  1. Kelsier nodded. “Saze made things a bit easier. There was always an instinct to it though. I knew the moment I snapped.” Admittedly, he’d been snapped by Preservation directly, which might have had something to with it...
  2. Eryn nodded. “Do not wish to clean every day.” @Lecky Twig
  3. “There are easier ways to find out,” Kelsier noted, amused. He reached into a drawer and pulled out a plate with the sixteen metals embedded in it. “Run your hand over this and see which metals you feel a Connection with.” Roues, park the car and get back here. She turned up on the doorstep.
  4. Hi Cynical! Very cool!
  5. “We’re closer than you’d expect,” Kelsier explained, “but that’s still light years apart. And someone needs to be projecting radio waves before they can be received. ”You haven’t had a Shard long, from what I understand. It had only been there a few years when I last dealt with its avatar personally. That was... eight years ago, from your perspective. It’s 2020? 2021? Somewhen around there, right? “It gets complicated, because time doesn’t exist as such in the Spiritual Realm. It was centuries ago for me.”
  6. He shook his head, smiling mysteriously as he unlocked the door. “Not yet.” Grinning, he stepped inside the building, walking until he stood in the center of the mosaic on the floor. “Welcome to your new home.”
  7. Eryn nodded. “Not all dress same,” she explained. “Cotton light, for summer. Worsted is wool, warm, for winter. Satin dress for party. Silk for special party.”
  8. Kelsier smiled, gesturing toward the building as he left the car. “Here you go. Your home away from home, for as long as you’re on my planet.” Trésor followed him out, gathering up her basket of pastries. “Join us after you’ve parked,” she instructed Roues. ”No, don’t.” Kelsier countermanded her. “I’m going to need you to stay with the car for now, Roues. We may be getting another visitor.” With his bronze flaired he could hear the resonance of his world, a remnant of the few weeks when he was the world. Scadrial vibrated with the tones of Ruin and Preservation and something was causing those to shift. It wasn’t Trell or its parent Shard; he knew that one quite well. No, this was... Insight.
  9. The car wended it’s way through the crowded streets, Roues deftly avoiding coaches, pushcarts, and wild urchins. Twenty minutes later they crossed over a small bridge, parking in front of an unassuming building. Unassuming but for brickwork patterned in the shape of three-petaled Marewill.
  10. Eryn and the seamstress headed to the back. The seamstress knelt beside Zola and began making measurements. “So what are we getting?” “Four cotton dress - two brown, two blue” Eryn said. “Four worsted dress - two green, two lavender. Four worsted tunic, four oilcloth, four cotton - two in each color.” The seamstress nodded as Eryn continued. “Two oilcloth pants - charcoal. Four worsted, same color. Four cotton - brown. Blush will be short fancy dress. Silk will be gown.” The seamstress nodded, continuing her measurements. “I can have these altered by the end of the day. The tunics and trousers will take a day or two. The regular dresses will take about a week, not counting alterations. For the special ones I’ll need you to come back for fittings - especially the gown.” Eryn nodded. “Is good. You are good seamstress.” The woman blushed prettily. “Thank you! I try.”
  11. “Unless you’d prefer I measured you here?” The seamstress asked. “I thought you might prefer the back.”
  12. The seamstress quickly pinned the final dress. “I’m going to have to measure you now,” she told Zola. “So call me when you’re in your shift.” ”Will come too,” Eryn assured Zola. “Not leave alone.”
  13. Eryn shot her a confused look. “Will not take this one then.” She handed Zola the green dress, before adding a roll of clover blue to her pile.
  14. “Not like pink?” Eryn asked. “Do not have to wear if not like color.” She pulled a soft brown cotton off the shelf and added it to the pile of fabrics.
  15. Once everyone was settled, Roues began driving, the car moving down the bumpy, cobbled streets.
  16. The seamstress quickly pinned the dress, then handed Zola the pink to try.
  17. The seamstress took the blue dress and laid it neatly on her work table, before motioning again at the pedestal. Meanwhile, Eryn studied the rolls of fabric. She chose a charcoal oil cloth and another of soft blue. She then chose a roll of green worsted, another of lavender, and a third of charcoal. Finally she took a roll of blush satin, placing it next to the grey silk.
  18. “I think you’d look very sweet in the yellow,” the seamstress said, fingering her spear necklace. “Or the pink. The green is a bit dark for you.”
  19. “Stay still,” The seamstress warns, “and this will be done quickly.” She expertly pins the dress, then steps away nodding. “There we go. Now, which would you like to try next?”
  20. Eryn nodded happily. “Is nice. But too loose. Need fix.” The seamstress nodded. “It’s a sample dress, as I said. I’ll have to do some alterations, but it shouldn’t take long.” She smiled sweetly at Zola. “If you’ll just step on this pedestal I’ll start getting it to the right size.”
  21. The seamstress handed Zola the dress. “There’s a changing area in the back.” ”Will wait for you,” Eryn assured her, settling down.
  22. “Glad to hear it!” The seamstress said happily. She laid out four sample dresses on the counter. One was a pale cornflower blue, the second a soft pink, the third a rich green, and the fourth was a warm yellow. “Which would you like to try first?”
