  1. One thing is that medium does not effect frequency. So there would be no redshift because while the speed of light is reduced, the frequency remains unchanged. Like, the thing being changed is speed of light, which is still to fast to have a noticeable change to the characters. Just like speed of light changes in water, but red stuff is still red, etc.
  2. You're blind, because you have two steel spikes sticking out your eyes. You have now become a Steel Inquisitor. I wish for true love.
  3. Actually, Preservation actions snapped MISTINGS at a rate of 1 per 16, garunteed. Since this is Pre Vin's second Ascension, the mists are still doing that snapping. Overall, that's a lot of mistings. That's is far more than the earlier quoted 1 per 10 000. So in terms of number of magic users, I'm pretty sure Scadrial wins. (Do Spren blades and Spren plate remain behind if the Radiant dies?) Unless I messed up the time period again, since it keeps changing.
  4. Should this be moved to the Cosmere Theories forum? I don't see and spoiler tags being used.
  5. I find it weird that bullets deflect when exiting time bubbles but light doesn't. Why I says this is because no one in the series remarks about changes in landscape, etc. This is due to my theory: Bullets don't actually bend when exiting the bubble, but light entering the bubbles do. This is akin to stabbing a fish underwater with a spear. When you try to hit something underwater, the reason why things appear to deflect is because light bends while the object doesn't. The same could be applied to the time bubbles and bullets. So maybe the characters need to start compensating by aiming higher/lower and from the center of the bubble?? (I highly doubt the deflection is completely random)
  6. Granted. They appear when you sit down and replace whatever you sat down on. Example: you sit on chair in room, chair becomes toilet, rooms becomes bathroom. I wish for the ability to make people happy.
  7. We don't know, maybe 50. We didn't find out about 16 being Preservation's thing until book 3, and Elantris is the first book.
  8. Voidus, why would there be limited atium in Pre HoA? Kelsier could have not destroyed the pits, and House Venture still knows how to get the pits. I think that you don't mean Pre HoA, you mean end of FE and beginning of WoA.
  9. Maybe Scardrial was just a small asteroid floating in the Goldilocks zone, and Ruin and Preservation made it a planet by adding mass, water, atmosphere, etc. So it 'existed' before the two shards got there, but in an insignificant way, and Ruin and Preservation essentially created the planet known as Scardrial. They also decided to keep the original name.
  10. Granted. Your bane is that instead if your metalmind also granting you the ability to tap it, you are now unable to tap your metalmind. I wish for capacity to prevent the coming storm of my fail on the Calculus exam.
  11. Maybe Brandon is referencing League of Legnds, where Azir comes from a desert (Shurima). /s
  12. Ruin and Preservation created the entire planet of Scadrians, so I would expect investiture can become energy and matter. However the conversion rate from investiture to matter feels like something along 1:1. A little bit of investiture is a little bit of matter (and antimatter, due to pair production), but is equivilant to a lot of energy. Though soulcasting doesn't appear to use too much investiture compared to attraction fabrials, so I'm probably wrong.
  13. Umm... can't the tank just go full speed reverse while shooting the shardbearer? I don't think shardbearers can outrun tanks
  14. Where is this Dalinar flashback, I can't find it. It isn't the one where he gets his Archer friend, right?
  15. Since this is between WoA and the end of HoA, will Preservation and Ruin be getting along now? Because you didn't pick a time of a Desolation for Roshar, so I assume you meant no shardic influence? (Koloss aren't being controlled by Ruin, Inquisitors aren't being controlled by Ruin, Kandra not being bound by First contract, Ruin isn't generally storming things up for Scadrians, etc)
  16. Where did this 140% normal speed thing come from? The books say that Feuruchemy is end neutral. So, you store 30% speed for 1h hour. You have 0.3 Speed*Hours. Which is converted into 18 Speed*Minute, (From perspective of the SteelRunner, 18x speed for 1 minute). 1 minute is more than enough time to go in, stab someone in the face leisurely, take their shardblade, then run around the opposing army slicing everyone in half. At 18x speed, everyone would appear to be standing still.
  17. Okay guys... but you do realize Mr. Sanderson changed a lot of things in later books. In the Well of Ascension (That's the middle book I hope) , when Sazed taps a bunch of iron at the end of the book to hold the Gate shut against the Koloss, it says that he needed pewter or else he would have broken bones for tapping so much weight. This obviously wasn't an issue in later books.
  18. Seriously, Sazed, you had a DAY worth of speed stored up, and you wasted it... To run to Luthedel. You couldn't just find a horse or something? ***Rant over***
  19. I think A!Pewter and F!Steel would be nice. You get to move at normal speed by burning A!Pewter and storing F!Steel at the same time, then when you tap F!Steel, you can also use pewter to go even faster.
  20. The number of twinborn is small enough it doesn't matter... I'm pretty sure you only have 1 significant digit, so that small number of twinborn doesn't matter. We aren't doing abstract math here, 5 million is estimated to the nearest million, or perhaps not even that.
  21. Prof. I'm guessing not an all out brawl, and more like a round robin. Steelheart v Oliberation Oliberation Given how Prime Invincibilities can be nullified with enough energy/nukes, I think Steelheart would die to Oliberation. Steelheart's main method of hitting people is using energy blasts, which Oliberation might be able to absorb. So I'm pretty sure Oliberation wins against Steelheart. Oliberation v Prof Prof I think Prof could just grab Oliberation, then summon forcefields to squish Oliberation (or just punch Oliberation until he dies). Prof's healing keeps him from dying from the heat. Prof vs Steelheart Undecided I'm not sure about this one, since both seem to have a hard time killing each other. It depends on whether forcefields can provide enough power to overcome Steelheart's invincibility. (Alternate method I thought of: Make a small, human shaped forcefield around Steelheart, then expand outwards to asphyxiate Steelheart, though it appears David is unaffected by lack of air or lack or air pressure or heat from friction of reentry, sooo... I don't know)
  22. Just how important is Atium in Mistborn fights? Due to the mechanics of Atium, if your reaction speed is fast enough, then you make more use out of the Atium. If your opponent is punching you, you react and grab their hand. Since this is the result of them punching you, it was not foreseen by your opponents Atium. If they don't react to your hand, then you succeed. Atium can, essentially, only see as far as the opponent's reaction time. This means that the person with a faster reaction time would 'see' more of the future than the person with a slower reaction. Resulting in overall advantage for the person with faster reactions. Note: Mistborn are usually very agile so they can move when they react to things, unlike perhaps a Koloss. An example of this is Vin vs Shan. Shan was surprised by the extra Atium shadows, allowing Vin to kill Shan, despite Shan still having Atium on. Therefore we know that failure to react is still possible, even with Atium burning. (Burning Atium expands some of your mind)
  23. Conflux's powers definitely increase the ability for a battery to store electricity. So dogs did not cause a removal of that power. Directly contradicting the point you make of presence of dogs not affecting the powers
  24. Well, Prof mentions that his powers are so strong that if he gifts at full power, the person gets corrupted by the darkness. Which is contrary to what you said. I'm pretty sure this is in Steelheart. Also, Confluence talks about dogs not negating the powers he gifts out, even before he overcame his weakness.
  25. Name: Liberty Primary Abilities: I can transform non-living matter into heat, and heat into non-living matter. There is a limit to how much matter can be transformed in a while. Somewhere along the lines of 1 metric ton of mass into heat per day. There is no limit to the amount of matter can can be created. The matter that I create must be something I know how to make, or the original object. Otherwise, I can create any matter that is naturally found on Earth, such as pure elements and up to some biological compounds. This ability has a 10m radius where any matter can be transformed or else it requires a specific knowledge of the object's location. (Effect works on air) Secondary Abilities: I can absorb heat as energy and release it as heat, this energy can be stored indefinitely and infinitely. I can be harmed by the heat if I release it too fast and don't transform it. I need to be touching in order to absorb heat. I can transform light and kinetic energy into heat. No limit on this. The heat can be absorbed by me. I can completely prevent the activation of Epic Powers, but has no use on manifestations of Epic Power that are already present before I affected the Epic or Motivator. Powers that appear to be always active such as healing or impervious skin are deactivated by this. This ability can only be targeted to one specific individual at a time. I need to be in 100km range of the person or a motivator, and it takes 5 seconds to stop their abilities fully. Tertiary Abilities: I have instant reactions. I have supernatural talent for mechanical and chemical engineering, and generally heightened intelligence. I can manipulate pain in an individual by making them feel more or less pain. I must be touching. I can change swap my body with that of someone else. Powers go with the person's consciousness. Any harm I've taken transfers with me. Must be touching. Outfit: Whatever I want, but generally a hoodie and jeans, to appear normal. Weakness: Powers are negated by ingesting solid Gallium. Liquid Gallium has no effect. Presence of solid Gallium causes my primary ability to have a steadily reducing daily limit as the Gallium gets closer. My primary ability can effect Gallium. Solid Gallium causes all other abilities to weaken. Body swap is not reversed, but I cannot engage in another swap if it is weakened beyond a certain point. Evil Manifestation: I like to make other High Epics slaves of a common man. I'll find the most arrogant, strongest Epic and make them slaves to a common person for as long as I find it amusing. If they don't do as I and the Epics 'owner' says, I hunt down and torture the Epic, until the Epic goes into a coma due to pain or accepts the inevitability of servitude to a common man. Sorry it seems like I have such an overloaded kit, but honestly they are separate powers that work together to form a super strong Epic!
