  1. It's really just a feeling. Both Mail and I had gained enough attention in the early stages of the game that it wouldn't be unreasonable for us to receive protection, and by using their Cook kill over their Diagrammist kill that means that we can't use it as an excuse for our innocence if we were to survive the attempt. While we have discussed the possibility of WGGs more often than usual in this game, so far it seems that the general consensus was that there'd be no point in the Diagrammists wasting their kills like that. Of course since that is now the known assumption they might attempt it now, but by making statements like this they know we are aware of the possibility, and now this becomes another I Know You Know talk. Tangent aside, before my poisoning, the only player who expressed enough suspicions of me to vote against me that was alive was Deathclutch (if I recall correctly), so unless he is the Cook who attacked me that means the player never called me out and decided to just get rid of me, which at a first glance seems to benefit a Diagrammist more than a Son of Honor/Ghostblood Cook, especially since at the time I don't think anyone was very certain of my faction. Also, Stink, I too would like to know how you came to that conclusion about Kipper and Aonar. You've made similar offhand comments about PK and I, likely to bait us into responding hastily in order to gain some information, but for all we know you might be right about one of if not all of us and for that reason I think that an explanation would benefit the thread. Unless you're one of the rogue Cooks (which can't be since you claimed Runner) you keeping it to yourself won't really help them get them killed, as you'll need to convince the majority or a Cook to pursue it
  2. I didn't provide reasoning because I was out eating dinner and thus could do little more, but I will go ahead and clarify now. First, I wanted to prove to everyone that our claim of being bondsmithed was true. I wasn't sure if me voting for no one would render it null. Another part of doing it last minute is that I didn't want an Ardent to mess with our votes. I'm not exactly sure which would take precedence but I didn't exactly have the time to ask as it was only something I realized within the last hour of the cycle. Second, I don't agree with lynching Venture. That's two cycles in a row that he's been up for the lynch for no other reason than him being inactive, and all that's really done is stagnate discussion. Lynching an inactive gives us very little information (admittedly my choice wasn't much better) but at least in comparison we have more posts from him that we can analyze. Personally I think that if we're going to off inactives it should be left to the Cooks while we debate and kill targets that we honestly believe could be evil. Third, I think that the Cook who poisoned Mail N1 and the Cook who poisoned me N2 are the same and that they are the Diagrammist. To me it makes the most sense, considering that this game we have been very contributed more than the majority of players, which does contradict their kills so far but maybe that's the point. Now, that doesn't mean Mail still can't be a Diagrammist and that the attempt on his life was the actual WGG (which I don't think anyone has brought up yet, which I find odd) but as of right now I'm leaning towards him being innocent. I suppose I could have voted for a random player who wasn't up for the lynch to still prove the Bondsmith's really is alive, but as I've previously stated, I'm trying to get more information, not less, and thought it would be better to get a player who could be evil killed than two I think are good. Plus I had a pet theory that the reason Hael was targeted was because he was on Alvron's list. I had expected the Diagrammists would have attacked another one of his "bounties" today, but I'm guessing the reason there was no kill is either because they were inactive this cycle or because they hit an Explorer/Elsecaller. I had thought they were either trying to frame Alvron barring better targets to assassinate or because Alvron was on their team so that in trying to frame him they were actually protecting him by framing him as it might get us to assume the former to be true and write him off.
  3. Add Gidomara Grae to the roster; I'd introduce him with RP but unfortunately my time is short. Hopefully will be able to get around to it in this game, though.
  4. Unfortunately I don't have much time today, but something has been recently brought to my attention that I think everyone needs to know. A player I am in contact with via PM has claimed to me that they were the Surgeon who protected Venture C1. Their claim to me came off as very genuine and I have decided to, for now, trust that they are not a Diagrammist making a ploy to get me to pursue a false lead. Before receiving this information I was already convinced that the situation with him was not a WGG, which is why I expressed suspicions with my last post at the end of C2 for the players who were voting for him over Hellscythe. That being said, I think it is crucial that we look over everything that those who voted for Venture have posted in search of any peculiar comments or evidence that might suggest they are evil. I ask that players who are able to be active today begin discussing the following players and which of them you think is most suspicious in wanting to pursue the death of Venture: Araris, Kipper, Mailliw, and Kynedath (Hellscythe also voted for him but was killed, so hopefully tomorrow we will find out his role and alignment).
  5. Emphasis mine. Actually, Elby, I brought it up myself, as you can see here: Emphasis mine. Given that no one really expressed suspicions of me last cycle I suppose that's possible, but it could also be a village Cook who believes I'm a Diagrammist for one reason or another (there's tons of things I've done that can be skewed either way) and decided it would be better to just kill me without outing themselves. But even if it was the Diagrammist cook that went after me, I should be the one to say that doesn't mean I'm not evil. With all the talk about a WGG last cycle and a statement that I made about the subject (will quote after this paragraph), this could have been a plot to gain trust. That being said I know it wasn't. Though the fact that I was protected is concerning for me. While I have a couple PMs none of them have claimed a protective role, let alone that they would look out for me. Considering we have two Runners and a Scholar claim and that I'm pretty sure the Diagrammists have either a Surgeon or an Edgedancer, that means either one of them decided not to protect Stink, Venture or PK in favor of me or the Diagrammists are trying to play some elaborate mind game with everyone by both attacking me and protecting me to make me look bad. I would not be surprised if they were trying to use my own words against me. For reference, here is what I'm referring to.
  6. Unfortunately this doesn't prove that PK can be trusted. First off, this is an obvious Elsecaller Transformation. My guess is they had enough time to put in the order after it was decided who PK would scan, and they chose Bondsmith with hopes of instigating him/her into revealing. They didn't account for the fact, however, that the Bondsmith would use his Adhesion ability as opposed to his Tension, it seems, because as Kipper announced on page one: As for PK, in this situation he doesn't even need to be a Scholar if he is evil. If he knew ahead of time what his Diagrammist Elsecaller friend was going to Transform Sart into, then all he would have to do is claim the same thing, so that way when a real Scholar confirms it he appears to be telling the truth. So basically we learned absolutely nothing this cycle except that I was right when I guessed the Diagrammists have an Elsecaller on their team. I just pray that another Scholar scanned Arraenae too and has a proxy of their own so we have some real information to work with.
  7. To say that any vote for HS has no logic is to say no one's vote on anyone in this game so far has any logic. Until alignments are revealed there is no solid evidence of whether or not a player is evil, and even that information is subject to being manipulated. Just because you may not agree that his behavior was suspicious doesn't mean everyone who voted for him are illogical. If I'm not mistaken, you're making the exact same argument that he did in his defense, which in my honest opinion has no logic itself. Anyone can declare someone elses suspicions as illogical. That's the thing though. They are suspicions in a game where we don't get confirmation about them being correct for another two days after following through with them. Where can logic be found? I was the one that instigated the lynch on PK to begin with, which if not for his Scholar claim I would not have backed off in favor of the second player that seemed the most off this game thus far. As for my reasons for voting for him, I made mine very clear before the Cycle ended, and in my opinion not a single reason lacked logic. Admittedly they were not all of my reasons, but certainly the nicest ones I could put into words. On that note, I vote he doesn't. Let's go ahead and assume that PK is a Diagrammist and lied about being a Scholar because he knew that was his only hope at not being lynched. By him posting the result now, it would not be hard for one of his teammates to claim Scholar in PM and tell someone to inform the thread that he isn't lying. We currently have no idea what Sart, Arraenae, or Mace Windu's roles were. If one of, if not more of them, were a Scholar, let alone a Son of Honor one, and the Ghostblood Scholars scanned Arraenae as asked, then there would be no one to confirm if he is telling the truth or not. We would easily be open to manipulation which is something that we do not want. The fact of the matter is the Scholars really don't have a choice but to claim to someone or else we will never learn anything as a whole and will just be continiously stuck in the predicament we are now; tearing each other apart with no real certainty. While it is risky for a Scholar to claim to anyone, what other choice do they have? And truly it's better if they all remain anonymous, even though PK already revealed himself (assuming he's being honest).
  8. If the Cook is a recurring player, then judging by the quality of character they've displayed in doing this, I would bet that the Cook who killed Mace Windu is the same who attacked Mailliw the first Cycle. Otherwise it's possible that they are a new player and are killing people based off of personal suspicions alone disregarding things like how much experience a player has or if they were killed the N1 the last two games. That being said, I'm also willing to bet that the same Cook who attacked Hellscythe C1 is the one who did again this turn, due to Stink's claim of how they were convinced he was a Diagrammist Elsecaller. It's possible they saw that the lynch was a tie and put it in or expected him to be protected by one of their own.
  9. Emphasis mine. So yeah, I'm not entirely sure what to think right now. @PK, please keep the results of your scan to yourself until we have a player claim to be an intermediary with another Scholar, that way we can test if you are telling the truth. Once an intermediary claims to know the role and alignment of Sart you can go ahead and post your results.
  10. @Kynedath, the only error I could see is that you counted Sart's vote against Bort, which is no longer in play due to the determination by the GMs to follow through with his lynch. @Hellscythe, I ask that you try to look at this situation without emotion. At this point in the cycle it's either Venture or you; a claimed Runner and a "confirmed" Explorer/Elsecaller. Whereas Venture has only posted once, you have been interacting with a wide variety of players since Day 1. While we can gain an equal information from the lynch results regardless of who the lynchee is, with you we have actual posts we can analyze to find further leads. Additionally, I find it very suspicious that anyone is voting for Venture at this point unless they believe it could be a WGG. If it wasn't a WGG then he is a confirmed Good Runner. If it was then he is a confirmed Evil "Runner". And throughout the course of the cycle it seems most of us have decided it to be the former; so why are we thinking about killing a likely innocent over a potential evil? Also, in regards to my earlier comment about Explorer not being useful; people are right, self protective roles are helpful, but only if the eliminators don't know it. Now that they know what role he is they have no reason to target him because they know he's not someone who can do significant amounts of damage to them. Given the nature of the role as well it's logical that he could be a Diagrammist. As stated earlier, it seems that he's only using specific words from the GM to fit his agenda, and that's something I don't like. Whether he is revealed innocent or guilty, we have a rather large source for discussion for the next cycle of two. If the former, it's likely there is a Diagrammist among the votes on Venture, and if the latter the opposite is likely true. (5) Venture Mistborn: Kipper, Araris Valerian, Kynedath, Mailliw, Hellscythe (1) Bort: Starry Smite (2) Paranoid King: Aonar Faileas, DeathClutch19 (5) Hellscythe: Zas678, Clanky, Ookla, Adavantos, Feligion (1) Orlok: Bort EDITED BECAUSE TONY NINJA'D ME WITH A RETRACTION Also, I want to clarify something. I did not put the killing vote because his role wasn't good enough for the town. I put it on him because I suspected of his connection to the Murder of Mailliw and his subsequent reaction to have the vote swung onto him, in addition to the fact that I suspected the traitors had a BioChromancer and that it was worth confirming whether he was theirs or not.
  11. Just so you know, PK, this doesn't mean you're cleared. Considering this game has no way to scan (living players) roles you could easily be lying about being a Scholar. I'm only retracting my vote now because of how essential Scholars are to this game; if you fail to prove your role I will be voting for you again, and if I die before then I ask that the village does in my stead. Unfortunately you're also in a situation where we need another Scholar to confirm you're telling the truth. I hope that another Scholar is paying attention and in contact with someone that they can trust in private already so that we can make this work. So unless anyone has any better ideas, this is what I propose. PK, I want you to scan Sart over Arraenae because a confirmation about his alignment would benefit us more due to the number of people involved in his death opposed to a rogue Cook. That being said, if there is another Scholar out there in a position to communicate their results, scan Sart as well and disregard what I am about to say, that way you can help us confirm if he's lying or not next cycle. Because I believe that two Scholars is too few total, it's likely there are two on each team at least. Assuming this to be true, I ask that the SoH Scholars scan Sart and the GB Scholars scan Arraenae. That way we max out the information yield. Now, tomorrow. The Secret Scholar who scans Sart needs to let a person in a PM know that they have his results and send it to them. The intermediary will then post in thread that the Secret Scholar has informed him of the results and that he will reveal them as soon as PK posts his. Once PK posts his results the intermediary can then confirm if he's telling the truth or deny it. If he's confirmed, then yay, we now have two Scholars who can feed information to the thread. If he's lying, then yay, we now have a confirmed Diagrammist in our midst and can get rid of him once and for all. With that out of the way, I am placing a vote on Hellscythe for being the #2 on my maybe evil list. Unfortunately it is far past my bed time so I will have to post my reasoning in approximately 8 hours. But I assure you, my reasons for this vote are logical, even if ridden with gut feelings. Ultimately I would rather kill a "confirmed" Explorer/Elsecaller than a player whose role has not yet been confirmed, as they may be a Scholar themselves or something else that is actually useful to the village.
