  1. She smiled, and began measuring him as Kelsier climbed on to the second podium. “You’re all first years, right dearies? So you’ll want your basic Hogwarts robes...” The two women bustled about gathering fabrics. ”Maybe a few extra,” Kelsier suggested. “Something for every day and something nicer for holidays.”
  2. Kelsier raised a brow, leaning back slightly, lips twitching as he suppressed his own laughter. The irony of someone praying TO him that people would stop talking ABOUT him was... amusing to say the least. Eryn shook her head. “Not ghost anymore,” she noted. “Has body now. And you work for.”
  3. The Survivor smiled. “Not an uncommon reaction. Even for a ‘rusting psychopath’, which you aren’t. The first time you kill, even in self defense, isn’t easy for anyone.”
  4. Kelsier frowned at Ladashwi’s reaction. Lightly he tapped his brass, soothing her dismay and nausea. “You never killed anyone before, did you?” He asked, voice gentle.
  5. Eryn nodded. “Will give in private,” she told the Sovereign. He nodded. “Any idea which ones?” Eryn shook her head. “Three charged, but not certain what. Fourth Sage made: carries Feruchemy gold.” ”Not easy to take down a bloodmaker,” Kelsier told Sage. “Well done.”
  6. Kelsier chuckled lightly. “Sounds like a fun beginning.” ”Would know,” Eryn noted. “Were watching.” He shrugged. “You handled it. There was no reason for me to step in.”
  7. Eryn shrugged. “Overreact. Tried kill him. Foolish man was doing prank. Not worth killing. Stopped her. Fine now.”
  8. Eryn nodded. “Man reveal she have metal eyes. Make everyone upset.”
  9. Eryn nodded. “Had to fight Marie. Foolish man attack her.”
  10. Abruptly he smiled, his grin turning playful. “Good to know! And how are you enjoying working for him?”
  11. “And if she happened to escape you at that exact moment?”
  12. The Survivor tilted his head slightly scanning her, his smile suddenly dangerous. “I am. Tell me, what would Saze do if your stores were to suddenly vanish?”
  13. “Remember those Connections? The ones that make up you say you were born a little closer to the Preservation part of Harmony than most. That’s what makes you an Allomancer.”
  14. “You may,” Kelsier grinned, “but I’m not promising to answer.” He swiped a piece of bread along the bottom of Zola’s bowl, then popped it in his mouth.
  15. Kelsier blithely ignored the Sage’s mumblings. “Oh, we met earlier today. She was taking a nap at a bar.”
  16. He laughed, ruffling her hair. “I did come here to meet Drae. But then I saw Eryn had found you and I decided to meet you too. And I’m glad I did.”
  17. “That’s what Khriss calls it,” Kelsier confirmed, “and she’s usually a good reference.” Eryn smiled at Zola. “Are polite,” she noted. “But can talk to. Many things to talk of.” Kelsier nodded. “I’m here to meet you, Zola. This is your time. We may be thieves, but you don’t have to let Sage steal it.”
  18. “I am. But I doubt you want to listen to us ramble on about Realmatics all day, right?”
  19. The Survivor laughed. “There are sixteen. Although they aren’t perfectly opposing pairs. Ruin and Preservation were unusual for that. And we Scadrians are unusual for having our number match the Cosmere’s. And for other reasons too.” He snagged a piece of Zola’s cheese, grinning playfully at the girl. “We’re boring you, aren’t we?”
  20. “You actually do have enough to give an educated guess,” he noted. “So work things out - then tell us what you come up with.”
  21. The Survivor smirked. “Yes.”
  22. Kelsier smiled. “There are three there, though one is dead. And some call them gods, though having been one I’m not as inclined to agree. At least, the Vessels holding them aren’t. Pieces of a god might be more accurate, though how do you go about dividing infinity anyway?”
