  1. Hm. I can accept the possibility that ordinary neutrals can't be recruited, but I don't think it makes a lot of sense flavor wise, especially given the nature of my role. @Elandera, is my recruitment of Neutrals also PAFO, or can you shed some light on that? I also think the elims may have driven Fifth insane regardless of the Sart situation. He is active and convincing enough that it would be worthwhile to remove his vote from the equation and kill him later. Honestly that probably makes more sense than some big conspiracy, but I also think this situation needs to be resolved with a swift lynch in order for the village to move on. That all said, I haven't ruled out Fifth being one of the roleless Cultists as well, since driving their own teammate insane is just as good as a WGG. I wouldn't rate this possibility high, but it is something we should keep in mind if Sart turns out to be a Criminal after all. Sorry if I'm crossing neutrality lines by posting this, but I can't really keep myself from talking.
  2. Alright. Sart. ED1T: I think Striker is good still.
  3. Well, generally in these kinds of situations it is better for an eliminator to lay ground work in their defense first. Because he came to the thread instead of talking to me in our PM, he was able to present any narrative he wanted to make people more paranoid than necessary. Considering it's me on the other side of things, people would likely be willing to assume I'm the one lying. In our PM, the only thing I told Sart was that I was a secret role that could invite people into a doc. He guessed my goal was to just get all remaining living players in there, which I neither confirmed or denied. It was because I thought it would be easier to just show him when the turn is over. BUT he didnt know it changed alignments, and that probably took him by surprise. It meant I couldn't just invite him to doc for him to spy on. It meant that it failed for a reason, which may have been assumed to be Fenweed, but also could implicate him. Not to mention the stuff that happened with Fifth too. That all said, I can maybe buy he is a villager who became suspicious of the failed recruitment. But I do think it is odd he didn't say anything to me in our PM after to learn more before approaching the thread, and how he asked at the beginning of the game if it ended when a neutral won, which Elandera said it wouldn't. Those two factors don't really mesh together mindset wise. Up to you guys really. I will remove my vote as soon as Sart does.
  4. Most of what I know about Hoid is from the flavor of my role / win con and some questions I asked Elandera. The flavor says that Hoid heard about the cultists in Fort Innsmouth and came here to gain some kind of power, and when Khriss found out, she sent me back to my own world to stop him, since I know it best. I know he's neutral too, as in not a member of their team, but I wouldn't be surprised if his win con doesn't interfere with theirs, and vice versa.
  5. Well these quotes are really misleading there, Sart my role is nothing like a cult. But I suppose a really great way to distract the village is to make up a new threat. Did the PM actually say failed to Convert? Or did it say failed to Recruit? Because Recruiting is what I do, and there goes one of my very few chances. You're correct that I'm not an eliminator. I'm a secret neutral role (I think the Journalist originally was meant to uncover secret roles for their win con, but it was adjusted for balance sake, since the flavor for Journalist mentions secrets. Despite the adjustment, my role remained in the game). As for why my recruitment failed, there's two possibilities: The first is that the elims used Fenweed Poison on me D1. I honestly thought this was why before Sart posted, since I trusted Sart, hence my attempt to recruit him. But either he was informed that my recruitment failed, which means it wasn't because of a Third-Party Roleblock, or he is lying about receiving any kind of message, since I did tell him I would be inviting him to my google doc last night. I asked Elandera D1 what happens if I recruited an eliminator this game. She told me PAFO. I'm now pretty certain this is what happens, because otherwise me changing a cultist's alignment would be game breaking. One way or another, looks like I found an elim Sart. ED1T: To get this information out there, my role has two abilities: the first is the ability to track people during the day, and the other is to recruit a very small number of people to my win con while granting them the previous ability to help it along. On D1, I decided to follow Sart, and found out he used Hidden Transcripts. I asked @Fifth Scholar in our PM before what the likelihood of an eliminator using that versus a villager was, and he warned me to not read too deeply into it, but I ended up doing it anyway and decided to rule Sart out as evil. I told Sart exactly what I saw, and he shared the PM. It turned out to be a PM Fifth and I exchanged D1 too. He said he trusted me because there was no eliminator role that could accurately determine his day-turn action, and that still applies. Oh! For further proof that I'm honest, in my PM with Fifth, I made the mistake of saying player's could day-track, when really only I could. I didn't think that was a special ability until after Fifth told me tracking is night-time only. @Fifth Scholar, can you confirm? ED2T: Hm. For my own safety and the interest of my win con, here's the thing. I've been trying to play like a Villager because when I'm Neutral, I still prefer to side with the good guys / the majority. But now that the jig is up, I have no other choice but to go full-neutral so that I might live long enough. So, what does full neutral mean? It means I won't act against either the village or the eliminators. Right now I'm voting for Sart for the sole reason of him voting for me, and will remove my vote the moment he removes his. That doesn't change the fact that he is very likely evil now, but if I don't want his teammates killing me before I can track down the other secret role in this game, I'll lose. So RIP. Problem is, I need to vote for this other secret role when they get lynched, or I lose. So I can't not vote. So I guess instead of trying to help the village with analysis, I'll just work on narrowing Hoid down. ED3T: For transparency's sake, I know very little about Hoid, other than the fact that he's in this game, and that it's my job to "Capture him, dead or alive." As you might have guessed, I'm Nazh of the 17th Shard, who happens to be a native of Threnody with a few nifty tricks. Some of you might know about my trusty Shade Gun, which only activates when someone attacks me. I will die, but so will the person who kills me, so as a warning to the cultists, that's a Pyrrhic Victory at best, and to Hoid, if you have a kill action, I'm pretty sure dying is the last thing you want, so I wouldn't recommend trying to get rid of me that way. I've asked Elandera more about the "dead or alive" aspect of my win con. It is possible for me to recruit Hoid to the 17th Shard, which counts as a win for me, but it's not as simple as using my ability on him. From what I understand, Hoid has to accomplish a few minor tasks to win. One of those tasks is a big no-no for the 17th Shard, so if he succeeds in that one, I can only win by killing him. The other two need to be finished before I recruit him or else he'll just say no and go about his day. I wanted to get a recruit last night that I didn't need to worry about dying anytime soon, hence my choosing Sart, so that I could have two people day-tracking for Hoid instead of one. For my last recruitment, I was going to wait until I found Hoid and see if I could broker a deal to help us both win. So I guess this situation isn't a complete loss. Hoid, if you're out there, I would love an anonymous message telling me if you want to work together. But then again... Maybe we can make things more interesting. Imagine you're Kira from Death Note, and I'm L, the detective investigating Japan to find you. You know my identity and want me dead, but you can't kill me without getting caught / dying yourself. I don't know your identity, but my sole obsession is finding you and bringing you to justice. If you're down, we can make our own little game out of this. I'll do everything I can to find you among the remaining players, and you do anything you want to mislead me, or maneuver me into traps, or what have you. You can even send me an anonymous PM like those notes Kira left for L using prisoners affected by the Death Note. You know what? I'm actually glad Sart outed me. Thanks Sart ED4T: Oh by the way, since the Journalist already died, that means the game started with at least 3 Neutral Roles: Nazh, Hoid, and Journalist, which leaves 11 slots. I think we might not have a Bounty Hunter this game or any Criminals, else the village numbers get reallllly low, so among those 11 players, I would guess there's 3 eliminators max. It's a great thing Araris survived, intentional or not, because 8 villagers from the get-go means this game is going to be prettttty tight. ED5T: Oh, the reason why I know Sart isn't Hoid is because if I track Hoid during the day, I'll be told that I see beyond his disguise or something to that effect. Sart is probably just a cultist.
  6. I think I make statements like this every game. It's my opinion that PoE is the most efficient way to figure out eliminator teams, and it's the way I always pursue. We can play guessing games all day trying to determine who is working with who, but I think it's much easier to simply find good reasons to rule people out as evil, rather than pursue others for doing something we find suspicious. After all, humans make mistakes, and sometimes a difference in play style between two players is all that's needed to get them butting heads. I'm asking is that if CadCom is a Villager, he does the best job he can with the time he has so the rest of us don't mislynch him, should it come to that. It's not meant to be a threat. It's just advice. I have no idea what alignment he is, and the votes that piled up on Shanerockes could potentially implicate him as evil, which is why I think it's so important to ask him of this now. Time is ticking, someone is going to die soon, and every mislynch just makes things harder for the village. ED1T: For anyone who may be unfamiliar, PoE stands for Process of Elimination.
  7. Hm. CadCom. Last game we played together you did an amazing job at making your Villagerness obvious. A lot of it was the sheer amount of effort you were putting into the game, and a lot of it was the perspective I could see you approaching situations from. While I love the RP, I'm hoping you'll be able to manage something similar this game so I can remove you from my suspicions. Okay so the question we ultimately need to ask ourselves is whether or not CadCom is an eliminator. The fact that there was no vote manipulation to help save him is likely a point in his favor. We know about the Founder's ability, after all, and there's no way the elims could know if any villagers would use Voice in a Crowd, so it would be risky not to act for their teammate. On that note, though, I'm surprised we didn't see any ViaC's at all. If I were an elim and I saw a V/V lynch unfolding, I'd consider using an anonymous vote to mess with things further. Especially this early in the game when there's more cover for the cultists. That either suggests they want us to think they don't care about this lynch, that they were unable to put in an anonymous vote because they already voted, they were too paranoid of getting caught if they didn't vote, or they just weren't around during those last few hours of the turn. Lot of possibilities, and none of them make me feel more confident one-way-or-another. Does anyone else have some thoughts pertaining to this? Regardless of that, we can try to work through alignment probabilities, based on lynch positioning. For quite a while no one really came to CadCom's defense. Fifth was the initial vote for minor reasoning, I added my vote to make the threat real / because I didn't have a reason to lynch anyone else at the time, and Araris voted for him because of what I mentioned at the beginning of this post; CadCom looked more like he was trying to delay his death than help the village. Overall, I think these votes are pretty clean. Sart was the first one to go for Shanerockes alongside the other inactives. I don't really fault him for that since I usually go about things a similar way or at least support it, but when I saw 2 players other than Sart come to CadCom's defense when he hadn't really done much so late in the turn, I decided to leave my vote where it was. Between those two players, I only really suspect Venture. I stand by my village read of Striker, so in a world where CadCom is an elim, than I'd bet a hefty pile of silver on Venture being an elim too. I am slowly opening my eyes to a V/V lynch world, though. Of Hats, Devotary, Rath and Xino, I would guess Devotary for sure. She is the kind of player I imagine would not want their team risking being found out by an anonymous vote this early in the game. Especially if she wasn't the only elim that didn't vote. It would draw too much attention to a tiny pool of 4 players if half of them are evil, even if it would frame CadCom and probably get him lynched soon. As such, my current guesses would probably be: CadCom, Venture, +1 of the remaining 6 who didn't vote for CadCom Devotary, +1 of those who voted, +1 of those who didn't vote
  8. I stand by my last post. I suspect CadCom was saved by an ally.
  9. Okay, I'm here. Hi CadCom. Thanks for posting more. In response to this, I had a thought. @Elandera, will the hint we get N1 be the same hint we'd get any other night of the game? Hi Sart. Counterpoint. The likelihood of Shane being an eliminator while inactive is slim-to-none, while as of right now, yourself, Striker and Venture all have votes in place to save him. If you aren't evil one of them certainly could be. I'd rather check CadCom's alignment at this point. I was considering changing my vote, but I'm okay with this.
  10. I should probably chime in to say I don't think the Gravedigger should use any kill until we pin the Deep One down. We have 14 players this game, meaning he only has two kills total, and if he kills a Fort Folk, he'll be driven insane. It'll probably be obvious who the Gravedigger is in this scenario. So let's just hope someone can use the Necronomicon today and get us a decent lead.
  11. Hm. I'm not so sure Striker could post what he did as an elim. Let me try to explain why. First paragraph is certainly NAI, yes. I really like how Striker went down the Gravedigger tangent. I think an eliminator would prepare their thoughts more ahead of time instead of going through them stream-of-conscious in thread. After all, this would be a great thing to go over in the elim doc first. This gives me the impression that Striker has no other outlet for his thoughts. While I disagree the Gravedigger should start killing immediately, I think this is coming from a village perspective rather than an eliminator one. Advocating a vigilante to start killing indiscriminately is a bit too blatant for an eliminator, even if hitting Fort Folk might accelerate their win con. I also agree with his take on the insanity thing. I am a little skeptical he would reach this conclusion as an eliminator. It feels like a more natural concern of a villager.
  12. Just some quick thoughts while I have a minute to post: I feel pretty confident saying Striker is village. I don't feel confident saying Sart is village. Araris is an enigma, as always, and I kinda want to vote him to see if he does more. I'm down for a CadCom vote to add some pressure. @Cadmium Compounder?
  13. Sorry everyone. I'm alive. I need to finish a quiz online which may take an hour or so more of my time, but after that I'll look over the rules and today's thread to make sure I'm caught up on the game.
  14. Honestly I don't think I'll be much help this game rule / strategy wise, but I'll sign up as Innocent.
  15. Like I said, nothing personal. I do think that if a vast majority of players posted exactly what I did, they would have been given the benefit of the doubt and allowed another night turn to prove their role. Heck, a Village Tineye could have easily confirmed if I was honest or not while I checked another player's role, and the village would have benefited a lot more for giving the only claimed Seeker a chance over lynching the "Inquisitor" that day, should I really be them. That and your reasons for suspecting me directly contradicted the inevitable conclusion of me being evil. You were suspicious of me for basing my current read of you off other people's observations instead of my own, while insisting I was paying enough attention to figure out your role from an extremely obscure comment among an ocean of words. In my honest opinion, one of those facts could not simultaneously exist with the other in a game without PMs. It's all good. It's just a symptom of a recurring problem with "veterans". It is my opinion that past games should not impact current ones. Just because I have lied to save myself in the past doesn't mean I always lie. And like with the vanilla claim, it doesn't mean a lie isn't for the benefit of the village. It's not exactly a me thing. I take issue with the stubbornness more than anything. Given the facts I presented that turn, the possibility of me being honest should not have been discarded so easily. But I suspect no matter what, we will both harbor the belief we were in the right. And honestly? That's okay. ED1T: Good game everyone. I wish it could have lasted a bit longer, but everyone played phenomenally.
  16. Considering I was the one gunning for the Inquisitor D2 while you pushed the lynch on a Seeker, I'm not so sure I'm a little sad that the game was concluded. Had I still been alive, I would have argued that Stick be allowed to Convert for the fun of it. With people anticipating her going for one of the vote manipulators, it would have been really fun to see if Stick threw a wrench into things by converting someone like Cicada, or if she'd convert Rath/Drake and play IKYK games with you all until you lynched her the third time. Exactly this tbh. I harbor no anger or bad feelings over what happened since it's my own fault for not double checking the allomantic metals before I posted, but it really isn't fun / is really discouraging for me when people take the whole reputation too far. It's a large part of why I don't play much anymore.
  17. I'm going to change my vote from Stick to Sart. Specifically because of the complete 180 from this: to this: I don't really understand the mindset here. In the first, Sart gives me the benefit of the doubt when I'd already posted the "evidence" he uses in the second (which says the complete opposite of what people are saying. It's clear I was looking for an excuse to clear Drake.) I find both of these stances to be very opportunistic. ED1T: Not to mention in the first post he gives great evidence for why I'm not lying.
  18. I did not double down on suspecting you. That's exactly why I told everyone my Seeker result in the thread. Saying you weren't online was my attempt to dropping my suspicion of you without having to reveal it, but then I looked at your profile and realized I was wrong. I just asked if anyone saw you viewing the thread to hopefully add to your defense. I do find it incredibly amusing that you'd rather believe that I'm lying about being a Seeker than believe I made an honest mistake while drinking. As you can see above, this is twice this game I've said something without double checking the facts. Brass being Rioter and you not being online because you didn't post at the end of the cycle. Not to mention I have a history of drunk-posting. Honestly you're being a bit stubborn and tunneling, but if you really want to cost the village the game, go for it my hands are clean. Also, Stick, it is mostly PoE, but also your repeated use of inquizyboi. It's silly, I know, but the nickname triggered some gut vibes. If it's not you, I think it's probably CadCom, Sart, or Devotary, and up until Sart's last post, I was mostly leaning village on him too. ED1T: @DrakeMarshmallow, before I forget. Fura asked what hint you're talking about in your post. I have absolutely no idea what you were referring to, and would like to remind everyone I've only read most posts once / have done no analysis. ED2T: From the rules: As the rule states, Seeker's are told metals, not roles. Why is it so hard to believe I confused Brass with Zinc? XD To restate something Devotary pointed out, there's a very high likelihood of a Seeker being in the game, and since no one has counter claimed, logic dictates I am being honest.
  19. I'm actually beginning to think CadCom is probably Village. It seems like he's been putting a lot of effort in his posts, and from my experience that's generally harder as an eliminator. Probably even more so considering they're alone right now.
  20. Amanuensis: Seeker Rathmaskal: Soother DrakeMarshmallow: Soother Cicada: Coinshot I'm personally not advocating any more role claims, but what's done is done, so we can rule these players out. Devotary's vote on me without commenting makes me wary, but I'd like to trust my initial read of her. I'm still village reading Fura, and I'm willing to bet Xino and Shane are village, too. Inquisitor is among Stick, CadCom and Sart, imo. Stick remains my top suspect.
  21. Just want to point out that if I were the Inquisitor, I wouldn't publicly claim Seeker of all roles. Considering it only shows roles and not alignments, it would be fair to assume one exists in the game, and the second the real Seeker counter-claims, I'd be turned against. The only world in which my claim makes sense is the world in which it's honest.
  22. My logic behind insisting this game isn't role madness (essentially claiming Vanilla) was to mislead the Inquisitor and prolong my death. I originally was going to scan Devotary but decided to switch to Drake after the post I made last night. I began College again this week and I've been too busy to put as much effort into this game as I would normally, which is why my reads aren't very solid / I haven't done any analysis yet. It's also a part of why I claimed at all. I don't mind the Inquisitor killing me at this point, and I wanted to prevent the village from wasting any time on Drake and I in the mean time. We really need to find the Inquisitor ASAP, and with the number of players we have, I figured narrowing the list down even further would be our best bet. At this time, I village read Devotary, Fura, and Cicada. I'm most suspicious of Stick in spite of her defending me. In a world where she is the Inquisitor, it makes a lot more sense to take the stance that I'm being honest, especially with so many votes on me already. @DrakeMarshmallow why are you village reading her?
  23. If I do elaborate plots, they're usually more intelligent Like I said, I mixed Brass up with Zinc. And as Sart said earlier this cycle, it makes no sense for Inquisitor!Aman to guess Rioter when one just died. I'm mostly sober / over my hangover now, so my head is clearer. Amanuensis.
  24. I am pretty sure Brass is Rioter. Am I wrong? Because that would be incredibly stupid to risk. ED1T: Google tells me I am wrong. Turns out I'm incredibly stupid. Note I was drunk last night, otherwise my reply would have been more eloquent than terse. Seeker says the metal not the role. I mixed up Rioter and Soother. Should be understandable since they are so close. Honestly ask yourself what are the odds of me being in the right ballpark about a vote manipulation role? ED2T: Not going to spend time arguing, even if it's obvious my claim is honest. Amanuensis ED3T: Nah stupid question before. Honestly ask yourself what elim would claim a fake role after a SINGLE vote? I did it so the Village wouldn't waste time. If I was the Inquisitor I would just talk myself out of it like I always do, or ignore it since it really meant nothing.
  25. No need for apologise. I honestly should not have claimed but I'm a little impatient and I don't feel like dealing with doubts.
