You get a mess of shattered glass, which you then reforge into a pair of fire-bringer's lenses. *inserts box of chalk*- 3759 replies

UPDATED: Fanart Submission: The Gallery Wants YOU!
Sunbird replied to KChan's topic in Creator's Corner
So the gallery is great...except for how there's no subsection for Reckoners fanart. Considering how popular that series is, don't you think that's a major oversight? My portrait of Obliteration has nowhere to belong. Do you think you staff people could rectify this? -
Thank you, but don't feel inadequate! We're just good at different types of art. You are much better at digital art than I am. Update: I drew another one. This is addicting!

I guess I'll just post this here for now... Large image

No one in Alcatraz is really "normal"... But you'll discover that the more you read.

So I drew some Reckoners fanart and would love to upload it to the gallery, but there's no category for the Reckoners unless you count the Steelheart Mega Vault Contest section. Since that seems to have been for a long-since-over contest and the General Art category won't let me upload anything to it, I'm at a loss as to where my drawing should go. I find it hard to believe I'm the first person who's ever wanted to do Reckoners art and share it here, outside of the contest.

Sunbird chuckles at everyone's jokes. "I've got one!" she says. "Why did Beethoven kill all his chickens? Because when he asked them who the best composer was, they all said, 'Bach Bach Bach!'"

Ok, so I drew Obliteration and scanned him into my computer, all excited to upload him to the gallery... only to find that there's not a category for Reckoners art, and the "General Art" category will not let me upload to it. Halp!

Sunbird grins at Nashan's list of adjectives and applauds softly when he finishes. "Sounds you are like me--you like wordplay, am I right?" she asks. "I know some puns so awful they're good."

Next up on my list is book 2 in a series by James C Riley called Story Thieves about two kids who have adventures jumping in and out of books, which they can do because one of them is half fictional. It's geared toward a middle-grade audience, but the first book was funny and clever and surprising in all the right ways, so I'm eager to dive into the second one.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When the high point of your day is discovering that somebody else posted in the Sanderson Memes thread so you can post more of your memes without triple posting. -
AHA! Somebody posted so I can post more memes without triple posting! =D Time for some puns.

That's great! This is what happens when nobody posts in the Sanderson Memes thread and I'm afraid to double post again...

Sunbird listens to Kynedath's speech, a small smile on her face. "Oh, what an eloquent speech!" she exclaims. "Now who's lost the awkward touch?" Turning to Nashan, she grasps his hand and shakes it vigorously. "Welcome!" she says. "We're glad to have you!"

I plowed through all of Calamity today... Have to say, I'm very pleased. I felt like it was a suitably awesome ending to one of my favorite series.

I didn't ask any questions nearly as deep as little wilson's, but here is my report: Q: If an Epic gifts their powers to someone, is that person then vulnerable to the Epic's weakness? A: Yes, but to a lesser extent. (And this is shown/explained in Calamity, which I finished reading today, so not an earth-shattering revelation.)

When the only person you're interested in dating is someone you don't really know except that you've seen and talked to them at several of Brandon's signings. XD -
Welcome, Mr Steez! If you're looking for crazy, you're in the right place. (I've heard the Reckoners RPG is especially off-the-wall, though I haven't dared to venture in there myself yet.) A word of warning: if anyone offers you a "cookie," think carefully before taking it. Around here a "cookie" is usually actually a hemalurgic spike.

You get an upvote for joining and for inventing a cool word! You're in for a real treat with both Alcatraz and Calamity. Alcatraz makes me laugh like a complete lunatic, and I just finished reading Calamity tonight and can't stop smiling about it. A meme to express my feelings about Calamity:

Here, have your first upvote! Welcome to the forums, where I think you will find absolutely nobody who will disagree when you say that Brandon Sanderson is truly excellent. Random side note: is your username, by any chance, a reference to the air date of the very first episode of Doctor Who?
-
Ah, ok. I'm not familiar with Golden Sun at all. Pardon my ignorance! As for Alcatraz and the Rithmatist, they may not be Cosmere, but they're still storming awesome. Alcatraz makes me laugh like a total loon. And the cookies--no, you don't eat them. A resident of the Dark Alley has to impale you with one.
