Possibly. But, it's a vote in the last hour. A poke vote makes no sense. IMO, votes in the last part of a cycle should be backed by some reason. But, that's just my opinion.

No, I mean, did he randomly pick Drake or is there reason behind that choice?

It's not necessarily town Vs elim. We don't know that yet. Sure, there may be various factions, but none of them may be The ElimsTM. It's all ambiguous right now.

I agree with Arinian about his points (and in effect, I agree with Jondesu) Firstly, waiting for a random lynch to happen is kind of analogous to waiting for an SK to kill at their whim or waiting for a disinformed village vigilante to take action ( except now you know its going to happen). And, we ( or at least I and a few others) do not want that. From what I understand of standard games (and assuming we can apply that here) the majority of the players in a game are generally village. A random kill is thus likely to hit a village vs an elim (thus why we discourage vigilantes too). So, IMO, we're more likely to lose a villager as compared to an elim and with no discussion gained. Now, I realise that we can't be sure that the village is in the majority this game, but we don't know that they aren't. Either way, we're guessing. On the other hand, even though D1 is almost always a mislynch, we do get some discussion out of it. Secondly, given that I agree with Jondesu and I can see where he's coming from, I'm inclined to believe he's a villager for now. Thirdly, I agree that Elith is likely who they claim they are. I thought of how hard it would be to be the first to claim to be neutral (woah, that phrasing), and I realised that though guessing the orange coloured text is not all that hard (if you've been here long enough), I don't see any merits in claiming to be the first to claim neutral. It simply puts you on everyone's radars, especially role scanner (who given that it's day one, presumably have no better targets). Which first cycle lynch debate and the lynch itself has inherent value? We need to generate that value ourselves. What value will the dead player's alignment and role have if you don't know how they acted while they were alive? An elim under the threat of a lynch will try to squirm (figuratively, of course) their way out of the spotlight. Perhaps they may try to enlist the help of a fellow faction member to get them out. This information (especially late in game) will prove an invaluable resource. A lynch on a villager will also give us information. Analysing the voting patterns and vote reasons gives us possible links between players. On the other hand, what would you do with a randomly killed player's alignment and role? Also, if we do want to avoid vote manip, then the solution is simple. Vote! (Although, I'm in favour of keeping the votes spread out D1 (unless you have a solid suspicion (which is unlikely on D1)) because the way the votes get manipulated also gives us information ( and the lynch remains as effective and random as it would have been). Now, I know this may be controversial, but I just thought I'd say this) Does role imply alignment? Or do we simply get to know about their role and the alignment is kept a secret? I agree. (That's literally all I have to say) This is kinda embarrassing, but after this post about voting, I have no vote to put forth. I definitely am not a proponent of no votes, and will put one if I do find something off, but as of now, no vote. I would also like to note that the epic that gave elith their powers likely was simply trying to announce their presence? Or they were trying to protect a neutral role who, they believed, might be under danger due to their roleclaim. The former leads me to believe they're on the village's side. The latter on the other hand is kind of puzzling. Why would someone want to protect a neutral? Any ideas? (Apart from simple goodwill I mean) Lastly, I would like to say that I was not here for most of this cycle, and in consequence, I could not say all this earlier. It is only right now that I caught up on the thread. Obligatory white text

Yeah, my fault there. I should have specified. What elithanathile is asking for wouldn't be allowed, right? Edit: Megasif: I see. No problem then, I guess.

You could assume its a game with 'n' factions. If that number 'n' simply turns out to be 2, then we have a classic village vs elim game. I'll be going by that principle. Emphasis mine Why would you assume items can give roles? I mean, I don't think its typical of items to grant roles. It just seems like too specific a question. One of the more plausible scenarios I can think of is that you're in a PM with someone and you want to verify a claim or something. Other than that, I don't know why one would ask such a question. (So, yeah, any specific reason you're asking this question? Even if you don't wish to share it, just say there is a reason and leave it there) (This has set off alarms in my head, but I think I'm willing to dismiss those for now) Given that this is a blackout game with restricted PMs, I suspect there will be at least one faction with a doc or something. Unless something changed since the last time I was here, isn't it not allowed to verify facts based on the specific wording or colouring in the GM PM? I guess that's mostly it? Also, does anyone know why seonid made this post? Specifically the emboldened part. This suggests to me that there is much more planning going on behind the scenes than any one of us can see. Personally, I'm willing to bet this is a multi-faction game.

All of our voting on nighthound was planned by the GMs! This is mind boggling! (Anyways, this post is to say I will post something after 8-9 hours, not right now. )
