So why exactly is Nightblood so stupendously overpowered?
Yata replied to kroen's topic in Warbreaker
Remember that also if the Command was a simple "Destroy Evil", the mental image to put the Command in work was probably incredible complex. About the Lifeless, you can't simply put 1000 Breath inside a lifeless (unless you use the "My Breath is your" command) an ex-living being is the most compatible target of the Awekening in the World and doesn't use many breaths. One popular theory was about the choice of a metal object to the creation of Nightblood. The metal (together with Stone) is one of the Hardest materials to Awaken. Therefore through a metal Object, they may put inside the Sword a lot of Breath that they can't in other ways. Nightblood is a "lifeform" made possible to the effort to put the many Breath as possible packed inside a Awakened Object with the hope that he develop a sentience (remember that Investiture take with itself sentience) -
During the Ascension I suppose there isn't any need of Spike. They was almost equals (for a short time). But I suppose that Rashek gained the Hemalurgy knowledge simply with his expansed knowledge and Ruin simply put some "push" to use it. We know of course that Rashek knew about the Hemalurgy's weakness. After the Ascension, we don't know if be a Sliver put you in a "easy chat" with a Spiritual bein (Shard)

If I am not wrong, a Referse Lashing don't require constant contact after you infused it. Once Szeth didn't use it with a object that he launched to an enemy ? (A Shardbearer if I remember right).

We are not sure that Distance-Soulcasting is a common trat of the Trasformation Surge. It can be the effect of the Trasformation Surge using the Trasportation Surge to get the target without touch it.
-
If Bronze find all Kinetic Investiture a Skilled Seeker may use it to find a Surgebinder. But also the Illusion are made of Stormlight and Therefore the Mistborn can't simply tell what is the RK and what is the Illusion without Interact with them.
-
Sure but what I want to propose was another tatcic. A Windrunner or a Skybreaker may touch some big object and Infused with a lot of Reverse Lash. From that moment the object had a Great gravitational pull that may bend the object shoot to the RK and create confusion to the Mistborn's Anchors. In all this chaos the RK may use Gravitational Surge to be unaffected by the Reverse Lash. With this strategy the RK may be safe for any long range attack of the Mistborn (if he is smart enough to not stay near the "mini-Black Hole"). I am sorry to explain myself bad.

I tought you talk about soulcast the Mistborn, sorry my bad. Anyway I thought that the Surge may be used to do some bad trick to a Mistborn. Gravitation: the Reverse lashing may compromise a lot a guy who is used to beonly Metal anchored. May put confusion to the anchor of the mistborn (gather together coin or little metal object) and of course deflect a bit any "bullet". Lightwaves: A really pain in the chull, an Atium shadow may be hidden or falsificate by the illusions. Soulcasting: Unless you may do it at distance is quite useless. If you may touch the mistborn you have better to Stab with a Shardblade. Adesion: nice options if you may trick the Mistborn and block him. With the right knowledge about Steelpush and Ironpull is quite usefull. Progression: No use at all to me. Friction: If you may use it to reduce the incoming damage is quite usefull. Elsecalling: Is too unprecise to be usefull in a combat (unless you want to leave the battle). About the other surge, we don't know enough.

I don't think that copper would help but I don't think either that an Allomancer may be easy Soulcasted. A mistborn would be more hard. But just to the Investiture's Interference. You had to use tons of Stormlight to do something like that.

The other magic System have often more raw power. Probably the Allomancy reach them only with Durallumin. But the Durallumin is quite dangerous because you must stop burning many metal when you use it. And that time may change a fight
-
To me the Dakhor suffer less the distance problem just because when when a one became a Monk, his anathomy are changed with magic but the change aren't Dor dependant. The only Dor use of them is when they use to gain extra power/speed or powers. And only this piece of their power would suffer the distance problem.

Maybe if the duel was at Tam best moment and with Lan without a Warden bond. Tam may have a chance to be an equals of Lan (or at least a good challenge to him). But as we the Characters are during the WoT. Lan is far better than Tam.

Yes that sentence are about the price to save Moiraine. She will be a core part of the Pattern that lead to the Dark One re-sealing -
Well Hoid as far as we know usually uses its own name. In Elantris, Mistborn, Warbreaker there are people that know him as Hoid. In Roshar no, but probably because he know to be followed.

To me no. Probably a clash with Nightblood would be similar to a Honorblade's one. The Shardblade may "broke" and you need to reform it. We know that Nightblood may kill a Spren but I don't think that he may do while the spren is in a Shardblade form (too many concentrate Investiture).

Probably we had to wait until a true Radiant Knight shows us what is true capable. And about the "unlimited fuel" this condition, is unfair. A mistborn burn-rate go up as his Allomanic Strenght. A Radiant Knight instead became more efficent in the use of the Stormlight through his Oaths-progression. Probably a complete KR may do much more that we saw doing to Kal with an moderate amount of Stormlight.

Maybe in the past a Listener-RK was impossible just because all the Listener was in Voidish Form. To me now if a Listener form a Nahel Bond, it became a Surgebinding through an unique form. Therefore different from the standard working of Human Nahel Bond

I don't think that Newcago change a lot. It's all a single block of Steel and outside of manovrability Vin can't use anything like bullet.

@Moogle Yeah but like you can see with one exeption (that i will talk in the Spoiler) the other required Extra Investiture to do something more than survive. Spoiler Warbreaker and SA: . Again to me the "only survive" isn't enought to give an explaination to the need of Extra power. To you is really strange that an Unmade may try to use future-sight to help Odium, using the Soul of Humans ?

For how the Healing works I don't think. Unless the Stormlight Healing is a lot of different of the Feruchemical Healing. Miles may survive without his head (with enough Healing) and I suppose that a Surgebinder may do the same with a lot of Stormlight

There was Allomancer before Rashek's Ascension. Simply there was much less than during the Final Empire. Every Scadrial Human had a "seed of Allomancy" but it's very unlikely that he may snap and became a Misting (the Mistborn is quite Innatural Indeed). After his Ascension, Rashek give to 9 Nobles a bead of Lerasium and made them Lerasium-Mistborn. With this super Amount of Preservation's Investiture the Allomancy spread to the child of the 9 Original Mistborn with the effects that you may see in the Final Empire. With enough time, the level of Allomancy in the popolation will decrese to the level pre-Ascension. But the Allomancy, Feruchemy and Hemalurgy were on Scadrial long before Rashek.

I would say that if Marsh keep a Cadmium bubble up for a decent amount of time he would spare Youth and Atium. Example: If he use a Cadmium bubble to make a day only 20 hours to him. After a day, he consume youth for only 20 hour. With the same routine he uses 20 years of youth to live 24 years and 200 years of youth to live 240 years. You can't say that is a very good way to limit the Atium cost of Immortality. And of course the rate of Apparent Time/Real Time may be greater. @Moogle After writing the post, I thought about that and I suppose that Harmony may give him a full set of Ability if want. Marsh is a powerfull tool/ servant/friend/ecc... and He maybe give him the ability to survive. And of course if Harmony can put together an Allomancy-Machine, he could give to Marsh a chance without give powers.

Like said above. The unlimited fuel trasform this fight in a No-sense where the first how hit the other win (also if I am not sure that a guy with a lot of healing may be killed with regolar blow).

Lightsong is THE Character of Warbreaker. I would love to see a chat between him and Nightblood
-
I speak about the damage that bein a Savant made at your Spirit Web. Probably using tons of metal for long time would at the end rip you. I suppose that is the reason between the Harmony "unSavant" Spook when he give him the full set of powers.

It make me strange, the Splinters we know are far not dependant of other Investiture. They are indipendent bein. Therefore I don't understand the need of extra Investiture. Unless as I said, they do something tiring (like watching the future) an using the Extra Investiture for the "stressfull" activity. It will probably refer to the source, they feed with the Investiture of the Dyng people (that is probably more easy to steal). About the "why not the Highstorm ?" I suppose that Stormlight is offlimit to them. It's the Investiture of Another (and Enemy) Shard. While the Humans on Roshar may have the Adonialsium's Investiture. A pure form without any "Enemy will" in them to prevent the use.
