  1. Have you watched the Magic School Bus? After Arnold says, “Please let this be a normal field trip,” Wanda says, “with the Frizz?” and then all the other kids say, “No way!” So I was basically continuing the intro. Continuing: Surging down Hearthstone, you’re relaxed and feeling good, next thing that you know you’re seeing - a Fused in the neighborhood?!
  2. TLM canNOT come fast enough.
  3. Thanks for the well wishes! I’m looking into it, but haven’t decided yet. For one thing ENTs are completely backed up for months, so I’m not even going to know if I’m eligible until the summer. If I’m eligible then I’ll have to determine if the risk of surgery is worth not having at least one sinus infection every year. Fortunately it’s not a risky surgery and has a fairly quick recovery. I probably could drink more. TPBM likes playing strategy/base building games on their phone.
  4. This is true. But I think he maintains a fairly direct control of things on Scadrial itself.
  5. I have chronic sinusitis and a history of fainting any time my blood pressure gets too low and I’m in a situation where it’s difficult to breathe. So essentially: wear the mask properly for a short period and I get a sinus infection. Wear it for an extended period (like ten minutes) and I pass out. Point out that the ADA says I need to be given reasonable accommodations and the CDC says people with my condition should only wear masks when indoors AND within six feet of someone else and I get ignored. (They may have changed this rec since I last read through the whole thing.) I guess I could sue all the stores in Brooklyn for failing to comply with the ADA, but that’s more trouble than it’s worth. On the other hand, I’m kind of annoyed that I’m now looking into getting surgery for my sinuses because of everyone’s non-compliance with the ADA. I shouldn’t need to get surgery because of the mask mandate so I can go grocery shopping. Yes, I’m exhausted. I was up all night watching my older daughter because her nurse was out and now I can’t sleep because my cleaning woman/baby sitter didn’t come to watch the younger one. TPBM really, really hates it when people you’ve hired do not show up when you really, really need them.
  6. Hoid, Mraize and Warbreaker were all guessed already.
  7. One of Kelsier’s very strict rules is that members of his crew don’t harm other members of his crew. (Which is what pinged me to certain things way back when.) This rule is strong enough that it stands on foreign planets. On Scadrial, where Kelsier actually is, that rule is definitely enforced. Not to mention that if you read the whole thing Brandon notes that members of Kelsier’s crews aren’t flunkies. Kell runs a very loose organization. The Set is too hierarchical for him. It’s too rigid. Crews run by Kelsier will be loosely structured pods with semi-autonomous agents, all of whom are fiercely loyal to him, the cause, and, by-and-large, each other. You will not have Telsin shooting a fellow crew member for a con. You will not have Suit’s casual disdain for the people working with him. You will have a loose master-apprentice type hierarchy. You will not have a strict hierarchy with everyone’s tasks and roles defined. You will have a specific goal that everyone is working toward, but that goal will not be control. Control is not a very Kelsier thing. Manipulation is. Challenging people, pushing them, is. But he doesn’t want to control Scadrial. He can do that any time he wants.
  8. Yes. TPBM hates masks because A: they give her hypoxia, b: they cause her to have repeated sinus infections that require antibiotics, and c: no one seems to understand the concept of invisible disabilities that mean some people cannot safely wear a mask. Totally unrelated but this is the fourth sinus infection I’ve had this year...
  9. These hints are seriously vague... Riino.
  10. She nodded. “Try storing the sensations as we pass through the city. Sight and sound, but also smell and taste. Try to avoid storing memories of touch.”
  11. With the Radiants?! No way!
  12. “There’s iron in the medallion. You can use that.”
  13. “It allows you to store your weight,” Kelsier explained. “We’ll need you to that once we start flying.”
  14. Yes, but considering I’m the Mistborn Tarot and DatS girl, who has also picked non-Rosharans 90% of the time, and doesn’t read SA more than once because Kaladin makes me suicidal, assuming I’m picking an SA character isn’t a great assumption. And the Wandersail guy had nothing to do with either Vivenna or Allik, neither of whom are from Roshar.
  15. Except for the ‘either Allik or Vivenna were close’ clue. I have no idea why everyone ran to Roshar though. I actually thought the clue about encountering a foreign civilization was specific to only a few characters. On the other hand “this character is a ruler” followed by “this character is an antagonist” was 100% intentionally misleading. And I have done that.
  16. Kelsier stepped lightly into the dirigible, followed by the Ghostbloods. Roues moved toward the prow, taking the helm.
  17. I can’t give you the word of Brandon here because it’s major RoW spoilers. I’ll pm it in a bit. There are actually two WoB: one says Trellium is from a Shard we know and that it isn’t Ruin, Preservation or Harmony. The other says the entity calling itself Trell is a Shard. Which also eliminates any avatars, because those aren’t Shards. However that question was worded really oddly and got a simple yes, so its accuracy is questionable. Either way, I still think the Kelsier meta-narrative and the Trell meta-narrative will converge and be resolved together. I’ll add that I don’t think he’s Trell, but I do think he’s involved. The Set is 100% NOT Kelsier’s. They’re very clearly not a crew he’d build. Kelsier talking to Lessie is fairly likely though.
  18. Well, I’m the person who gives very specific clues like ‘this person is a ruler’ and people still don’t get it. Vague clues are merely indicators of a lack of imagination. You can make very specific and very difficult clues with a little creative thinking. Mind you, I’ve been guilty of really bad clues myself. So this is experience talking. Sometimes you just get clue-block.
