Supremacy of Arelon Year 1 Previous years have been disastrous. Starting with a collapse in the Arelon economy, the hungry rose up destabilizing an unready government. With the ruling class on the brink falling and the citizens in open rebellion, the leaders have all gone into hiding. The merchant class has taken hold and the kingdom of Arelon has splintered. Now each of you has an opportunity to rise and take what has rightfully belonged to the working class all along. Just make sure you rule better than your predecessors. Turn 1 has begun. It will end at 8 pm mst on Wednesday.

Turns will end on Wednesday and Sunday of each week at 8 pm MST. Each turn in the game represents one year. Deathclutch may correct me on this one, but for now you may make trade agreements, but not alliances with NPCs. Most of the game will be solved by referring to the rules; however, if you come up with a clever interaction we will probably let you get away with it. I'll be very interested to see what you try.

Hank looked out off the front of the ferry. It had taken him so much to get where he was. Now he was heading home. At least what used to be home before an epic in a bad mood had flattened it. He was starting to get the feeling something big was going to go down in Portland, and he wasn't excited to see what it would bring. First he'd have to take a journey into his past. ------------ ---------------------------------------- I feel like we've said a lot this turn, but not come up with much. I do like the plan of safe scanning areas. That way if anyone extra ever turns up in those locations, well know who the killer was. However, don't we have members of our gangs who have that as their ability as well? Spending the points is fine, too, but there are more role checkers that we aren't considering.

After an uneasy night spent sleeping on the floor in city hall, Hank woke just as sore as the day before. "There has to be a better way to live than this" he mumbled to himself, sitting up and straightening his shirt. Dr. Curtis returned to the council chamber."At least you're still alive. That young man who we attacked last night is dead." "Better him than me." "You watch yourself or you'll be there next." Hank wasn't too worried at the doctors threat. He'd heard much worse from much scarier people. Still it was time to leave. He grabbed his few scraps and a blanket he'd found and left without another word.

Hank peeked out through window of the building he was staying in. The blinds hung crookedly and threatened to fall off completely as he pushed them aside to clear his view. Out on the street a man was... asleep? No his eyes were open. He clearly wasn't conscious. He wasn't dead either. He could have been wasted. The least Hank could do was help a guy out. He headed for the door to pull the man to shelter. The freed window shades slapped loudly against the pane startling Hank. He spun around to see the man stand suddenly and stalk off. Well, there went that plan.

The streets were silent as night fell. A chill wind made the hair on Hank's neck bristle. Dusk brings a new danger. He strode of to find some shelter before it was too late. --------------------------------------------------------------- Just a reminder, whether you agree with the plan or not, everyone needs to find lodging somewhere if we want to catch the agents. Otherwise the rooms are a waste.

Thank you, Mark. You're right that the bankers can't out the GAs. They'd need a proxy. I think, given all the points they are being sent, they'll be able to open a one turn PM with someone random in their gang. That way, it doesn't make a difference if the proxy gets killed by the Agents because there'll be a new proxy the next turn anyway. Also, the bankers won't be finding GAs by how many points they receive. Instead they spend seven points and learn the identity of a random GA. When they pass that through a (excuse the term) disposable proxy we have an Agent revealed. On top of that, there are three Bankers so three proxies and the Agents only have one kill anyway. The only issue I see there is narrowing down that the proxies aren't bankers by changing proxies every night. So maybe another precaution is to use the same proxy repeatedly until they die.

concentrating the groups into three buildings is only a problem if we aren't going with the "feed the bankers" plan. You're right that that it makes it harder to narrow down who the Agents are logically, but that's what the points are for. I suppose we could go with the plan to spread everyone throughout the buildings and still feed the points to the bankers, but I like the idea of expediting the gangs knowing who is in their faction. As for the drunks, we could set another place for them to meet. I'm not sure it'll do that much damage to have drunks pick a building and show up with a random faction anyway. However, I'd say be careful with sensitive information like the identity of your gang's banker regardless of where we send the drunks. There are government agents in every gang. I've thought about the shared win condition and the only way I can think of to pull it off is to kill three people simultaneously. The only ways to do this are if we have three hitmen poison the last epic in each gang, or we could have the bankers spend seven points each to kill the three people. The most difficult part will be to find all the epics. Some might not be as willing to come forward as Meta is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hank collapsed against a wall, gasping for breath. He'd finally lost the epic, but he didn't recognize the area either. He wandered down the street looking for something familiar. As he turned the corner onto another street, he saw the harbor. But that wasn't possible. The last he remembered he had been on the other side of the river! will RP for points!

I'd like to hear from the GM's on that ruling, but that sounds great to me. also sorry for the forever-long posts. I was writing so much I forgot the reason I started that last one. I think for now all points should go to the bankers. They are proven to not be Agents and there is no chance for interception by the agents. As soon as the bankers get the points, they need to start learning the members of their gangs or the government agents. Actually, if we go with Meta's idea, just find the Agents. If they get the points we can have a perfect lynch game and win day five or six. All it will require is cycle 2 each banker will have to pm someone and that person will act as proxy. The agents will kill one of them and after two cycles, we have all their identities. Edit: ninja'd by Lopen

I think you've got a good plan Lopen. There may be a better way to find eliminators using resistance tactics, but I'm afraid either of our plans require dictating where people go and it may hurt the fun of the game. The alternate plan would be to organize where everyone goes on night one the way you did. The following night, however, we would need to mix up the order, dividing the groups. What this does is point a finger to the people who have been in two or three buildings when kills were made. An issue with my plan is if Maill is put in a room with Agent A, then we mix up the groups and Maill ends up with Agent B. Both nights people die in the building with Maill. Thus we suspect Maill and lynch him accordingly, when all the while Agents A and B keep alternating. To resolve this concern, I believe we just have to take these as data points. I think it will be harder for them to alternate as well because the Agents are likely to have abilities with night actions and so one without a night action will make more kills than the rest. An issue with both plans is making sure people actually end up where they are meant to go. A solution: We need to have a speaker from each room announce who was in that building with them. If that information is doctored at all, people will be able call out the speaker as trying to change facts. It's helpful that Maill is GMing, because few others would lie when they were good. There's that analysis. Is this something we want to try?

Hank woke up on the street... again. The lump on the back of his head was a painful reminder of the night's events. There had been beer, lot's of people, bright lights--the world was ending after all. He rested his head back on the pavement wincing slightly. The world could wait for him to sleep this off. He closed his eyes only to be woken by a sharp kick in the ribs that sent him flying. He crashed into a car a few feet away and fell to the ground. Hank didn't even look up to see the epic who had taken an interest in him. He knew better. Instead, he ducked into a building sprinted to the other exit and ran for his life. Should we start the traditional debate over day one lynches, or am I jumping the gun?

So the biggest difference between this game and resistance is pm's. Where in the board game it is very difficult for the spies to communicate thus they give themselves away by having two fails on the same mission, in this game not only do they have free communication, we also don't know how many people chose to fail the mission in the first place. I think this is just as important an angle to look at as the eliminators allowing the mission to succeed. If four people go on a mission and two of them are evil, then we kill one of the eliminators, we can't assume the rest of the people in that group are cleared.

Lane scowled at the proceedings. Well, more than his normal permanent look of distaste. First that perfectly good poker game was disrupted. Luckily he'd picked up on the cheater not too far into the games and had made a small fortune off of a few poor suckers stuck on gamblers fallacy. Next, some big shot calling himself dragonspit got the guards all riled up. Now they'd be watching extra close which throws off my trade. He hoped their attention would stay on him. To top it all off, his employer didn't like drunks! Who doesn't like drunks? Lane couldn't imagine liking anyone who couldn't hold his own in a drinking contest. Of course he had an upper hand in those competitions. Lane always did. He wasn't foolhardy enough to get into a competition without already knowing he'd win. Except maybe this time. This time he'd gone out on a limb. Obviously the host has means and connections, but he was clearly miles ahead of Lane. That was an uncomfortable feeling. Lane signaled for another drink and a lanky waiter rushed over. Only highly trained eyes could have caught the sleight of hand as the waiter slipped something from his pocket as he handed the mug to Lane. The corner of Lane's frown twitched- the closest he got to a smile- as he felt the paper underneath. He took a long drink from his fresh mug before standing to announce "I volunteer for the secret mission which will undoubtedly be called for soon." His mouth twitched again. He did love to be a step ahead. ------------------------------------------------------------------ So if it isn't clear. I'm volunteering for the mission. Take that how you will, but also know that I will succeed it. I've played resistance several times as well as a similar game called avalon. I'm stoked for this game! Also please don't kill me for that. Edit: sorry. Early posted. I blame my phone. Edit 2: finished RP.

Mid-range Game 11: Paradise Lost
Elkanah replied to twelfthrootoftwo's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah that's a fair point Lopen. I haven't been able to focus on this game like I had hoped and SD is my best guess for now. I'm afraid I don't have anything more solid, so I'll go ahead and leave my vote there for now. next minute, the thread goes crazy and I die. I'll try to post more so we can have better reads than we have now, and move forward with a more educated lynch. Sorry, some of this is word garbage so I can have my code word in it.- 493 replies

I still wouldn't mind hearing Maill's reason, but silver dragon's vote on Maill felt really bandwagon like. I'll go ahead and put my vote on silverdragon.moving forward- 493 replies
