  1. We're watching Bleach. We saw over half of the first season of the Bount arc, then skipped it to season 6 and read summaries. Now we're on episode 128 or something like that. It's good again.
  2. He asks me to do and say all kinds of stuff.
  3. Twitter and Reddit are relaxing to Brandon. He can answer easy questions quickly. And on Reddit he posts quite a number of things in threads about people wanting to be writers or getting into self-publishing ebooks. Brandon is interested in furthering the growth of the field (he teaches that creative writing class and does the podcast, you know). The kinds of discussions you get into here are beyond what he wants to tackle in short snippets of time, and the depth you get into is daunting. When Brandon reads long threads like some you have here he wants to participate...which would be bad on multiple levels. So he feels it's better to just stay away. But I do read the forums and pass on to him anything I think he should be aware of.
  4. I'm just going to say that five is not the answer. Could be more, could be fewer.
  5. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  6. Um. I think Brandon miscounted.
  7. We had a great time in Cowboys & Aliens. This movie looks fun. I had no idea it existed, and now I'm looking forward to it.
  8. The outdoor shot had a bunch of green plants. What was the clip of the girl throwing discs at the camera from? I thought this was pretty cool.
  9. Ha! No, the saltwater/freshwater thing doesn't carry over.
  10. Silence Divine hasn't been written. Best way to get White Sand or Aether of Night is to email Brandon through the web interface and ask.
  11. Please don't post on this thread if you want to win. Post on the front page.
  12. I'm playing Eenies at War. I usually play a plant.
  13. Wow, I didn't know Taravangian was that hard to spell. Or are you just using random 4–6-syllable words starting with T and throwing in a g, v, and n or possibly m? It could be a repeating joke, like the pterodactyl in Alcatraz.
  14. Zas is obviously an ardent.
  15. Ben also did the broadsheet illustrations in Alloy of Law, and the layout mockup, and wrote some of the text. And all the illustrations in the RPG book too, of course.
  16. The glyphs are constructed a completely different way.
  17. Those quotes from the book and Brandon are consistent with each other, with no retconning involved. When the short story starts, he's already with Gemmel.
  18. The rear endsheets are supposed to be parts of a stained-glass window somewhere.
  19. I stand by my statement in Reply #942 in that thread. Anyway, that Wikipedia article isn't wrong, you're just reading it wrong. It doesn't say a prophet is the Word of God. It says prophecy is the Word of God. Big difference. You can say the Bible is the Word of God (and LDS also believe the Book of Mormon is the Word of God). Jesus Christ himself is also known as the Word. I am neither, so it's not an appropriate usage. But as has been said, that's off-topic.
  20. Brandon wrote it by hand on the paper during the final proofreading stage, and the production department typed it in wrong. (Or had trouble with his handwriting.)
  21. Ferrings. It only appears in the Ars Arcanum.
  22. PDF is not an ideal form for reading ebooks. I would get the ePub version from Smashwords and then use a desktop ePub reader on your computer, such as the Nook application or Adobe Digital Editions. ePub makes a convenient format for reflowing text, adjusting the size for comfortable reading, etc. PDF is a static format. I personally read ebooks on my iPad or my iPhone using Stanza. But the desktop version of Stanza is, I think, not that great (though I haven't tried it recently). You could try Stanza on your computer too though. There are a bunch of different programs to read ePub books on the computer; try a few and pick the one you like best.
  23. I felt that Marci was a great person but that she didn't really know who John was. And thus we don't really know how she compares unless we can see her reaction to who John really is. Though it's been a couple years since I read the book so I could be remembering incorrectly.
  24. I read 58 by my count (includes things where I only read the first book of a listed series, or put a book down from distaste).
