  1. Unlikely - thats a function of the Knights Radiant and how Honor's oath-based perception interacts with Realmatic Nahel Bonds. At it's Core, a Nahel bond is a Bond in the Spiritual Realm - Spiritweb to Spiritweb. On Roshar it's the bond of realmatic transition - and Dusk sees some of that as well, since Sak can show him Electrum Shadows from accessing Fortune (implied) - Bonds discussed more here Called rare in IED? If not, what source are you referencing? It was implied that Aetherbound (including TwinSoul) use a Luhel Bond - though that would not preclude having a Bond on more than one level. Note: IED Ch 37: This implies that the worms bond with the Spren Butterflies Dusk saw in Drominid's Shadesmar - and the bond transfers through the food chain (worm > Bird who can bond a person). This would also imply that the base starting bond is more like a Greatshell and their Madra, than like a Radiant and their Spren. There are similarities in how Rhyshadium gain near-sapience from their MusicSpren bond and how the Aviar also are near-sapient both by gaining the bond after ingesting the worms and in how they understand their bonded Person. Hope that helps
  2. Please see: Guidance posted there is: Hope that helps
  3. That's the term from WaT: Elsegate is the term for using the Surge of Transportation to create a stable doorway between PR/CR locations others can use. Elantris Spoilers Hope that helps
  4. Riino didn't show Kaladin any painting, only the Connection orb from which Kaladin's vision is facilitated. The Nathian Painting was in the market at Celebrant and is not confirmed to have come from Lightsong's court. OB Ch 102: WoBs (Warbreaker Spoilers): Hope that helps
  5. Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. Here are WoBs explaining that: On the Coppermind, simply search <book title>/Interior Art (e. g. Elantris (book)/Interior art) and the page will have all official artwork, but no spoiler text other than the name of the image. As shown, disambiguation may be needed when a book title is also an in-world term. Hope that helps
  6. That is not correct. "Emberdark" has a meaning That meaning is referenced in the map you discuss (Oathbringer Ch 88 interior art - here): That meaning is finally defined in the new book, but the location of IED is not connected to the Oathbringer image. Hope that helps
  7. Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. No, the amount of BioChromatic Breath isn't what is affecting her Royal Locks. You should have seen the opposite effect in Siri, as she became more comfortable and practiced, she gained more and more control of her Locks. It's about stability and emotional self control and the reversal between the sisters and how they control their Locks (or fail to do so) is part of the book's theme. Sanderson explains it in the free Annotations to Warbreaker: Hope that helps.
  8. But they also appear on all of the Pantheon Islands, so these abilities cannot only be limited to beings encountering the worms at/from the Perpendicularity. More likely, the worms are what allow such abilities to be shared with a Bond, but native Pantheon Life normally has some level of Cognitive Awareness.
  9. Keep in mind this is the Stormlight Forum, please note and spoiler tag anything referrenced off-Roshar. Spoilers for Mistborn Era 2: Hope that helps
  10. If a foreigner had children with a Teod or Arelish person, that child would have Aonic descent and could be taken by the Shaod. Yes. Elantris Excerpts: It is less about modern politial geographic boundaries than the land and ties to the region. For example, Hrovell has been a part of the Fjordell Empire for a long time, but Forton still accesses the Dor through the native Hrovelli alchemy MoI. WoB: Hope that helps.
  11. The links appear to be the same for me. The other one was posted here - Excerpt: If one of those links should be different, then I apologize. I don't mind completing it twice, if that helps.
  12. Each lashing takes time: - It's not one lashing at value 300 - it would have to be 300 individual lashings with each one being more difficult and using more Stormlight I do not think anybody alive would be able to hold an object or person in-place even after Lashing 10, much less up to lashing 300. Szeth likely only got to lashing 5 in WoK because it was a balcony and couldn't accelerate away until the broke off of the building.
  13. Affirm, Werewolf the Apocalypse - one of the three Core of the Old World of Darkness - now in the 20th anniversary edition. Drive Thru RPG often has sales, and also has the original 90s version (or did last I checked) on the cheap (especially since they are PDF scans of physical books, so lower quality - but enough to learn if you like the setting). You could also check out some of the novels based on WtA for a story-way to explore the setting. The other two Core WoD games were Vampire the Masquerade (VtM) and Mage the Awakening (MtA) - though there were many other smaller game settings (Mummy, Changeling, Wraith, Hunter, Demon, etc.) In my 90s playgroup, the Storyteller for VtM played WtA and MtA; I was Storyteller for WtA and played the other games, etc. (So no one person had to run all of the games)
  14. WtA Game, circa 1995 The Pack's Fianna Theurge shifts to Hispo to track the Wyrmling that was testing the boundaries of the Sept's territory Reasoning to be in a fighting form when they catch-up to the beast, despite not having the Lupus form bonus to scent tracking Prompty botches the Perception+Primal Urge check For those unfamiliar:
  15. All fused, not just Heavenly Ones have an Active and a Passive use of their Surge. The Passive use does not consume Stormlight, while the Active use does. For Heavenly Ones, this means that lashing themselves is Passive, while lashing objects or other people is Active. We do not know how that would interact with F-Iron, because it is possible that "investiture interfers with investiture" may apply and cause lashing themselves to become an active Lashing while also tapping Iron. I have not been able to find a WoB about Feruchemy interacting with Surges (Human, Singer or Fused), but here's the WoB about Active and Passive Surges: Hope that helps
  16. Not necessarily, as shown in WoR I-9 he has had ample time to learn and memorize the policies of all Roshar's nations. He basically weaponized bureaucracy. We don't know what action he would have taken. We can guess it would have to do with mobilizing the other Vorin Nations to finding Gavilar guilty of breaking Vorin law, and therefore open to international action to remove him from his position - but that is just deductive speculation. I don't think he was referencing Ulim in this quote though, it was about whatever happened at his meeting with Gavilar that we did not see (when Eshonai saw them depart in the Oathbringer Prologue): It's not stated directly, but it's implied that Moash sees himself as a mirror to Kaladin - forever lesser and in his shadow. He would not admit it to himself, but he wants to beat Kaladin - so he lies to himself saying it is a mercy to see him dead (rather than just his ego). We don't even know how much of that is true, since he was still under-cover at that point - it could be entirely false, or just a bending of truth (if referencing Arclomedarian or the traitor swarms - substituting "I" for "we") Later in that chapter - Dawnshard Ch 6: If there was one specific Sleepless that betrayed him, we do not know who or how. This was explained earlier in RoW - Ch 54: Why does making a deal with Odium mean you're no longer protected. This is from Taravangian and Sja-anat's conversation and was does Sja-anat even come to him These two excerpts seem to contradict each other and who is bound in this deal Rayse or the shard and if it's Rayse does Taravangian and any new Shard have to obey this agreement Something we don't know the full details of prevents Shards from directly taking action against mortals unless there is a specific Connection that allows such action (such as Taravangian's or Moash's deal with Odium - otherwise Odium could have just killed Kaladin or Dalinar even before they were bonded Radiants. Wit does not have that protection, likely because of his roll in the Shattering. Deals are another kind of Oath, they Connect the person to the Shard and allow influence (good and bad) that would notmally be prohibited (or possible, but would open the Shard to attacks by other Shards by breaking that prohibition). Rayse partially explains it in Ch 112: I think I got them all. Hope that helps.
  17. More specifically, it was explained in Ch 33: Hope that helps.
  18. Is it different from the one on Patreon? Do I get to do it twice? Policies do not show as being updated (no edit tag, dates show as/of 7 Apr 2020 Consider manually adding to the first post the current as/of date (please see 1 below) Since these policies can be quoted elsewhere in the forums, it helps determine if a quoted section is older policy than the current policy General Policies, General Section How to remediate if you accidentally created a second account Post in Forum or Tech section, or whatever the preferred self-reporting remediation method is General Policies, Spam Section Link to the "how to report spam" thread for people that do not yet know to use the report tool (once only per bot username) and to inform them not to reply or quote spam posts. Hope that helps.
  19. More precisely, the Secret Project policy can be found here. But those were a different situation because the commercial release was only three months after the Backer release. I believe the timing for SP5 is significantly longer, so the Admins are probably dicussing this already. Just in case, I've reported the question so it gets noticed.
  20. Possible, but unlikely. WoB: We've also seen Midnight Essence in the Nightmares of Komashi (YNP). Just as it is unlikely that Father Machine has anything to do with the Primal Midnight, the WoB implies that Re-Shapir is corrupted <something> that, after being Unmade became Roshar's version of Midnight Essence. To find her source, we would need to discover what Magic would become Midnight Essence when it has been corrupted. . .
  21. Exactly, living armor can create the hoses - but the only reason to need the hoses is for pressure and breathable air - and the description specifically calls out "airtight." That, to me, seems like the kind of detail Sanderson does not use without cause - hence, and implication that a fabrial* is providing air to the Skybreaker's Shardplate. Note: I am using Fabrial in the Era 4 sense - which may or may not be based on Rosharan Gemstone/Spren Fabrials. It could just be a version of using Zephyr Aether or something else.
  22. Bondsmiths do not generally have Shardblades - they might have Plate (Their plate spren are believed to be Gloryspren) but that is not canon or confirmed. Card Image revealing the information: WoBs: It is also theorized that each Bondsmith would have different Platespren, in which case if Gloryspren were Bondsmith Platespren - it may only be for Stormfather's Bondsmith, and the other two would have different platespren. Hope that helps.
  23. It was implied the Pressure and breathing air was a Fabrial, not a Surge. IED Ch 7: Hope that helps.
  24. I doubt a single Sleepless could have nodes on multiple planets. WoB:
  25. That Elsecalling was Bondsmith-powered - but it beings up another point. The Ire were widespread long before RoW, and AonDor is more than capabale of Elsecalling (Aon Tia). So there are at least a few other options. Elsecalling is a Realmatic Constant that can be accomplished by multiple MoIs, so AonDor and Surgebinding are unlikely to be the only two possibilities (and we know Elsecalling can move between Shadesmar and the PR without a Shardic Perpendicularity). In fact, there is no guarantee that SA era Aviar moved though Patji at all - implied but not conclusive.
