Nightblood Is Changing: Surges and Self-Control
Treamayne replied to Wits instant noodles's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Keep in mind that, until RoW, one of the main reasons why Nightblood's Sapience regresses while drawn is because of how the Animating Breaths interact with the Command. Warbreaker Annotations to Ch 58: So, in theory, Nightblood is becoming suffiently invested to retain Sapience while the Command-Driven Breaths are diverted to creating the powers. To me, this implies more mind and memory to control how Nightblood acts while drawn (including the ability to stop drawing on the wielder). -
The Metallic Arts and Their Relation to The Shards
Treamayne replied to The_Last_OneLeft's topic in Mistborn
Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. @Trusk'our gave a good overview. To be more specific all three systems are linked to both Preservation and Ruin (See WoBs below) - but they are weighted: Allomancy is "of Preservation" and burning metals draws directly on Preservation's investiture to power the ability The metal just makes the link into the spiritual realm and determines what effect happens Hemalurgy is "of Ruin" because abilitiy is lost when a power is stolen (the spike will grant a less-powerful version of the ability stolen) and the spike loses additional power being stored outside of a living body or in blood. Hemalurgy also damages the spiked person's Spiritweb Ferchumy is considered to be "of both" because it preserves traits for use at a later time, but it also loses investiture if that trait is tapped faster than it was stored. Compressed traits consume part of the stored trait in order to compress more power in less time Some of this is because descriptions are "in-world" and therefore subject to unreliable narrator and incomplete understanding. WoBs: Hope that helps -
What makes you think they are "Tanavastium-Koravellium alloy"? The WoB can just as easily mean that "Investiture in solid metallic form" and does not necessarily mean your interpretation. Windspren, for example, pre-date the Shattering (and therefore Honor or Cultivation even being on Roshar). All investiture is assigned to a Shard at the Shattering, but they could be a mix of 3+ other investitures, you could be right and they are a similar alloy, they could be anything - we don't have enough data. All we really know for certain is that it is not a Sapient Splinter in Solid Physical Matter form like a Shardblade. Anything beyond that is a theory - possible but not confirmed. All investiture may belong to one or more Shards, but not all investiture are Splinters - and that was my point. Hope that helps.

Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. Correct, it has not yet been revealed. Feruchemy Table The Sharder FAQ (linked above) inludes tips for searching the Forums. Some theory threads include: Lerasium Shenanigans GodMetal Feruchemy Theory on Magic and GodMetals Harmonium and Excisors God Metal Lerasium There are more, but that was what I found on the first page of a quick search. Feel free to start a topic discussion (consider using the Discuss tag) in the Mistborn or Cosmere Discussion section if you want to discuss possible theories. Hope that helps.

Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. Both assumptions here are not correct. Shardblades are an Alloy of Godmetals from Honor and Cultivation. Shard Plate is solid physical investiture of Plate Spren pulled into the Physical Realm - but normal spren are not Splinters like the sapient True Spren are - so it is metallic investiture, but not a GodMetal. WoBs: Hope that helps

We do not have hard numbers yet, but there are other factors than just the metal quantity as well (efficiency, experience, etc.). These are the WoBs I could find, based on current data: Hope that helps

You could just put it in a spoiler tag. . . The Alethi glyph for honor is merem, but we don't know what it looks like. You could potentially use the glyph for Stormlight But, Alethi "Merem" isnt (capital-H) Honor - just the human trait (and part of Amaram's name). Your instict for Stormlight is probably better. From the RoW Interior Art: Note that the phonemes for the glyph are Tanavast's Name in Alethi. If you want to postulate a version with "do" (the "light" portion of the glyph - as per Adolin's name "Born unto Light"), then you could consult the (old) thread where we worked to decode the Glyphs and Women's Script. Hope that helps.

I do not mind at all. Feel free to post here or PM if you have any specific questions.

Ookla Season is summarized, with references, in the SHARDER FAQ. Another possible community reference to check out (also linked in the FAQ) is the history of Reputation and Titles. Years ago, there used to be "negative rep" or downvotes and it included Reputation-based titles for people with a negative cumulative score - but those were removed. So, the evolution of the original Rep system to the new System (positive and negative) to Positive-only - and the various threads on why we have a Rep limit per period (24 hours, not aligned to any specific time-zone's day change) and also how various "neighborhoods" in the 17th Shard Community view the giving of a Rep (Reactions/Upvote) can provide another axis on how relationships form and maintain themselves on this forum.

Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. Without repeating the above excellent recommendations, I would also note the "Reactions" threads for new book releases (and how fans relate their initial reading experience) Older Example - since we don't know what you have or have not yet read: Shadows of Self Reactions (should be easy to search "Reactions" in the thread titles in the Cosmere section for books no longer in their Spoiler Period). Also consider the "What are you <blank>ing" threads in Entertainment for sharing non-Sanderson information in the community Example: What are you Reading?

The "scale" of amount of invested-ness

The "scale" of amount of invested-ness

True, should have referenced Vivenna instead - though the point of regular breaths compared to Only a divine breath stands. It's what I get for posting tired -
The "scale" of amount of invested-ness
Treamayne replied to bbQchickennn's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter - you mention it here, but as you post people won't look for that information in a random post). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. You've posted this to the Arcanum Section, which is for discussion of the Coppermind Arcanum (the site for indexing Words of Brandon (WoB)). The topic belongs in Cosmere Discussion (the section for discussing two or more Shardworlds). The main forum page has these descriptions right next to the name: I've reported the post so that it can be moved for you (but you can also request a Mod to move a post using the "Report" tool in the three-dot menu located at the top-right of the post). Please see the Sharder FAQ for more detail. Invested, in these cases, are referring to different things. For example, a Mistborn is invested to about the same amount as a Radiant (both magics are End-Positive, and the Investiture is coming from an outside source - Metal and Light respectively). Whereas Vasher is highly invested in Warbreaker because of the breaths he holds, but Lightsong is more invested - despite only having a Single Divine Breath, that breath is much stronger than normal BioChromatic Breath. An Elantrian is more invested - but that is because they are constantly Connected to the Dor (which is why they glow faintly in darkness and why they can survive without food - because the Dor sustains them). So, "Invested" could mean the investiture being held in one of the realms (Physical like Breath, Cognitive like Dor, Spirtual like Divine Breath/Nahel Bonds), it could mean the amount of change to a character's Spiritweb (A Misting is more invested than a normal Skaa - since their Spiritweb has the extra bit that allows them to burn metals). Invested could also be a temporary change in one of the realms due to applied investiture (like Soulstamps). Without knowing the specific chapter and quote you are referencing, I'm afraid I cannot be more concrete in the answer that applies to your reference in Sunlit Man. Hope that helps -
Unite them... and the ending of Stormlight
Treamayne replied to discord=more_preservation's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The events of the Hoid Epilogue likely take place during Alloy of Law - The interviewer mentions the Coachman had just driven off of a cliff (which was the event that drew Wax back from the Roughs) - and Hoid has been hired and is working before the start of SoS I doubt retribution had anything to do with Autonomy's ploy on Scadrial - Kelsier alludes to the conflict when talking with Shallan and Felt in WaT Ch 147. Hope that helps -
What Are Your Oppinions on Raoden?
Treamayne replied to Honor is Wayne's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Raoden was never meant to be a primary character in any sequels - he may or may not get a Cameo though. WoBs: Hope that helps -
This Thread may help - not sure how it applies to Blogs though.

How Do the Basic Metals on Scadrial Replenish?
Treamayne replied to dstokes7's question in Cosmere Q&A
We have one WoB on this topic, but it's not conclusive: He only specifically mentions the Atium Cycle - but Brandon implies that all metals Burned Allomantically are returned to Scadrial by Investiture reforming the metal in the planet. Hope that helps -
Would Shardplate Ornamentations Remain Behind When Dismissed?
Treamayne replied to dstokes7's question in Cosmere Q&A
Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. We do not know yet, and I cannot find any WoBs on this topic yet. That said, it may depend on how long the ornamentation has been there and if the Identity of the Plate now views it as part of the Plate. Also, in theory, the now-reponsive plate should be able to adjust form to mimic the ornamentation even if it does fall off (though the Color is likely tied to the type of plate-spren that comprise the armor). Hope that helps -
You can edit a post by clicking "Edit" in the 3-dot (hamburger) menu on the top right of a post. You can also hide the double post once you have edited the first post to add your new information - also with the 3-dot menu You can add a WoB by clicking on the Copy Icon on the top-right of the Arcanum post (which copies the entire WoB and link to your device clipboard so it can be Pasted anywhere) Please see the Sharder FAQ for more detailed information. WoB Example: Hope that helps

That's the problem with Cross-IP speculation (as described here). Then it would come down to where this takes place - in Middle Earth, Kaladin would have no defense. In the Cosmere, any sufficiently invested being would have an inherent defense, so the One Ring would be a bit like Nightblood's suicide Bond - able to negatively influence most normal people, but having little affect on most Invested beings. Quoted from the Jedi VS thread:

u know (spoilers tlm) Kansas' comment was about Lopen, because it was noted that a factor in more people prefering Wayne was:
