IIRC "the element" is something related to unpublished works. Not lerasium.
-
I imagine he could have left it with the false trail he left for Seventeenth Shard and they just took it to Frost. The better question is: how the storm did Frost get his letter to Hoid?
-
Yeah, but that "originally" implies his goal changed. And we have no WoB officially stating "Yes, Hoid burned lerasium". Maybe Brandon thinks it's something obvious we should have picked on: 1) he took lerasium 2) he used Allomancy. Or maybe there's something else going on.
-
Now that you mentioned it, I remember something like that was stated somewhere. Annotations maybe?
-
There was a WoB that Hoid would rather eat the whole bead. I'll look for it. EDIT: Haven't found it yet but this seems to imply he has burned it:

Also, there wasn't that much time from their marriage to their deaths. About a year? I'm pretty sure not all marriages conceive a child during first year. Particularly when they have to deal with armies, monsters, gods, end of the world...

closed for time being Honor Spren draws OCs

Contemporary human. The name's Plague and he's a decay mage - what he touches crumbles to dust. His appearance reflects that. He's in twenties. Tends to lean a little. Hair: messy, not short but not reaching the shoulders either. Black. Sunken dark eyes. Caucasian, pale skin. Very skinny, almost underfed. He's high (~ 6 feet), long limbs - overall it gives a slight impression that somebody stretched him. He dresses in standard T-Shirt + jeans combo, all dark gray/black. Variation of shades appreciated. Clothes are clean but they look rugged/worn anyway. EDIT: Now I have thought about it, why don't break up the dark colors with something more colorful? Personality: enjoys dark humor. But don't think he's all "dark and edgy" - he likes to have fun, party all night, those kinds of things. He always seems to know what's happening in the city, keeps track of all the events, knows all the good places. Likes to smile. Smokes sometimes. Items - keeps a few bracelets (reference) on left forearm. If you're up to it, his weapon is a sword which looks rusted. There's inscription on the blade which reads "Vanitas". Interests: he's a geek, he reads but mostly he roleplays RPG. Trained martial arts for few years. Listens to metal and those weird kinds of music I can't comprehend EDIT: Full body drawing.- 25 replies

Random Stuff X: Something Weird

Man, Foo Fighters is the best -
Surgebinding is a mix of H&C. I think an easy way to identify which Orders are more of given side is to look at the Heralds. Honor is male, Cultivation is female. There are 5 male Heralds and 5 female. Top five (WIndrunners, Skybreakers, Willshapers, Stonewards, Bondsmiths) are more aligned with Honor and down five (Dustbringers, Edgedancers, Truthwatchers, Lightweavers, Elsecallers) are more aligned with Cultivation. (also take a look at their attributes)

Even honorspren are not pure Honor and cultivationspren are not pure Cultivation. IIRC it was stated it'd be like 90% and that while Syl has an argument why she and her kind are the most pure Honor it's not as clear cut.

You can't just shoot someone and expect it to come out as a spike - you need to hit correct Hemalurgic bindpoint. However, what if you rolled the dice to determine who to spike? You could then rewrite what did you roll and by extension who did you spike, perhaps.

I tried to get them to agree that the Flat Earth is spinning cause Foucalt's Pendulum is working and some of my friends (who are also there, just watching) started asking my close friends whether I really believe all that crem... Anyway, here's another gem - I'm not sure whether it was posted unironically or not: -

Yeah, I've seen it before. That Flat Earth Society group I'm in is constantly giving me so much cancer... -
I thought about this. Who said that Shards can only Invest planets? There are a lot of celestial bodies that are not planets. Maybe Brandon is being clever here. I don't know. No soild evidence. But I think you need end-positive to have powerful monsters - Mistborn are powerhouses. Elantrians are powerhouses, Dakhor are powerhouses. End-neutral is not something powerful enough to slaughter 90% of population. And end-negative is not even that. Of course, Forgery is end-positive and it's not that powerful. So it's speculation, but if Voidbringers use Stormlight (and I think they do) they use end-positive.
-
There is no Shard on Threnody and there is no magic system. That's true. However:
-
@Pagerunner I think all Selish systems are end-positive. For Dakhor to eb end-negative it would have to reverse the flow of Investiture between Physical and Cognitive so that you're pouring Investiture into Dor. I doubt Voidbinding is end-negative. Storm it. Hm... if it's dead maybe it's not anywhere anymore?
-
That's the topic to discuss what can be that other end-negative system. Relevant WoBs: So what can we draw from these WoBs? there is exactly one another end-negative magic system other than Hemalurgy as of the time as Edgedancer was released we have seen minor hints of it This can mean that we've seen (we have seen, so for example Silence Above is out of the question): worldhopper with that magic some device made with that magic the third possibility I will describe below Obviously worldhoppers are hard to spot (vide: Felt, Terrisan woman in Warbreaker, Hemalurgist and/or WalDo). As long as devices are concerned those could be Ones Above, but various WoBs have it that (I was gonna link them all but it's too much) we've seen them before, so unless they picked up another magic system on their way to Drominad System they're not what we're looking for. The third possibility is that we haven't actually seen anything of that system but we have seen something of the Shard that powers it. For example, it could be Trell. We have certainly have seen his influence and actions and a little of his magic (trellium after all) so it could be that the other end-neutral system is fueled by Trell somewhere else. But my theory is that it's actually Ambition. That Ambition, mortally wounded in a clash against Odium in Threnody system, went and Splintered somewhere else. But before Ambition Splintered it had time to Invest a world, giving birth to a magic system and then died. And the minor hints we have seen are Shades of Threnody. And their condition is caused by "waves of destruction - carrying ripped off chunks of Ambiton's power" which "twisted both the people and the planet of Threnody". P.S. It cannot be First of the Sun magic symbiosis as it's not Shardic magic.

Random Stuff X: Something Weird

Uhh. That's a complex question. The film wasn't bad. But I don't think it would be memorable if I wasn't such a fan of the game. Games... now that's another question altogether. I have only played first five main games (Assassin's Creed, AC:II, AC:Brotherhood, AC:Revelations, AC:III). Black Flag is waiting for me to get a decent PC. Some of those games are my favorites. (description of each game) For me, a lot of appeal of AC is being able to climb and freerun on historic buildings, interacting with history and historic characters (be warned though, the premise of the setting is the conflict between two ancient compiracies so all that "Napoleon was an Illuminati" and so on is very much present and exploited) and (sometimes) killing them. It's not a stealth game - you can't even crouch until, like, seventh installment in the series? - it's more of "blend in the crowd" than "sneak". Fun thing is how history is adapted to fit into ancient conflict between followers of "free will" philosophy and "control people for their own good" philosphy. A lot of historic events are "in fact" provoked by one of the sides, so it's a lot like reading a conspiracy theory. Only that's it's good and is consistent. P.S. Oh, and II and Brotherhood have utterly amazing soundtracks. P.S.S. Man, now I want to play them again. Sigh. P.S.S.S. If you get around to playing II and Brotherhood, I recommend switching audio to Italian and playing with subtitles on. I've seen advice that you should turn the mini-map off but I think it's something you should do on replay. I plan to replay without any HUD whatsoever. P.S.S.S.S as a PC player I recommend using gamepad. Or playing on console. I played on keyboard + mouse but I've also played a chunk of Brotherhood on console and it's better. -

Or maybe uni is simply more difficult? Life doesn't get simpler, ever. I don't want to sound all "when I was your age" but... mark my words. -
That's no moon Shard... that we know of. Ire's concept of Fortune is basically the same thing that Chromium Ferrings manipulate. It's like there's Connection in every magic system or Identity. Personally, my opinion is there can't be a Shard of something that is the building block of cosmere - no Shard of Identity or Shard of Connection or Shard of Investiture. So no Shard of Fortune.
-
It's not exactly a new theory. (I stand by "sprenium" BTW) But no, it would not be Tanavastium. Nahelspren are a mixture of Honor & Cultivation Investiture in different proportions. It'd be easier to theorize what these ten different godmetals would do if we knew what harmonium does...
