum. @RayOfSunshine
