    DAY FIVE --- "What... kind of security breach." Reka asks. "They got into my assistant's computer, at least," Kimrick explains. "Probably more. No time, they're destroying evidence, we've got to--" The lights go out. "Well, that's not good." Clutching the drive tightly, Kimrick races through darkened halls. He shoves his way past other officers, clambers over a cart someone abandoned in the middle of the hall... He can hear Reka running behind, struggling to keep up. Have to get the drive to someone... He rounds a sharp turn. His only warning is a blinking light and a beeping sound before the turret lets loose. For a moment the dark room is lit up before a hail of red blaster bolts hits Kimrick. Reka rounds the corner and yells something and starts firing back at the turret. The firefight only lasts a few seconds, but Kimrick is riddled with blaster burns by the end. He leans against the wall for support. Reka curses. "Can you walk? We're gonna get you to medical." "I don't get it, though," she continues. "Why'd the turret target you?" "They're destroying the evidence," Kimrick repeats. The breach is worse than he thought, if they can pull off stunts like this... "To medical, then." He agrees. "But, in case I don't make it, let me tell you exactly where to take that drive..." --- Time to get fired, Lotus thinks grimly. He steps into the office. "Agent Lotus," the director welcomes him briskly. "Your performance view has come up. Let's not dally." Lotus can see the writing on the wall. The Rebels haven't been stopped yet, there was a recent security breach, and another dead officer. Someone needs to take the fall for it. Lotus can see the decision is already made, no matter what he says here. He sighs. "I won't waste more of your time. I resign." The director seems taken aback for a moment. "Just like that?" "Just like that." The director nods. "Very well." He gestures at a pair of storm troopers to take Lotus away. "You're discharged from the ISB headquarters on Coruscant. That said, you know too many imperial secrets to just walk away, you understand. You'll be reassigned somewhere... out of the way." --- @IHadAThought has been voted out from the ISB! He was a member of the ISB Tactical Unit. @Furamirionind has been murdered by a hijacked laser turret! They were an ISB Surveillance Officer. -ACE- has left the game.     There isn't really an official filter in these rules but yeah it's on my radar I messaged ACE at rollover and he recently requested to drop out ThatOneWorldhopper has been active a little more recently than ACE but didn't post in the thread on Day 3 and hopefully will speak up a little today I'm not sure that there's a pinch-hitter lined up to step in (what's the world coming to when the backups need backups /lh) but I can ask around. Failing that people who can't continue playing will be taken out of the game, maybe with some sort of small consolation benefit assigned to the team who lost a member.

    DAY FOUR --- Zeke Slane looks furiously around the balcony for an escape route. There is none. On one side, a dizzying fall of at least twenty stories. On the other, a sea of faceless helmets glaring back. An ISB strike team here to collect him. It was a near thing, perhaps, but he's run out of luck. Had they traced back his intrusions into their files? Did he confide in the wrong people? Did any of it matter? No. He pushes down the thought. He knew the risks when he started down this road. And he'd do it again. Just to bloody the empire a little bit. Even nicks and bruises add up. "You got me," he admits, meeting the eyes of the one leading the force. An ISB Supervisor, here in person to take him in. Exposing yourself like this was a mistake, he thinks. One I'll make you pay for. He charges the leader. Of course, they start firing. Blaster bolts hit him again and again. By the time he reaches the Supervisor, it's sheer momentum carrying him along. But it's enough for one last revenge. They both go over the edge. --- @Divergent has been executed for treason! He was a Rebel Tech. @CoderDrag0n8 has been assassinated! He was the ISB Supervisor. Rules Errata: Death comes at the end.     DAY THREE --- TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: All hands on deck. There has been an incident on Aldhani with probable rebel involvement. Aldhani was formerly the responsibility of the Imperial Navy to manage, but the Bureau has been assigned damage control. So, we monitor and control the spread of information on the event. Remember that without something to organize around, there is no rebellion. Additionally, certain factors of the recent event seem to have required insider information. Some of you will be assigned additional cases this quarter to thoroughly audit all of the personnel involved. On a different note, Agent Unknown has been reassigned to an undisclosed location. I'm afraid the metaphor of a dark forest does not quite suit the methods of the Bureau. It is precisely our job to shed light on the secret places and drive off all the shadows. Fortunately, there are many ways of serving the empire, and we have found a different one perhaps more fitting for Agent Unknown. That is all. --- Garthyl Karn elbows his way through a crowded square, then ducks into a cramped alley. He's already sent word ahead to schedule a meeting with somebody higher up the chain of command, but was intentionally sparse on the details. This has to be delivered in person. The HoloNet isn't secure. The intercepted transmission, the delayed shipment, it all makes sense now. A smoking gun. Proof at last. Organized rebellion under everyone's noses, with plants in the ISB itself. He's rehearsing what he'll say as he hurries out the other end of the alley, picturing the commendations and promotions he'll earn when all of this is done. He's not looking where he's going, and certainly not looking up. The falling crate kills him instantly. A terrible accident, the HoloNet news reports later that day. Negligent repairs and a rushed job of unloading a delayed shipment lead to an unfortunate chain of failures, resulting in the tragic death of a promising member of the Imperial Security Bureau. That's the official story the ISB feeds to the public, but it's certainly not the one they believe. Security measures are quietly tightened on Coruscant. --- @The Unknown Hammerer has been sent to Narkina 5! He was an ISB Analyst. @Experience has died in a suspicious accident! He was an ISB Tech.     DAY TWO --- "Am I boring you, Lieutenant Kreen?" The director raises an eyebrow. Kreen slumps in his seat and begins to snore audibly. The director is at a loss for words. "I see. I have made an error. Perhaps you are not cut out for the rigors of work in the Bureau." Smelling blood in the water, Kreen's subordinates chime in to agree. "He's obsessed with these strange pieces of metal," Zeke spoke up. "It's becoming a concern." "He was mentioned in a very suspicious transmission I recently intercepted," officer Kuplack reported. "Near Alderaan." "The incidence of crime on Plexis has increased by 12% in the last quarter under Lieutenant Kreen's supervision," Garthyl Karn added. "Also, his reports on the Atravis sector are still missing." The director sighs and pinches his temples. "Very well," he says briskly. "I want Lieutenant Kreen escorted off the premises for reassignment on Narkina 5. You three will take over his assigned sectors effective immediately. Dismissed." There's little point in having a Supervisor whose subordinates are so intent on seeing him gone. There are always others to take on the position of Supervisor, and if nothing else the competition helps the Bureau keep its edge. He wonders if the upper echelons of the rebellion experience this degree of infighting. --- Kal struggles desperately to wrest the blaster from his assailant's grasp. He swings a wild punch that glances off his adversary's face. He didn't get a good glimpse of their face. The attacker headbutts him and he sees stars, and then he freezes as the blaster muzzle is leveled between his eyes. "Die imperial scum," they say. A flash of light and searing pain, then the world fades to back. "I'm on your side..." Kal thinks before slipping away. --- @KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren has been voted out of the ISB! He was the ISB Supervisor. @STINK has been killed by the Rebels! He was a Rebel in the Tech department.     I did actually run computer simulations to help get the elim numbers right, otherwise I might've had the game up half an hour sooner sorry for being too much of a nerd for my own good

    different GMs do it differently but I generally roll 3 completely random distros and pick 1 if I have no strong feelings about one of them being better then I default to going with the first one I rolled 'how much randomness vs GM meddling should there actually be' is a whole can of worms we could talk about and I don't really know the answer to that, but if the question is just how do I do it then there you go

    sorry about the delay, I always underestimate the work it takes to get these things off the ground should be more smooth sailing from here on out though, this is relatively speaking a simple game and a good half of the preparation was just me second-guessing what a good distribution of roles and players would be on each team

    Alright, signups are now closed. I always forget to leave a bit of time between signups closing and the game starting to set everything up. Not that I haven't already done some of that. Please hold while I finalize everything, the game will start soon
