I think that Prof left him alive. Why kill him? He provides food, lighting, and (maybe, depending on his creativity) heats the city, making three fewer things he has to worry about. Really, only an Epic in his Rending would kill him.

I read, I sometimes (often) get interrupted. One time, I was reading an Agatha Christie book (can't remember which one) and while I wasn't reading it, I had an absent thought, "Wouldn't it be interesting if there was a book where the Watson-character was the killer?" I finish the book and discover that the Watson in the story was indeed the killer. I have never forgotten that event. That said, Vin's earring blindsided me, I thought she was just really good at Bronze Allomancy. It didn't help that I missed the part in TFE where Vin's earring comes out. And really, we're told she's really really good with Allomancy for three books, she jumped like a caffeinated grasshopper while burning pewter, for Harmony's sake.

And really, I'm not sure he knew about ol' Leras, and Ruin was (mostly) trapped in an extradimentional cell underneath his palace. Put that way, keeping the Well close sounds like a very bad idea.

The 24 hour awake thing... Bronze Compounding. (Or is bronze Warmth? I always get those two mixed up. Bronze and brass, I mean)

I don't know what Kobold does for a living, but if it involves writing in any way, I either want to be in the front row with popcorn or hiding in a bunker with ribeye steaks, popcorn, and a lot of cameras.

You look like you have no shortage of ideas. 3)How coincidental that the only other Sharder with a name based on a made-up Epic has 'Storm' in the name. Stormgate has weather manipulation, lightning throwing, and prime invincibility via twisted karma (you hit him, your nose bleeds, but not his) 4)Might I suggest you get Bladestorm made into your profile picture? Stormgate is my profile pic. PM me if you don't know how to do this. My way could easily not work for you though. 5)You should seriously consider adapting the powers on Bladestorm. I can understand the idea of trying to go Pokemon (all the powers) on an Epic, but seriously. That's a seriously OP Epic that can only be defeated by use of a weakness or old age. If you want to keep the powers, great. But I don't think that that powerset is possible, given what I know about Epic powers. (I've read Calamity) 6) Welcome to the Shard!

It wasn't failure. It was true failure, the knowledge that you didn't win and wouldn't win if you did something different, that you simply can't do it. It's like people deliberately scoring low on a test so that when they see their scores they can say "Sure, but I could have done better." Talking about Sanderson's philosophy is entertaining.

I can open up doors with my feet. And accidentally memorize things like movie and book storylines/quotes. I use the second one more. Do you have a spike that can take those things?

I'm working on a fanfic about TLR's daughter, Lutha or Lutha. But before I do so, I need information. Are TLR's children the Southern Scadrians? I literally just had this idea.

May I hijack this thread? Nicrosil is not something normally found or easily made, like iron or steel. How did TLR get enough to Compound to the level of being able to affect the metal in a piece of glass?

How often do you need to run somewhere fast? You obviously aren't thinking about the practical applications. True, compounding makes it easier, but really. You can win any speed eating contest with Bendalloy and maybe steel. Don't like the smell? Tin Feruchemy.

Savantism is caused--I believe--by using Allomancy to crack a Spiritweb to allow more Investiture to flow through. You may be able to steal physical attributes and Investment (Allomancy, Feruchemy, Etc.) but I seriously doubt the ability of Hemalurgy to steal cracks that it itself forms.

To throw a wrench in all your careful poring through books, remember that Wayne spends a fair amount of time inside speed bubbles, making him perhaps a year older over time.

In SH, we get an interesting liquid. Its first appearance is when Hoid uses it on Spanky and his oar to be able to interact effectively with it and remain in the Cognitive Realm, presumably. Its next appearance is with the Ire, the mysterious group of Elantrians(fallen Elantrians, that is. They were bald, for crying out loud. But that's for a different post) drink the substance (at least, a similar substance) daily, possibly to remain in the Cognitive Realm, possibly to survive. This substance is clearly Invested. It glows, and it keeps people in the Cognitive Realm (remember, beings of power can last longer). The question is, what is Investijuice? Where does it come from? Why didn't Hoid need to drink it? What effect exactly did it have on his oar? Does it exist in the Physical Realm? I have no other theories on this topic.

So, on the main page with all the forums, there is the Twitter feed, probably displaying all tweets from Sanderson, the 17th Shard, and the people who #Sanderson, etc. Anyway, Sanderson recently posted a photo for his new series that was recently announced, but there are some issues. Namely, the picture keeps changing, making it impossible to visit most of the forums because the button to go to them keeps moving. Also, I realize that stuff like this should probably be PM'd to a member of staff. Who specifically do I message for that?
