  1. 4 and 16: 4) I don't think Nightblood is twisting his Command. He just can't understand it. If you gave a clearer Command, another Type IV would probably not have some of Nightblood's issues. 16) given that Vin, as Preservation, gifts Elend fuel for Allomancy, logically a Shard could deny it too
  2. I think they are still technically possible. They were already rare 300 years ago (having become more rare every generation over 1000 years since the first ones were made, and 300 is a significant extension on that weakening process), and as has been mentioned above, most of their bloodlines were taken out in the original trilogy. I also agree that Saze has likely made them rarer to go with the increase in Mistings and Ferrings we have seen. But I don't think they are impossible. I think we will see another true Mistborn this era or next and they will be a gamebreaker and thus likely a bad guy. The spiritual and genetic circumstances needed to become one are just a lot rarer now.
  3. Or, I know I've picked him as TLR, but Tom Hiddlestone works with Blonde hair and could play Kelsier... And actually he and Daniel Craig are facially similar enough that Craig could play his older, more rugged, less happy brother and be an awesome Marsh...
  4. Let's be honest here: he didn't need anything outside of himself to have a crushing advantage!
  5. More than 16, I think Varangian, on 27 Apr 2016 - 3:23 PM, said: Is it just me or would an atium+steel twinborn be extremely OP? Yes. Yes it would, assuming you mean F Steel and A Atium
  6. Kafka on the Shore was excellent, really excellent. No idea what to go to next though I'm on nights and courses etc soon so no idea when starting a new book will be a good idea...
  7. I suspect the ability still exists in the genepool but is currently untestable. Could be a vital plot point for the next book, I am convinced that the is planning to get the excess Ruin that should be coming back some time soon (possibly in the form of Atium) and try to force this back into Harmony to unbalance him and break his combined Shard
  8. No because you are always using your senses, you always have a strength, speed is linked to being in motion. Speed is pretty much the only one that you don't always actively use
  9. I don't know if he'd do it, but it's certainly different type of movie for him and he wants a change - Kelsier - Daniel Craig
  10. They might though, depending on exactly how sDNA works, maybe? Plus Ruin and Preservation put some of themselves into their species (which would be subtly different from other "human" species)
  11. Just finished Warbreaker About to start Kafka on the Shore by Murakami
  12. If Seekers can pick up non-Scadrian use of magic, then logically Smokers can protect against detection from them, so very high in mu opinion
  13. Tineye + longbow +training: should be a phenomenal sniper Lurchers definitely combat capable Seers very combat capable Rioters and Soothers both have vital roles in combat and war
  14. Hard to judge as we haven't seen a Herald, but based on what Rashek can do the safe bet is very onesidedly towards TLR. He has near infinite healing (and can heal back from death and can heal spiritual wounds apparently), speed, strength, senses, intelligence, can use Atium, can use all the Allomatic powers are increased power, can sense magic... The only thing is that the Heralds will eventually come back to life, but then Rashek will just kill them again
  15. Feverstone was only 2 of the orders though, wasn't it? So the 300 is for 2 orders. The Recreance as a whole was 9 but Dalinar only saw 2However, also worth noting that if Scadrial includes the Kandra or TLR, they know where a LOT of Atium is. Enough to make a small number of Mistborn gamebreaking - what I said above about Mistborn losing to Radiants is clearly not true if the Mistborn have Atium
  16. It doesn't matter! Keepers in particular spend enough time reading and writing and standing at feasts that they should be able to store loads of speed even at 50% filling, and then in Era 2 with a less active lifestyle for the middle classes in particular, people could spend most of their days doing sedentary work and storing speed the whole time! This makes it seems an EASY attribute to store, even if you can only store at 50% especially as Speedrunners are unlikely to be kept doing physical manual labour. With enough speed and Pewter, you should be able to move fast enough that Atium is useless, and now it's loads easier to store than I thought. No wonder Inquisitors were so feared- just give them a speed granting spike, let them store whilst on guard duty and then they should be able to beat anything I'm also dubious that pewter or plate grant 3x normal speed. That seems arbitrary and I think you're underestimating how faster 1.5x normal speed is. It's very very fast for small movements especially
  17. Big anchor needed for a tank. Likely, another tank
  18. Nah, I've just learnt that Speed is about 100x more easily storable than I thought it was - anyone able to tap Steel is going to wipe the floor with a Radiant now
  19. But your speed when not moving is zero. If you are moving your hands or something, you will have some speed to store, but it's going to take ages and ages to get any usable amount And I don't understand what you mean by "that isn't how Feruchemy works"? You store an attribute. Speed is an attribute entirely dependent on your motion. If you are not in motion you have no speed to store. Unless you are implying it is your capacity to be speedy that one stores? But then, steel is ridiculously easy to store, all Keepers and Inquisitors should have a ludicrous amount given how common it is and how easily you could wear it. The extension of which is that 1) Steelrunners really are unstoppable and 2) Sazed is much much much more stupid than I would have thought Edit: fine, fair enough. That's a broken magic system then, though, unless Brandon has another reason why Steel storing is so inconvenient. Why even bother compounding the stuff?!
  20. We should be able to estimate the numbers of Mistings from the books maybe? 1 in 10,000 mixed Skaa wasn't it in TFE (If Kel is right/telling the truth)? Then you have to guess how many Skaa have some noble blood somewhere in their past... Would be more in nobles though they are fewer... and if they go into the mists, you'd get nearly 1 in 16 Scadrians being Mistings. So actually, very variable depending on how they prepared for the war! 2 of the 10 sets of Radiants dropped their Blades in Dalinar's vision - there were 300 Radiants there. Impossible to know if this was all of those two classes and if all the classes have the same numbers, but if those 2 facts are true then there were approx 1500 Radiants in the Recreance, right? Interesting to think about, actually. Anyone fancy doing the calculations for likely numbers of Mistings? Also, if this is era 1 Scadrial, is TLR still alive? Let's be honest, until Roshar comes up with an OP physical god, he is the deal breaker here. I concur that 1 Radiant>>>1 Misting (except possibly a Seer and even then it's >>) and likely >1 Mistborn who are very rare (though maybe not >the main characters). I think an Inquisitor likely beats a Radiant, but there were only 20 of them. A LR beats, probably, all of the Radiants put together, with I suspect reasonable ease once he gets a Blade off the first one
  21. Are you sure? Unless you have a WOB, I am at least 90% sure this is wrong Seems very odd, given that Sazed said it was tricky and inconvenient to store speed. As a scholar, this would be a ludicrous thing to say if he could store it whilst reading Or to reiterate what I said but more accurately: you can of course store speed whilst sitting still, but your speed is zero )and reading it would be minimal), so you be storing a percentage of zero, which is of course zero
  22. I'm not convinced reading would store much speed - there's relatively little motion to slow down
  23. On the "limited Atium pre HoA" thing, it depends who is on the Scadrian side. If they have the Kandra, truly on their side, then they will know where to get LOADS of Atium I think we know that Harmony at least made Scadrians resistant to at least some diseases Also, this seems to make Lirin's job a lot easier!
