It seems pretty obvious to me. Harmony heard about Roshar and the Spren relationship. Saw how it worked and decided to create his own "Navel Bond" and so he gave the people of Scadrial belly buttons so investiture could more easily enter the body. Can I get one of those sad wa wa waaaaaa noises? In all seriousness though I wonder if people don't snap during birth now. It's a time that is traumatizing and painful enough to induce snapping and it's forgotten.

So far my opinion on season 10 has been a bit iffy. I'm really not as excited this time around. I think Smile was a slight improvement over The Pilot but both were pretty mediocre episodes. And sadly episode three also looks to be kind of bland. I'm waiting patiently for episode four as it is the first interesting looking episode. Then we've got a Jaime Matheison episode after that and those are always a good time. I want Doctor Who to go back to being scary and emoji robots just doesn't do it for me. Episodes like Midnight, Listen, Blink, Impossible Astronaut those are classics. Edit: Well New Who classics. XD

I'm totally reading this when I get off of work. XD

I'd say most probably. He's a good pre-established character who travels around a lot. The primary function of the interludes is to show us more of Roshar. It would make more sense to continue using Axies and Rysn instead of creating yet another new character that we have to keep track of, for at least one of the interludes each. I'm completely fine with the introduction of new characters but when Sanderson has a convenient character to use it seems a shame not to utilize them.

If I were a herald bound by those pesky laws I know for a fact that I would be a Stonewarden. My own morality pretty much binds me to the I'll stand when others fall mentality anyway. I take pride in my dependability. However if I could choose to be a certain type of Surgebinder, I would probably choose Lightweaver. Illusions can be so much fun. I wouldn't enjoy flying as I have an aversion to heights.

I guess I should have said the first anime rather than the original. I realize that the author's intended story was shown in brotherhood. That's actually why I prefer the first anime. Brotherhood is guilty of everything wrong with the shounen anime genre. It focuses entirely on getting the characters to the final god-tier boss so they can defeat them with their own inner power and have a happy ending. The first anime on the other hand focused more on the relationship of the two brothers, the final boss is neither god tier or defeated by the heroes instead being beaten by her own hubris, and the ending is far from happy. It's hopeful. Sorry for the rant and any confusion I may have caused by using original instead of first. This is all my opinion of course. I know there are plenty of people who enjoyed the brotherhood anime I sadly wasn't one of them. I do have to give to props to the actress who portrayed Lust's death throes. That was an amazing scene.

Your Least Favorite Cosmere Story And Why
Rage_Fortress replied to Stonesinew134's topic in Cosmere Discussion
My least favorite is White Sand. Specifically the Graphic Novel version. I felt like it was too rushed with very little payoff. (I am trying to read both the original prose and the graphic novel in tandem so I'm no further in the original than the first graphic novel is.). I feel like it definitely has a lot of potential though. -
I always forget about The God Complex. It's one of my absolute favorites though. Such a clever title for the episode.

I picture The Cognitive Realm as kind of like a blanket laying on top of a bunch of different sized sports balls. The bigger the sports ball the more thought is centered around it. Smaller sports balls are the things that are thought about but not necessarily all of the time. The valleys in between sports balls are open space where there is next to no thought existing. The sports balls are the Physical Realm. When you Worldhop using the Shadesmar You're teleporting through the blanket to the top so you can walk down a valley and up another sports ball and jump into that world. Perpendicularities could be little holes in the blanket. That doesn't explain the equator conundrum but It's how I like to picture the Cognitive Realm. (Edit)The rises and falls in the blanket could be like hills on a topographic map with closer lines that would explain the lack of distance when walking through areas of little to no cognitive activity.

That's a really good explanation. I think some are having trouble differentiating between the earth being round and the Earth spinning.

I agree. I used to really love anime. Then I grew up. There are a few series I'll still hold very close to my heart. Fullmetal Alchemist (the original not brotherhood.) Toradora!, Gurren Lagann. It's just very hard to watch any new anime as they all seem so over the top and ridiculous, and not fun over the top like Gurren Lagann. With GL it was treated as goofy/crazy. Sometimes anime tries to take itself far too seriously then they throw in stupid fanservice moments and lots of screaming. I say make Mistborn a trilogy of movies. Make Stormlight a live action mini series. Movies for everything else. Some of the short stories such as Emperor's Soul might not make a bad animated feature, if done without all of the traditional anime tropes.

I'm a whovian! My favorite Doctor is Peter Capadi followed closely by David Tennant*. My favorite companion is either Donna or Rory. Because they both are not afraid to tell The Doctor off when he endangers people. My favorite arc is the Cracks in the Skin of the Universe Season 5 arc. My favorite villain is probably the Ice Warriors or The Silence. The scene I can't get through without crying is the end of Vincent and The Doctor. *10 is the Doctor that I cosplay when I go to my dork conventions. (See profile pic.)

The Importance of Being Sel
Rage_Fortress replied to SylphrenaHonorSpren's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
This is a really cool connection to make. It would make sense that we would need the knowledge of Sel before the next Misborn series if they are learning how to view the magic systems as coding. I love having a book series like this that can be predicted with relative accuracy. I'm so used to going into a book completely blind. This minimal predictability makes me more excited for the next books in a series. -

Help me find crazy fictional superstitions :)
Rage_Fortress replied to Leviathan's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I just realized these need to be about the number 13. LOL. The only one I can think of is a twilight zone episode where the 13th floor of a shopping center was home to a bunch of mannequins that came became real people for a year in order to learn about the land of the living. -
Help me find crazy fictional superstitions :)
Rage_Fortress replied to Leviathan's topic in Entertainment Discussion
There is Roxas's whole beginning chapter of Kingdom Hearts 2 where you have to find answers to the mysteries around the town. They are kind of superstitions. The Doctor who example I gave above about "The Foretold" is a good one though. -
The Importance of Being Sel
Rage_Fortress replied to SylphrenaHonorSpren's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Brandon has likened the magic system to coding before. I think that Selish magic is probably the most understood magic system in the Cosmere (at least by those using it). Anyone who has done any sort of coding before knows that the tiniest mistake can throw the whole thing off and make it not function (like the chasm line). I think if anyone can learn how to hack into another system's investiture it would be the coding experts of the universe. Think about the events of the Secret History spoiler below. I have a lot of faith that the people of Sel will be very important later on. -
Help me find crazy fictional superstitions :)
Rage_Fortress replied to Leviathan's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Are you looking more for real world examples of superstitions that are false (i.e. Step on a crack break your mother's back) or are you looking for superstitions from fiction (i.e. those who bear the foretold's stare have 66 seconds to live. "Doctor Who")? -
Warbreaker movie casting (dream list) *spoilers*
Rage_Fortress replied to BreathTaker's topic in Warbreaker
Sorry I saw my name (which was on his post) and thought you were asking me. As for the link it's a simple matter of me having no clue what I'm doing. XD. I was trying to pull off one of those sweet links to a specific poster. So I just highlighted Elenion's name and copied it into the text box. I have learned it doesn't work that way.- 99 replies

I posted in the original forum but I dabbled in Necromancy in doing so. So I'll post it here as well. I submit Ryan Reynolds as Lightsong the Bold.
