  1. Okay, so the I'm going to make a list of the passions that are visible and possible to verify. Passion of passion - irrelevant since it lets you choose other passions. Passion of survival - you shove actions targeting you to other people, that is visible to players who target you with a specific action. They can easily see that you weren't targeted. Passion of connection - you create a PM, that's visible to the people in the PM, but only if the creator is in it and claims it since if they aren't then the people in it wouldn't know who made it. @Zillah just to confirm, if someone puts two other people in a PM, do those players get to know who made the PM? Passion of empathy - a vote is removed from your total, very visible so long as you are voted on. Also easily verifiable. The only kink is if someone is doubling their vote. Passion of protection - protect a player, this isn't very visible, you'd be hard pressed to find a way to see this one outside of the passion of teamwork. Passion of teamwork - not very visible, you just get information, detectable with the passion of teamwork. Passion of sabotage - roleblocks a player, not very visible. The person who is roleblocked knows this was used on them, but not by whom. Passion of logic - doubles your vote, fairly visible, especially if you're the only one voting for another player, but even then it's seen on the vote count and narrowed down to a few players. Passion of planning - invisible, the messages are anonymous and the secondary effect only every affects them. Passion of research - read passion of teamwork Passion of narcotics - read passion of passion Passion of coercion - visible to the player you target, but they won't know who did it to them. Passion of violence - very visible, kills a player, going to be one of the most analyzed things in the game. So in conclusion, table 1 has 3 very visible and 2 lightly visible outcomes. Table 2 has 2 very visible and 2 lightly visible outcomes. Table 3 has 2 very visible and 2 lightly visible outcomes. So if you want to prove you're going for a specific table I'd suggest table 1. In a more useful context, here are the passions that are very visible and lightly visible (ignoring passion and coercion) Highly visible: survival, connection, empathy, logic, violence Lightly visible: protection, teamwork, sabotage, coercion Invisible: planning
  2. @Elkanah Tktk is pronounced by pressing your tongue to the roof of your mouth and moving your jaw downwards. If you do it right you make a clicking sound. Do that twice and you've got my name! But tic tac is fine.
  3. Time for analysis before I go to bed. Table 1: I feel like this is the most versatile table here. it has protection actions which are always good and keep the elims from killing us all. With all the info we can gather from the tables this would be a good choice early game I think. We can work with the info we get here while minimising casualties. It may be the most versatile but I don't know if it'll be the most useful. Table 2: This is probably the most useful one considering the alignment scanner. That can be really powerful and the other abilities are nothing to scoff at either. This is the powerhouse, but not necessarily a safe bet. The anonymous messages seem to be not that useful to me. Table 3: I . . . don't plan on using this. I don't like Narcotics or Coersion as abilities and killing peple is basically an elim only action unless you scanned them the cycle previous or somthing, and even then it would be better to bring it up to the thread instead of taking a 10% chance of being able to act on it. But I can see a use in Coersion in case we can force an elim to choose from a table other than illegal if they were trying to get the extra kill action. So that's what I've got for tonight. It's not too in depth, but it's what I've got for now. l'll be back in the morning with thoughts on the specific abilites and peoples posts thus far. Night folks! EDIT: @Matrim's Dice I think Gears is a spectator . . .
  4. I haven't had a chance to deeply analyze the tables as of yet, but I want to put it out there that I don't want the conversation to focus solely on that, nor do I want there to be a concerted effort to organize / affect the decisions of others in regards to which tables to choose. I feel that would be against the spirit of the game. That being said, I want to clarify I'm not against analyzing the tables and seeing which would be most useful in any given scenario, only pressuring people to choose from one over another. I'll try to add my contribution to that analysis later on.
  5. Signing up as Tktk please! He has a prosthetic arm from getting his original arm caught in the rigging of a ship. He's been in politics ever since.
  6. I'm not a master of balancing games, but I do have a couple questions/comments/queries/concerns/conundrums/quibbles/counterpoints. 1) you say in the faction descriptions that every Aes Sedai is bonded and then don't really explain further until the bonded section. Maybe that could be altered in a way that kind of explains bonding better, or maybe doesn't mention bonding at all? Or even if you moved the bonded section of rules to right after that it would be clearer. 2) Your faction descriptions say "you are bonded to another player" which insinuates that each player is bonded to one warder. But then in the bonded section you say that any given Aes Sedai may or may not be bonded to none or multiple warders. Which is it? 3) The colors you used for the black ajah are somewhat difficult to read. The red on black strains my eyes. Perhaps try a different color. I know a lot of them are taken up by the ajahs, but what about purple? It's normally a serial killer color but it could work in theory. Alternatively maybe the red ajah could be changed to a color that isn't typically used for the elim faction, burgundy, more of an orange, something like that. I don't know, I might be being a bit picky, I understood the point and the different factions/abilities, so if you got the point across it might not have to be changed. 4) The sentence "White Ajah are not told of the partner of the pair if one of them is dead." Is confusing and awkward and I'm not entirely sure what it even means.
  7. No, TJ cleared up my suspicions of Gears from their speech patterns so I have no real suspicion of them anymore. Plus it's cycle one and I don't vote on cycle one based on principle. I recognize it has to happen and I try to give people something to read in my posts but I never vote day 1. I'm leaning village on him, I don't think that an elim would be interacting with the village in relation to their confusion as much as Matrim is (I hope that made sense, it's a kinda janky sentence). They seem genuinely confused, although I might have ot go back to other games and see if they talk the same way and in the same general formatting for their posts. Thank you, that helps a lot! Something to note is that I've gotten an elim gut read on Araris. I can't tell you what that is from right now since I don't have the time to figure it out myself, but I'll be back to hopefully figure that out soon.
  8. I'm here! Man you guys are prolific. I definitely haven't absorbed a lot of the information people are throwing out there, but I have a few things that have stuck to my brain. First off, @Gears your style of speech is throwing me off. You talk in a very formal way, being sure to use the right words but at the same time making it just a little harder to understand your true meaning. I want to say that is suspicious to me because it could be a newer elim trying to be deliberate in their words and not give anything away. I remember that was what I was like my first couple times being an elim. But at the same time that could just be your brain and how it works, I'm not one to judge. For now I'll just say that I'll keep my eye on you! Initially I thought it was suspicious that Matrim sided with Sart so quickly against Striker, but on further reflection it makes sense considering they were confused about what Striker was saying. Sarts analysis would have swayed them real easy and clarified things for them. What makes me pause now is how they said that they understood when they really didn't. This actually makes me trust them a bit more since instead of bringing it back up to the thread they could have asked fellow eliminators to clarify things for them when they were back in the doc. In regards to the whole role analysis deal, I think it's completely NAI, whether it's done before or after getting roles and alignments. I'll skim them but I know that other beope will bring up the important stuff. That's about all I have for the night, but if anyone has any questions for me, feel free to ask. Answering specific questions would definitely help me get a better grip on this game which is honestly going at a breakneck pace. Please @ me if you do though, I'd appreciate it.
  9. We've pretty much all asked the same question and seen it answered a bunch of times, so even though there isn't a doc it's almost always the same response! Be sure to read through the whole of the rules thread that TJ sent you, there is a lot of really useful information on there like useful terms that will probably come up and a guide to how the games are formatted and scheduled.
  10. Heck! I didn't even know that Topaz was one of Hoid's names! Do you guys want me to change it? I can if it breaks immersion or anything.
  11. I'll sign up for this one, it looks like a great game! Topaz is my name, and cartography is my game!
  12. Apologies for my absence! I'll do my best to get back into the habit of checking the shard regularly. I was almost lynched and have no idea why. I'll go back through and see what I can find from previous turns. I'll be back probably tomorrow with my thoughts.
  13. Lord Silberfarben EDIT: I should probably say why. Not many huge reasons, I just don't see a reason for Bugsy to be lying, and their math seems really sound. So I'm going to trust them since they have less to gain from leading us on a wild goose chase than Pyro did. Additionally their tone seems really guenuine.
  14. Sorry I've been off guys, but for the sake of my mental health I built a giant blanket fort in my room yesterday and didn't really get a chance to get on. I scanned Experience last cycle. They came back as bodyguard. Experience I'm sorry if I shouldn't have revealed that, I understand it makes you a target, but if I had said "I can't say" then it would have put a target on your back anyway since the elims would know it's a valuable role. This way the village gets the info, I don't look suspicious by holding back information, and the elims might not kill you since that would cast suspicion onto you. Also I think you can protect yourself? So that makes it harder to kill you and more of an IKYN
  15. Seeing as the elims pretty clearly have a smuggler and having scanned them as smuggler myself, I'll vote on Shard of Reading.
  16. Not guilty your honor. Welcome Elandera, happy to have you in this large game with an inordinate amount of posts! I have to say, I'm not a fan of the war for most posts. It encourages players to do shallow, quick posts with very little thought in them, stuffing the thread full of information that players have to spend a lot of time sifting through. It makes it intimidating and not very interesting to read from my perspective.
  17. If we get down to it I suppose Pyro is more right though, I mean I totally forgot that Araris' was a bear which is why I tried to make it more mistborn. But I stand by my decision, even if it's only because I prefer the sleeping dragon saying to the bear one.
  18. It's a mistborn-ified version of wake the sleeping dragon. Which itself is another way to say poke the bear. And yeah, "Au contraire mon frere" is french and essentially translates to "On the contrary".
  19. I believe you mean wake the sleeping mistwraith? And also, au contraire mon frere. I want answers and a good discussion topic cycle one other than the rules of the game.
  20. I'd also like to know why Araris reads me as elim. @Araris Valerian
  21. Oh dip! Xino, you mad lad! That's skeevy and genius! Considering that it would be easy for you to just get on with your normal analysis, make a boatload of boxings, and not even have to stick your neck out. Considering this kind of behavior from you is normally NAI, I'd like to see more than just your normal analysis this cycle, just so that you can't get away scott free.
