Probably he thought something like "A mistborn may burn everything (in the most case with terrible effects to himself) and maybe if he burns the Invested Sand...Something happen to him (positive or negative)" In the end, if the White Sand are a metallic nature (but I don't think) it's possible that he may use to fuel some Allomantic effect.
-
Probably he talk about the Iron alphabeth, but I imagine that the reason is about how Magic work with some elements... For example on Scadrial the relationship Feruchemy-Metal was quite sure and therefore this knowledge created that language. On Nalthis the people with many Breath have an huge improvement to thier sense and therefore they develop a language that can use this sensibility... but in the end they didn't use the focus of the planet. Therefore we can't be sure that "aplhabet= ultimate clue to discover a Focus"

So why exactly is Nightblood so stupendously overpowered?

I don't know if there is a WoB, but i don't think, because I spread the "intent clashing" theory for months and nobody never give me WoB as pro or contros -
As fas as we saw with Kenton...an average Sand Master that uses multiple ribbons are quite slow, if Kenton with his own single ribbon is capable of stop all the Drell (i am unsure of the name)'s ribbons. And the Kenton's ribbon can't have "unlimited speed" because he guides it and in the end the ribbon can't go faster than Kenton perception. Therefore probably when a Mastrell kills is more a matter of no escape route than uncapable of dodge

Alluminium is Investiture-resistant I really doubt you may awaken it. And if you can...it took much more than 1000 Breath to perform a similar Awakening. PS: To me many people read in the wrong way "corrupted Investiture".... probably is just Investiture with some mess in its Intent (or Mandate if you like this word better) -
To be honest I think that everything Kel did is quite all to himself. Yeah He was the begin to an "rightful" revolution, but in the end... He did all for his own hurt ego.

I will buy it, I think I will take the English version because probably the Graphic Novel will not be traslated. To be honest I am a little curious and after all, I want to see the Canon version of the story, something will be different and as far as I know for example a character recive a male/female switch between the novel and the graphic

Oh thanks... I skipped the major of broadsheet because I find hard to read and decript on Ebook

O.O I don't remember this scene (if it is Spoiler, send me a PM)
-
yeah surelly is quite useless because once you may touch a Sand master, you may cut it not use a potentially dangerous ability. I was just curious about Cromium and Nicrosil in the different Magic Systems
-
Pathfinder I have to admit that I forgot to considerate the Cromium (an error born by Mistborn Era 1 memories) and in the end, only a indirect use of Sand Mastery may hurt a mistborn. I was thinking, but may Nicrosil have some effect ? If yes, it may drain a water reserve fast.
-
Pathfinder, it's quite the same thing what I trying to say. But at least Calamity seems to think that a Sand Master may defeat his enemy before every of his defences crumble. In both of our scenarios, the fight didn't last enough from a sand master to lose too much water
-
I really don't know I imagine that if he manage to block the Shot He would resist also to be moved (after all it's always some force applied in a point). In this way the Mistborn will be pushed behind...maybe it's a good way to counter and dodge the Sand (using pewter+Iron/steel to improve speed). But in the end I find unlikely that the Sand (unless you use a ton of it) may block completely a bullet

How would you guys create perpetual energy and investiture?
Yata replied to shadowwisp's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Using Hoid as bait. You will only need to put Hoid in a box. and on the box there are a text. "if you want to shoot him, before you have to donate at least 2 Kw of power, if you can't generate power.... Use that cyclette for one hour to provide your payment. Only a single shot every 2 KW". And of course the Cyclette are connected to dynamo. -
I am unsure about the first, but just beacuse I don't know if a Shardplade isolate Investiture (if yes nothing would happen, if no the plate will loses his stormlight and then the Shardbearer will die). About the second one,I find impossible to Nightblood to be able to access a metalmind, but for absurd He/she/it may do that. He will drain all the Metalmind's Investiture to generate his own well know abilities... He didn't obtain any information, in the same way he will not become more heavy if he drains a Ironmind

In White Sand nobody has an improved reflex (as pewter) and of course when I talk about Vin i meant a Mistborn... we don't know how much mental messing (Emotional Allomancy) may be a problem to a Sand Master but I imagine that a couple of Duralluminium-powered burst of Emotions may create an opening for a well aimed coin. PS: Do We know how hard may become a Sandmaster's Sand (using it as Shield)?
-
Well I have some doubt about. Blood and other liquid "destroys" Sand... therefore if Vin manage to survive to a single assoult with a little cut (and flaring pewter his high probably) she destroys the opponent weapon (if she know this weakness the fight is over before starting). Then a Mistborn may use emotional Allomancy to lowering the concentration of a Sand Mage on his Sand Without thinking about the "trap" an Allomancer may set with Steel/Iron, a Sand Master that keeps his mind on the allomancer may be killed by a piece on his back pulled by the allomancer himself.
-
I missed that part, sorry In the end they are both a quite hack of their respective magic systems. The problem is about their competence: a Sand Master is quite a Glass Cannon, He may do a lot of damage but his whole power is very fragile and the user also. While a Mistborn also if is less damage-oriented may count on a versatile array of strategies both direct and indirect. In the end the Sand master have a chance only if they didn't know how their opponent's magic system works.
-
As far as I know... There isn't Hoid in White Sand.. He don't have to be in all the books... When you spot him, He is there for reason, not just to be a cameo
-
To be honest, I never though at Sand Mastery as powerful as Allomancy...problably I simply didn't consider the thing. Anyway in the end I have to give the victory to the Mistborn. A more balanced fight will be something like Misting VS Standard SandMaster or Mistborn VS a Mastrel.

Well there is an old idea of mine and others in the forum that what is actually "magic" on Taldain is the light and the plant-life form that perfoms photosyntesis. If this is true, it's possible that Darkside and Bright Side develops two (or more) magic system because the Lightsource is very different.

You have right, and therefore I didn't say "my interpretation must to be true" Anyway now that we returns on this argument...There is a "tiny clue" about the Ars Arcanum Error... In the W&W Era and after the discovery of all the 16 metals, we never had a Hemalurgy Chart and as we know the Ars Arcanums talk about the in-world knowledge of the Author in that timeframe. This may be interpretated as: - "the Authors still didn't know how to fit it", - "BS don't put there because He don't want to reveal what the Author discovered about Hemalurgy in the meantime.(Maybe this possible error)", - "Just a meaningless coincidence"

The newborns with a Breath will find pretty fast that something is different with their parent... Their Life Sense will function worse with the previous generation.

Trell, Stormlight Archive and what's going to happen

I don't know if Odium once free just leave Great Roshar System without trouble. He may try to kill Cultivation or maybe simply Invest Roshar itself to accelerate his own plan and in the end kill Cultivation. -
Vo's Returning is recent history... I suppose someone have mention that before the people has no breath. I suppose the people on Nalthis borned "always" with a single Breath but before the discovery of Commands nobody know it. because actually they can't see any kind of difference. They borned and lived all their life with their Breath, it's was their normaly, no Drab at all. Unless Endowment changed the whole Humanity quite recently and I suppose someone have to mention it (it a Global Souls' change)
