  2. Their was Allomancy before Rashek took the power at the Well but their were only mistings, no mistborn. Alendi was a Seeker, and he had hemalurgic spikes.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if they could.
  4. While I was writing about this theory over on my Adonalsium theory I realized why the fragments of Devotion and Dominion would combine even without a mind forcing them too. You attributed it to them both lacking a holder and being broken. I think it is because not only are they fragments of Devotion and Dominion respectively, they are also fragments of Adonalsium so they would "remember" being together in the distant past.
  5. I've updated my original post with a section based on Chaos theory: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/3377-theory-devotion-dominion-and-convergence/ I wanted to get my thoughts out there but I might need to find a way to explain them better.
  6. You can go for long periods without having to breathe. I could see it being useful for divers or workers in an area with high levels of noxious gases.
  7. Wow, that was really interesting to read. Is this another theory from the mysterious Shardkeeper's podcast? If so, I can't wait to listen. I'm interested to know what kind of impact this would have on my adonalsium can't be put back together theory. I'll have to give it some thought.
  8. Electrum allows someone to see all the possible actions they could perform, and the result, in the next few seconds. Say I contemplate followine the shadow directly in front of me, and then I see the shadow-me's head get chopped off. I'm probably not going to decide to follow that one, which leads to your opponent seeing your atium shadows go in all different. As for why the atium burner can't see your ultimate decision, it's because your ultimate decision keeps changing. Burning electrum is a continuous process, it is constantly updating.
  9. Welcome to the Forums! It's a nice theory, but unlikely. Brandon came up with the chasm and Elantris long before he had developed Forgery as a magic system.
  10. Something that has been bothering me the last few day is what happens if a partially full metalmind is used in an alloy. For example: a Feruchemist stores some sight in a tinmind and then that tinmind is melted down and mixed with copper to make allomantic/feruchemical brass. What happens to the stored attributes? I can think of three possibilities, and none of them seem right. Either the attribute disappears. The attribute is unaltered and still accessible, so the feruchemist can tap sight from a brassmind. Or the attribute is converted into the metal's corresponding attribute, in this case, warmth. Does anyone know if Brandon has ever been asked this?
  11. Probably Taravangian. In all likelihood it would have been Sazed as the Hero of Ages, if I hadn't spoiled the entire Mistborn series before I started...
  12. Those are the same Sauron, just at different points in his timeline
  13. Is there another Sauron that I am unaware of?
  14. Not to mention he is one of the Maiar, a lesser angelic being, and so existed before the universe was created...
  15. Most seekers become savants without noticing, so I don't think they experience any ill effects.
  16. Blood is important, cosmere-wise, it's an essence on Roshar. Keeping to the Metallic Arts though, blood, specifically moving blood, is vital for Hemalurgy. (it's even in the name hema=blood).
  17. Question: What is a Sliver? Answer: A Sliver is a term to describe someone who has held the great amount of a Shard's power and have since given it up. Examples would be Rashek and Vin after the use of the Well of Ascension and Kelsier who guided Preservation after the death of Leras and before Vin took the power. Source: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Sliver Question: What is a Splinter? Answer: A Splinter is a certain kind of fragment of a Shard's power. Examples of Splinters are the Divine Breaths of the Returned and the Aons at the heart of Seons. Splinters often have their own Intent different from the Shard's but they themselves are not sentient. 18. Mwahahahaha! Super Ninja powers activate... I had figured it was just a matter of power like piercing a coppercloud. I wonder if a lerasium mistborn spiked with allomanic duralumin and allomantic iron or steel burning those metals would be able to do it. If they couldn't then no normal allomancer could.
  19. Because this came up in a thread today. Question: How is Marsh still around during Alloy of Law? Answer: When the Second Generation seized control of the kandra during Hero of Ages their leader, KanPaar sent a kandra to sell a bag of atium. He thought the kandra should use the Lord Ruler's atium cache to become rich, he however revealed the location of the cache to Ruin. Marsh has the bag that was sent away to be sold and is using the same compounding trick to achieve immortality that the Lord Ruler did. Source: Word of Brandon (entry 82)
  20. I could definitely get behind that idea. Though I do remember seeing a theory somewhere that when Sazed turned the koloss into a true-breeding species he created them with more Ruin than Preservation. (Or that could have all been a dream...)
  21. Metal embedded in a body is resistant because of innate investiture, so you were close with your speculation. Technically it doesn't provide immunity because a strong enough allomancer can pull/push on metals inside a body as seen in the climax of TFE where Vin pulls on the Lord Rulers atiumminds.
  22. In order for a metal to be resistant to allomancy part of it needs to be inside the body. One's mouth is part of the same tube as one's stomach so it counts. As if for a coin inside a fist, I can't remember if it has been established but I do not believe it would be immune since it is still "outside" the body.
  23. Except WoB is that is exactly what happens. (scroll down to entry 82)
  24. Marsh has the bag of atium KanPaar smuggled out of the Homeland to be sold at the end of Hero of Ages which gave away the location of the atium cache to Ruin.
  25. When is SpoCon? I'm going to try my hardest to go to ConnectiCon in July. I agree the "no matter what" might be a bit much but they way I see it if Ruin and Preservation merge totally into Harmony and then Harmony is Shattered there is no guarantee that Ruin and Preservation, as we know them, would be the result and not two different Shards.
