I don't think I've ever played a game like this before, but it sounds absolutely thrilling! I'm in! Character pending. Do we know what the Set wants at all? What their goals and aspirations are?

Mid-Range Game 40: A Defiant Rebellion
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, character incoming! Simrin, female, age 20. She was/is a security guard that I'm going to play as snarkily and sassily as I can (which may not be too much). I'm not a huge fan of the book Skyward, but the setting is definitely interesting and the premise of the game is fascinating so it's looking good! I'm looking forward to this game!- 229 replies

Mid-Range Game 40: A Defiant Rebellion
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'll sign up. Character pending, may or may not do RP this game. EDIT: If the bountiful gunner protects player A and Player B attacks the gunner, will Player A die? Or is it just the gunner and Player B who die? When an heir to a first citizen gets the First citizen ability, do they retain their heir ability or is it replaced by the first citizen ability?- 229 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Elandera rng may not have liked me but I still enjoyed the game thoroughly. I was expecting our and utter chaos but the lack of actions made it surprisingly calm on my end. I was put back into analysis mode which was welcome. @Zillah it was absolutely my pleasure to bring you to this wonderful world of SE! I'm glad I could convince you to join and I hope to see you in future games as well. Just wait until you're an elim, there is so much more scheming!- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Great game everyone! I've had an absolute blast with this one. So many rules, so many cool opportunities. A bit too many PMs for my taste at some times, but by the end I got a bit more into them. I began the game with windstormers lenses, meaning I had no chance to get other lenses off of dead players. I used them as soon as I could, and they were destroyed by the elims at the same time. I was hoping to get a new lens after I lost that one but that didn't happen until cycle five I believe. Those were the couriers lenses at the end, so I only ever had the chance to take one action the whole game. I was surprised at that because of how many different lenses there were and how many items were in circulation. It didn't take away from my enjoyment, but I do wish I could have taken more than one action. To all three of the new players, I loved playing with you all. You guys have so much promise and you're already fairly good at the game. I hope to see you around for many more games!- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My evidence against you comes primarily from that last lynch. You were the last person to vote on Devotary, before there was even a chance that anyone else would beat Devotary in the lynch since every other player with votes on them only had one vote. You and Devotary voted at relatively the same time as well. What I can see happening is that You and Devotary were figuring out what course of action to take in the doc and came up with the course of action that you eventually took. Devotary would vote on someone else in a last ditch attempt to save their lives in case of last minute votes, while you voted on Devotary to be able to say that you voted for an eliminator. I have had suspicions on most players up until this point, but through some extra context that I got this cycle most of those suspicions have been mitigated. Can I ask you to expand on what you mean by "doing what most of you have done" and "been more consistent than most"?- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alright, this is a good place for the village to be in. Assuming 3 elims to start, there is a 5-1 ratio of villagers to eliminators. If we mislynch and the elims kill this cycle, it'll be 3-1. If that happens again then it'll come down to 1-1. At that point it would be a 50% chance on who wins since ties are decided by RNG. I have a feeling that the eliminator might be one of the new players. All three of the new players are left, so someone might be trying to get rid of all the experienced players. If the last eliminator is a new player, I do sympathize with you, this isn't an easy situation you've found yourself in. I find Feruchemical Skybreaker and the God king to be the most suspicious in my mind. Feruchemical skybreaker because of their odd votes on Elkanah even though they were virtually cleared from surviving the elim kill, as well as their lack of vote in the end - maybe trying to hide and not get accused for voting on the wrong person? I'm not sure, their playstyle confuses me. God King because of the late vote on Devotary. Bandwagoning because at that point the Devotary lynch looked like it would happen and they could have wanted to gain some trust. In the end I think that I have more solid evidence against The God King than against FeruSky.- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Elkanah - I get such an elim feeling from their playstyle! They are telling people conflicting information about their role in PMs, they have schemes and plans that fly over my head and I just don't understand it a lot of the time, I don't understand their plans and that makes me suspect them. That being said, logically I don't think they're an elim. They would be taking huge risks as an elim, and it is very true that being the deciding vote on an elim day one makes it a lot harder to suspect them. They would have given up a teammate for trust but that isn't something I think they would see as worth it. The God King - Seems like a normal new SE player, although they could be getting advice from a more experienced elim on how to blend in well. Overall not too suspicious, they seem honest and village to me. Striker - I played the last MR with them and they are playing quite differently, less activity and more enthusiasm, although that could be for a variety of reasons. Their voting patterns have seemed pretty all over the place, especially trying to get a three way tie going. And as CadCom just pointed out, they have a weird pyramid of PMs going around telling the recipients similar yet slightly different information. In addition they have voted with CadCom for the last two cycles, could be an elim trying to hide their voting by voting with a trusted player. I have moderate suspicion of them. CadCom - Pretty much cleared in my eyes, survived two elim attacks in a row. That doesn't mean I'll believe or follow everything they say, they are still a person, but I do trust that they are not an eliminator. Feruchemical Skybreaker - They seem very curt and don't feel the need to explain everything they do. The lack of explanation for their actions has me on edge about them. It could be them trying to hide their actions as an eliminator. slight distrust Zillah - They seem like a new village player to me. They are putting in interesting points that not many other people are talking about whenever they post, and I feel like they're being sincere. Rathmaskal - I've been getting slight elim vibes from them since day 1, but they haven't seemed to do anything overly suspicious except manage to stay out of the spotlight while contributing in ways that keep them from being focused on without hugely influencing the game. Slight suspicion. Devotary of Spontaneity - They've been pretty quiet, but their logic has seemed sound whenever they vote and interact. Not too much to go off of. Neutral. I believe CadCom more than Elkanah about being Aydee, Elkanah has been claiming so many different things, this is probably another one of their plans. I'll vote on Striker for the reasons I mentioned above.- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Last cycle I wasn't able to quite keep up with the thread as much as I'd have liked. My plan was to analyze everything once I got home, but when I got there I was exhausted and chose to go to sleep so I could do well in classes today rather than stay up another hour looking at everything that had happened. Today my goal is to look through the whole game and give a summary of my thoughts on each player later on.- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, well it's not exactly like the month hall problem, but it is similar in that the probability of one thing (the elims having info gathering roles or a lucky PM that would lead them to finding Bastille) affects the probability of another thing (eliminators being among the five who voted on Venture). Maybe I shouldn't have used that analogy, the more I think about it the less it works. But my point still stands that I think the elims (at least one of them) are very likely to be in those five. Now this is fascinating! @Elkanah would you like to comment on this?- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That's true, but this is touching on the monty hall problem where the probability of an eliminator being within a certain group isn't random but instead relies on the probability of of something that happened beforehand. In this case the probability of an eliminator being in those five players is dependent on who an eliminator would vote for. Bastille is a great player for the eliminators to target and there are plenty of reasons they would have known that Venture is an eliminator with all of the information gathering roles in this game, as well as PMs being completely open. The chances of one of the second two possibilities being true is higher than the first possibility you outlined.- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, in essence it was a play to get votes on people other than me. I didn't feel good voting for Venture at all, I got a village vibe from them and Elkanah was another player with votes on them. Although like I said, something about their last post before I voted on them felt off. I feel like someone who voted for Venture last cycle is an eliminator, maybe even two of them. I think we should focus on that group of people rather than the whole thread for now, because the Venture lynch gave us a lot of information and I feel like I have some leads that are more solid than before. Right now the top of my suspicion list is Rathmaskal, The are taking an "on the fence" stance to a lot of things, which seems like an eliminator not wanting to stand out. They joined the Venture lynch late, basically just bandwagoning onto that lynch with very little evidence as to why they did so.- 240 replies

This lynch is feeling quite swingy at the moment. People don't have overly damning evidence, there is a close margin with three of the players with votes on them. I don't know how this will end up, but I don't plan on moving my vote from Elkanah, I am getting more elim vibes from them than I am Venture.- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration

Venture (3): DeTess, Striker, the god king Rathmaskal (1): feruchemical skybreaker Elkanah (2): Venture, Kynedath Kynedath (2): CadCom, Elkanah Okay, well I don't want to die. Right now my suspicions are mostly lying on Elkanah, something feels off about their nonchalantness regarding their voting. It might be just that they voted on me though. Other than that, maybe feruchemical skybreaker, their playstyle is throwing me for a loop and I have no clue what they're thinking and that makes me suspicious. I don't particularly appreciate this post, it feels skeevy, and a bit underhanded. I get that you don't want to die though I suppose. @Zillah, @Rathmaskal, @Devotary of Spontaneity, you guys are the ones who haven't voted I believe, anything to say or anyone to vote on?- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I don't like to create conflict. I like to believe that I'm pretty peaceful as a rule, and I tend to back down from conflict because it isn't useful except for catharsis sometimes. And honest to goodness I didn't even notice that the first post of DeTess' that I scrutinized was theirs, I was just trying to comment on the level of chaos in the game and theirs happened to be before mine. I wasn't ever trying to start anything so when I got a whiff of a conflict starting to happen I backed off because I really don't like fighting. And like DeTess said, it's not useful when it's heated and fuelled mainly by emotions. I don't think I was overly enthusiastic . . . was I? I mean yeah, I was enthusiastic, I don't like people dying on day 1 despite the information it gives, so when someone survived a kill I was happy! It gives us information and CadCom got to keep playing.- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That's a good point, I hadn't thought about that. Whether or not people post "I am a villager" could be very important. Even if other people start saying it, Butt ad Venture saying it first is painting a target on their back if they're an elim. Slight trust read. @DeTess could potentially be seen as trying to fly under the radar in a busier game with more suspicions, but I'm just as lost as they are for who to vote. Normally I'd be a lot more suspicious of poke votes after day 1, but this is getting frustrating how little I have for suspicions. I'll come back after my next class, hopefully there will be something more to go off of there.- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This looks very fishy to me, very fishy indeed. You say that he is looking good for a lynch and then say you respect him staying under the radar and brush off the other reason I had for voting on him, which by the way has always been a flimsy reason, I will fully admit that. Your nonchalant attitude confuses me, I don't know how to read it. I don't see not putting a vote on as alignment indicative, life happens sometimes. And honestly I didn't even notice you took your vote off of them during that cycle as well, so my suspicions of you are limited to only the fact that you were laying low which I don't find to be quite damning enough to lynch someone for. Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I agree with DeTess wholeheartedly, I think CadCom and Elkanah are soft cleared because of that lynch (well done to the both of you), plus with CadCom surviving a kill attempt (way to go by the way!) they seem to be quite village. This whole situation seems both good and bad. While we do seem to have less people to be suspicious of - and by result higher chances of hitting elims in the future - we also have very little to go off of in regards to actual suspicions because of the relative lack of activity by KidPen. I suppose that if you squint really really hard and tilt your head to the side it is possible that CadCom pulled a WGG (wounded gazelle gambit for the new players, see spoiler) and sacrificed KidPen to get a double whammie of gaining trust with village, but that seems like way way too much effort and risk. Overall very unlikely, but worth mentioning briefly. I'm going to put a vote on Rathmaskal and try to get some more discussion going on. They are currently highest on my suspicion list (the list really isn't very high at all) because of how they managed to slip under the radar last cycle, as well as their vote on CadCom.- 240 replies

Wait, okay so if we all say in a post "I am not an eliminator" or "I am a free kingdomer" then the truthfinders lens can be used as another kind of scan. That's cool, and with as many PMs as we have we can have a lot of information going around. If we could manage to clear a couple people with each others lenses we could have a lot of clearing going on. I don't know if we should pursue that though, there isn't much time and we have plenty of other information sources at our disposal. But that would be really powerful in a longer game with more people I think. Neat ability GM! EDIT: 800th post! Yay!- 240 replies
