  1. There is absolutely no way that the end of Stormlight will end with any combination of the below: Dalinar taking up Honor Dalinar!Honor fighting and killing Odium Someone taking up Odium and/or Honor. And here's why: It's been done before, Brandon is waaay to tricky of an author, just to repeat the exact same ending all over again. Yes, you can put all the spin on it you want, but he will 100% figure out a way to end the series in a way that's new. Y'all are putting not nearly enough faith in him to actually think of two different endings. Remember, the end of HoA was foreshadowed a mile away, and apparently Brandon did the same with SA. Unless you can find the clues in the first few pages (as he said they are), I'm not paying attention
  2. My life to yours, my Breath become pancakes. Hmmm, that's a good question. Kelsier maybe? I would say Hoid, but given our lack of information about him it would feel pretty wrong.
  3. So hello. While I have been lurking here for a good while, slowly gaining more and more cosmere knowledge, I have been particularly inspired the last few days to try to be a bit more hands on. Here's some stuff about myself for you to peruse: RANKING SANDERSON'S SERIES/BOOKS: SA > MBE1> MBE2 > E > WB WoR > OB > tWoK HoA > tFE > tWoA And I have no interest in his non-cosmere books. On reddit, I am /u/mysteriouspenguin, and I am waaaay too active on that site for my own good, particularly on /r/fantasy. You can also find me on goodreads here. A note particular to the interests of this site, I am culturally Jewish, so there are a few examples in the cosmere where my particular knowledge might be helpful.
  4. If you're going to have one of the shards we already know of be non-human, Uli Da is probably the right bet, for the reasons you said. But remember, there's still 6 shards out there waiting to be discovered. I'm assuming that so much has changed from the Dragonsteel days of yore, that anything we can glean from non-published works about the Sho Del is of no use to us. In my opinion, the Dragons are probably the most mysterious of the three races, but that might just be my personal preferences.
  5. The Ashyn = Shin thing is blowing my mind. I cannot wait to read Silence Divine. To solve the gravity problem, there's a possibility that Ashyn has the same 70% going on as Roshar.
  6. Venli's already quite a ways into becoming a Willshaper, and after the fiasco with Jasnah and Szeth, I really doubt Brandon is bringing Eshonai back. Nohadon, whaaaaaaa? Fen makes a but more sense. She also fulfills my criteria of covering ground better than Navani, but the question remains of what spren she'll use. I can't think of any obvious answers.
  7. Here's another problem with Ambition: If Hoid is trying to drum up support for his battle against Odium, why ask just a tiny CS/splinter/whatever? He's been asking just shards for a reason: they're big, powerful, and can come over to Roshar to help out. But if what Hoid is talking to is just a splinter, how's that going to help? Yeah, not the most powerful arguments, but I personally think that it being Ambition is a little bit of a stretch.
  8. "I will unite all of the half-full glasses, to create the glass that can withstand the highest thirst: a glass of fullness" - Bondsmith
  9. Since we're doing this: here's my Szeth:
  10. Also, absence of evidence isn't necessarily evidence of absence!
  11. Here we have the #1 thing I think preventing SA from getting filmed. No Rosharan ethnicity has a on-to-one correspondence with earth ethnicities. Some may line up better (Shin to Caucasian), but some are just weird (Alethi, as you mentioned). Some WoB's of note: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/120-warsaw-signing/#e7912 https://wob.coppermind.net/events/131-general-reddit-2016/#e3932 https://wob.coppermind.net/events/162-steelheart-portland-signing/#e2985 TL;DR: Sorta.
  12. Hate, but in a good way: Moash, Sadeas, Amaram Just plain don't like: Zane, Raoden, Sarene, Siri, Vivenna Steris (yep, that's not controversial) and borderline Lift. Guess what my two least favourite books are...
  13. I think that if Taravangian became a KR, that he would be a Bondsmith, and if he was a Bondsmith, then the Nightwatcher would be his spren, and that Cultivation is probably playing him like a fiddle, but he has a ways to go before saying the Oaths. This doesn't mean he won't, just that it will take some character development. We can discuss all we want if he is really putting the Destination before the Journey, but someone who sold out the entire world to their opponent just to save his own city doesn't seem to honourable, but that could just be me. If he does become one, I think the conversation between him and Dalinar about that would be pretty entertaining. Navani? Another Kholin Radiant? I know that this point has become a zombie horse at this point, but you'd think that the spren would diversify a little bit. And if the Bondsmiths are about bringing men together, it would make sense for the three of them to be form very different parts of Roshar, to cover ground.
  14. I think all of you lovely folks would enjoy a neat little subreddit I found recently: /r/stormmoash . It's a hoot. Anyways, earlier in the book I was of the opinion that Brandon was playing the long game and that Moash was going to become a KR of some other order. Then he did the storming salute, and now I he should go die in a hole. /s. I'm actually kind of fascinated by his character, even if I do legimately think he's a steaming pile of rust that takes no responsibility for his actions (which, imo, is practically the moral of OB).
  15. Nightblood will devour Odium. You heard it here folks. Also Moash will either a) die horribly or b ) become a non-Windrunner KR after MUCH character development.
  16. As I was perusing through Reddit, I found this this comment by /u/pervyfguy69 about abusing the magics of Allomancy and Feruchemy to create a Nightblood or Shardblade-like weapon. I thought that these fine forums, being the obviously more cosmereically (???) enlightened portion of the interwebs would like to take a gander at his thought experiment. Also please note that there are some mild spoilers for OB within that comment, and the thread. (Hopefully) you have been warned. Here's an edited version without these mild spoilers, for those still not inished the book: Also importantly: according to Brandon himself this "shoots past RAFO territory so far, it can't even see the line from where it's now standing". Thoughts?
  17. Another thing to consider is that when Rayse was giving us this information, he had a particular goal in mind, and a "loathsome and crafty" man like him would for sure twist his words to get what he wants. It might not be outright lying, but Odium was trying to sell Dalinar with the idea of working for him, and trying to convince him that he wasn't just hatred is a good way to do it. It's kind of baffling, at least to me, that a lot of people are just taking his words at absolute face value.
  18. OB spoilers:
  19. Dalinar just saying "I am Unity" is pretty flimsy evidence for it being an Intent of a shard. Remember "I am Hope"? Capitilized and everything, and no one was going crazy claiming that that was a shard Intent. Imho "You" just being Evi seems a bit to pedestrian and basic for something that Brandon calls "a big RAFO". On the other hand, Adonalsium is a bit out there for my tastes.
  20. Mr. T being a Radiant of any kind is ridiculous. His methods flagrantly violate the Immortal Words. "Journey befire destinstion" remember? He is all about getting to the destination of humanity surviving, the journey be damned. And no, this isn't a matter of interpretation, it's pretty clear that he is *techincally* Bringing Men Together, but in a way that's totally opposite or the Radiant M.O.
  21. Men of red and gold?? They're obviously the Aiel, the People of the Dragon! /s
  22. What would be on the other side of the gate of truth then? the cognitive realm? would Truth be the shardholder?
  23. If FMA is Cosmere, then what would its shard be? Analysis, maybe?
  24. According to Shai, the Cognitive realm is made up of thoughts between objects. It is made up of what things think about themselves, and what other things think of it. T His folds nicely into the idea of Spren., We know that they are creatures mostly of the Cognitive realm, and they are idea-fications of natural phenomena and emotions. But what if a man became so powerful, so imprinted on other people minds that he became an idea, as well as a man? You get Kelsier. Who, as we know, did become a cognitive shadow after he died. that's good and all, but what about the Stomfather? he is already known a Spren, but what is he the Spren of? I have to theories. Jezrien pros: -makes sense that Vorinism would conflate them cons: -might not have actually died Honor pros -actually did die -a citation that gives a dead link on the coppermind article cons can't think of any The only problem with this theory is that it doesn't account for shades. oh shucks! Discuss.
