What was her name again...

Not Kelsier, and not Hoid!
Let's give you another clue, since the first one was a bit too broad to be of much use.
Clues:
1. This character is portrayed as very secretive.
2. When we first met this character, she was mistaken for a man.

Oh hey, I won! Nice!
(The character's name is Catra, in case you were wondering.)
So, here goes with the first clue:
1. This character is portrayed as very secretive.

@AonEne From She-Ra and the Princesses of Power! Despite its apparent target audience, it's actually got a huge fanbase of young adults and people in their low 20s now as well. (It's also officially the gayest show on Netflix right now, which is already reason enough to watch it.)

I mean, Adolin's got to stay alive for that Kadolin endgame...

I'd prefer to keep characters alive if possible. I'm not a fan of death as a plot device just because.

I don't want Venli to die. I think it's an overdone character arc for someone who did a bad to "redeem" themselves by dying. It's cheap, too. It's far better that Venli survives and genuinely realizes her mistakes, genuinely regrets them and then concretely starts atoning for them by becoming a better person.

I think there's a difference between being true to your ideals and being downright foolish. Had Kaladin done something there, most likely nothing would have changed, save for his punishment being worse and probably him dying. When you know your efforts will most likely fail, living to fight another day is always the better option.
Besides, Dalinar said it himself, change won't come if all you do is demand it, it may sound wrong but you have to earn it. He may be right and all but him rebelling at the arena, in the eyes of everyone present would have looked like a child throwing a tantrum. it's far more efective (and far more satisfying) when you play smart and take the time to prove them wrong instead of just yelling it at their faces.
Yelling at peoples' faces is literally the most efficient way to get changes done, though. Nothing would have happened and Dalinar would never have doubted Amaram as early as he did without Kaladin doing something. He made a mistake jailing Kaladin, and I think that's something he owes him for. That Adolin chose to spend days in prison with Kaladin in protest says it all really.

Gavilar knew more than he let on, much more I think. He was clearly into some sort of occult rust. I hope that he'll be sort of redeemed posthumously and that he regretted everything, but right now I really don't like Gavilar. Dude was an cremhole.

I'm sorry, but "Character: Atheist" got a chuckle out of me
"Please hand me the salt," Jasnah said, atheistically.

There was also no way that all of the knights agreed with the plan in the first place, which means that some Shards were never abandoned to begin with (Skybreakers come to mind).
I actually wonder why the Skybreakers never tried to seize the known Shards by force, as they probably had the greatest claim to them and would have felt justified in doing so. Nale might have thought that their rightful place was in Shin, but if so knowing him he would've done anything in his power to make sure that all of the Shards ended up there.

Dalinar hid all of them in his toilet in Urithiru and then forgot about them.

Dalinar's big character arc across the whole series is essentially a gigantic redemption arc. He wants to become a better person, and he's made big strides towards that. But he still hasn't fully dealt with the Rathalas incident and the fallout from that. I think that's a big hurdle he still has to get through in the future. Maybe it'll have something to do with his fourth or fifth ideal.
