Thank you for posting this. This the first time I've watched Brandon speak and I was impressed. Dalinar is definately a bad chull and seems the sort who might have left many potential regrets in his wake. As for killing the wounded, that is actually a kindness on the battlefield much of the time. There wouldn't likely be any of the losers supporters out there to tend to the wounded so the choice is die quick or die slowly and painfully.

Was it the throne Dalinar coveted or the Queen that went with it? I was never sure about that. I did have the impression he was happy with his wife but maybe she found out something??? It is all very mysterious and will likely be part of Dalinar's book. Maybe his wife killed herself over something that Dalinar did? The Blackthorn was admired by Sadeous so I think he was capible of many dark things.

OK, I'm a new member, it took me awhile to read through this thread but get ready for another Adolinista. I can see Adolin remaining a secondary character but please don't go all GRRM on him. I just hate that. So maybe Adolin eventually gets an Honor blade and as Shallon's mate becomes her champion. She is the main character and not suited to fast fighting action but has him as her protector so that she and Pattern can work their magic during a battle. Another possibility, Shallon works her magic and awakens his blade by drawing a new spren for it. It just seems he would be her very dedicated knight and having her give him the emotional support he seems to need would fill out something for both of them.

I just reread this section last night and it was just as heartbreaking the 2nd time. There were no more choices by the time Harmony took over Bleeder, what she was before was gone and what she had become couldn't be allowed to continue as a free entity. What he did was akin to forcing a psychopath to take medicine that makes them sane. She couldn't tolerate that and choose to kill herself. That also means to me that regardless of how Wax feels, he didn't kill her twice, she choose that herself. I'm still not convinced that the first time was Harmony's doing. I think there is still something we don't know. I'm also very curious about the disaster that would have been if Wax had been told the truth earlier.

I could see Wayne and MeLaan having a great buddy relationship. I don't think Wayne is shipping material really. He needs a lot of internal fixing up. I do think both Wayne and Marasi don't want Wax to marry Steris because they think there is no love/emotion between them. I think that was true and frankly what Wax wanted at the start. He had emotional PTSD from shooting Lessie. I also think that Wax has started to grow fonder of Steris as time has passed. He has started to defend her to them and is begining to appreciate the heart baring honesty she has shown him. The whole scene in the carriage where he is telling her about the loan at the bank is him giving her some of that soul baring back. He can't really talk to Wayne or Marasi about how he feels like he is a relic and that maybe that the whole loan story was more about poking his uncle rather than him being noble trying to save the poor guy. And his response to Steris at the party seemed to show a growing affection and perhaps a certain level of appreciation for her efforts to please him by trying to grow herself.

I just discovered this site and had to jump in because I NEED to talk about SoS. I'm an old geek girl and science fiction and fantasy fan since I was a kid. Just call me a shipping magnate because I'm all about the romances and relationships. As a girl reading in the 60's I didn't get many female protagonists in the books I was reading and now I love the authors like Brandon that have strong women in their stories. And just so you know. Wax/Steris and Adolin/Shallon are the ships I'm sailing on. I don't have a Rhyshidian (sp?) stallion but I do have a Missouri Fox Trotter. He would dump me in New York minute if we saw a chasm fiend.
