  1. Okay, I think I'm more suspicous of Araris than I am Xino. Striker Araris This way we can get more information out of the lynch... although I may switch over for the chits and giggles
  2. Penguin flight was one of the last to arrive at the battle. Even from some distance it had been apparent this would be a bloody and costly fight. Penguin flight engaged immediately keeping nearer the north side of the wreckage. It looked like the debris this time included ships that could be mistaken for Pocos! They were built differently, presumably to maximize use in out of atmosphere combat, but they still looked very serviceable. Normally the DDF looked just for the acclivity rings to build their own ships in igneous, but fully or even slightly functional ships would be a great boon in Alta! It was no wonder there were so many Krell! Estimates were that already eighty to eighty-five krell ships were dispatched to keep those from us. The Penguin flightleader's voice came over the radio "would you look at that guy go!" He gave a low whistle. Clever turned from where his wing mate had taken down a krell ship. It was going to take about thirty seconds to reignite his shield anyway, so Clever surveyed the battle until he saw one pilot chasing a small group of krell. His movements were flawless and it looked almost as if he anticipate where the krell were going next. That was a poor choice as he was sure to attract a lot of attention. Clever's shields went back up as he saw this pilot take down his second... no third krell ship in as much time. "Two on the right" his wing mate called over the private channel on the radio. "Let's take them...." Clever started, but suddenly the pilot went into a freefall. Immediately four ships were on its tail making sure it couldn't recover. Scud. Clever punched the button for the private line to his wing mate. "We've got one of ours falling fast at 3 O'clock, 800 feet down." "Do we make that?" came the reply, but both had already punched their thrusters headed to aid the falling showboat. Sure enough the krell had noticed the fancy flying as well and several were on the same trajectory. Clever pushed his ship up to mach 4 to close the gap. "Be ready!" He shouted to his wing mate. "We're here to help." Penguin 1 and 4 had also come when they saw the pilot fall. Clever dropped to mach 2 and spun in through an ahlstrom loop to reduce the strain of the turn. He hit his IMP dropping his shields, the pilots, and the five or six krell surrounding them. He lanced the falling pilot and threw his acclivity ring into an ascent as destructor fire surrounded him. How it originally ended: Clever boosted past the chasing krell, killed his booster and threw his acclivity ring into full drive upward. Then he set off his IMP, dropping his own shield and that of the four or five krell he'd been able to catch up to. Destructor blasts rained around and past him as his grav caps did what they could to reduce the effect of the sudden G-force. It wasn't enough. The blood drained from Clever's head down into his feet and everything went black. ----------------------------------- Don't go tarnishing my reputation That is definitely an interesting thing! Even if I claimed heir... would you believe me? I second this This is all true. Unfortunately I am not an elim. I guess we could be on a team, but I've sent way too many coded messages in the thread to Xino to explain that... unless that's what I want you to think? @Elandera, are we informed that we are roleblocked even if we don't take an action? ---- Sorry, more later when I have time again
  3. "Don't feel like talking, eh?" Clever grinned into his radio. "We'll let our destructors do the talking then!" "Gravstopper flight, you are clear to ascend." a female voice said over the radio. "Penguin, you are on deck." We were up next. Clever felt the normal adrenaline bubble up. It still blew his mind whenever he got to fly and what better way to prove dominance in the sky than by outflying a bunch of enemies in a debris field? He watched as Gravstopper flight called out role. After each of the nine radio'd their flightleader, they took off at what looked like mach 3. Clearly they weren't in much of a hurry. After what seemed like a lot longer than it probably was, the air traffic control tower called out their flight and Clever shot up into the air. Six people had been assigned to Penguin flight. (not Clever's idea for the name, but what can you do when you're the last one to get to Alta?). He had flown with two of them before including his current filghtmate, but back then they had been Krellbuster Flight. That was disbanded after Cobb and Clever had both left. Only the other two stayed at alta. Everyone else quit or had already died. He heard his flight leader call for him and he smiled again as he called back "Penguin 5, call sign PeaceKeeper ready and eager!" His wing mate followed suit and at last they were off. --------------------------------------------------------- So.... How's it going? -- I'm going to do some analysis to see who could feasably get a gun, but I won't put it in the thread unless it becomes really relevant (or if I get bored enough). -- I reallized I forgot to comment on this. I appreciate receiving -- @Zillah, It might be time to start lynching randomly. Would you care to vote for someone? I don't even care if it's me. -- Elkanah makes a great point here. I think we should all trust Elkanah. -- I would never trust myself! If you are ever wondering if something in a post I make is a lie it probably is. I just think I'm a villager. -- @StrikerEZ, StrikerEZ, StrikerEZ, StrikerEZ, StrikerEZ @StrikerEZ -- Please do! I think you are one of the lynch pins along with me that determines some alignments. -- YAY! While I'm glad to be alive, I wish the lynch trains on me had lasted a little longer. I'd like to have seen who else would have jumped on. -- @Fifth Scholar is probably going to ninja me, because you are on right now, so I'll be late with my question of what you think will spur discussion, because wild claims and accusations aren't cutting it anymore for me. -- @Abstrusity, Do you wanna build a snowman? Come on, we've got some prey! With krell ships falling from the sky (they all will die) all up there blown away! We used to be code buddies, but now we're not. I wish I could decipher why! Do you wanna build a snowman? In a blizzard of Krell a snowman. Okay, bye. Do you wanna build a snowman? while flying ships through the debris? I think some role playing is overdue, I've even started talking to the enemies! It gets a little lonely when there's no PM's. What am I gonna doooo? Do you wanna build a snowman? It doesn't have to be a snowman. -- @Sart, If you thought this was a vanilla only game, how is it you were role blocked? Does the light line cancel new PM creation? That is the only blockable action a normal villager could start with. Also, if you are empowered, why were you going to suggest that we had a vanilla only game? More interestingly to me, what changed your mind? Because up to that point we only had a claim from TGK to be empowered and I thought he was lying. If you had kept being roleblocked a secret, you could still have suggested that we had only vanillagers, thus hiding your own empowerment. I feel like sharing that you could be roleblocked is not a thing elim!Sart would have done, so it helps my trust of you, but I'm still not sure why you shared it at all. (But I am very happy you did, because now we can have a meaningful discourse in the thread ). -- I'm so sorry if I missed anyone. I don't think I did, but I have been jumping all over between spreadsheets and previous threads, so it might have happened. Please come play some SE with me. This is a really cool game, and I'm very sorry if my irrational play style has made it harder for anyone to engage. -- more to come I'm sure as soon as it isn't double posting or even if it is
  4. I am still suspicious of Kynedath but I need the pressure of a vote to get some more discussion going. Striker, would you mind weighing in with people you at least suspect more than other people? I take this as a compliment. Thank you! True... I'll be honest, buying a radio drained my reserves. I was hoping to gain enough chits for a gun as well from being a part of both lynches and came up short by one because of passing a chit. I guess splitting Kidpen's chits 6 ways wasn't quite enough for me. But that's why I've jumped on both trains. Also I was hoping my odd playstyle would create more discussion, but at least some is good.
  5. There are two destructor pistols left. My guess is the evil team threw all of their chits together cycle one and the person who sent in the kill that cycle bought the gun in the second cycle. That leaves the other gun from the shop and the bountiful gunner pistol that was dropped by The God King. It is highly unlikely another elim can get a gun this cycle so two of us need to buy the guns out from under them. I expect them to use it immediately while they still have the full compliment of elims, so that moves us down from 6-3 (probs not 5-4) to 3-3 if we mislynch. We are down to the wire and have to get an elim this cycle. Here are cursory thoughts about each player still alive. Kynedath Has flown below the radar this game. I will note this is uncharacteristic of Kynedath. He is usually a lot more close to the center of attention throughout the game. Slight Elim read Zillah's posts have felt off to me, but nothing she has said or done is actually indicative of being an eliminator. Very Slight Elim read Elkanah is definitely playing this game for fun and not optimally. Now he's ready to buckle down and arrest some Disputers. Strong Village read Rathmaskal Contributed a lot more cycle 2 than cycle 1. I don't have a clear picture of where he stands yet, but I'll do a reread to see what I can glean. Neutral read StrikerEZ hasn't posted very much at all. He completely missed Cycle 2. @StrikerEZ, where did you go? I feel like there is something to be gleaned from the day one train and backing off of Striker, but I don't know what it would be. I am confident he isn't an heir, but I don't know that that actually helps us at this point. Very Slight Village read Araris has been a part of activity discussion. Other than that, there hasn't been much to indicate his alignment except his mistrust of me which I think is NAI, but others disagree. Neutral read Xinoehp Is having connectivity issues, but was quite active day 1. I want to believe he is good, but I have no such information. Neutral read Fifth Scholar has some really good posts that fuel discussion for a while after he makes them. I need to go back over them with a finer toothed comb to try to weigh whether I think he's good or bad. Neutral read Abstrusity also isn't clear from anything they've posted whether they are good or bad. I do get a good gut feeling from their posts, but it could be code bias. Very Slight Village read Sart suggested the pass the chit plan, which I will reveal I have gone along with. I wanted people to be able to confirm my actions despite it not being able to prove whether I killed or not. It wasn't going to interfere with my ability to buy things anyway. In fact, I like the idea of sharing more and more as the game goes on. I am especially curious to see what the igneous engineer(s) have found, because time is growing short. Even if it's just the people to whom they sent the anonymous PM's (or if they pretend to have received an anonymous PM). Slight Village read -------------------- I just realized there are ten of us still alive, so we possibly have 2 mislynches left. Even so, it would be best if we evened those odds this cycle because another thing I realized is the elims got at least 15 chits from killing TGK plus up to 50 more between him and Shanerockes. If they organized that cleverly, they might be able to purchase another gun this cycle. Either way they are the only ones who could have purchased the other gun that has disappeared from the market. Worst case scenario they have two kills this cycle and two next cycle making it 7-3; 4-3; 1-3 with mislynches. I'll start with a vote on Kynedath. Can you give us a rundown of who you trust and who you don't? In order from most trusted to least I am at: Striker, Abstrusity, Sart, Fifth Scholar, Xino, Araris, Rathmaskal, Zillah, Kynedath -------------------------------- Alarms sounded. Clever had received word that his ship was airworthy and he was anxious to get into the sky after months on the ground. But why did the Krell have to come so scudding early in the morning? Of course, morning was relative. There was always plenty of light from the skylights. Even so, he had to force himself out of bed as he steeled himself for the battle ahead. After quickly dressing, he ran for the hangar and climbed the high ladder into the Santa Maria. It felt so good to climb back into his own cockpit and he sat back just enjoying the familiar feel of his ship. The debris fall was supposed to be a long ways away so there was still time for collecting his wits and courage on the flight out. He flipped the radio to the private channel to his wingmate [anyone want to join me in the battle?] "Are you still going for the record? I heard nightmare squadron set a new record the other day! 15 confirmed kills and 12 assists!" @anyone
  6. Clever smiled as he could hear Cobb's cursing all the way in the canteen. This was an all right day after all.
  7. I understand the frustration with the codes. It is an extra time commitment that most players don't have available. That's why I have kept it to mostly RP and extraneous stuff. That way if you don't have the time, you don't have to worry about it. I have sent a couple of extra messages meant just for Xinoehp because he cracked the code and responded. I don't mind the vote on me as I would probably vote on me for all the stupid stuff I've pulled. This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you Zillah. I don't think Kidpen is bad, but since I'm the only one who comes close and I am sure I am good and I don't want to miss out on the chits, I'll vote for him. Sorry
  8. Rpdtdf walked the grounds after a day full of boring meetings. They had called him back out to Alta base to fly didn't they? Not that he could fly the Xzugz Izfkz in her current state anyway. Apparently they had more than just the krell to deal with now. Some group of people who thought they knew something were trying to dismantle the system. Maybe humanity had been on to something when they decided to stick to families of no more than fifty in their own caverns. That brought back the thought of home. Of papa teaching the kids to cut and smooth the stone into beautiful gems. Granted the food here was better. Not just algae wraps and rat meat, but real food. Rpdtdf's stomach growled as if to emphasize the point. It was about time to head in for dinner anyway. He chuckled as he realized he'd have to walk past Cobb's office on his way back. "time to come up with something new." he laughed as he pulled out a pad of paper from his pack and began to scribble nonsense. Tormenting Cobb was a small bright spot in coming back to this overpopulated base. As he made his way into the crew canteen, he stopped a young guy with a cadet pin.\ "This is absolutely urgent! You must get this to Cobb immediately!" Seeing a questioning look in the guy's eyes he added "NOW!" Knowing better than to argue with a full pilot, the lad took off. That was more like it. ----------- I'm sure the Xzugz Izfkz will be in condition to fly by next cycle. Clever was disappointed that he missed out on yesterday's battle.
  9. @Zillah I'll start by saying I really do appreciate the vote counts. I have had a hard time keeping up with who is even on the chopping block this game due to there being literally one vote on everyone. That said, it's a very easy way to seem active without contributing to the lynch discussion. That's a pretty good way to stay off people's radar except I guess mine. That coupled with something bugging me that you are only contributing when someone in the evil doc prompts you to is making me very wary of you. I'm willing to have my mind changed, but for now Zillah Rathmaskal. @Rathmaskal, good to have you back on board, sorry it took me a while to retract that poke. That is fair. If you caught some of my hidden messages you'll see I'm really just desperate to strike up conversation... which I guess I would do eliminator or otherwise. It sounds like you are voting for me for the same reason I'm voting for Zillah, so carry on I guess. (shrug face). At least you are voting.
  10. I merely hinted that I might be a first citizen right there, so no you didn't miss an earlier role claim.
  11. not village? A solid point and one I've pointed out myself. Although it only really works if Striker and I are on a team as I thought I was breaking a tie on the two of them. If I'd really been worried I could have put a second vote on Coda, but I wasn't. fair enough. Edit: as a means of encouraging discussion, @The_God_King, why is it that you suspect the people involved in the lynch? is it just because he came up village?
  12. That is a solid point that I totally forgot. I guess we don't know for sure about the first citizens. I still have Fifth, Striker, Xino, and Kidpen at very slightly trust because they weren't protected. I'd like to read Araris as village because a lack of discussion helps elims and he is actively trying to avoid that. TGK is the same, but to a smaller extent. For now I'll vote for Rathmaskal. @RathmaskalYou only have the one post and I'd like to hear who you trust and who you suspect at this point in the game. I know there still isn't a lot to go off yet and I'm hoping poking you changes that.
  13. I need to find another way to rock the boat... hmm... Dumlj gnd rnkg Sorry Coda. I thought Striker and Coda were tied and I know Striker tends to be more active when given the chance, so I thought I was breaking a tie.... Then again, with the presence of first citizens, heirs, and deep reserve pilots; I shouldn't even have worried. I'd assume both Coda and Shanerockes were normal villagers, but I also have not had any contact from people claiming to be normal either (which might be for the best.) That either indicates people are being careful with their roles or there are no normal people. I'd like to think the former, but the latter is still up for debate I guess. I forgot to mention Sart's recommendation last cycle, while not necessarily the best idea for the village, is one I could see them suggesting regardless of their alignment. I have personally deemed it NAI. I kinda expect to be lynched soon, because I'm drawing all kinds of lines around who defends me and who I defend. Unfortunately, I am good and have very little information, so I'm afraid you'll get as much out of my lynch as we did Shanerocks. I'm actively trying to change that, though. --------- As far as gut suspicions, Zillah's first post sat weird with me. Her subsequent posts haven't had the same effect, though, so maybe I'm just not used to playing with her yet. I disagree that three votes was a big swing, but it is at least notable that it's possible that either Abstrusity or I could have been defending one of StirkerEZ, Fifth Scholar, Xinoehp, Kidpen, Shanerockes. I can see an argument that I would work on a villain team with Striker or Fifth. Shanerockes is proven good. I haven't had much interaction with Kidpen. I have been doing fun code stuff with Xino in thread, and I don't know why I would do that if I was an elim. Striker has yet to interact much with anyone so it would be a scudshoot to try and guess who he was trying to defend after we make the assumption that he is evil. tl;dr there are too many possibilities for the Coda lynch to be helpful at this point. -------- I've gone back and forth on whether to bring this up, but I figure the elims have probably already realized this and it would be best if we all had access to it. Did anyone else notice that no votes were played with? Coda and Shanerockes were most likely not heirs. I voted late enough in the cycle that if Coda had been an heir, it was still prudent for an eliminator deep reserve pilot to remove a vote on any of the other five people on the block. Unless we had a first citizen hit an heir, none of Elkanah, Kidpen, Rathmaskal, StrikerEZ, Araris Valerian, Fifth Scholar, Abstrusity, Sart is a first citizen. None of Coda, Stirker, Fifth Scholar, Xinoehp, Kidpen, or Shanerockes are heirs. If there is an eliminator Deep reserve, they did not protect the same list as above, which lends a slight village lean to Striker, Fifth Scholar, Xinoehp, and Kidpen. I'm sure there is more I can parse from this information, but it's late so I'll leave it there for now. What do you all think? Edit: I guess there was something to be learned about the lynch after all.
  14. Sorry, I have broken several promises this cycle. I didn't return for RP and I still haven't made any baseless accusations! I salute you. Six hours of hitting my head against a wall yielded no final results. I love that you hid the key in a poem and I'm sorry to let you down. Gnkx kx zyxlpjgdph yfkppkzug! This is just about code cracking ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game info: I'm afraid I don't have any especially strong reads. I don't see Araris' or TGK's votes on me as an indicator. This is pretty normal behavior for Coda. I still expect to see a quick post before the end of the cycle, but they are usually pretty quiet. I appreciate Fifth speaking up for me and my reckless play style. Not that he condoned it, but that he said it was not an indicator. It does make the two of us seem like we could be a team, which I would be fine with as I'm a villager. Unfortunately, I still have to worry that he may try to pocket me, so I can't move him to trusted yet. Yes, I know saying I'm a villager is a sure-fire way to make sure I get lynched in the current meta, but I have to keep the game exciting somehow and people might be more keen to discuss this than codes. I'm going to make a last ditch run through the thread to see if there is anyone more deserving a vote than Coda Also @Coda What do you think of the others who have votes? Edit: Sorry @Coda Coda I don't have time to figure out another option. Striker, You had better not be a resistor
  15. There goes my afternoon I am so stoked Haha Thank you! *Sls! K ckcu'g fdzpkwd nls ijrn k fdpkdc lu xqdpprndro! Sdpp clud rfzrokub gnkx xl ajkroph!* XD We're everywhere! Thank you! @Elandera, Does buying take an action?
  16. Sorry, It's a serial killer. they typically are a one man faction with the ability to kill. They usually only win independently, but the village can win with them still alive because the village isn't trying to stop the killing, they're just trying to stop the evil faction.
  17. Oh yeah! I wanted to compliment @Elandera on your PAFO quote. Excellent! Sos! K ckcu'g fdzpkwd nls ijrn k fdpkdc lu xqdpprdro! Sdpp clud rfzrokub gnkx xl ajkroph! Mostly to see if they would. Also to see if there are any normal villagers. I believe there is likely a coward among us with her own goals. If there is an SK type third faction, it would be likely that more of us would have power roles. You're right that it is more beneficial to the village to discover who has powers than it is to find those without, but if I had asked for that, I'd look like an eliminator RP still to come
  18. Sdpp, Abstrusity kx cdvkuzgdph yzc! Jupdxx nd'x ulg... Abstrusity Izgyd StrikerEZ ! Yjg gndu zbzku, ul StrikerEZ Rpdtdf wandered through Igneous. This cavern was so much bigger than the cavern he had grown up in! He might have felt a bit agoraphobic if he hadn't already had the opportunity to be a pilot above ground. In the distance, he could see the apparatus. "So that's how we're going to win this war, huh?" He said, incredulous. Still, it allowed them to create ships at a decent rate. Faster, even, than they could train pilots. That's what brought him here. Rpdtdf had always technically been a Defiant. He'd even belonged to the Defiant Defense Force. His cavern, however, still asserted it's independence. An independence Rpdtdf was loathe to relinquish. Still, his ship wouldn't fix itself. The DDF had offered a generous amount of merits in addition to fixing and allowing him to fly his own ship. It looked more like a scout ship than it did a Poco. It was longer than the Poco and maybe a little wider allowing for an extra large destructor Canon on the front. For this, the Xzugz Izfkz gave up some of it's speed. It was able to blow through the krell shields in only five hits (three fewer than a Poco) and Rpdtdf loved his blasters. The power of life and death (his and others) in his hands. I'm going to post this now because I have stuff to do. I'll be back to finish the character setup later. Can anyone confirm to me that there are non named players this game? I don't recommend you do it in thread, but if you have a radio and no role let me know via PM. Or better! Put it in the thread in code! The harder the code the better. (But still crackable plz);p. that way only I will make the time to crack it! A couple more clarifications if you don't mind, @Elandera: Do the deep reserve pilots cancel one, both, or neither of the first citizen's votes? Also, is there a limited number of radios available? /Questions There was something else I wanted to say, but I don't remember what it was. Maybe it will come back to me as I wander Igneous:/
  19. This sounds so cool! There is always another secret in these games! Signing up as Ned, a pencil mustached cane wielder who is definitely neither a creep nor EBI!
  20. XD I literally just finished this book five minutes ago! So good! Analysis and baseless accusations to come in the morning. I look forward to drinking the blood of my enemies from goblets fashioned from their own skulls!
  21. Question: will there be a vanillager role, or will everyone fall into one of the listed roles? I guess PAFO works, but I'd like to not make a fool of myself again : p
  22. Character withheld: rpdtdf okuczbjh call sign: peacekeeper yes that's a crackable code. Good luck!
  23. I'm in! I'm a little relieved for the closed PM's, and I haven't played a skyward game yet, so I'm super excited! Can I get clarification on the start of the game? Do we start on Sunday or the 15th? Character to come later...
  24. Thank you so much for running this game @Elandera! It was soo much fun! I apologize to anyone I offended this game with my countless lies. Zillah having the translator's lens makes it so much clearer why she was so frustrated with my playstyle. I lied to every player this game and usually in multiple ways specifically so that the translator's lens was useless. What I didn't count on was how much extra work it would cause Elandera (sorry). I still don't know how you were able to deliver all of those messages. If you are interested to go back through, you will find I lied in every single post except for the one Feruchemical Skybreaker asked me to write. Frequently the lies were in white text, so you can only see them if you highlight the post as you go. I did this to mitigate the chances of the truthfinder's lens being used on me. It went against everything I had worked for to not lie when I claimed to not be a librarian, but I guess it wasn't nearly as big a deal as I act like it was. I have never been this active in a game, and it may be a while before I can be so active again. I can say without hesitation that it was absolutely worth it to be so involved. It also helped to be in contact with as many players as I was, and I deeply regret not getting Devotary and Striker as in on the action as I had most other players. I loved how active everyone else was as well. I can't remember a time when we had the whole village vote when there were still more than ten players playing! It has been so fun playing with all of you and I want to send an extra shoutout to @Feruchemical Skybreaker, @Zillah and @The_God_King! You all did really well for your first game and I hope you stick around for many more. It was an honor to work alongside you and against you. Finally (at least until I read the elim doc and the spreadsheet) I want to comment on the strategy I used. Lying to literally everyone was not as hard as I thought right up until cycle 3. That's when people started making PM's with others and double checking my claims. There were a few who wanted to lynch me over that because if I wasn't being honest about my role, there was no telling what else I was lying about. That was totally reasonable. What was the hardest thing was keeping straight who I told what. If I were to try this again, I would need to keep a detailed spreadsheet, as a couple of my lies would have totally sunk me had I not caught a liebrarian cycle 1. Suddenly the lies I told started to matter and further I was buying my own propaganda! I started to believe there was a windstormers lens available because I had lied about losing one! I thought that the eliminators knew I was grandpa despite me never having claimed that role to anyone until CadCom. (sorry). I was doing lens math based on my doubling of of certain lenses as Aydee. That became a problem and I went and reread every PM to screw my head back on straight. I recommend trying out this playstyle to anyone who can commit a substantial amount of time to the game, but would warn you against over committing. I think my next challenge will be playing a game wherein I don't lie. That seems like more of a challenge, although I won't know until I try.-with the exception of saying I'm village, even if I'm an eliminator. All in all, well played everyone! and thank you again Elandera!
