  1. Good on you! I have a one plus one, and have been having trouble with the OS from OnePlus. Going into my Bluetooth settings, causes the phone to lockup and reboot. I've been considering using the Ubuntu mobile on it, and see if that works better. Trouble is, the second i do that I'm on my own. While OnePlus is helping me figure out exactly what the problem is right now. I might wind up going Ubuntu Mobile anyway, if they can't fix this problem. I will say, it would help Linux immensely, if there was a Linux UI just as powerful as the windows one is. Right now, the command line is very intimidating to most casual users. But if they could do everything the windows UI could do, from the Linux UI, it would make Linux more appealing to some.
  2. Here's a question for you cookers out there. I don't have time to prepare a meal on the days that I work. I work for 3 12-hour days, then an hour to and from work, and I have just enough time to fall asleep for 8 hours. Is there a good place to look for meals I can make, then freeze for a few days, to re-heat in the office microwave? Edit: I've also asked this question else ware.
  3. For what its worth, I agree. But why are pre-cut vegies shocking? And a creamy potato soup sounds awesome. I've never thought to make a shepherds pie in a slow cooker before, I imagine my outcome would be very similar to yours.
  4. I admit I like novels that are vaugley familiar. They don't always have to be the same exact thing every time, but familiar concepts. I'm sure that's a terrible thing to say from an artistic point of view. But from a consumers point of view it makes sense. Edit: If your interested in a musical with some really out there ideas on what comes after this life, I'd invite you all to listen to Paul Shapperah's album 'A Slenderman's Musical'.
  5. Ok, so I've actually just stopped playing Witcher 3 for now. I put it to the side, and picked up Stellaris. That game is fun on the bun. I'd happily go into some details about my campaigns so far.
  6. Radio? radio waves fly through the air, can have silver tongued announcers, and have music that can cause you to cry.
  7. The lack of humanity in a novel. I was reading the next installment in the lost colonies series. And the author is doing some terrible stuff to the galaxy. While that bothers me, its nothing compared to the lack of a reaction to this happening by the characters in the novel. Where's the outrage? The Anger? The sadness? The characters seem to simply not care. And that annoys the crap out of me, more then anything else.
  8. All yours, I don't have one ready to go.
  9. I'm apart of 2 D&D campaigns right now. One with a really weird rule set, but some interesting players. And another using the new 5.0 rule set, with some folks who aren't really sure how to play D&D characters. The last time we met up for our 5.0 campaign our DM set up an ambush for us along a main road, and we...well...ignored it. I'm play a warrior, who had his soul shoved back into his body by something (not sure what yet). Don't need to eat, don't feel pain, and need to sleep when my brain gets physically tired. I drew my long sword, left my shield on my back, and just walked up to some bandits, who were shooting me with arrows. Knocked one guy out, and looked at the other guy and just convinced him to stop trying to kill me. I took the first guy prisoner, and would have taken the second guy, but our warlock killed him first. It was a fun session, as I've never played a warrior before. So playing one now is...interesting.
  10. Dutch Sheppard, pure bred.
  11. Yep, she is an adorable little mongrel. Very vicious too. All that growling and snarling while she plays tug of war, and play bows to get us to throw the ball. (In case you can't tell, I'm speaking ironically. She is a giant pile of adorable mush).
  12. Don't have my headphones on me, so you'll have to tell me if this isn't the right song. But the video is from the right scene.
  13. Me and my dog izzy, after playing for a few minutes.
  14. Just finished the last episode of the new season of Supernatural. That was a decent season, and I'm hoping they don't have yet another world ending thing happen directly after this one. I'm curious if they're going to finally expand on the previous owners of their home.
  15. So I picked up Witcher 3 on GOG last week, and I just got around to playing it the last 3 days. Its...not bad, but I couldn't play 2 for very long, and I'm getting the same vibe from 3. I really don't like geralt. I don't like the character, the voice acting. Pick something about the guy, and I don't like it. I dumbed the games difficulty down to the second easiest setting, and the combat is pretty fun. But I constantly find myself walking around with half health, or next to no health. And finding the flowers for swallow is incredibly hard. Almost impossibly so. So I hunt for food and water, and am surviving off that only so far. This sucks, because I blew 40 bucks on this game, and I was told by everyone who's played it, and their next of kin, that this game is so different from 2, and is so much more awesome. But I'm not seeing the big differences that everyone else is. There are little things, which I like more. if I wasn't hunting for ingredients, then fast travel would be awesome. The detective stuff, where you have to follow tracks, and use your Witchers senses to find clues is pretty great. And finding the random encounters to help folks is something I rather enjoy. Or even running away from encounters, and the thing chasing me starts ripping into the nearest civies. I like that mechanic, forcing you to choose your hide, or innocents lives. But these are such small parts of the game, when I have to ride all over creation hunting for these exact ingredients (spent an hour looking for that flower for the swallow potion, only have 3 of the 5 I need for a single one), and have to deal with the voice actors emotionless voice to talk to...anyone.
  16. Fire could work as an answer. I got that riddle from the original KotOR, and the answer in that game was a gizka. Always hungry, always looking to eat, and licking your hand enough would cause blisters. But fire could work too!
  17. Heres one, I'm always hungry I must always be fed The finger I lick soon turns red If anyone needs a hint, its a creature from the KotOR universe.
  18. I do like me a triple decker pb&j. Put some chips on the side, and some instant iced tea. That is my favorite lunch right there.
  19. Hey, I'll take that reputation too. Either way, I'm good.
  20. That would require me to remember to do that. Which I can never seem to do!
  21. not sure what my rank is, let me just post and I'll find out. Edit: I'm a crew leader! I kinda like that rank. Some power on an airship, but not having the whole ship rest on my shoulders.
  22. I work overnights. So it annoys me to no end that most restaurants, save fast food, close before 10. I'd like to buy something healthy to eat! But I can't, because no restaurant is open. And I can't cook something, because the 3 days I work 12 hour shifts, I don't have time to do anything but drive home, sleep, get up, shower and run to work.
  23. If I had a rep around here, I think its from not reading the mistborn novels before picking up the Alloy of Law novels.
  24. Just picked up the Witcher 3. I'm a bit nervous, because I wanted desperately to like 1 and 2, but I couldn't get into them. But I bought into the hype about 3, and I've been in a gaming funk recently, unable to get into any game I've been playing. So I'm hoping the Witcher 3 can break me out of this funk.
